A great bar in a beautiful space. The cocktails were unique and our server was great....but the atmosphere stole the show.

Stayed at the Asher Adams for work. The place has beautiful architecture and stained glass that I was told was original to the building. The rooms are very nice, not a lot of space to work, but great comfortable rooms to sleep! (Sorry, I lost the room pictures) SERVICE: I had great service when I arrived (got there early). They found me a room right away and explained all the amenities very clearly - for an out-of-towner. FOOD: I had lunch to go from the lobby bar- excellent (steak salad). Later had an old fashioned - also great ;) Tried their restaurant "Rouser" and their speakeasy "No. 119" but I'll review those separately (also great!) If you need a clean and comfortable place to stay with everything you need including a cool speakeasy...here you go!

I have been wanting to go here since they opened. Especially since they state they are the only other 4 star hotel in downtown SLC. Beyond disappointed...... truly I am. The space is gorgeous, they did an outstanding job in the lobby and the outside has handmade glass stain windows that depict Utah and all its glory. My husband and I came here before a Jazz game to get some " good eats," before the game. Well unfortunately the 4, staff members at bar were too busy to serve the other 6, yes I said 6 people at the bar. Whom had already been served, had their lovely drinks and food they were all dining on. We sat at the bar, not at a table in the bar area, we were visibly seen. We sat there for 10 minutes with not 1 of the 4 staff members saying 1 single word. No hello, I'll be with you in just a few minutes, here is a menu and some water, NOTHING!!! We keep looking at each other hoping to get a hi, it never came. 2 of the bartenders made drinks right in front of us and didn't say peep, in fact didn't even look at either my husband or I while we stared at them like we were not welcome to be there at all. My husband was ready to make a scene and complain. But we decided it wasn't worth our breath. Luckily we went over to nearby Flanker that happily took our orders and did an amazing job, and didn't treat us horribly. Evidently, I read some reviews afterward and it looks like you guys treat a lot of people this way. What the hell is going on guys? This is a business, we are paying customers and this is how you treat you people? I have been in the customer service industry for over 35 years and this is ridiculous!!! Do better and train your employees or get some new ones.

Asher Adams is such a beautiful hotel! This was my first time visiting and I attended an event in their lobby/conference rooms and was blown away by the facility. The main lobby area was previous the entrance to the Rio Grande train station and the conversion to the lobby was amazing. It looks like a lot of the interior was well kept/restored and it was really cool to see a piece of Utah history integrated with this property. I'm so glad the owners put this train station to use as it sat vacant for years. For what I was able to access on the main floor, everything was well kept and the staff were super friendly. I would love to come back and stay at the actual hotel - if it's anything go like their lobby, I imagine it will be a wonderful experience!

I could argue Asher Adams is for the introvert who wants a night out to get a good cocktail. It isn't very loud, not overly crowded, and absolutely gorgeous architecture to look at while you sip your drink. A standout for me is the black and white Photo Booth ($8.50 for 2 photos), various seating options including the bar, chairs, couches, benches. Their bar food is good too more on the pricey side, drinks are delicious and priced averagely- to the pricey side. For a hotel lobby it feels like you are in Italy definitely stop by!

Our team came here to enjoy the amazing, historic train station. It is now a beautiful bar. The area is spacious and breathtaking. This is a good place to relax with friends and enjoy a drink.

We found this gem of a bar and restaurant while searching for a place to grab a light bite to eat near the Delta Center, where we were attending a Utah Jazz basketball game, and what a great find it was! The historic, but warm & inviting, atmosphere on a cold night was perfect. Despite being quite busy, our server, Kai, was pleasant and attentive. Then the food, which couldn't have been better. We shared the Caesar salad with Dungeness crab, followed by a piece of carrot cake. Both were absolutely delicious and exactly what we were looking for! We will definitely be back for a repeat.

