The process of buying furniture from this store has been such an awful experience. I was quoted a 8-12 week delay on the delivery of my furniture due to COVID delays. I waited the ENTIRE 3 months patiently as my babies ate, sat and slept on the floor for my furniture to arrive. After the 12 weeks were up, I called the store to see if there could be a resolution, such as, deliver my furniture that's just sitting in the warehouse now and deliver the rest later. The young lady with the nasty attitude assured me that her manager would give me a call back because "he's busy" and I still have yet to hear from anyone. My children are sitting on the floor, eating on the floor and sleeping on the floor because Ashley Furniture is waiting for a TWIN BED and CHAISE to arrive to the warehouse before they will deliver the rest of my furniture. Now I am ready to cancel my entire older but I cannot get in touch with anyone. All I wanted as a customer was a resolution because the delivery timeframe is outside of the 8-12 weeks I was promised. Now I'm being forced to take matters to Yelp, Twitter and the Better Business Bureau because after they collect your money, you cannot get quality service. Word of advice: After contacting the corporate office, I was told VA and MD locations are not apart of the corporate structure. These are franchise stores and apparently are allowed to do whatever they want. I cannot speak for the other MD and VA locations but I can say this location is extremely unprofessional, not willing to offer service to the customer and is practicing unfair business acumen read more

If I based this only on my initial experience, it would have been 5 stars. Kevin was amazing as a salesman. But, somewhere they messed up my order and when I called, they acknowledged the error but never followed up. When I called, "Casey" hung up on me twice, and another CSR hung up on me twice, which prompted me to go to the store. When I arrive, of course, "Casey" was gone. I initially asked for Casey's name but they refused to provide it. I spoke to the manager Kiera, whose demeanor was so poor, she did nothing to address the young ladies hanging up on me, then refused to refund me stating my item was "in transit" and would take 5 days to arrive (15 miles distance between DC and store) although it was promised on 7/17. Then, she accused me of taking pictures of one of the girls who was so rude when I was on FT with my sister who wanted to see a picture hanging on the wall. I told her I didn't take a picture and offered to show her my phone but she refused and rather told me to leave. I advised I wasn't leaving without a refund or the merchandise I had already paid for on 7/15. She called the police. When the police arrived, that's when I was able to get Casey's name (they volunteered it to the police but refused to provide it to me citing privacy). Unfortunately, their actions caused Kevin to lose his commission on my sale and thwarted my plans to return to purchase furniture as I just moved into a new home and my son just moved into his own apartment. I reached out to their corporate office and they have yet to respond. They lost a customer for sure. Been shopping at Ashley for more than 20 years. Havertys just gained a customer. read more

Decided to try a different Ashley Furniture location after having a horrible experience at the Waldorf location. Went to the Upper Marlboro location explained what happened at the Waldorf location and was promised they would do a better job. I ordered furniture back in January of 2021 it's now June 5, 2021 and I still haven't received my furniture so when I call to get an update they talk to you all dumb founded look like I will be going up there to get a full refund of my money. I went to the store several times to speak with a manager and to my dismay both were not professional and untrustworthy. I was finally fed up and requested my money back. i got a refund but after 15 days realized my money still had not been refunded. I recently purchased some furniture and accessories (lamp and mattress protector) from this location. I paid, and was scheduled a delivery date for all of my items. On the delivery date, I received the wrong bed and my accessories were not included. I was then told that I would have to wait 72hrs before I could reschedule. A restocking fee was added and I had to wait for that to be removed before scheduling delivery. The salesman, Therlow promised me that I would receive all of my items on a particular date and that never happened. I reached out to Therlow and he never responded. I had to call and reschedule my delivery. When I finally received my bed, the accessories were not delivered. I called and inquired about my items and was told that they do not deliver accessories (which I should have been told when I purchased them) and if I wanted them I would had to go to the Brandywine location to pick them up. I then requested a refund and was told I would have to go to the store and request a "cancellation" and I would incur a cancellation fee. So, again the customer is inconvenienced when the store made the error. This was one of the worst customer service experiences! This company has some archaic policies that make it difficult for their customers. I will never buy anything from Ashley Furniture again!There is also no formal customer service department. Super nice service but horrible results! I came here to buy a bed and