We ordered furniture in the beginning of June. Lady told us it would be delivered ASAP. We moved into our new home and still no furniture. I called so many times and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. We finally went to the store in Columbia MO to find out what was going on. The woman just talked in circles. First she told us to order the furniture there and cancel our order and maybe we will everything sooner then. Than she said it looks like you will get your couch 7/22. I went to Ashley Furniture store on 10/29/2017 to buy a sofa and bedframe my daughter brought a sofa and chair, I was moving 12/1/2018 and wanted my furniture delivered around that time after many phone calls to customer service and 5 different explanations on why my furniture was not delivered. I finally received my furniture 12/28/2018 and guess what they only deliver 1/2 of a L shaped sofa to this day 1/9/2018 I still do not have the other half of my sofa. The problem with this store customer service is I have to call them every week to find out the status of my furniture if I didn't call they would not stay in touch with me. I am at the point they can come back and get all the furniture and I will find another store to buy from. If you are thinking of buying furniture from them think twice the Ashley furniture stores are independent owned so the corporate office have no say over the individual stores policy's. I visited this location on a Sunday evening and I hope I will never need to return again. I looked for a sales representative for close to half hour. Finally someone directed a salesman by the name of Sam over me. Sam came over to me with an unpleasant and unfriendly demeanor. I asked several question regarding a dresser that I really was considering to purchase. Each time I asked him a question regarding price; measurements; availability and color he had to return to the computer to obtain the information. Then he wrote the information on a very small post it note. It took much longer to obtain a pen as he disregarded me standing right in front of him as he was playful with his colleagues and not welcoming to me. He was dress very professional but his customers service was not on the same level as his dress attire. I walked around the entire store and no one asked if they could help me. I had recently visited Marlo furniture which is very close to Ashley's location. My experience at Marlo was a totally delightful. The sales person's name at Marlo is name "Q". He gives 5 star customer service. Many should be strive to provide the same. I will visit another Ashley's Store location or contact Marlo to purchase my selection and will encourage my family members to do the same. Was offered a payment plan, I declined and paid IN FULL. Was told that I'd get a phone call two days before delivery date, to confirm. Then was told that "Special Orders" would take 6-8 weeks. My purchases were "sale" items. So why did it take over 2 months to get my furniture? Numerous phone calls resulted in my finding out my "Sale" items were "special orders". The sales person was nice. we bought around 4,000 dollars worth of merchandise from the store. She said they were waiting on one piece of the three pieces and it should be in within a few weeks then they would call for a delivery date. I waited a few weeks... and i called back. now its moved a few more weeks and to call back. Soooo I did. They said it was a manufacture issue and now its the beginning of March. I called back again and they said call back in two weeks. So i called back again today which is now 3/23. Wait for it... she said call back on the 29th. And by the way its a manufacturing issue. In the beginning i was waiting on one piece. NOW im waiting on two of the three. News Flash.... Just left Ashley Furniture. Yusuf greeted us at the door, telling us about their sale. He even let us use his tape measure. And that was the extent of his good customer service. We walked around and he found us a couple of times. The last time, we asked him about the availability and cost of a comforter set. He checked and came back to us, saying he'd have to ask his manager because there was no label on it. We waited for several minutes then decided we didn't see anything else of interest and wanted to meet up with Yusuf to order the comforter. We get up to the front of the store and not only has Yusuf not even asked his manager, but he's leaning his head around the side of an entertainment center, eating his lunch. I visited Ashley Furniture Store located on Ritchie Road In MD in May to purchase a Queen Mattress Set the salesperson showed me several sets I made my selection and was told the delivery date would be in two weeks it was in July I am sorry that I didn't read the reviews I would not have chosen this store and certainly not to made a purchase. If I could give this store less than 1 star I defiantly would. Not only are they extremely rude but they markup the prices 100-200%. The manager of this store, John Holder, is extremely rude and condensending. I came into the store to try to resolve an issue since the store phone has not been working for the last 3 days and was met with resistence, condescendion and a terrible attitude. I'm