Don't order furniture from here, or any other Ashley's for that matter. Their customer service is trash, the managers don't care about you or the lies that they tell you out their mouth. I ordered furniture from them and was informed of the wait period and I was okay with it originally but life changes and I needed furniture sooner. So I found all the furniture I needed on Wayfair and went to Ashley's to pay my fee and cancel my order and they conned me into switching my order into something they claimed was currently in stock at the warehouse and would be delivered within the next week. Fast forward to the next week (yesterday) and half my order arrives and part of the half that arrives is damaged the delivery driver told the warehouse it was damaged and the warehouse advised them to send it anyway RED FLAG. So I rejected the item and requested a new one, called the manager and he stayed that he would resend the new item out with my other two missing items (two nightstands) THIS WEEK and he would call me with a date/time; he never called RED FLAG. So I called and they gave me a delivery date of 12 November RED FLAG. At this point I'm livid, I have family sleeping in a hotel because they have no where to sleep since my furniture is missing pieces. So I leave work and drive to the store and all of the sudden he's emailing the warehouse to see if they can squeeze me in this week. When YESTERDAY YOU GUARANTEED IT WOULD BE DELIVERED THIS WEEK. AVOID THIS STORE THEY WILL LIE TO YOU REPEATEDLY JUST TO GET YOU OUT THEIR FACE! IF MY FURNITURE ISNT HERE BY THIS FRIDAY YALL CAN COME PICK UP THE 2 PIECES YOU DROPPED OFF THAT ARE COLLECTING DUST. Do not purchase anything from this store and do not throw additional money out the window by purchasing their "protection plan." First it's not Ashley doing the actual work. They sell your info to another company named GBS and they are responsible for repairs. Nothing I hate more than buying a service and product from company A and then finding out company B is actually doing the work and YOU the buyer are on your own to schedule and follow up with a company you have never dealt with. It's a shady way of doing business. GBS is horrible and they go out of their way to avoid providing the service you purchased. Ashley shrugged their shoulders and could care less. read more

Shante and Sam were great! I was a bit apprehensive about using this store based on the current reviews, but ended up pleasantly surprised. Sam was knowledgeable about furniture and pricing and Shante was clear and friendly when explaining what happens next. I would recommend them without hesitation. Before coming to this Capitol Heights Ashley location we read the reviews, and saw this location was consistently earning one and two star reviews. I figured we just need a simple kitchen table set, how could they possibly mess this up?? Dena our salesperson was GREAT to work with and was very knowledgeable. She was able to give suggestions and answer product questions quickly and confidently. Unfortunately that is about where the positive part of this review ends. We come in, find a kitchen table set we like, do all the paper work and 35 minutes later, out the door. We were under the impression we would be scheduling delivery of our table set within the 2-6 week window they quoted us during the checkout process. Needless to say, this was not the case, actually far from it. At the seven week mark, we began calling trying to get a status of our set. This is when the real issues started, the customer service staff at this location leaves a lot to be desired. They answer the phone with a negative attitude as if you are bothering them, as they provide minimal information from what appears to be scripted answers. I'm not expecting them to be overly exuberant about the exciting world of furniture sales, but I would expect to get realistic answers to my questions about the whereabouts of my furniture and not just fed some arbitrary timelines to get me off the phone. After all they do get paid to answer phones and interact with customers, if this is not something they are willing to do without sounding agitated, they may be in the wrong profession. After getting the same "it will be here by the end of the week" answer for 2 weeks in a row, I requested to speak with a member of the management team. (More than 2 months of waiting with no concrete delivery date of my table to the warehouse in sight) I was thoroughly disappointed with the uninspired and lazy demeanor of the various customer service agents I spoke with, that was until I spoke to John H. who was allegedly the Store Manager, then it all made sense to me. While John was willing to talk in circles about the parts of my order that were sitting in the warehouse (chairs) and how long they had been there, he was not willing to discuss whereabouts of the other part of my order (table) and what was the holdup. He was pushing for me to set up delivery of my table set that they didn't have. I'm sure this was just a move to get me off the phone. I'm also sure had I agreed to schedule delivery, I would have been contacted the day before (probably the day of) with some reason as to why the table has still not been received in the warehouse, but "it will be in by the end of the week." Tired of waiting and more so being tired of being fed bad information, I requested to end the waiting game and just cancel my order. I was then informed by John, since I wanted to cancel my order I would incur a 10% automatic charge and there is NOTHING he could do about stopping that fee. After chatting with him for about 2 minutes about how I was not willing to nor was I going to pay a cancellation fee due to their incompetence, I realized he wasn't empowered or not willing to assist. I requested to speak to his boss and allegedly there is no one above him at that location, so he provided me a number to customer service