mattress because I knew my furniture wouldn't be here for weeks! I ordered my bed and mattress (not to mention paid $3100) on the day I arrived. I was told the mattress (the most important purchase) would be here in a week. Well, it's been four weeks, and I'm barely getting it. And I was supposed to get the frame too, but now I find out that the foot board has been "damaged" and now I have to wait longer for my bed! Update: in an unusual coincidence, I posted this review and two days later got a call that my furniture was in. They scheduled delivery two weeks out, we were not given a choice of time window. We are now the proud owners of furniture that we bought and paid for in full at the beginning of the year! The delivery came within the expected time window, and the delivery people were quick and efficient. Again, I understand delays due to covid. But Ashley needs to update its software or something so they can provide a baseline level of acceptable customer service. Zero stars. Negative one star. The most atrocious, unstable and displeasing consumer experience I have ever had. After ordering an entire living room set that was quoted to arrive within 8 weeks, I still had not received my purchase after 3 months. Upon returning to the store to request cancellation of purchase the manager succeeded in convincing my husband (me by association) to wait another week and I would receive the pieces that had already arrived and he would work on providing me an additional discount to make up for the wait. BIG MISTAKE! When the third party delivery service arrived, the loveseat came off of the truck damaged which let me know that it was not brand new. So, why, pray tell, have I been waiting so long?!?!?!? Then, as they two men (no hand truck or other delivery tools whatsoever) attempted to bring the sofa upstairs after getting it inside the house, the broke the sofa and put a hole underneath my stairwell. My experience with Alphatrus was every bit of exceptional. From the time i came in the store to the time i left Alphatrus greeted me and made sure that i was confident and knowledgeable about all of the different furniture for my ideal rooms. I will add that i came in the store feeling overwhelmed from the previous shop experience i had at another store. When i initially entered the store i tried to avoid the salesmen because i wanted to grab exactly what i wanted and nothing more. Moving strategically Alphatrus spotted me and tried his best to greet me and assist. Finally he walked up to me and greeted me. He went above and beyond to make sure i chose the right furniture for each room. He took into consideration my style, color scheme and overall price limit and pointed me in the right direction. He explained every detail and answered about a 1000 questions lol. He also took his time to explain the differences between each brand and pricing that i had thoughts about in the future. He was patient, funny, outgoing and even flexible especially when it came to getting me EXACTLY what i wanted. Though we walked all over the store several times he again made sure i left feel confident in my purchase. I just finished my pity​ party crying spell because I am so frustrated and feel powerless having to pay for DAMAGED furniture. My furniture was delivered on October 31, 2018,​ and was damaged by the delivery staff. The sofa bed does not work as well. I had surgery and ordered the sofa bed for my caregiver. The entire time I am fighting breast cancer I have been fighting ASHELY FURNITURE to have my furniture repaired. My caregiver had no place to sleep which leaves me with no caregiver overnight after having a bilateral mastectomy​. I am in lots of pain and still healing and dealing with this as of date. The leather on the furniture was damaged​ revealing the white fibers in​ several​ areas along with a broken sofa bed. I just called 800.774.8700 and spoke to Jackie to find out that Yancy did not forward my claim to have my furniture repaired and am now on hold to speak with her which is a long hold time. Keep in mind that I am still responsible for paying for damaged furniture. I have not heard from my salesperson who was informed​ of this issue to help resolve this issue. I cannot express my extreme disappointment enough about my experience with Ashley Furniture. After months of searching for a dinette set, my husband and I found the right color and style at Ashley Furniture in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. That was the only thing that was good. In the store the table was a little wobbly. We were assured by the salesman this is a store setup that "when it's delivered and setup in your home it won't do that". We said "okay" and continued to make the purchase. We waited two weeks or so and the set arrived. After it was together, it looked fine, but I touched the table, the wobble was worse than in the store! The delivery team was unsuccessful fixing this by tightening the screws and then said we need to get an area rug to provide stability and they would let the store know. Within the hour of delivery, I called to confirm there was a problem and the representative said "it still says out for delivery and she couldn't make a note until changed to delivered". I called for three days following and I never received a call back. I could not reach a manager. Finally, a salesperson says we have to come back into the store to set up to return the furniture. I have