not sure if sexism played a part in Johns interactions with me or if his issue is that he's racist. Do not purchase from Ashley furniture. I purchased a queen bed from the Capital Heights location. I ordered a Medium mattress; however what was delivered and setup was a Firm Mattress. I immediately called the store to inform them of this mistake. They told me that because the mattress was delivered and setup they can not exchange it. It was delivered yesterday afternoon the call went in less than 24 hours later. Their customer service and policies STINK. If they would have informed me of this policy, I would have checked prior to the delivery person leaving my home. What a Joke! Customer service was very poor. I asked for a mattress that was in stock and could receive right away because if anything I needed a mattress right away. I purchased a couch with the understanding that my couch would take up to 12 weeks due to COVID however I was expected to get my mattress the week I purchased. This was back in August. Fast forward to October I was told by Archie I would definitely receive my order October 8th and did not receive my purchase because it was not at the warehouse. When I tried to get a refund I was told I could not get a refund I had to allow 12 weeks due to "COVID". The day of delivery I get a call that the truck shut down and I couldn't get my order until 5 days later. No one tried to help me to resolve this problem. I called the store and talked to a store manager who was very rude and and lied about who his name was ( John not RC). I asked for a refund and was told I could not get a refund they aren't able to give them out and that I had to talk to cooperate. I will be calling cooperate and writing a letter to the head because this customer service and management was very poor especially for a person who paid cash for their items. By far the WORST experience I have ever had with any business in my life. I will be sure to tell everyone I know with every opportunity I get to never give one penny to this terrible store. I have spent over $5000 in this store on my order and I regret every cent! I placed an order in the store on 10/23/17. Bought a couch, coffee and end table, dresser, nightstand, mattress, bedframe, and dining room set. All through out the shopping experience I was told my furniture would be in my house within 2 weeks. I was happy about this because I had just moved from out of state and had nothing. After charging my card they made me aware that the furniture might be 4 to 6 weeks but they said it rarely ever takes that long. 4 weeks pass and I have not heard anything about my order. I call and it is explained to me that everything is in except the bed frame and the dining room set. I was sleeping on an air mattress so I demanded that what they currently have be sent to me as soon as possible because the rest of the items were not scheduled to be delivered for a few more weeks. They were reluctant but finally agreed. On Week 6 when I still haven't received anything or been contacted I called the store to get an update. My furniture was apparently on back order and still not been delivered to them. I told them this is unacceptable and I wanted to cancel the rest of my order they told me to cancel I would need to come in. I come in to cancel and the manager had not left any indication that he agreed to cancel my order and I was told they their policy gives them an additional 2 weeks pass the promised 4 to 6 weeks to make the delivery otherwise I will be charged a fee. So furious of having my time wasted I left. I have been given at least 6 different estimated delivery dates to their store and none of them panned out. When I call the store, the receptionist has no answers as to why my furniture has not came in and keeps saying that the store manager will call me back and he never does. You are expected to remain cal and patient with them even after all of this run around. No one within this company has any answers and fails to deliver on the things they say they will. I have since cancelled the dining set and I am still waiting on the bed frame. They are dishonest and disingenuous and if this is how things are nationwide I am shocked to see that this company is still in business. Ansalan the manager is a liar! And needs to be FIRED because he makes this terrible store even worse than it already is. This is the most unprofessional service I have ever received in my life. I have since reached out to corporate (still waiting for a manager to call back) and made a complaint to the Maryland consumer protections agency. We purchased furniture from the Waldorf store they were having a sale, we financed the order and then were told they wanted cash for the deliver, taxes and finance fees which we got the manager to approve financing after being told they are not suppose to do that, when we got to the counter the manager also chastised US for the price the sales person gave us "he gave the whole dam store away", they rushed us through this part, and "forgot" to tell us about the 30% restocking fee if you cancel the order even after a month of waiting now we have to "just relax and wait" per the store manager for our furniture to arrive