that I don't believe to be a real number since no one has answered after letting it ring about 50 times on Friday and again on Monday at 2:00 pm. So I called another Ashley Furniture location and got a real customer service number(301.782.3802), after a brief explanation of my situation within minutes my order was canceled without incurring the "automatic" 10% order cancelation fee. This customer service agent informed me that everything John was telling me was untrue and they have received several calls about this particular Ashley location. If Todd Wanek (CEO of Ashley Furniture) were to pay a visit to this Capitol Heights location, or better yet call and speak to customer service or management, I am almost certain he would suggest cleaning house, and assembling a team of employees who understands what customer service is all about and have the personalities and the willingness to provide it. The sad part is, the sales team does such a good job, that it's unfortunate they have to lose out on sales due to the poor customer service between the time of purchase and furniture delivery. read more

The Ashley Furniture store employees at Ritchie Station are con artists and they took advantage of me. When I choose my couch, the sales person said if I didn't like the couch I chose, I could get a "full refund" (I have witnesses). But, long story short, I chose a couch, the delivery people refused to bring to couch to my unit because it "wouldn't bring it up the stairs," (and as a small female who can't carry a couch myself, along with the language barrier, what was I suppose to do) so it was returned. When I went to the store, the manager told me my options were to choose a different couch or they'd only refund me 70% of the (very expensive) couches that were returned. Just go to Bob's Discount Furniture. They literally have the same selection of furniture for less and they won't make you feel like you're being swindled by a sketchy car dealer. Good stuff and very fair prices. I would definitely recommend if you don't care when you get products. Stuff "in stock" magically goes to back order after purchase and expected date of delivery is blown past with no end in sight. Covid can cause a lot of supply chain issues, not this debacle. And forget about customer service, email address on invoice are ignored as are other attempts at resolution. And you can't pull the lug and go elsewhere unless you want to start again, which is clear they count on. So go there if you have six months and don't care about customer service. read more

This was absolutely the WORST Ashley's Furniture I have ever stepped foot in. I came in with a coupon, a very specific idea of the items I needed, and the card to purchase. Simple right? Not so much. I was greeted by friendly associates. When taken to the back by one woman, I asked if I could use the 60% coupon that was mailed to me with a CLEAR expiration date and she said: "this is not valid." After some pushback, she checked with the manager who said it was. Mind you, the coupon had about another week left. The rest of my experience was absolutely awful. I felt hounded by the associate and the manager to add on an overpriced mattress (discovered Ashley's Online mattress in a Box). I tried to ask for assistance with online orders and they said they "could not help. The prices they had online for items were higher in the store. So I have over $1200 worth of purchase and the woman at check out said it would be 6 weeks before the items would have been delivered. Yet, I told the associate I needed them within two weeks for family coming. I felt that neither the store manager or the associate listened to my needs. They were so set on making a sale they even got loud and an attitude with me when I was asking questions about the total cost. Needless to say, I canceled the order right there in the store because the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. I have been shopping at Ashley's Furniture since 2013, and now I'm done thanks to Capitol Heights. I finally get a call from a customer service rep (that should be changed to customer service rudeness expert) named Madison. She was rude and unhelpful. She couldn't find a good date to have the furniture delivered, so she has the nerve to say. Well Ashley Furniture HomeStore doesn't care, and I had purchased the dining set. Hi I am giving an honest review. I've purchased almost $5000 worth of furniture and the sales person that assisted me was helpful. Then it was downhill from there, I understood that due to Covid some of my pieces would be delayed and that was fine. When I called to check on my furniture, I was presented with rude and disrespectful sales staff. At one point one of the sales staff forgot to put me on hold and I overheard a very disrespectful conversation about myself, calling to get information on my order. They were unwilling to help me and worst made me feel bad about calling to get an ETA on my delivery. My order was pushed back three day times and the only reason I knew was because I called. When I went into the store to cancel that's when people attempted to be helpful and say everyone is experiences issues. That's also when I found out my order was pushed out again with no call from the store. Not once did anyone reach out to me. They literally take your money and there is no follow-up. The customer service was so bad that I paid the $295 to cancel my order in order to have peace and clarity around what I have purchased. Please please in these times it not worth taking the financial hit I endured during this process. I went to value city and received great customer service and I explained my nightmare from this location and they assured me of their professionalism. They sent me a link to track my purchase and I was able to get furniture delivered to my home the same week. I would avoid this store at all cost. It was the most frustrating