I went here this New Years Day (Observed) -- Monday -- if memory serves correct. Parking is plenty and anywhere in complex outside the shop. The wait time was decent but not exceedingly long. I came at a busy time so I'd estimate maybe a half-hour of wait. I asked for a specific haircut as I am thinning a bit already. The barber I had (a lady) was nice and accommodating in this respect. The haircut was good. Price was decent -- about a twenty even. A bit cheaper than some neighboring shops. Overall, satisfied with haircut & likely will be coming back here. read more

Looking for a more affordable barber, I called ahead to ask if they could trim mullets. The lady on the other end replied saying yes of course. I went in for my haircut and asked the barber to just trim my mullet, I requested a 1 faded up on the sides and a half inch off the back and top. He basically shaved off all of my hair on the back of my head, therefore no more mullet. And then trimmed maybe a 1/4 of an inch or so off the top of my hair. The sides are hardly faded, the top is uneven, and the back no longer has any length. I will not be returning. read more

Pretty rough hair cut for my son. Despite showing a picture of what we wanted and repeated requests to only trim, the barber cut very uneven pieces out of our son's hair. I initially thought he understood me, but there was either a language barrier, he was not listening, or did not know what he was doing. Once home, we saw just how uneven and jagged his neckline and front bangs were left; we had to even it out ourselves at home. First time and last time we will be here. read more

Not a good experience. I went in to get a beard trim and the guy just kept fussing about how he spent more time than needed when I asked to just make a small adjustment to the neck line. He said that he spent 20$ worth time already when he is only charging 11$. Maybe it was just a bad day for him and I, but not someplace I'd go back for sure. read more

Giving two stars since the haircut does seem barber specific so maybe you'll have more luck than me. Came here based on the positive reviews but will not be returning. Pros: - clean shop with plenty of seating - minimal wait for a barber - cheap (although you definitely get what you pay for) Cons - Showed my barber a picture of what I was going for. The end result was nothing like what I showed. If you come wanting a buzz cut they will do great. If you want any sort of style, run somewhere else. - Another customer came back with their kid who had a horrible haircut to get it fixed by the same person. Long story short, an argument ensued, cops were almost called, and the hair stylist quit on the spot after screaming at the customer. My barber didn't even have the courtesy to apologize for what was going on and kept going like nothing happened. It wasn't his fault, but you should still say something to your customer that this isn't usual. Left this place with a bad cut and in shock by what I witnessed. read more

I sincerely urge you, please be as concise and as strict as possible when asking for a haircut, especially with unbeknownst barbers. I recently got a haircut at the Ashburn Barbershop after numerous insightful regards from my peers, yet I realize now that they were merely luring me into the gates of hell. Greeted by a nice woman, I explained how I wanted my haircut: short on the sides with practically nothing cut off the top. Throughout my experiences at past barbershops in the area, I've come to the conclusion that when you request even the slightest bit off the top, it is as if you are uncaging a wild animal. Based off the false impression that my peers have given me, I assumed that the nice lady would acquit my theory that my local barbers are complete lunatics. Clearly, I was mistaken. I watched in horror as the nice lady slowly clipped seemingly every last strand of my fringe, unveiling my massive forehead with infestive acne. As I am writing this, I understand now that words simply cannot describe how frustrating, irritating, and grieving this experience was. The only thing that could accommodate my will to get off the chair and drive home were the TV screens that showcased replays of basketball highlights. After the nice lady was finished, she proudly showed me the wasteland that was my head. Unfortunately, all I could do was force a smile and gaslight her into thinking that she did a terrific job. I greatly regret this decision because I have now given the nice lady a false impression that she could in fact cut hair. If I hadn't, however, I would've destroyed her so hard that she would damn near be jobless. For a twenty-one dollar haircut, I refute that they may as well have given the haircut to me for free. Please learn from my experience, do not come here. By giving this barbershop one- star, I am showing sympathy. I look forward to getting bullied by my friends. read more

Got the second worst haircut in my life. I explained to the stylist that I wanted the #2 clipper on the sides and back. Guess she only heard #2 clipper because she ran the clipper down the top of head. Reverse Mohawk I guess. Never went back and wore a hat for six weeks. ASHBURN Barbershop was recommended. I gave the stylist the same instructions. Also said don't want to show skin. I was panicked from the minute I walked in and all the stylists started yelling hello. I was quickly moved to the back of the shop. Now I'm really nervous. She listened to my instruction and used the clipper I requested. But then she started using scissor. End result, there is skin showing on the back of my head, over one ear. Uneven by about an inch on the top. I only found this out the next morning when I finally looked in the mirror. I went back and afterr hellos all around, I asked for a supervisor or owner. Three people answered. One asked what was wrong and responded THIS HAIRCUT IS WHAT'S WRONG! Yes, I was yelling. The woman had me sit and started looking at my haircut. Then she started showing the person next to her. They were not speaking English. She said she would fix. You can't fix bald. When walking out, they all yell goodby, etc. One last thing. The sign on the window states the prices. If you are a senior it says $14. If you are a woman it's $15 but you don't know that until you go to pay. We pay an extra dollar. read more

We have been in VA for about 12 years now and have probably tried 8 or 9 different places for my son's haircuts. We always end up returning here. The price cannot be beat and it's usually a very short wait, if any at all. There are several people working at once and unless you want to wait for a certain one it is a bit of the luck of the draw. I would estimate my son is pleased 90% of the time. He likes a very uncomplicated cut and usually gets what he wants. I'm not sure this would be the place for a super involved and complicated cut, but for my teenager it is just fine. We call it the "Cheers" place because when you enter they all yell hello in unison and then goodbye as you leave. I'll take politeness anytime, especially these days. read more

I just walked out not 5 minutes ago and just received the literal worst haircut of my life. I've been coming here for 6 months, never had an issue until I met Philip tonight. The first words out of his mouth after my haircut were "I'm sorry," if that gives you any indication of how bad it was. I asked him not charge me it was so bad and he said no. I asked for a small trim and they gave me a whole cut. It made me look like an egg. Then in the middle of the cut the lady who was cutting my hair took out their phone and told me to rate them. I am new to the barber shop and have tried out a couple different barbers here. After my most recent haircut I will not be going back. The barber tried to thin out my hair or something and it had chunks missing from it. The hairline and shape up need to be completely redone. I've gone here since middle school, I am now in college. Every time I've gone, I've gone for the same barber as he's very good (so is everyone else but this particular barber knows how I like my hair cut). Today however, as I was waiting for my regular cut, there was an old man outside who was having trouble getting inside (likely due to his legs not supporting him well enough), and this barbershop went above and beyond and brought a chair out to the parking lot and gave him a haircut in the parking lot. Absolutely fantastic! I'm a 55 year old horseshoe bald man and extremely handsome. For about ten years I would cut my hair myself (just shear of the lovely locks I have on the sides) with a tepid assist from my wife. I also did the whole shaving of head thing for a while. But I got lazy just taking care of regular hygiene stuff and decided to go low maintenance let my coif grow along with a beard. I started going to Ashburn Barbershop about a year and a half ago. They are great. My last barber from several years ago would have me in and out of the chair in about 10 minutes. But the folks at Ashburn Barbershop take their time. I'm pampered. Hey I get hot towel on my face (gangster style). Never had that done and it's soooo relaxing. So I highly recommend this place, especially to middle age dudes who need an quality haircut at a great price. read more