unknown when. We have received 2 calls on when the furniture will be in, got rid of our old furniture and now sit on folding chairs and a card table because it has not even been shipped and they do not know if it is coming from North Carolina, Wisconsin or where it will come from. The manager says no one knows when it will come in. We called the corporate office which is where we found out these Ashley home furniture is the marked up furniture and then what does not sell goes to Regency Furniture to be sold at a greatly reduced price, if you doubt this information call their corporate office 301-782-3800, so after a month of waiting we have no furniture and have to wait for it to arrive unknown when, The staff is rude, nasty attitude, and only in it for the sale. I don't have a problem with Ashley Furniture store in general..........I just have a problem with this Capitol Heights location. Let's start off with customer service. I get it, you want your sale and the commission, but the fight to get to me once I walk in the door and harassed throughout the store got annoying. So I eventually ordered a furniture set and of course you have a waiting period which is expected. Every once in a while I would call just to check up on my order because I need it by a certain timeframe. Lady at the front desk would give me a different date every time. As my 5 weeks of waiting for my furniture comes around I call again and get a date past the 5 week mark with the customer service rep stating that one item has arrived but the other hasn't. So I'm thinking where are they getting this order from that it hasn't arrived. Ok fine so I'll wait another week except this is now past the 5th week. Instead of calling I go into the store. One front desk rep on FaceTime, and another chatting on the phone. Not sure what their customer service policy is but the FaceTime turned me completely off, but I really wanted my furniture. So as I finally got someone attention, I was then told that whoever ordered a portion of my order didn't properly place a piece that I wanted. So basically it took me to come to the store for them to realize that a piece of my order wasn't actually ordered??????? So now I'm going to have to wait a few additional weeks for my entire order to arrive?? At this point I requested my money back for the piece that wasn't ordered until they told me that I would have to wait 6 full weeks for a full refund. So the CSR then says she will push the order but will be an additional 2-4 weeks. NOPE I'm good I want my money back, I'm not in the field of waiting forever. The service was OK in the store, at best. I ordered a sofa, loveseat, and dresser. None of which was in stock at the warehouse, which I didn't know until after I paid (this is my first time buying furniture). When I first called back, I received an Eta. When the day came, they only received the dresser and mirror. I received another ETA for the couches. That day came, the couches still were not there. At this point they had no ETA to provide. I called corporate, then the next day they gave an ETA. Now the day for my delivery comes, and I receive a call that same morning saying the dresser was damaged... you guys had the dresser for weeks and didn't realize it was damaged? Whatever the case may be, I was tired of waiting weeks for my furniture. By the time they would've gotten another dresser and set up delivery, I would've been outside of my 6 weeks. I called the store and was told I'd be charged a 10% cancellation fee if I cancelled it. Called corporate an was told, "It's actually 8 weeks that you have to wait". Over it. Don't care. Never dealing with Ashley's again. The other stores I purchased from didn't give me ANY problems and had fast delivery! They was good with communicating information beforehand. NOT Ashley's. On Feb 16 I went to Ashley Furniture (Capitol Heights, MD) and was greeted by one salesperson. We asked about the sale and the salesperson told us it was 50% of on everything except accessories and everything would be delivered in 2 weeks. Long story short, we end up purchasing sectional with ottoman, 8 seat dinette set, recliner, king bedroom set, and king size bed, and a wall clock. I didn't really look at my invoices until the following Saturday. When I did, all I saw was the final number. I want to see the original price with the subtraction of the 50% and the final discounted price. Which my invoices just had the final price. Since my wall clock didn't work and I had an issue with my invoices. I called and talk to the manager to let him know I would be that weekend too talk to him. So, on Feb 2, I and my wife went into Ashley Furniture to talk to the manager. He was busy, so are salesperson tended to us until the manager was available. So, I explained to the salesperson what was looking in an invoice "original price with the subtraction of the 50% and the final discounted price". So the salesperson told me that he had what I need. The salesperson took us to the counter where they process all the paperwork and told the lady behind the counter what he needs. The lady gave him the paper and instructed the salesperson that the paper was not to leave the building "which sounded sketchy". Well