two months I have ever experienced buying furniture. Proceed with caution when purchasing. It's not worth it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! The actual quality of the furniture is average, but the customer service in this store is horrendous. I expect to receive offers as I walk in, but not stalked around the store. I ended up buying a love seat and couch for a really great deal and the sales person was nice, except the display in the store was different than what I received. When I asked to make an EXCHANGE on JUST the pillows (the merchandise still had tags on it), all of a sudden the friendly, stalkerish sales people disappeared. The store manager was unwilling to do an exchange or even let me return the furniture even though there were no written policies against either request. The corporate number is a joke. DO NOT PURCHSASE FROM THIS STORE! THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORSE! I purchased 2 living room sets and a bedroom set from this store in October 2017 we explained at that time that the furniture was going to go to two different houses and they said OK we can accommodate that. The furniture was to be delivered in December 2017 as me and my mom were moving into our new places at that time. The furniture was not delivered until January 10 2018. A month later after me running around and calling around about my furniture. I believe it was only finally delivered because I had contacted corporate and requested a refund. Mighty funny that the next day I got a call with a delivery date. Cool! Finally happy to have my furniture. So they delivered to both locations the one living room set came to my house and the second living room set and bedroom set went to my mothers house. Fast forward to November 2018! The bed on my sleeper sofa stopped working. It wouldn't go into the sofa anymore. I contacted the store and was told my warranty expired. I informed them It couldn't have because I didn't receive my furniture until this year. And that I just needed someone to come look at it and tell me what's going on. Found out the Warranty is still effective. I had to email pictures, call to follow up and finally got someone to come out in JANUARY!! By now its 2 months of fighting to get someone out and no sofa. The person came and stated I needed a new frame and that they will call to schedule the appointment to repair. 2 weeks later I receive a call stating they have to order the part and would call me to schedule when its in. Well it is now February 4th and I have yet to hear from anyone. I called the repair people at 1-800-774-8700 and they don't have any repair tickets or anything for me! WOWWWWW So now I have to fight with the store and figure out what the hell is going on. So I believe its gonna probably be another month before I get my sofa fixed! At this point I really just want my money back and to be done with these people. They are unprofessional and slow! To whom it may concern, On October 22, 2017, I bought a king mattress, a king sleigh bed and night 3.0 performance pillows from your store in Capital Heights, Maryland. I was promised by the store manager Arsalon and the salesman, Aziz, that I would get a return call about the pillows the next day. I never received a call the next day, so I called and left a message. My phone calls were never returned regarding the status of the pillows or when I could pick them up. Instead, I was met with a rude condescending attitude from different sales people. On That Wednesday, I managed to get in touch with the manager who told me that he would check the warehouse and was then told that he had to order the pillows. On Friday, I got a call from the Capital heights store telling me that my furniture would be delivered next week and that the night 3.0 Performance pillows were at the store to be picked up. I went to the store on Friday, October 27, 2017, only to be told that the pillows were not there. I had traveled from Washington during rush hour and was told by the Manager, Arsalon that there was a computer glitch and the pillows were not there. The manager promised me he would deliver the pillows to my house. I called him Friday to reconfirm that promise but to date, I have not received a return phone call about the pillows. I have a whole house to furnish but because of the awful customer service by your Capital heights, MD. store, I plan to never spend another penny at an Ashley Home Store. To date, the delivery of the pillows that were a part of my order have not been resolved. I don't think I should have to waste my time going back to the store when the pillows weren't there when promised and the manger promised to personally deliver them. Before I went into this location, I searched online. I walked in the door and was greeted by a Sales Person. He was polite and offered me no tax and free delivery. However, once I made it into the store to browse, I noticed the prices were increased by $200-300. I bought this to their attention and managers decided NOT to include the free delivery and no tax since I wanted the prices from online. I did not take that option. Hello All, I would like to share my experience at Ashley Furniture Home located in Capital Height. With this being a new location, I was extremely excited about going in and purchasing new furniture for my new home. Upon arrival in June 3 of 2017 during the memorial day sale my partner and I found the perfect sofa and love seat of our choice. After spending roughly over $1200.00 on our initial visit we were excited with our choice. They provided us with a ETA within 6weeks timeframe. (Which range from 2 to 6 weeks max). The next day I received an email informing me that they were extending their memorial day sale until the COB on Monday June 5,2017. So I called the customer service number to see if they could honor the online price which was $372.00 less. I was told definitely just