I think the Yelp reviews are unnecessarily hard on this place. My fiancé and I just went there this week to check out couches. We are moving out of the area and are getting an idea of what we want in our new home. Also, we went to a few other furniture, stores in San Diego and let me tell you this one was much more clean and organized than the others. Elizabeth greeted us right away and was super helpful! She took us to the modular. I asked for and showed us different configurations and talked to us about the fabric. We laid on it and it was super helpful. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is because I asked if they had any velvet covered couches and she brought me to a couch that was definitely not velvet. But that's OK! She was so helpful and even emailed us the pricing for the different options we discussed for the couches before we left the store. Our plan is to get there and tape out the dimensions of the couch on our floor just to make sure that it won't overtake our living room and then we will be purchasing from Elizabeth. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ASHLEY FURNITURE?! I use to own a furniture store many years ago. Recently I went to Ashley to check out a few new items they had in. The immediate vibe/energy was very Low when we walked in. We saw a woman helping customers on the floor. So we made our way thru the store and found what I was looking for. There was a sales lady there helping another customer in the same area. When she finished she came over, asked if I had any questions, and I did. She answered everything and when she realized I wasn't purchasing that exact day. She said, "please call me directly to place the order, because I help you, and I am off now. Here is my card, with my direct number to place your order." She was very direct and Not friendly, I could tell she was working on commission, so you think she would've been pleasant. A sales person with not much personality. She left. About a half hour later I found another item I was interested in, there was another sales lady nearby, so I asked her the question since she was alone. As she is in the middle of answering my question, she stops mid sentence and says, "oh you've already talked to another sales person, I can't be talking to you." SHE LITERALLY SAID THAT!! There were four of us, we all looked at each other in disbelief, shock, and laughter. What the hell is going on around here? It was like the twilight zone. Now, today, I was ready to place my order, so I called the ladies cell phone number so that she would get the commission, she did not answer the phone, and there is no voice on the voicemail. So then I called the main number on her business card for Ashley, it is disconnected. So I went online and got the phone number and called and no answer??? It's 11:30am on a Wednesday. I guess I should take all the flags and read the reviews and move on to another furniture store. I am amazed that the business is still open, it must be on its way to close with this type of service. The guy who helped us (Ez) acted like he put the order in as my sister had requested. I was right there when she told him precisely what she wanted, he forgot to put in the ottoman that we talked about more than once in our conversation and ordering it he repeated it back that he put it in the order then when everything showed up well 2 mirrors were broken and no ottoman !!!! the customer service has just been very terrible and nobody is ever there to take care of it!!!!! 5 weeks later still no resolution Don't shop here I would spend your money else where!!!! read more

Ashley Furniture is not interested in customer retention. We recently ordered a bedroom set and had it delivered. The delivery team scratched our floor upon delivery. The floors are newer and in excellent condition. I filed a claim to get reimbursed after we repaired it. To fix the scratch was on $150. Thery denied the claim even though I sent pictures clearly showing the scratch. We have another delivery coming from Ashley next week but we will be cancelling that order. Ashley does not care about there customer's or are they interested in customer retention. I do not recommend this company!! read more

DO NOT pay for the protection plan! It is a joke! My cat vomited on my sofa and this is the most important reason why we purchased the protection plan. The website is very difficult to use and it required a lot of evidence (pictures). After I submitted the claim, it just said a cleaning kit will be sent to me and I have to wait for 3-5 business days to receive it. I was told there will be onsite service by the seller. There is no human support on the website as well. I have been waiting for 5 days, and I have not received my kit. My claim was automatically closed on the website. Very disappointing service. The protection plan was $170, and just a getting a cleaning kit? I will never buy anything from Ashley. read more