when the salesperson gave the paper to me to look at, lo and behold, there was all the information" original price with the subtraction of the 50% and the final discounted price" on Ashley invoices. Wow. When I saw their invoices, it had everything on there excepted the king size bed and I got 50% of the rest except for the one king size bed they did have their invoice. That when the salesperson told me that the other king size bed wasn't on my invoices. I had figure out what had happened. I took out 2 loans on what I had brought, and the manager applies everything I had got to the loans. Since the manager didn't give me the 50% off on the beds, the manager could only apply one bed on my loans. The manager never told what he had done and just let me walk out of Ashley on Feb 16 thinking I had 2 king size beds. Finally, I got to talk to the manager, and I let him know how I felt. Then I proceeded to tell him that I didn't need one of the loans because I would be paying cash for what I had applied to that loan. For some reason, the manager got a bad attitude and told me I could pay for it outside his office. Which didn't feel safe counting that much money out on the open showroom floor? Oh yeah, the head manager sits there and didn't do anything to help. Here is March 6 and the only thing Ashley has delivery is the dinette set. If I don't get a call by Fri for a delivery time for this Saturday. I'm coming for a refund. Thank you, Ashley, for letting me "disabled Vet" sleep on the floor. Why are there to different invoice. One kind for Ashley and a different one for the customers? Oh the clock, I have to drive to another city to pick it up. I purchased a sofa on 11/8 and my card was charged this very date but I was never given an estimated delivery date though the receipt said allow for 8-12 weeks. I Was told someone would call me with more specific information on delivery date. No one ever called. I went in to check on the delivery date on 12/29 and was told eta 3/4 for when it will come back in stock, mind you I was never told it was out of stock! So this date is the restock date and not even the delivery date so let add a couple of weeks to that) so I asked if I could cancel as that date is well beyond the 8-12 weeks estimated. Who waits that long for furniture? So the rep said I could cancel with no penalty after 8 weeks which would have been 1/3 which seemed fair and appropriate. So I come in on 1/9 to cancel and the so-called mgr John tells me I can't or I'll be charged a 10% cancellation fee since my order said 8-12 weeks estimated delivery, then gives me an eta of 2/20 which is STILL more than 12 weeks past the purchase date. He then gives me the number to "corporate" and tells me to call them on Monday and see what they are willing to do. Mind you, that day was Saturday. So I call them right then and there and low and behold, they answer! Stall tactic! This number was just guest services and they tell me that this is a store matter and it is within control of the store since the order has not yet been shipped out. I asked for this to be escalated to a mgr and the mgr asks to speak to the store mgr so I put it on speaker and hand my phone to John. All of a sudden he can't hear and there is "bad reception" so he takes my phone off speaker phone, starts walking off (with my phone) and asks her to call the store phone where I hear him tell her I just don't want to pay the cancellation fee. No sir!!! That is NOT the issue! The issue is the eta of my furniture is over 4 months (going on 5) from purchase and a representative from this store told me I could come in and cancel after 1/3 so I am here to do just that per those verbal instructions, LIAR!!! You are being deceptive for commission on furniture that has not been shipped and is not even in stock. Just give me my money! So the rep tells him bc the furniture has not been shipped he must take it up with regional mgmt who is apparently some gentleman named DJ. Ironically, DJ calls him on his cell phone as this is going down (which I don't believe for a second) and he tells me that DJ says to him that I must wait the full 12 weeks and if the order is not delivered by then only then can I get the refund. He then walks away. I asked to have the manager dispatched back to the front desk and he does not come back. I ask them at the customer service desk for this DJ person's last name and nobody seems to know anything. Everybody is deaf, dumb and blind at this point. So how does no one know the name of your regional manager??? And then I ask for a phone number and I was given a regular customer service number for Ashley Furniture. I am a filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and my credit card company. I felt like I was in a Ponzi Scheme. Horrible behavior and treatment. Next, i realized that the furniture that arrived did not match my order. Our rep screwed up our order. She ordered a different setup of the furniture. So the couch could not fit in our living room. Then, I informed the manager William about the mistake. He acts like we are lying to him. He tells us that we must pay an exchange fee of $160 for delivery and reshelving. I am usually a pretty easy going person, but I was being