Crab Caesar salad is so good. Very light and lots of crab meat. Root beer float is sooo big! Yummm Service is great. Servers are attentive. Quiet during lunch time. Not busy. It's right at the lobby in the middle of the hotel.

We had our company's holiday party here and the renovation is just stunning. Friendly staff at the lobby bar. Have yet to try the Roscoe restaurant but it's on my list! They do need to workout who validates parking as we kept getting the 'not me.' The 119 upstairs and the Vinyl Record Room were super intimate for a small party. Can't wait to go back. Oh! And I love all the local and historical artifacts of the railroad. Noticed a few pairings as well of local artist, Justin Wheatley, in Roscoe. Can't wait for my next visit. Might even have a stay-cation, too.

Weekend staycation at this beautiful hotel in the historic 1908 Union Pacific railroad depot. We will definitely stay here again.

The ambiance of this bar is amazing. It is located in the old Union Pacific train station. The food and service is also great and is located by the Delta Center for a pre or post game drink and food. I very much recommend visiting here.

This is the inside of our room. It was lovely, and the energy in this place was comforting.

Weird service. Horrible dirty martini. Like it's simple? Why does it taste sweet and rotten. I'm sorry, wish I could have scored better.

At $29 with the steak, they're definitely on the pricier side, but the portion size helps justify the cost. The serving is massive--I could easily see two or even three people sharing it as a meal. By the time I finished, it honestly looked like I had barely made a dent in it. The steak was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, and every bite was loaded with toppings. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I stopped by during an off-peak time, so it wasn't very busy, which made for a relaxed experience. One thing that really stood out was their Guinness. As someone who appreciates a proper pour, I have to give them credit--they know exactly what they're doing. Too many places rush it, but here you can tell they take pride in serving it the right way. Their drink selection is also extensive. Whether you're a beer fan or looking to try a unique cocktail, there's no shortage of great options. I'd definitely come back, especially with a group to help tackle those nachos!

The food was good, we had the potato empanada and the wagyu skewers. Both were tasty and prepared well. There was live music that was really good and we enjoyed the people they had booked. There is a cool speak easy down stairs and a dance floor upstairs (we didn't see that). Overall, the place is really cool. I will concur that our minimal encounter with staff was less that stellar. Not sure why there were all the security guys mean mugging ayerone. Recommend this place for a drink and some grub.

Good drinks! Good vibe!…read more Stopped here for drinks on a Saturday night and the place was popping! We had a group of five and we were lucky to score some stool/bar seating right up front. The prices were very reasonable! Drafts were $7 and some cocktails were $11. The bartenders were super friendly and polite and talented! I really enjoyed watching them prepare five drinks at once without loosing a beat! The music was also great! They were rocking early 2000s jams. I ordered their penecilin cocktail which had ginger, honey, coconut and lemon with whiskey and it was delicious!! Everyone else enjoyed their drinks and we had a great time!

In full transparency it has been 2-3 years since my first and last visit to Water Witch. I noticed this in my drafts and thought I should complete my review. That said, I think I hyped this place up in my head too much before my visit because of the James Beard nod. So when it didn't quite hit the mark for me, I was disappointed. It's quite an intimate bar. By that I mean small space inside. The main bar has seating of course and there are a few seating areas directly behind the barstool area. There is a small walkway that separates the bar and the seating area. So the seating area is looking straight forward at the bartenders and the backs of people on barstools. I felt like the people behind me were staring into my soul lol, but that's a me problem ha. It's a modern design and beautifully decorated. I had two drinks. One from the menu and one that I told the bartender what I liked and disliked. He then made a drink based upon my taste. In my opinion it tasted similar to the one from the menu, which was disappointing because I was hoping for something different. There was one bartender that evening and one bar back, so even with the few people at the bar (I'd say 6-7 including me and a guest) and the 4 people seated behind us. It took some time to get his attention and order a drink. Which is part of the reason I only had two drinks. I would probably give this place another try since it's been some time since I've been there. As I always like to say. Stop in and judge for yourself.