We recently wanted to change our sofa. Our old sofa was also from Ashley and we had a great experience so I wanted to buy a new one from Ashley as well. Given that it was the Black Friday weekend, we decided to go to the nearby store. As soon as we arrived, it was very easy to find parking. Once we entered the store, we were greeted by a salesperson who helped us explore all the options. His name was Izzy and he was really kind. He showed us different options and gave us our space to explore and take our time. After checking out a variety of sofas, we decided on the one. White glove delivery was an extra hundred dollars, but we didn't mind that. Izzy was kind enough to add a holiday item at a discounted price. We got a beautiful vase. They also had a great deal on paintings. We found a beautiful painting for only $20 and decided to go with it. The only poor experience that we had in store was that there was no one to help us with the loading of the painting. The person at the front asked us to take the painting off the wall ourselves and load it ourselves. Some help would've been appreciated. Atleast the painting should have been wrapped. Once the sofa was delivered, we realized that the sofa had some damages so unfortunately, we had to send it back. However, Ashley was able to send a replacement in a few days and the replacement sofa was perfect. All in all I had a great experience. I just hope that the store provides more hands-on help with wrapping and loading of the paintings. read more

Avoid this store at all costs. I have never experienced customer service this unprofessional, dishonest, and hostile -- all over a defective piece of furniture delivered to my home. 1. Defective furniture delivered Ashley delivered a side table that was visibly cracked and damaged right out of the box. I called customer service within 5 minutes of the delivery, asking for a replacement. The representative assured me someone would call "same day or next day." No one ever called. 2. They denied my call ever happened The next morning, I called again. Suddenly, "they had no record of my call," and insisted I must take multiple photos and "submit them for review." At this point, I honestly lost confidence in their process. 3. Hostile in-store experience We decided to take the damaged table directly to the store. The moment we arrived, the staff became aggressive and confrontational. Instead of helping, the manager loudly insisted that a "technician must come and repair it," even though it was delivered broken. Repairing a brand-new defective item is NOT acceptable. I have video of the manager's behavior and photos of the damaged furniture we returned. The hostility in that store is shocking. 4. Zero accountability At no point did anyone apologize, take responsibility, or attempt to resolve the issue professionally. The entire interaction felt like they were trying to blame the customer for their defective product. 5. Warning to future customers If something arrives damaged (and based on other reviews, this is common), expect: * Denials * Delays * No returned calls * Hostility in person * Zero customer care This store does not stand behind its products and treats customers with complete disregard. I will never purchase from Ashley Furniture again or recommend them. The only positives were the salesman, Jimmy, and the delivery team. I bought a couch and entertainment center and was told I could cancel the entertainment center later if it didn't fit. When I called to cancel just that piece, they cancelled my entire order. tl;dr Ashley furniture furniture is low quality, breaks a lot, and their furniture replacement plan does not deliver what they promise. I bought a dining room and chair set from Ashley furniture about 2 years ago. I was sold the warranty by the sales associate who stated that any time there is breakage for the next 5 years, the warranty would replace the furniture. The set look nice at first, but over time, the chair legs started wearing out and breaking quite often. I had the warranty company come out to look at the chair legs. They told me they couldn't fix it, and sent me a gift card. The gift card was less than the current retail price as I bought the dining room table and chairs as a package, and was given a discount at the time. I was told to contact Ashley furniture, and they would replace the chairs for me using the discounted price. When I called Ashley furniture's call center, they were amicable and told me to go into the Miramar Ashley furniture store and they would help me with a replacement. This is where the trouble began. I walked into the store and directed to a counter where there were two people staring at me with cold daggers. I told them about my situation and asked them if they could help me. Steve, who I found out later was the sales manager, didn't ask me about my purchase or the amount I was given to replace the chairs, and immediately told me, that's how warranty works and they couldn't replace my chairs. Of course, I got upset because Steve didn't even begin to have a conversation with me but callously tried to turn me away from the store. I tried explaining to Steve that I called Ashley furniture corporate, and they told me to come in store. However, Steve just started getting more upset telling me that's how warranty works, and I could either purchase a new piece of furniture for full price or go check out the clearance aisle. I wanted to fully get Steve's words captured on audio, so I asked Steve if I could record the conversation, and he told me no, and threatened to call the cops if I recorded the conversation. Later, he ran into his office, closed the door and told me to leave. After waiting for about 5 