Absolutely the WORST experience of my 69 years! To start, my salesperson Chris tried to sneak in a $229 insurance that we never discussed. He had given me his cell so I called 11ish next AM, not in office, I'll call you when I get in, NEVER heard from the guy. Went BACK to the store, "can't reverse it now, manager isn't in, but I made him put it in writing. Next day the whole amount goes through. BACK to the store AGAIN! FINALLY get this reversed but we have to wait 7 to 10 days for it to hit our account. NOW we come to the delivery. This was purchased 3/17, it is now 3/31, delivery day FINALLY, and it is a no show, said went to wrong address and I have to reschedule for NEXT WEEK? 15 calls later, Customer Service says someone WILL call me back by 7PM, NO CALL! Worst customer service and no communication! I ordered over $2000 worth of furniture with them 2 months ago for my new apartment. Well my move in date got pushed up so I called to see if my delivery could be pushed up as well and then they tell me my sofa is being delayed for almost 3 months!! No one called me, texted or emailed me about this change!? No notice what so ever! I would have just had my furniture delivered with no sofa!? I had to rush out and buy a new sofa the next day from someone else & now when I went in there to cancel my sofa with Ashley they're trying to charge me a 10% cancellation fee even though it's their fault!! They said they'd get back to me within 24 hours it's been 3 days and still haven't heard from them! I'm beyond upset because when I've ordered online the experience has been great, now that i go in store its just a circus, no one knows what they're doing there. If you are ready to buy something --this is a good place to do it. I have several pieces that I've purchased from Ashley Furniture and have generally been pleased with them. However, the last few times I have been here have been a bit disappointing -- I like to shop around and find a bargain and compare things -- especially a big purchase like furniture-- but I found that their sales people followed me around kept trying to upsale -- its annoying. I used to work in retail sales, so I don't want to waste people's time, especially if they are working on commissions but they don't take polite hints of "I'm just looking and don't plan on purchasing anything right now." very seriously. One of the last trips I went to look at an inexpensive table -- the first guy blatenly blew me off when I showed him what I was looking at and then the next lady tried to sell me a much larger and expensive table and an entertainment center. When I went back to ask about the advertised table, at first they didn't know what I was talking about (I had to hand them their own ad paper back) and then they said it wasn't in stock and then they talked about delivery and said that I should just by something else to justify the delivery costs (it was a 110 dollar table and they wanted to charge me 70 bucks to delivery it or drive to their warehouse in New Braunsfels to pick it up myself). You could go online to target.com or a similar place and buy it online and have it shipped to you for free -- saves you a lot of time and headache -- depending on what you're trying to buy. Well it has been over a year I never received that call for them to come and repair the damage they made to my home. I spoke with someone and I was promised a $500 gift card for all the trouble they have caused me. I never received that gift card and when I called to inquire about where it was they said there were no notes saying I was owed that and no record of my conversation. The manager Rob than said he would send me $200 for the inconvenience which was back in Feb. It is now June and I never received that. When I called they apologized and said they would send it out ASAP. Well they did send it but they only sent $100. Wtheck is wrong with the people that work for this company? I recently bought some furniture here. I was concerned that I could get a better deal during Presidents' Day and not two weeks ago when I bought it. I was told by the sales manager who made my deal that they have a price guarantee and that if in 30 days the prices go down they will match it and give me credit . When I called this last Sunday to see if I could price match with the current deal that was in fact 700 cheaper I was told no you financed for 60 months we don't do that . What?!?!!! That was never mentioned in the beginning ! I then called back and spoke w the office manager who told me she would price match but only if I was willing to change my financing to 12 months! This has been the most awful experience I've ever have! We bought our little girl furniture set on Labor Day and got it delivered twice because each dresser they sent us was damaged. We were promised by our sales person that the bedding set would be delivered separtely and sent through fed ex or ups. I called customer service to ask them an update with my daughter's bedding set and all they can do is give me a tracking number. I asked multiple times why wasn't it shipped out yet, all they can tell me is we have no clue and they can't get a real answer. So our so called Labor Day furniture is still not complete!!!! After I told him to let me think about it, gave me his card to contact him if I had any questions. I even called him on his cell to double check a few items for me, 100% professionalism. If I could rate this store in the negatives, I would. My