My best friend strongly recommended this taco shop to try if I'm ever in Austin, stating it's her fav taco place so of course I had high expectations. The place is tucked behind a bar and the seating area is in an outdoor area. It didn't take a long time for the tacos to be ready, less than ten minutes. The tacos were delicious! I loved the beef taco, the meat was well seasoned and the tortilla was fresh. Normally I really don't like pulled pork anything so I was worried of the carnitas but my friend insisted I try it and I'm glad that I did. It was chopped enough that I didn't notice it's pulled pork and it has some nice crunch in it as well. I liked the beef taco so much that I came back for another. While the tacos are on the pricier end, I feel it's worth it. I'd definitely recommend this taco shop :) read more

Wednesday 7/24/2024 I made a takeout order to get my food at 4:24 pm but there were complications with whoever was opening and I didn't end up getting my food until 16 min later (around 4:40 pm). After dealing with that inconvenience you would think I'd end up getting something for the extended wait but nope. I got the brisket taco $7 and chicken taco $7: - The chicken taco was flavorful and decent but the meat portion was smaller than expected especially for a $7 taco. - The brisket taco was alright: it had good meat portions for a $7 taco but the flavor & taste were a bit underwhelming. Also the edges of the brisket had a very crispy like texture that was similar to a chip. Overall, the tacos are alright but very expensive. They are NOT worthy of the $7 price tag but more so around $5 range. read more

I love this place! I usually go to the Cheer Up Charlie's location. I love the smoked brisket tacos, quesadillas and nachos. The balance and proportions of everything are perfect. I was expecting a very average taco based on the setup but let me start by telling you, this is no average taco spot. We placed our order and after the guy was done charging us, he turned around and started prepping the tacos. It took about 5 or 6 minutes but the order is brought to you while you drink.