return to the store and make the changes. Upon going into the store I spoke with the front desk "manager" named Dominique who was really unprofessional, and informed me that she will make the changes but I would now have to pay a delivery fee. Being puzzled to why that would be the case since I made the purchase yesterday and no delivery fee was applied. She informed me since they honored the online fee that's policy. But I informed her that I would be added lamps to the order to subsuite the original price. So after calling the corporate customer service and explaining my concerns and what I'm trying to accomplished they were able to waive the delivery fee in addition to adding the lamps. I was informed to go back into the store to get my refund of $78.00 and a new inventory receipt. Allowing time I did wait for a ETA for about 2 weeks and was informed my items will be ready for a schedule delivery on June 26. This date was changed again to July 4 and then again to July 14. After being extremely frustrated I called back into the store and recieved numerous incorrect from the customer service reps. Assuming they were frustrated with me calling every two to six days they being not answering my calls. So I decided to call from my job requesting the store manager Will. After speaking to Will and numerous of communication he was able to get a two day delivery date. Upon the arrival of the delivery they furniture wouldn't make it through the front door due to my narrow entryway and the laziness of the contractor that was hired I was back at step one. I notified Will letting him know what occurred and was advised to come back in to see if we could get a floor model, which I disagreed upon, and asked what was the refund policy. I was informed that they would charge me 30% cancellation fee (380.00). Hell No. After going back into the store on Sunday we had to pretty much settle and additional to spending a addition 300.00 which my partner and I wasn't pleased about. This morning I called to see if they can provide me with an ETA but wasn't able to get anyone at store. After reaching back out to corporate I was informed I had a balance still remaining on my ticket and they were unable to provide me with an ETA. I would need to get this issue clear with the store. I had a great customer service experience here! I was warmly greeted by Dena (same name as me, so I took it as a good sign) who was very patient with me and got me everything I needed. The delivery people went out of their way to assist me, even when I had to return my box spring because it wouldn't fit up my stairs. All of my furniture came, by box spring replacement went smoothly, and everyone was super helpful. Dena was especially great about making sure everything had been taken care of. I did have to reach out a few times to check on some things, but all of my questions were answered and I have everything that I ordered. I would give them 4 stars because the phone communication could be much improved, but the extra service I received from Dena and the delivery service bumped them up! I would have liked to give this store no stars if possible. I went in because they had a huge sign for a major 40-60% off sale. From the second I walked in I was greeted by a very pushy sales women. I explained to her that I just wanted to look around first, and I would find her if I had any questions. After looking around and see this wasn't even a really good sale, the women approached me again. Only five minutes after I told her I just wanted to look. ZERO STARS! Full disclosure: I was completely unsure of what I wanted when I walked in the store. I went in on Labor Day weekend when everything in the store was "50% off". Once I decided what I wanted, and it was time to talk cost, their markup was 4x the internet price! I wish I would've called it quits then. I was told they price match, I was okay with that. I was taken in this catch-all office with this guy and he was the one that fixed the prices all while adding $150 convenience fee on to my price-matched prices. I was told shipping took anywhere from 2 to SIX weeks (putting my delivery date from anywhere between 9/15 and sometime in October!!) I pay (I paid with my debit card ALL $2100 upfront) with hopes that my delivery takes less than the complete delivery window. For the past week I've been calling the numbers they have listed on the invoice and my receipt (2 different numbers BTW) and I get a busy signal. Today (September 22nd) I go into the store and I'm told their phones came back up today (how coincidental) and if I were to initiate a return, I'd be charged a 10% convenience fee since my items are still on order. So I've been looking for a new bedroom set and through the advice of my mother decided to visit this Ashley Furniture location. I figured with the Labor Day sales, this was a great time to purchase. When we walked in the store the sale rep Ketta was at the front door, now she greeted my mother but didn't even acknowledge me. In my opinion the store was a bit cluttered, I prefer furniture stores that group the furniture based on the specific room, but understand spacing furniture throughout the store is a sales tactic. So as we look around the store, I had the time to gather my questions as I narrowed down the sets I liked. Ketta approached my mother again asking if she could help her, again Ketta never said anything to me. There was another sales rep in the store who was really nice, she asked if I had any questions and that's when all of a sudden Ketta saw me and rudely came over interrupting the conversation telling the other rep that I was her customer. I'm still shocked she actually thought I would purchase something from her after the way I was treated. I ended leaving the store and not making a purchase but there is a set at the location that I really like. If I do return for a purchase I know who won't be helping me solely based on principle. When you work in a commission and a customer service based environment, you should treat ever person with respect and kindness, you never know who your next customer will be. read more