wife and I just went in to take a look and was immediately bum-rushed by a sales manager. We immediately let her know we were literally just trying to look around and have no intentions of buying anything. She kept on rambling. Then, my wife told her for the second time that we were just looking. The sales manager made some awkward comment about how she doesn't follow people around, which is exactly what she did. Then, she proceeds to give us some sob story about how she didn't get to go to Mexico for vacation and worked long hours that week. She said that because of her sob story, whatever we wanted was 25% off. By this time, I'm just frustrated. She then calls a sales rep to assist us when we DID NOT need any assistance. I ask him where the bathroom is and he says: "yeah, it's hard to make a decision when you need to use the bathroom..." Listen to people who come to your store and don't be so pushy and persistent. Purchased a table four chairs and a bench from this store on Monday May 25th. The furniture was delivered today Thursday the 28th of May. The pedestal legs are wobble because they decided to use the wrong kinds of nuts and bolts. I called customer service and was told that no one would be available to fix it until Wednesday next week. I then asked that they come and pick it back up and was told no because it was past the 48 hours for canceling. I explained that if i didn't know there was a problem until delivery then how could I cancel. I was told that the delivery people that just walked out of my door would be unable to come and fix the problem because they are two deliveries away. I was told I couldn't take it to the store or the warehouse because "they don't do that". After trying to get the customer service rep to resolve the issue and her talking over me I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told in a very rude way that they are going to say the same thing. After speaking with the supervisor I was told the delivery people REFUSED to come back and fix the problem. I am now stuck with a table that cannot be used that is taking up space in my entry way until Wednesday and no way to return it. I am a loyal customer to this store having purchased a bed, living room set and more from them but after the way I was treated today I will not be buying here again nor will I recommend them anyone. read more

We purchased a sleeper sofa from this location 2 weeks ago and scheduled for delivery. It was a floor model, so sold at a "discount" but still spent over $1k on the purchase. Before buying we looked up the item on the stores online website to ensure that the "queen sleeper mattress" would be the right size, 72" long as ALL mattresses are described. It is advertised on the website as 72" and in the store as a queen size mattress. When it was delivered, the mattress was short by 4". Our feet hang off the end and hit the bar support in the pullout. We double checked online to make sure we werent looking at the wrong item as when we purchased. There isnt a single mattress listed as 68" in length and the ticket that was sold with the couch does not say short mattress. Only says "queen." When we called the store to ask about out purchase we were told, "too bad, you bought it as is and that's your fault." This store is horrendous to deal with! I've been waiting six weeks for my furniture I spent $8,500 on. No one returns calls. The sales woman Leigh O clearly only cared about the sale. Won't return calls. Had to speak with a manager Iris to try and get things resolved. She was helpful the initial call but now will not call back. NO ONE at the store will answer the phones. I've left messages with no responses. The number you also call as a new customer to make an appointment and no one will answer. Not a way to gain customers. You guys lost me. The manager iris told me that my couch has been in stock in Houston all along. But it took multiple calls with no answer to find this out. But my bed frame will be another 4+ weeks. I said cancel the bed and refund me. Come to find out bed frame was never canceled and she is not returning calls on my refund. This company has not valued me as a customer one bit. Turned out to be the remote and the lying dimwits at this store gave me the biggest run around I have ever been involved in. I was on hold off and on, for over an hour intersecting with rude and frankly very stupid people. No one wanted to accept responsibility on how to get a new remote. Only one person tried to help me out and called Simmons who said they don't handle the remote. and I ended up on hold for 40 minutes with that company that apparently makes the remote with no one ever coming to the phone. We purchased a very expensive sofa, love seat, and recliner from them in 2010. All electric reclining on all the pieces. It was a faux leather, but one of the most expensive sets in the store at the time. Because of the price, we felt it would be a wise decision to also purchase their protection plan, which was a bit pricey, but we felt it would be worth it if we needed a repair. The quality of the furniture is horrible. First thing we noticed was when one of the recliners stopped working after three months. The power adapter went out. Got that replaced and then another went out. Got that replaced also. Next, we had problems with the power cord getting caught in the mechanism and causing a short. When I turned the furniture over, they had put a few electric ties to hold