never dealt with any company where I had to go back into the store to resolve a concern or issue. We get into the store that weekend only to be told we were past the return period. This is one of their tactics, to delay you so you fall beyond the return period. It's now September, and after numerous complaints they contact us to schedule an appointment to attempt to fix the table. Embarrassing to them they tighten the screws again and the table is still wobbly. This place is a joke! BUYER BEWARE! Even with a clearly defective table ASHLY FURNITURE, would rather stall, frustrate and continue to lie to customers instead of providing customer satisfaction. I went to Ashley Furniture in Capital Heights today to purchase a set for my family room, basement and a desk for my home office. I called to ensure the pieces I selected online were available in the store. I spoke with Dozae and he had a great attitude and told me to come in. I live an hour away and explained that I would stop painting my bathroom and be on my way. I get there and a young lady says "this customer is here to see you" he walks pass me. I say "wow, that was rude" He said you did not look like a customer... (I pissed thinking I'm a person, not dressed to shop, yet still a human). I went to Ashley last week to purchase a bedroom suite and tempur-pedic mattress with an adjustable base because I heard they were the best. My sales person Sean was extremely helpful with assisting in my decision making. I was turned off when I saw an employee sleeping and other employees talking loudly and cursing. But after I start to put my books into it I noticed the damage which look like the distressed look of the cabinet and the blood. I called them within the time required and for a month after that but the line was busy. When I finally got someone they refused to address the damage or the fact that I got a blood cover delivery during a pandemic. I was a little offended by that. Less than a year later the cushions on the couch start to wear down and when I asked them for an exchange they gave me the runaround and referred me to another place. Let's start of with the customer service in the store, the first time I went there I had 2 sales reps fighting over a sale because my original sales rep showed up in the middle of my finishing my sale with a rep that was on duty. It made me very uncomfortable. I bought a 3 piece table set and a rug back on May 13th 2017. It's currently July 23rd 2017. I was promised a 4-6 week time for them to get my rug in stock at the store. I went into the store to complain and I said my rug was promised to be delivered to me within 4-6 weeks, one of the customer service reps had the nerve to get smart with me saying "we don't deliver rugs", as if the rug wasn't already 4 weeks late anyway, she knew exactly what I meant. However she informed me that the rug will be delivered to the WAREHOUSE (not the store) on August 7th, which means I won't be getting my rug until August 10th or 11th (long sigh). Why is the rug not being rushed to the store when it's already a month late? I've been getting the run around on this for about 2 weeks. That was one issue, the other issue I had was with the table set, a piece of it fell off literally a week after I purchased it and I was told that it wasn't covered under warranty because it was the floor model. It doesn't say that on the receipt at all, their remedy was for me to haul this piece of furniture in so they could look at it. I don't even own a truck, so I ended up having to fix it myself. This store is terrible, the furniture is cheap and severely overpriced, the only reason the furniture sells is because of the "Ashley" name. They always have some kind of ridiculous sale going on and it's a scam, because I come to the store a lot, they boost the prices up and cut them down to make it seem like a sale. I wish we had never visited this store. It took them 2 months to deliver the wrong mattress. They never updated us - we always had to reach out to them. They are currently giving us the runaround about replacing it with the one we actually ordered. The manager recently advised my wife to "just dispute the charge on your credit card - it's what people do." Apparently this is an ongoing issue. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I went to this store to purchase a sectional with ottoman and bed. The store was having a 70% off sale off furniture and 30% off mattresses and they pay your sales taxes. I understand there's a shortage on furniture but I made sure I selected a bed that was available to be delivered to my new home. I was reassured over and over that the bed was available and to be delivered on my move date. I called the delivery dept to find out that my bed wasn't available only to be delivered 2 weeks later than told. I then called the store and spoke to a wonderful lady about what I was told. She reviews my order online to see that not only my bed delivery was pushed back but they had 2 bed sets on my order and not my sectional. I lost it. The manager was kind enough to tell me I can get a refund. So I go to the store and the GM tried to say he can give us back $459 on a bed and they'll delivered my bed in 9/7!!! Umm sir no...where's my sectional I had on my order. He tried to say that was a discontinued sectional for the price we were paying and it's sold! I said no, your entire store was on sale at 70% off the day I came in. He