The manager was very rude and threw his cell phone down when I did not purchase the mattress he suggested and walked away. Mr. Aziz another salesman and the assistant manger completed the purchase which was an adjustable bed and mattress on Octoober9, 2017. My order was delivered October 23 2017 and I did not receive a warranty, I called customer service and they referred me to the store; the same manager stated he would have one a few hours to come back later I did and he gave me a warranty with print so small I could not read it and I asked for a larger print he said that's all he could. I have shopped at Ashley's in Frederick, Md. and received excellent service but I will not shop at another Ashley store especially Capitol Heights, Md. until I receive my warranty for my adjustable bed and mattress. I bought the a sofa and loveseat in November, great customer service at the store. Got it in December. Last week noticed my leg was crocked. I discovered that the a piece of the frame is broken. Not sure how..to be honest but my point is 7 months.. no warranty or protection to help. The furniture isn't designed well and now I just wasted over $600 dollars. My wife brought a couch from Ashley and found out later after I took the measurement that it would not fit so we look on line for another because the store didn't have a smaller one. first of all the prices that they quote on the internet is far from the price they are in the store . The store us a zen like ability to calm ones nerves and the manager is simply amazing and not a bad dresser at all. She made sure all my needs and questions were taken care of even though I was just window shopping. Waited almost 8 weeks on my sectional. Received it, it was too large for my space. Instead of the delivery guy letting us know that he just put a sectional in our basement on two separate sides of the basement he was about to leave until my fiance said something. They took it back and the store would only offer us store credit. So we have $1100 in store credit. We go to the store look around for a sofa chaise (being helped by a manager), and find what we like but just to be told it would be another "2-6" weeks ... so we settle and say ok what is in stock. While they didn't have the actual sofa chaise in the store, she shows us a sofa that would have the chaise piece attached. We say ok where will the chaise be positioned she pointed on the left of the couch as we would like and as we ordered for our sectional. The chaise sofa was half of what we paid so because they didn't want to give us our money back for the remaining balance we had to just purchase a bunch of stuff we did not come there for. We get home, I am excited that we was able to get something delivered by Friday (it is Monday at this time), I look it up online to see the actual sofa chaise with a right chaise position. I called the manager back and she was very unprofessional with an oh well attitude, like come back in and just find something else. So now we have to find another couch which wouldn't be in stock and have to wait an additional 2-6 weeks. this place is trash, unprofessional, and don't know how to care for their customers. This store has dropped the ball on our order from day one. We placed an order on August 2nd and as of today the items were paid for still aren't straight. The customer service is at its worst. No one wants to take responsibility and the worst part is that they don't even have any empathy towards their clients when it comes to frustration. I will never order anything again from Ashley Furniture. Even if they were giving away free furniture I wouldn't take it. Caution the company also owns Marlow and Regency. I would think twice prior to giving them your business. They are glad to take your money but after that they could care less. He and the store manager accommodated my husband and I with a price match from the website. The CSR, Shante was very helpful and professional with the information she provided to us as well. Aziz the sales rep was awesome. He allowed me to shop, ponder, and assisted me with my final decision. The customer service reps leave a lot to be desired as there a couple of hiccups with the delivery and they weren't willing to assist. However, when I got to the manager Jasmine, she was very understanding and immediately arranged for the wrong headboard and damaged nightstand to be exchanged the following day. I went to Ashley Furniture in Capitol Heights, MD on Saturday, August 11, 2018. All the sales associates were preoccupied so I started to walk around and then one guy looked up and told another associate, Valerie, to assist me. She asked me what I was looking for and I told her, a sectional, so she proceeded to show me the sectionals they had and informed me that they were having a half price sale. So, the customer service was good until I asked about the fabric content of one of the sectionals. I asked if it was microfiber and she said no, but she couldn't tell me what it was. I saw a headboard that I was interested in and asked about the size and she said king. I knew it wasn't a king, but it didn't have a tag on it. I was interested in the price and she did not try to find out. I was somewhat interested in a sectional and was asking questions, but she got preoccupied in signing greeting cards and I realized she felt she wasn't going to get a sale, so the customer service was over. I walked around looking at other furniture and when I got to the front, I asked for her card and thanked her. I suggest this store get proper customer service training. Who wants to spend their hard earned money in a store that doesn't seem to value the customer's buying experience? read more