the cord in place, but not enough to keep it away from the closing mechanism. I had to put my own on there to fix it. lastly, at about 18 months, we started noticing cracks in the material of an armrest. Called Ashley and was informed that pricey protection plan didn't cover material breaking down...only punctures or stains, but not actual poor quality materials. I'm sorry, but I paid several thousand dollars for this furniture and it didn't even last 18 months! Fast forward to 2014 . My furniture has severe cracking and peeling on three of the seating and back areas to the point that it is absolutely embarrassing when people visit. The only good thing is it gives me an opportunity to personally show family and friends the poor quality of Ashley Furniture. Again, this all started a short 18 months after purchase. I will never buy another product from Ashley as they don't stand behind their merchandise, and their protection plans are a rip-off. NOTE: in June 2016, we found out by accident that Ashley had given us an in-store credit covering most of the cost of the furniture. They did try to rectify the situation, but never contacted us to let us know the credit had been given. So.... Thanks for the credit. He has ensured I've got the best deal and price matched competitors and there own online sales prices. I bought $8K worth of furniture about a month ago and went into the store today since they are having there Labor Day weekend special. He gave me an extra 10% off off my previous purchase since the sale was goin on. Almost $800 back into my bank account since they price match for 30 days from delivery. Very happy with him and the manager David who actually cares about my experience and shopping needs. Delivered god I had one piece broken and they called the warehouse and ensured I got a replacement promptly. Furniture stores have a huge mark up profit.... A representative from Ashley Furniture contacted us and setup a date for one of their inspector to come examine the matress. Upon the inspectors arrival he found that it had a 1/2 inch indentation. Keep in mind, we've had the matress for only 1 month and we seperately weight 175 lbs and 145 lbs which equals a total 320 lbs. In 1 month this occurred. So Ashley is telling us that the only way they can assist us in attaining a new matress from the manufacturer is for their inspector to come back out in 90 days to examine the matress for an indentation greater than 1/2 inch. Very bad experience!!!!!!!! I bought a bed for my kid on the Black Friday special, and they gave the delivery date for 1 week later, that was not the problem!!! Sorely disappointed. We've been Ashley customers for more than 15 years... as we returned to San Antonio, we didn't think twice about where to go for our furnishing needs. My family left the Live Oaks location this past Sunday feeling very satisfied, having been assisted by a helpful salesperson. Unfortunately, the promised delivery 2 days later was completely botched... the delivery team called us two hours after the scheduled delivery window only to report that they were unable to reach us because the driver failed to bring his drivers license (military on base delivery) . While inconvenient, we understood, but what followed was more disturbing as now, more than 48 hours later... and having left more than 5 messages with various customer service agents who all acknowledged a terrible situation but only had the power to "pass the message on", we have yet to hear from a single representative of the Ashley store regarding whether our furniture will actually ever arrive, never mind for the inconvenience. We are likely forced to just cancel the charge through our credit card company as no one has returned our requests for assistance. We can accept an unexpected delay, but zero communication is completely unacceptable. read more

NEVER BUY FROM ASHLEY HOME STORE unless you enjoy stress and disappointment!!!! If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered a kitchen table set over a month ago: table, 2 chairs, 2 upholstered benches. Upon delivery, the delivery guy sliced open the upholstery on one of the benches while cutting open the box. Ok. I get it. Mistakes happen. No big deal. But the other bench clearly had other benches stacked on top and the cushion had irreversible compression damage. So now we need to return 2 brand new benches. Furthermore, our indoor cat got out because the delivery guys left the front door wide open for about 5 minutes while they were out in their truck. Got on the phone and was essentially told "tough shit, we'll deliver another one in a month from now, oh and by the way, you have to store the damaged furniture in your house the whole time. But please cover it with plastic at your own expense". Fast forward 2 weeks later. Damaged bench picked up, replacement bench #1 delivered but with the same exact cushion damage (they are apparently stacking these things on top of each other in the warehouse without any added protection between.) So we deny replacement bench #1. 