minutes, and asking Steve again to come out and have a conversation without recording (he forced me to turn off my phone to continue the conversation). I told him that the sales people who sold me the table promised that if there was breakage with the chairs, the chair would be replaced. He told me that he doesn't have anything to do with what the sales people say or do (later I found out he was the sales manager!). He continued to be adamant that I had no additional recourse and told me that I was confrontational and he wouldn't have a talk to me. He then lied about the warranty terms saying it didn't say they would replace the furniture. However, upon reviewing the contract, it states: "If We cannot repair the damage or replace a damaged part, the affected Furniture will be replaced with the same or a similar piece of furniture having an equal retail purchase price as the damaged Furniture." Of course, Steve stated the opposite telling me that this is how the warranty worked and he would not help me any further. Again, he was very confrontational, telling me that he would no longer have any conversations with me, and told me I could purchase a chair at full price while applying the gift card. This would result in a $70 difference to replace a chair under warranty. After being threatened again that I would be trespassed and ignored by Steve, I left and called Ashley corporate. Ashley corporate told me that the store should have helped me replace the chair with the gift card given (as they originally stated), and that they would investigate on their end. Let this be a fair warning for those who want to purchase furniture from this company. Their furniture WILL break, and they WILL NOT honor their warranty. And if you happen to run into a Steve, they WILL threaten to call the cops on you if you're trying to have a conversation with them about the terms of their warranty. read more

We have ordered from Ashley before and not had any difficulties. This time was a very different experience. Firstly, in store, there was significant confusion between the salesperson and the manager if the items we wanted were discontinued or not. We have no complaints about the salesman himself, he was great, patient, and helpful but it was very frustrating to get to the point of buying before finding out the items had to be the floor models. Our biggest frustration was the delivery. We explained in store that we needed our current bed to be moved, which they said would be no problem at all and would note it in the instructions. When the delivery men got there, they walked right up our stairs with shoes on, no offer for booties or anything we are accustomed to with good service. They initially refused to help move the bed. We explained this had been discussed in store and they ultimately agreed to do it. They took apart our old bed but wouldn't put it back together in the other room it was moved into. They left screws and pieces on the floors of both rooms (we have a toddler so that's extra concerning). They put together the new bed and we have no issues with the set up, just frustration that he asked me to sign without wanting me to look at the finished product first. And a small but frustrating note was they took off our baby gate to the stairs (understandable so they could get through) and just left it in pieces on the side when they went to leave. I asked them to put it back and they had it standing again but it wasn't properly put back so the gate itself didn't actually close, again dangerous with the toddler. They also left a large box with the parts of the base not being used and some garbage lying about in our hallway without referencing it. I needed to ask what everything was to make sure it wasn't important for the bed. The final nail in the coffin was that we called the store afterwards, were left on hold for 45 minutes with no one ever picking up so we hung up. We responded to the customer service bot who asked about the delivery who said the matter "would be escalated" and a week later, we've heard nothing. Ashley Furniture on Miramar Road delivered a bedside table with a long, visible crack. I called customer service within 5 minutes of delivery to request a replacement. They assured me it would be exchanged the same day or next day, and that I'd receive a callback. No one ever called. The next morning, when I followed up, customer service claimed they had "never heard of my call" and demanded more photos. At that point, I decided to bring the table to the store myself. That's where things got even worse. The store manager became hostile and raised her voice at me instead of helping. She insisted that "a technician has to repair it", even though the furniture arrived defective straight from their warehouse. If I could give zero I would. Everything was hunky dory up until they took my money. Then their horrible customer service kicked in. I was given a delivery date but no time until the day before. I had to scramble to rearrange my client schedule to accommodate THEIR 3 hour window. Everything was AI, no real person to speak to so my option was reschedule to another day/time of day. Delivery comes and it's missing parts so they cannot fully set up the bed. Then I notice the headboard is damaged. I file a "warranty" request, through their automated text-only warranty