Coconut rice with meat. First dish.

Rare Ethnic food 2 - African cuisine. If you heard about fufu, this place serve this items. It is a starch items that can be commonly found I Africa. This material is pound into flour. The texture is like dough. Very healthy. The first course we have is the coconut rice with assorted meat. We have the goat, beef and chicken. The meat is cooked in similar to curry paste but is not curry. The meat was cook for a long time and they separated from the bone. Good dish to have. Our second course is the Egusi Soup. It is a mix of ingredient that I not even know. But it is go well with the fufu. It also has a selection of meat of your choice. We added puff-puff and moin-moin. Puff- puffins a unique fried dough. Very puffy. The moin- moin is the puréed bean. It is lightly glaze on the outside. What a experience. This is a 4.5 stars restaurant. Since my wife gave 4 stars, I can give 5 stars to make it 4.5 stars.

This is a fun place that will put a smile on your face even if you don't have a gorgeous and fragrant plumeria flower in your hair.

This is far and away the best Nigerian restaurant I know of in Tampa. The fufu was fun stretchy and delicious. The other items we had were tasty and interesting. This is a small place with a hospitable proprietor. Like the nijera at Ethiopian places (Queen of Sheba) you can use the fufu as a base to eat with other dishes. Great place for an adventure. Not a huge fan of the doughnut type item, puff puff, but I liked the meat pie and steamed moi moi dish. I forgot the name of the fav dish we had (see pics) and Grace H. stole the receipt. Will have to try the rum cake next time. The coconut rice that came with the meat dish we had was a bit overcooked and not especially coconuty or flavorful for me, and some of the meat was fatty but flavorful. The okra soup I tried packed some punch! Waters Ave. has lots of great food from various cultures and everyone should try here at least once. Despite some dishes missing the mark for me I will never forget the tasty dishes (even though I can't remember what they're called). The fufu and experience of my first Nigerian meal were unforgettable! So bookmark and head over. We are blessed to be able to experience diverse cuisines here in Tampa / St Pete.

This little restaurant is located in a little plaza directly across the street from the Sunoco gas station. I always look at floors and use that as a first impression- thankfully they were nice and clean After being greeted by the lady who would be cooking my food, I asked her to help me pick something to eat since this was my first time here AND my first time eating African food. I ultimately went with the "Egusi Soup" with goat and Fufu; while choosing a slice of rum cake for my dessert. After digging into my meal my first thought was- "wow this is spicy!" I actually enjoyed the soup but I could've done without the meat. It was a little too firm/ dry for me to enjoy. I prefer my meat to be tender. This meal was $11.99 plus tax which was a little pricey. Overall it was an interesting experience and it was ok.

This was my first time step in Africa for Nigerian food. Besides their good taste, I liked the names of the dishes- Puff- puff, Fu-Fu, moin-moin, sound like baby talk. So adorable ! The delicious soup with veggie looked very healthy. Customers choice to add meat in there (or not). I liked puff puff better than their meat pie. Clean, friendly owner, friendly price, overall it was a fun restaurant to have African food.

Unfortunately, the portion sizes were surprisingly small for the price, especially the chicken dish. We arrived at 5:45 p.m. for our 6:00 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly, which was appreciated. However, we waited about 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. While our waitress wasn't particularly attentive, she did apologize for the delay in getting our food. The restaurant itself is cute, specially outside seating. One suggestion is that the tables are larger for two people. The table next to us requested another table to be moved over to hold their food and drinks properly. The pita bread didn't arrive until later in the meal, and while it was a nice addition, it didn't make up for the small serving sizes and lack of anything to dip it into at that point. I truly wanted to love this restaurant and leave a glowing review because the food itself was very good. Sadly, between the long wait, service issues, and portion sizes that didn't match the prices, the overall experience fell short of our expectations.

Since our table wasn't ready, we spent about 20 minutes outside taking in the view. It ended up being one of the best parts of the night. Watching the zebras and giraffes roaming around at sunset felt surreal! Once we got seated, we started with cocktails. I had the bees knees, which was light, refreshing, and a great way to kick things off. Of course, we had to try the famous naan flight, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The breads included traditional naan, garlic naan, spiced naan, onion kulcha, and paneer paratha. The accompaniments were just as impressive. It comes with mango chutney, roasted red pepper hummus, coriander chutney, tamarind chutney, tomato date jam, cucumber raita, and a jalapeño lime pickle. It was fun mixing and matching flavors! For my entrée, I ordered the butter chicken with rice and lentils, and it was exactly what I was hoping for rich, comforting, and very flavorful. As expected with Disney dining, it wasn't spicy at all but still really satisfying. We finished with the giraffe dessert, a peanut, banana, and chocolate creation that was almost too beautiful to eat. The presentation was incredibly artistic, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Overall, Sanaa is such a unique experience with great food, great service, and unbeatable savanna views. Definitely worth it.

I think it is virtually impossible to visit this restaurant and not get the bread service. In our last visit, we actually saw a family of three that in my opinion, did it right by ordering two bread services and a couple appetizers. The burger for lunch is a little different but very good and their seasonal salads are always fresh and delicious.

Lots of variety at the buffet with all dishes well seasoned and flavorful! I don't eat much African food, so a lot of the items were new but familiar flavors. My favorites were the Fufu and other mash next to it as well as the cabbage carrot stir fry. For desserts, honestly, they all were pretty good - gotta take a bite of everything! I would say the only downside is service is a bit slow. My niece spilled water and they got our drink orders mixed up, but I don't blame them since it's packed. It is a buffet so expect to wait in long lines if you want the meat items (steak, sausage, chicken etc). The service was fine and relatively fast once sat. I personally won't be going again since there's better options that are more convenient to get to if you are staying at a different Disney resort.