2 weeks later, replacement bench #2 arrives with SAME EXACT DAMAGE.... AGAIN!!. So we get on the phone AGAIN. Guy on the phone says they will inspect and send out a 3rd replacement bench next day between 2pm and 10pm. So my wife takes off work so someone could be home to accept the delivery. NO SHOW. No phone calls. Nothing. So we get on the phone AGAIN. The supervisor I talked to was unapologetic, unhelpful, and frankly the reason I am now just canceling the order and getting my money back. I'd rather buy a new mismatched bench from somewhere else than deal with this company anymore. This should not be hard. Oh but wait, the supervisor I spoke to wouldn't help me cancel and get a refund. He told me I have to go to or call the store I bought it from. But when you call their number, it directs you back to the corporate number unless you choose the "promotion" option?? Trial and error was the only way I figured that out. The structure of how this company operates involves endless phone transfers, long hold times, no communication between departments, and careless unapologetic employees. This charade took up a month of my life and I still don't have the F'ing bench that was front and center on the show floor as soon as you walk into the door. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! We purchased a desser and a mirror from this company in March of 2013. The mirror was delivered damaged so we expected to get a new mirror sent from the warehouse. The man who showed up SPRAY PAINTED inside of our house and left a complete mess. After speaking with a customer service manager, we were assured we would have a new mirror sent out to us ASAP. We have had 5 mirrors delivered to us and ALL OF THEM HAVE BEEN DAMAGED!!!! The customer service department does not return phone calls and the management is even worse. RUN from this store as fast as possible!! I bought nearly $2000 of furniture at the end of July- a love seat, desk, bookcase and file cabinet. As of mid-September, we still do not have a replacement for the damaged (had to have been dropped) filing cabinet. The bookcase has two side-by-side doors at the bottom and the knobs do not line up at all. We decided to live with that but still have to look at it every day. The customer service was HORRIBLE. They did not seem to care at all that my furniture was damaged. It took me sending them 7 pictures before they were satisfied that it couldn't be fixed. Yes, they wanted to send someone out to fix it instead of replace it!! Since we picked up the furniture at the warehouse in New Braunfels and drove it two hours away to its final destination, it was apparently our problem. They wanted me to drive it to a store that was over an hour away to try to exchange it. As it turned out, had I driven it there, it would've been out of stock anyhow. This past week, the filing cabinets were supposed to be back in stock and we had a day set up to bring the damaged one in for the exchange. Guess what? The news ones weren't there. That wasn't really shocking considering all previous calls with incompetent customer service representatives. This next week, I am having family members drive the broken piece back to the warehouse in NB in hopes of getting it exchanged. I'm not holding my breath. I will never go back to this store. I have a medical condition and told them that high stress and anxiety causes siesures and you would think this would get them to cause me less stress. I've had a delivery driver cuss me out because my delivery preference wasn't communicated to him and he showed up to deliver while I was at work. Our first experience a few years buying our furniture was pretty smooth without any issues-which is what brought us back to Ashley. I don't want to regret returning but the customer service we've received this second time has been more than frustrating! The salesman was very quick to "Help" us order our furniture and to get his commission-once the order was purchased his eagerness to help us out was done with. When I called back about the exchange we were trying to make I spoke to a woman who stated she could assist us with the emailed receipt I requested from the salesman...I'm still waiting on that email. They told us our furniture would be available for pick up from the warehouse on the 14th of March so I called the day before to confirm and a different woman tells me the furniture won't be in until the 25th. A nice courtesy call would have been nice to let us know so the arrangements made could be changed. The warehouse isn't in town it's 30 minutes away. We've already made two trips to the warehouse to pick up furniture and then to go pick up the furniture which wasn't available but we didn't know that until we got there so only half of our table/chairs order was able to be exchanged. Now we have to make arrangements to go out there again to hopefully pick up our furniture. To top it off I called the customer service number to bypass the store employees who still can't get me that emailed receipt and the CS employee tells me that he is sending me the email and to make sure I've checked my Junk mail....still waiting and I've checked every email box possible. All I asked for was confirmation that there will be no problem with my exchange now that this is going to be outside of the allowed 14 days to exchange. I will not be returning to this Ashley location because it appears that they are only looking to meet their sales quota and can careless after the sale is made, it's also upsetting that there was no help from the customer service employee. We also purchased furniture from Living Spaces and their customer service blows Ashley out of the water! Their delivery was on time according to their tracking process (VIA EMAIL) and every employee we came into contact with was top notch. I'd much rather deal with a company who I can rely on. read more
