Jessie and your team are incredible. Took a roadtrip/mission up to Gresham OR from San Diego CA to pick up a '96 F250 project. We stayed in Ashland and had them take a deeper look into the vehicle and turned out it needed a new head gasket, new turbo, and other minor parts... We had to leave and head back to CA for work and they kept the truck until those repairs were finished than we had it towed back home. Upon Jessi and the crew working on the vehicle they were incredibly generous and great on labor time and telling my wife and I exactly what was going down. Several small problems solved when they diagnosed and replaced a weak battery. Car running great

Three strikes and you're out! This is some pretty serious incompetence. I brought my Honda CRV in for a simple oil change, and they somehow managed to run the car battery down to zero (turned on the electrical system and forgot to turn it off?), then failed to reset the onboard computer so my radio and everything else stopped working, and then during the tire rotation they didn't check the label inside the driver side door, and inflated the tires to the wrong pressure, triggering a low tire pressure indicator. I had to go back three times to get these issues fixed. And then, to add insult to injury, they did not have any windshield wiper fluid on the premises, and they did not reduce the bill to account for all of these problems. Do NOT recommend. read more

I'd been 'hearing' a troubling noise in my vehicle on and off while making short L or R turns for some time. I was previously told the noise was indicative of a 4-Whl drive; not to worry about it. Having had the vehicle since new & having driven 4-whls for decades, I'd never heard that type of noise. So, I did worry; every time it was necessary to go out. I needed a 2nd opinion & gave Ashland Auto Repair a call. I got an appointment the next day. Jesse & Gene quickly diagnosed & repaired it at a very reasonable price. That little shop is reminiscent of  bygone days & old fashioned customer service.  While it may not look like much from the outside, the folks inside know their business; everyone was pleasant, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. My husband, daughter, and I were driving around Ashland and Talent when 3 of my check engine lights came on, one of them insisting we get it looked at right away. We live in the Bay Area and we were staying with my parents along the Klamath River. It was 4:30 pm on a Tuesday when my husband called Ashland Auto Repair. He spoke to Matt on the phone who kindly told him to come right over ( knowing they were going to close at 5:00). Meanwhile, my daughter and I were dropped of near Lithia Park. 15 minutes later my husband telephones me to tell me Matt had solved the check engine problem and everything was ok. Overall a pretty good place but the current desk guy is something else. My coolant was at the "low" line on the overflow tank after a recent coolant change and I thought I'd stop by and get it topped off just like the owner's manual recommends. Well that was not to be. He ( the desk guy) got annoyed and suggested I fill it with water (about a pint was required) and I said that wasn't the right thing to do. He looked at the almost empty reservoir and proclaimed it "within standards". Come on man, who is going to be happy with that after a refill? The best part was when he said "If I fill it to the top (over the obvious "full" line), that it would overflow when it got hot. Duh. On that ridiculous note I left in disgust. I gotta admit, he can do a good job of being useless. I'll be going to a shop where an adult is in charge. read more

My boyfriend and I just had the best experience with Ashland Auto Repair. I called earlier this week and spoke to Matt about getting an appointment this week for an inspection on a car we were considering buying. Matt was SO nice on the phone and got us an appointment immediately. We dropped the car off and they did the full inspection. After reporting all looked good and giving the thumbs up to go forward with the purchase we find out that there is NO cost from Ashland Auto Repair to have a car inspected. We were over the moon, especially with buying a car being a large purchase were happy to save money anywhere we can. If you have any troubles with your car swing on by, I'm almost sure you'll have as good of an experience as we did! read more