department. Get another delivery date, again not given the timeframe until the day before. I scramble again to rearrange my schedule. Delivery comes, missing parts delivered but no replacement headboard. I found a customer service phone number, spoke to a real person but all he could do is tell me the replacement headboard is schedule for yet another day despite my request to have the missing part and headboard delivered on the same day. So this time, when they send me a delivery time with only 24 hours notice, if it requires me to change anything in my schedule I will request another delivery date. And I'll keep doing it until they can finally give me a workable delivery date. Oh yeah, I told him I'd be willing to keep the damaged headboard if they gave me a credit. He puts me on hold to speak to yet another department, comes back and says the credit they can offer is $21. Bottom line, I will never buy anything from Ashley again. And if you're looking at buying anything from them, be prepared to be treated as if you have nothing better to do but sit at home waiting for the delivery. read more

On August 14, I visited the store and purchased a King Panel Bed Set for $646.49 (tax included). I chose this option because it was more affordable than other beds I had seen elsewhere. The store price matched their own website (which was $200 cheaper) and included free delivery -- something they implied was standard. The estimated delivery was set for August 21, which was perfect timing as my husband was going back to sea the next day. We were excited, especially because the delivery window was confirmed repeatedly via four different emails -- all stating our bed would arrive between 8am-12pm on the 21st. But it never arrived. I called their automated system, entered my order number, and was told that no delivery was scheduled. Then, after calling a live agent and digging for answers, I was finally called by the company later that day, informing me that part of the bed was on backorder, and the delivery was rescheduled for Tuesday, August 26. I was never proactively told about the delay -- I had to chase them for answers before they contacted me. This new date was a problem. My husband would be away, and I'd now need to pay out-of-pocket for help assembling the bed. I asked the customer service agent to submit a compensation ticket to waive the $50 setup fee due to the inconvenience. She submitted it and said I'd hear back in 48-72 business hours -- which would fall on the day of the new delivery. She also recommended I call the Mirimar store directly, since they might resolve it faster. I called and asked to speak to a manager. The person said the manager would call me back -- no one ever did. I followed up on Friday -- still no response. Finally, on Monday, I reached someone at the store who said it was actually their department. Unfortunately, she told me they couldn't waive the setup fee because: They "have to pay their delivery drivers" I bought the bed at a discounted price, and therefore They "don't have the margins" to offer setup (yes, seriously) I was also told "it's not good business to just give things away for free." The rep was polite, but not helpful in any way. I gave up and agreed to just pay the $50 setup fee myself -- only to be told I'd have to come back into the store in person to pay it, because their system can't process add-ons remotely. And I had to do it that day, since the delivery was scheduled for tomorrow. As of now: The bed still hasn't been delivered I've received no refund, no credit, no compensation No manager ever followed up, despite repeated requests I'm stuck with a bed I may not be able to assemble without hiring outside help Bottom line: I will never shop at Ashley again. This company showed zero accountability, and made no effort to make things right, even though the delay was entirely on their end. I purchased a TV console in MeraMesa (San Diego0. Sales person David said it should be mostly assembled. Arrived in one flat box. Took over an hour to assemble. Material is cheap particle board. Arrived on Tuesday, I worked on it through Saturday. Legs are also cheap material that crumbled when tried to screw on. The hardware came out on both, so you know it is the material. Chatted with customer service on Sunday and they said returns and exchanges can only be done within 72 hours of delivery. So even though this is obviously a defect in product, Ashley Home Store will do nothing about it. This unit is unusable. I purchased another at a different store and will never shop here again. From the start, he seemed visibly displeased that we were only purchasing a few items, despite the fact that we were just getting started with furnishing our entire home. Nevertheless, we proceeded with the transaction. When we reached the cashier and I began filling out my information, I politely asked Momo not to add me to any marketing lists--a simple, common-sense request. At that moment, something completely unprovoked and disturbing happened. Momo suddenly snapped. He began yelling and screaming at me in front of my wife and children, claiming I was the most "difficult customer" he had ever dealt with. I was stunned--I hadn't even spoken to him much before this moment, let alone said or done anything inappropriate. The entire encounter up until then