Contacted Ashley Heating and Air in Boise, Idaho (Yelp thinks I'm in San Francisco, go figure), for a standard AC maintenance appointment. I will give them props for communication, they sent a text the night before to remind me of the upcoming appointment. The technician Dorian (super nice guy BTW), called when he was about ten minutes out. He was super nice and knowledgeable. The problem started when Dorian found a bad capacitor which needed replacing. He had the part on-hand and when I asked about the cost, he said it was about $200.00 I excused myself for a couple of minutes and went inside to my office (part in hand), and when I checked the price on-line, they ranged anywhere from $17.00 to $40.00 (ish). I'm but no means a cheap skate but take great offense to being taken advantage of. I can only assume they believe they are dealing with uninformed, uneducated morons. Bite me Ashley, I won't be calling back. read more

Big kudos for Ashley Heating. We noticed our water heater leaking from the top on Saturday night late. Called Ashley Heating on Sunday - the person answering their phone took our number and said someone would call us back. Got the call back within the hour, and he came by Sunday afternoon. I'd heard so many horror stories about other places that say you need a whole new water heater when it's not necessary. But this guy told us it was just a small pipe that needed to be replaced - he offered to go get the part and do it for us, or he could just explain to my husband what needed done and we could do it ourselves for less. He charged us a very reasonable diagnostic/home visit fee and that was all! Very responsive (even on a Sunday!) very reasonable and ethical. Gave us the option to finish the job ourselves... Very impressed. We will definitely be using them again in the future when the need arises. read more

I called and spoke to a gentlemen who took my information. He was helpful and nice. He said the scheduler was on another call but that she would call me shortly to get on their schedule. That was 4 days ago. I'm sure the response is "this is a very busy time of the year" to which I don't disagree but you should return phone calls and personally tell your prospective clients "it's a busy time of year". We were looking for a new company but we crossed Ashley off the list. read more

My mother who is 79 years old called Ashley they came out and gave her a price of 12000 dollars for a new unit and she said ok they would install it in a week thankfully they kept giving her the run around saying tomorrow so she finally got fed up of waiting so we went with another company and it was literally half the price and the warranty is a year longer then the one they offered my mother is on social security a fixed income and it's sad company's try to take advantage of elderly people read more

I originally called as this company installed an Air conditioning unit a while back, and my experience was good. Unfortunately, this time I needed service on my heating unit and apparently they know nothing at all about Lennix systems. I was charged almost 90 dollars to be informed that they unable to work on my systems. Knowing that... I doubt that I will have any further business with this company (not to mention the loss of my recommendations to my friends and family). Very disappointed. read more

From the very beginning, Ashley H,A.&W, was amazing. We had to replace our entire heating and cooling system, ducts and all. Rick came and explained everything about the old system and then the new one. He was very informative and we never felt pressured. The guys that came to do the job were fantastic! They worked so hard and dealt with a couple of unforeseen issues (which I didn't have to pay extra for). They also were very enjoyable to be around. Thanks Bob, Shilo & Tommy! The follow up they do was also worth mentioning. After finishing they went through a thorough inspection with me. 07/01/2019 We just completed remodeling our kitchen, including the counter tops and sink. In doing so, the Reverse Osmosis system installed by Ashley's was disconnected and reconnected. Everything looked great -- all the tubes were restored to their original locations, the valves turned on (and nothing leaked), but no water came out of the spigot. The contractor who did the remodel called the manufacturer who referred him to . . . Ashley's. Before he could call Ashley's, Ashley's called me. They sent a technician out within an hour, who quickly diagnosed the problem -- about 6" of a discharge tube had been trimmed to accommodate the new sink arrangement, and that 6" contained a inline flow limiting plug essential to the system's proper operation. They sent the part out and had it installed within an hour, and they didn't charge me for the service call. That kind of service is hard to beat. Thank you, Ashley's. read more

I called Ashley because the service company we've been using for over 10 years could not come out to look at our AC for 8 days they were so booked. Ashley had a tech at my house within 12 hours! They could not repair our system because it was past its life, however, all people were friendly, professional and prompt. I am seeking replacement bids from them for a new system. I hope they have a good bid. read more

If you want to get ripped off and be charged $550 for a $150 part and a 15 minute repair call Ashley. They can definitely make that happen.

While they were extremely friendly and reassuring when I was making the appointment to see why the AC had stopped blowing cold air, I was shocked at what they quoted when the arrived at my house. They said the unit was low on R22 and that I had a few options. They quoted $1600 to figure out where the system was leaking refrigerant, and additional $ for any parts that needed replacing, and then $500 to refill the tank. I got a quote from another company who was able to come the next day and do the service for less than $300. I am out the $89 diagnostic fee, but it felt like i was being taken advantage of and pressured into costly and ineffective services. read more

I Had an appointment to meet with Justin at Ashley in the morning to price out modifications to an existing office space. After 20 min with a no show or call i called to see if he was lost. Justin answered and stated had issues which is understandable, yet didn't call and let me know and waited for 20 min after he was 20 min late already. During the appointment Justin seemed knowledgeable and friendly and agreed to provide pricing. After the walkthrough i follow up after 4 days requesting an update and he mentioned he was waiting on vendors, which is also understandable, but i assured him we had some time. After that i left multiple voice mails, emails and texts on the status and update on the pricing with Zero response. I called multiple times over 2 weeks. The other party to the project called as well with no response from Justin at Ashley. I would not use Ashley Heating and Air in Boise for the poor communication and customer service shown. IF anyone knows Just at Ashley in the Boise office i'm still waiting for my bid. read more

When my 37 year old a/c unit died, I was told it would need to be replaced along with my furnace since it was so old and parts weren't available anymore. I decided it was a good time to convert from electric to gas and to move the old furnace and electric water heater from inside the house out to the garage. Out of the five quotes I received, Ashley was very competitively priced. From the moment Rick came to my door to give me a quote, I was impressed. He was knowledgeable, professional and patiently answered all of my questions. What really impressed me the most about Rick was how he would stop what he was doing when I asked a question so he could give me his full attention. He also would offer more information than what I asked for. When Bob, the installer, came out, he was friendly, courteous and professional. When he was running the new gas lines, he made sure the lines would support any future gas appliance installations. Bob also was very patient and made time to answer all of my questions. There were other employees who helped on the job as well and every one of them were friendly and professional. Everyone was also great with my dogs, making sure to take the time to give them a little attention as they came and went. After everything was installed, they cleaned up after themselves and helped me learn about my programmable thermostat. I was very happy with everyone who worked on the job and will gladly recommend them to anyone who needs any work done. They were awesome! read more

I came home at midnight to a 95 degree house. The sticker on my A/C says 24 service and sales. So I assumed they were 24 hours. I called and was eventually called back. I asked the guy to come out because I have a two year old who won't be able to sleep in a 95 degree house. He said "I can't come tonight because I can barely stay awake to talk to you." Don't put on your sticker 24 hour sales and service if you refuse to provide 24 hour sales and service. read more