a little difficult when it came to a sofa for my new house. I got there 30 minutes before closing, sat on everything I liked, then came back 2 days later and switched sofas and had to redo the whole process. But Aziz was so patient and soooo helpful. my second time going back was a Saturday morning and it was CROWDED, but he made sure I was awesome service and he asked Iris to help me and she did an amazing job as well. This is the worst store. We are still waiting for a portion of our furniture to be delivered from April 2018 until October 2018. We have received damaged furniture 10 times in the last few months. The people are rude and inconsiderate. The store wants to charge us $150 to pick up pieces of furniture that they delivered and through no fault of ours we have not received furniture that is not damaged. The customer service once you buy the furniture is 0 as they act like it is your fault and your time is not valuable. I wish I could give Ashley zero stars; however, that option was not available. On March 1, 2019, I ordered the Coralayne dining room set with two extra chairs. The set was delivered on April 2, 2019, but one of the chairs was broken. I refused to accept the chair because it came broken and worked with the customer service department to receive a replacement chair. It is now April 23, 2019 and I am still waiting to receive this chair. In addition, after making a call to the customer service department about the chair, I realized another chair was missing a crystal. Initially, I was told a replacement chair would be delivered along with the other chair; however, I was later blamed for not meticulously inspecting my furniture to find the crystal upon initial delivery. Therefore, I was told I would only receive a replacement chair for the one that came broken and they would mail me a crystal, at which point I would have to call the customer service department to have someone come and put the crystal on the chair. During this whole ordeal, I have made several trips to Ashley HomeStore to speak with the store manager and multiple calls to the customer service department, and I have never experienced such horrible customer service like this before. Horrible experience. My wife and I went here to purchase a table and chairs. The store associate greeted me near the entrance with "what up my man". I stopped him to explain that my name is not "my man". Then, the store associate talked over me so I politely asked to speak with the manager. Another associate nearby responded that "The manager is over there smoking a cigarette". I walked toward the manager and he was indeed smoking a cigarette, with the door opened on the side of the store. Manager seemed agitated that I was complaining- Maybe because I was interrupting his smoke break?? The look on the managers face as he blew smoke was enough to make sure I never go there again. The manager was a heavy set white dude and was very agitated to receive a complaint during his smoking. I would recommend going somewhere else for all of your furniture needs. Particularly, if you are a hardworking professional in the DMV area looking for decent furniture, and ordinary respect as you shop. You work too hard to be treated the way I was.. recently purchased a bed and mattress from your store in Capital Heights on October 19, 2019. I explained that I was going out of town, and I was told that I wouldn't have to schedule a delivery date until I returned. Upon my arrival to my destination, I received word that I received a job and would need to move. I emailed your customer care department on October 19, 2019 explaining my situation. I did not get a response until October 25, 2019 and was told to go back to the store of the original purchase. I went to the store October 28, 2019 and was informed that the order would be cancelled but my $146.00 deposit would not be returned because I did not cancel until October 25, 2019 and they had a 3 day full refund policy. I explained that I emailed prior to this and the representative then informed me that their system had an October 25, 2019 and that I should come back with a copy of the original cancellation email and speak with the manager, Arsalan. I then returned on October 31, 2019 with the original email and spoke with Arsalan. He was very abrupt, extremely impolite and blatantly rude. I showed him the email and explained everything. He then told me there was nothing he could do because the system would not let him, and then he brushed me off and continued his day. I have an open account with Ashley Furniture and was going to keep my account open in order to furnish my home, but after this, I will pay off the rest of my account and will never patron your business again. Aside from the lack of internal communication, the delayed responses from customer care and the minimal reasoning behind not providing a full refund, the discourteous and ill mannered management is unacceptable. I will also assure that friends, family and or associated vendors will not patron your services as well. My wife and I purchased some bedroom furniture for our to young sons at the end of Sept. 2017. after several attempts to see the status of our delivery, we continue to get the