I called Matt in the morning and told him the Subaru was making noises and maybe the brakes were "soft." He was very patient and said bring it in and I'll take a look at it. Had to show up in person to retrieve my vehicle, at that point the mechanic felt it wasn't his fault or problem to contact customers and proceeded to try and fight me at the shop, on top of all this there was an extra $20 for absolutely nothing on the bill. We drove from Sonoma County Ca. to Ashland, arrived late afternoon 7/16. Took our bags into our rented condo, as always goes realized we forgot a couple things. Thought we'd go to a store than dinner. On our way to Main St. the car started steaming. Beautiful. Figured, lets eat, car cools down. No problem. As we were staying only a mile away. We ate Pie & Vine, beautiful dinner. Car started, drove to condo, pulled in the temp. gauge was pegged. Looked up a AAA repair shop. Called them next morning. Brought the car in, they were most kind. Walked to town for breakfast, walked Lithia park. They had a price, I offered to cover expiated shipping. Said they'd have it done in 24 hours, or before 1 Thursday. This was fantastic, as we were to leave Friday. We walked back to their shop to see if they needed a signature. None needed, they offered to drive us to our condo. Thursday morning I called to see if the parts arrived. Not yet was the reply. A little nervous about that, but had faith in them. 12:30 they called, car was ready! They picked us up. I was most impressed with them. Such kind and caring people. I paid extra and thanked them so much. They put all aside for us to accommodate our needs, and our schedule. They installed my timing belt wrong. A timing belt for Christ sake. I brought a 2001 honda in for regular maintenance and they did it wrong! My car had no check engine lights when it i brought it in. It is now sending me more than 5 different misfire codes, which is obviously because the new timing belt was not properly installed. Completely unacceptable. My experience at Ashland Auto Repair was amazing. I originally took my c300 to Mercedes benz of Medford. They quoted me $900 for a simple Maintenance, I looked up auto shops in my home town of Ashland Oregon and found Ashland Auto Repair. I took my car to them and was immediately astounded at how helpful they were. They did the same service for $290. I Highly recommend them not only for their repairs and maintenance but also for their great customer service. all of the guys are very knowledgeable and helpful. I dropped off my car to see why the check engine light was on. Later that day I went back to get my car. My friend drove me and parked in the Ashland Auto Repair only parking spot. When we got out of the car the man that was pumping gas came up to us and yelled that we weren't allowed to park there and that we should have read the sign. We didn't understand what he meant since we were customers so we kept walking in and he yelled at us again saying that buying something in the store didn't make us a customer. If you own a diesel, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE! The mechanic named Anthony is poorly trained, childish jerk. He could not even replace my fuel filter without screwing up my truck so it would no longer start. He started off with a string of F-bombs, started throwing tools around, and finished off by telling me that not only had I F'd up his entire day's schedule, but insisted that I have my truck TOWED OFF THE LOT! I did get a tow to Valley View Auto Repair who had top notch mechanics with much better attitudes. I would recommend Ashland Auto Repair only if you want to be entertained by seeing a grown man fly into a tirade and have a full blown tantrum if he cannot fix a problem he created! Anthony MAY be adept at changing a tire, but for anything more complicated you should take your business elsewhere. read more

I went in on Christmas Eve morning, and was hoping I would be able to get help without having an appointment. They immediately helped me even though they had other cars on the rack and waiting. It felt like a good, old fashioned, friendly shop: they let you walk into the garage, even close to the cars on the rack, without telling you to stay away like bigger places do. The mechanic was very kind, helpful and spent half an hour fixing my (now minor, but I wasn't sure!) mechanical problem. And then, when I thought I would have to fill out paperwork and pay, he drove the car up to where I was waiting, left the driver's door open and said "you're good to go!"...without taking any payment! Walt and crew have been servicing my Prius and Pathfinder (and cars I owned before that) and do a terrific job. A previous female reviewer perceived gender bias; I have never had that experience in 15 years. There is a high turnover of mechanics, incidentally. I have yet to have a bad experience with any of them. As far as Poor Richard goes I sympathize with him; however with repeated experience he simply got there at the wrong time. Since he had such a bad time there I'd recommend he go to Valley View, where I bought a car for $3k I couldn't register. read more