looked dumbfounded and my husband said "so we paid $3000 for 2 beds?!?" Again, the GM looked dumbfounded. My husband told him to refund us our money!!! Our money hit our acct 5 business days later and we took our business to Bobs furniture store weee we got our sectional and king bed delivered to us 3 days after we moved in! Muhammad stepped away and as we were waiting it was getting close to the store closing time. Nevertheless we wait on Muhammad, five mins later she had the audacity to ask us again who were we waiting on .. at the point I'm irritated because she was already making comments about the time and how she was ready to go. So we just left.......... BUT WAIT I CAME BACK.... so I ended up getting the sofa set someone where however Ashley did have a mattress I like. We meet with Muhammad again...he apologized for what happened last time we pick the mattress out had to customer service and John store manager checked us out. We decided to pick the mattress up vs having it delivered because he came in a box. The warehouse didn't have it in stock. I was told it would take five business days to arrive. Five business days later no phone call from Ashley so I decided to call... the representative says to me that the mattress won't be available until April 15.... whoaaaaaa what no... so of course I'm like no way... I need to speak to a manager because that's not what John store manager told me a week ago. She says okay she's with a customer she will call you in 15mins. A hour goes by I called back announce who I am and why I'm calling and that the manager was supposed to call me back. The Goofy little girl had the nerve to say rudely, well she's still with a customer, an WHOLE hour later. Then I asked to speak with the store manager, she says he said he will call me back on tens mins this was at midday. So I decided to head to Ashley. It takes me 20 mins to get to Ashley and John still hadn't call. I get to customer service John is putting stamps on envelopes. When I speak with to John store manager ,I immediately tell him your team has failed and I just want a refund at this point. The the goofy lil girl with the bad weave tracks showing on top of new growth a MESS says that's Mr. _____ the one that called. To make a long story short John and I went to his office he gives me his personal cell number and says Monday I can go pick up the mattress. No apologies no what can we do no let's make it right no let me get on the phone now NOTHING. (And mind your John says he didn't have a chance to call back because he was putting stamps on envelopes.)But I'll have Iyou by Monday here is my cell number.... I get home 25 mins later and get a phone call from a very professional young lady saying I could go pick up the mattress. I didn't even want to ask. NEVERTHELESS don't spend your hard earned coin at this location. Go to BOBS Hyattsville. Customer A1. Maybe Muhammad should get a job at Bobs. It's sad the sales rep who work on commission can lost money due to immature ghetto, no couth having low life badge of honor wearing customer service agents. THE END. read more

were still waiting........ we purchased a sofa and love seat from Ashley and we're told it would take 8 to 12 weeks to manufacture . . . . . almost 24 weeks later and we're still waiting. Customer service has been hard to find at this store, we were forced to call the Corporate number and were given "estimated dates of arrival at the warehouse" again, and again, and again........ and we're still waiting. .... here on YELP someone named Jessica O. has responded to customer complaints . . . but in reality the Corporation is TERRIBLE at communicating to their customers...... we paid our money months ago... and this company just gives us the run-around...... Came to shop for my new home in Westphillia on Black Friday and received more instant assistance and great deals for everything I needed. Was able to find what I needed, receive all details on my purchases, and good communication throughout the process from ordering and delivery. Update: My furniture was delivered as per the promised date. Interestingly, the furniture was delivered in a Regency Furniture truck.The delivery men were wonderful. However, the mattress was not to our satisfaction. It was too soft. Now prior to me ordering the mattress, I asked how long would be have to test the mattress. The manager told me 30 days. Because we are renovating we, didn't sleep on the bed right away because I knew we had a cushion. Three weeks we slept on the bed and it was way too soft for my husband. So I called the store and was told I passed the return date. I called the corporate office which by the way, is actually Regency Furniture in Brandywine. I also found out that Ashley Furniture HomeStore is separate from Ashleyfurniture.com. The rep advised me that mattresses were not returnable. I asked for a manager and was told they were not aloud to transfer calls to the manager. After a whole bunch of back and forth, I left a message for the manager to call me back. Less than five minutes later the rep called me back and advised that although the store manager had had incorrectly advised me, they would honor an exchange. We picked out another bed and received it. It went fairly smooth. I commend corporate office for making good on the store manager incorrect statements to me. However, I will NOT be buying from this store again, especially not this location. read more