same scripted answer. I have reached out to the store several times to speak with a manager. Each time i am told the manager will give me a call back. I have yet to receive a call. Yesterday I spoke to a nice young lady (whom seemed to have the most concern for my issue) named Dejah. She stated the manager, Jasmine, was out making a bank run and she would call me back. That hasn't happened. Today I was told the manager was on a "business call". At this point we are ready to cancel our order because of the lack luster customer service and what seems like Ashley Furniture's in ability to replenish stock within a reasonable amount of time(7 weeks and counting). We will definitely share this terrible experience with others. My furniture is paid in full. Yet I don't have any of it because there is no estimated shipping information and no one in the Capital Heights MD store can provide an update. read more

If I could give this establishment ZERO stars I would!! In my opinion, the customer service is seriously lacking and the employees are beyond unprofessional. Just looking at all of the posted reviews confirms that others agree. I specifically asked about the return/exchange policy when I purchased a box spring and mattress on February 18, 2019 and I was told I had three days to exchange the mattress and box spring. I made my decision to purchase based off of this information. Additionally, when I was given the paperwork for signature, I looked over the policies listed, and nowhere does it state that mattresses and box springs are not exchangeable. I immediately called the Capitol Heights store and inquired about exchanging the box spring upon delivery. I was told on March 5, 2019 that I could exchange the box spring and I was instructed to call customer service when they opened at 10:00 am the next morning. The next morning I called customer service and was given a totally different policy. When I later spoke to the manager, Ansalan, regarding the discrepancy, he stated that he "would not have said I had 3 days to exchange/return the mattress/box spring"; so basically he called me a liar. He further stated "that the policy is that you have 30 days to return/exchange the mattress under a 30 day test guarantee, and the policy is through Serta, and it does not apply to the box spring." Naturally, I looked up the Serta 30 day policy and called Serta (at this point I don't trust any information given to me by Ashley Homestore). According to Serta, their 120 in home trial applies to BOTH the foundation (box spring) and the mattress. AGAIN I was given misinformation by Ashley Homestore. However, now the issue is whether I can even apply the guarantee since Ashley Homestore is a third party. One would think Ashley Homestore would not mention a return/exchange policy that doesn't apply to their purchases??? Do yourself a favor and avoid this location at all costs! I received the worst customer service today from the manager herself. I went in on the sept 6th to buy furniture and have it delivered. I told my sales rep I only wanted the pieces if the were in stock, which I was assured they were. I choose a living room sectional. When it came time to talk price a male manager again assured me it was in stock and went over final pricing details with me so I applied for financing and thought I was done but no. When I was waiting to pay I was then told furniture was out of stock and would take over a month or so which left me dissatisfied. I left that day unhappy. Later that evening the sales rep called and apologized but I did not go back. Today I received a message saying that they have my furniture in stock which I thought was great even though I didn't order it so I was a bit confused. I was then informed by a female employee that I would have to pay a additional $125 to get my same furniture delivered when it was supposed to be free. I asked for a manager to discuss this confusion and she was quite rude and told me that she would rather not have my business over taking off the delivery fee that I was never supposed to have been charged in the first place. Purchased furniture from this location to furnish my new home and I am still waiting on my items. In the beginning they never tell you that your items will take 5 months to be delivered, they sell you on 4-6 weeks timeframe but most items are delivered in 2 weeks, what a crock of BS. I have called and called and called and all I get is the runaround. Even with all the crap they tell me over the phone, they never once say that my items are on backorder, so where is my furniture. Finally got a manager who was half way helpful, but now he is no longer there and when I asked what was the new managers name the young lady didn't want to disclose that information to me. I see that this illusiveness is this store's practice which is not good for business. I have written a letter to corporate and hopefully something comes of it, if not, I will go a little further. All in all, my experience with this store has been horrible and I was probably better off going somewhere else. I do not recommend anyone to purchase from this store. I know for a fact I won't be back, give you one chance to burn me, won't get me again. read more