had been quick, polite, and uneventful. The verbal aggression was so intense, loud, and public that my children were visibly shaken and began crying. My family and I were publicly humiliated and emotionally distressed in a way that I never imagined possible while shopping for furniture. I immediately asked to speak to the manager, who shockingly admitted that this was not the first time customers had complained about this same salesperson. Why is someone with a known pattern of abusive behavior still employed in a customer-facing role? Why has Ashley Furniture failed to act? Even more disturbing, I cannot shake the feeling that this outburst was rooted in discrimination--I was treated with inexplicable hostility and disrespect, and I firmly believe that my race or background played a role in how I was spoken to and treated. HUGEST SHOUTOUT TO EZEKIEL We initially came into Ashley unsure of what we wanted just from looking online, but knew the vibe we were reaching for. Ezekiel was the first one to meet us and gave us time to peruse the store before getting back to us and allowing us to think outloud on our thoughts without pressuring us to decide on something right away. He also knew when to give us more time and space to keep looking around and narrowing down our options. He was extremely considerate of our time and comfort. After finding and getting a third perspective on what styles could look good together, we felt more certain on our purchase! The defect was repaired on Saturday but the sofa sleeper is extremely uncomfortable and causes back pain. I contacted Ashley requesting to return it and was denied even though we have only had it for a few days. We were told all sales were final and that we were stuck with it. We went into the Ashley Store on Miramar Rd looking for a living room set, and had a great shopping experience. The salesperson, Mindie Kang, met us and I want to say she did a great job. She displayed just the right combination of being available to answer our questions about the furniture, and yet giving us space to shop and discuss. Mindie also gave us all of our purchasing options and we left Ashley feeling like we purchased the furniture we were looking for and at a great price and value. Thanks Mindie. read more

Hours of couch shopping at Mor, Jerome's, living spaces, and Bob's furniture. Besides Costco (no one beats their prices), Ashley's had the best variety for the quality they were selling. Mo Mo was funny & personable while allowing us the personal space to see everything on our own. read more

This place is massive! It is multiple levels and they have a huge selection of furniture. The have dining tables, chairs, desks, sofas, bedroom sets, dressers, book cases and much more. We expected more of a browsing atmosphere akin to an IKEA experience. What we got was a car lot kind of feel. The wifey and I came here to shop for a new mattress. We liked our old mattress, but felt we needed something that is a bit more supportive. Upon entering the store we were, almost immediately, approached by a salesman. The guy was nice enough and directed us to the mattress gallery so we could check out the 20+ mattresses they have. My only issue was that he was a bit pushy and tried to convince us to make a decision to buy without giving us a chance to try out everything. Our favorite mattress, out of the 7 or so we tried, was the Stearns and Foster Estate Rockwell Ultra Firm mattress. It was very comfortable and provided great support, but one thing we didn't really like that it had some memory foam inside the top layer of the mattress. It gave us the feeling that we were sinking a bit. It wasn't a deal breaker, overall it is a very nice mattress and the best one we tried out. In addition, I've heard great things about Stearns and Foster mattresses. The sales guy told us it was the firmest supporting mattress they had. We believed him and didn't question the quality or comfort or anything about the mattress. We just wanted to shop other stores before we made a decision. He finally ended up giving us his card when he realized we weren't going to buy that night. We walked around the store and in less than 10 seconds from separating from our salesman, another one approached to ask if we needed help. I told him that we were already being helped. I get it, these guys are trying to earn a living. Sometimes though you just want to have a look around without the feeling of being harrassed or stalked. The store was easy to find. There is plenty of parking here. Masks are required for Covid and sales people were all wearing masks. If we don't end up finding a mattress we like better elsewhere, we will come back for the Sterans and Foster. Worst furniture store in all San Diego. Can't even start. Purchased a mattress from them. And only had it for a few days. And already starting to dip in. Which I told them and said they could do nothing about it. They have no return policy on mattresses. Which to me is crazy. The sales rep. Taz never said anything about it. The store sent us the wrong chairs. Wrong color and wrong size. We requested a return and the photos they asked for 4 weeks ago and we called a few times , no one is giving us answers. The quality of the chairs are not good. One of them have nail coming out and cut my toddlers finger already. read more
