Adventures in babysitting! Do you enjoy hunting your furniture down for a month and a half only to have it be deemed "undeliverable" and having to go pick up scuffed up floor models instead? Then man is this the store for you! We have lost weekend and had to take time off work for this company and they STILL, 6 WEEKS, after our purchase have not fulfilled their delivery. I was hoping to write this review after everything had settled but now I seriously doubt it ever will. It all started a month and a half ago when we purchased a new dining room set and master bedroom set. They were supposed to deliver that weekend but we noticed the address in the tracker app they had was wrong and called them by 9:00 in the morning to inform them of that. They thanked us and said they would inform the driver. After the end of our 4 hours deliver window they still hadn't arrived and when we called back (easily expect to be on hold 45+ minutes every time you call) they said "Oh yeah we can't deliver that today. We'll let you know when our next availability is". No call or notification... nothing. The next weekend we look on the app early and SAME THING: they were delivering to the same wrong address. This time we called them by 8:00 and informed them of their mistake and kept calling back for status updates since they never call you back as promised. Despite around 3 hours on hold they said they "unfortunately" can't deliver that day. This has been going on for weeks and they they split the deliveries promising a couple dining room chairs this week and a couple more next week but then changed the dates etc. THEN for added fun, they started discontinuing parts of our order. All of a sudden our nightstands, dresser and foot board weren't available anymore. We had to drive to San Marcos, pick up the floor models, disassemble, Load and drive and assemble them ourselves. The one piece they were able to deliver was an incomplete bed frame (since the foot board was discontinued) and have been trying to pick it up for a week. Sunday, they went to the SAME wrong address they tried to go to 3 times before and today THEY JUST DIDNT SHOW UP AT ALL. No call, email NOTHING. And when we finally call they say "oh yeah we really should have let you know. Sorry! When can you be there to reschedule?" We are leaving your furniture at the end of the driveway and if you can find time in Your schedule to come get it, great! It will be interesting to see who gets it first: you or the garbage man. read more

Let's get to the point, AVOID Buying from Ashley Furniture!! 3 weeks to get product, when it did arrive the box looked like trash and was cut open where someone from the warehouse took the hardware out to use for another table. I had to either keep it and wait a hardware delivery 10 days later or refuse it. I refused the entire order to get an all new set in 3 days. They then rescheduled another day later after I already took the day off on the second day they said they would deliver. Now a day later and another day off they show up with HALF of my table and left the Base (legs) behind. How hard is this? And it's 100% impossible for them to bring it out same day to make up for all these issues. Now I'm waiting another 3 days for the base and nobody will answer calls except a call center that will forward you to the store which will put you on hold until it forwards again to the call center. However, he then began to continue to follow me around the store. I felt disrespected that he did not listen to me. I was nice, and no means no. It is not OK to creepily follow someone when they already said, "No thank you". I am sure that is the store's policy, but I do not think it is a good one. Willing to say whatever they have to in order to close a sale. Not willing to communicate changes in delivery status out of fear of losing orders. Ordered a bedroom set. As we were getting the order in, they informed me they didn't have the item in their warehouse and it would take 3-4 weeks to arrive. I was ready to walk. Sales rep cut the price, gave me a couple gift cards toward future purchases, etc. Alright, we can wait. Confirmed -absolute latest- delivery date, assured that would be worst-case and most likely it would arrive sooner and they'd call me as soon as they knew when it would be delivered. Fast forward a couple weeks and we call for an update. Informed that the items are now on backorder and that the new delivery date has been pushed out (at least) a few weeks. Sorry. Nothing they can do. Asked why when they learned it was on backorder we weren't informed, and was told we would've been called closer to the original delivery date. (Why? So we wouldn't be inclined to just cancel the order.) Likelihood we'll actually get the set on the new date? Not feeling very confident. 7+ weeks. Had I known, I would've walked out. As I don't like to leave negative reviews unless it's really meant... here it goes! Bought a living room set almost a year ago. Wanted something comfortable and convenient. At the time sectionals seemed to be ideal for what I needed for my family. When buying my 4 piece sectional, I believe I got a good deal. 1200 for a sectional, dark color, easy maintenance and I can rearrange it. I was struggling for cash so I applied for the Ashley's credit card payment. They offered %0 interest for 6/12 months. I was ok with it and assumed the interest fees will start after the 6/12 months... I looked at the balance owed a month ago and it showed 1600... remember I got this almost a year ago...how is that possible if I have made payments and even if I made a few late payments it's totaled over 600 of payments. What they did is charged the interest fees that would I would have if I had an interest charge in the past 6/12 months.. that totaled over 400 in just a large lump sum of an interest charge.. and on top of that I am getting charged every month another percentage! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! If I continue to making the minimum payment when finishing paying the credit it be over 4,000 on a 1200 sectional. For that reason I advise people to NOT apply for the Ashley's credit card payment and if you do, pay it before the promotion ends. Not only do they take advantage of you but they disregard you as a person. READ EVERYTHING. It's a financial burden that this company does.. whether they inform you this in a contract, they do not let you know of this verbally! Now I'm stuck paying for this obscene amount.. but I'm making it clear to people that want to review before buying and friends! This is not a place I trust not will refer anyone! My husband and I stopped off at Ashley's and picked out a new bedroom set and dining table last weekend with Mila who was not only wonderful but was patient, helpful, and very knowledgeable in the products at the store. Do not waste your time, furniture is complete garbage. I spent 10k just on patio furniture and within weeks it all started falling apart. The employees at this location are such a dream to work with. The location is large, and has an amazing selection with a good range in price. From a client since 2006, STAY AWAY!!!! I decided to give Ashley's one more chance after they failed to provide a replacement for a mattress that was less than a year old. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at this store but they could care less. I purchase a Cal King bed in April 2020. By October 2020, it broke completely. I have been calling since then and their either I'm on hold forever or I keep getting transferred. I used their chat service but that's worthless. Since it was an online purchase, in person customer service is no help but I decided to try. NOPE! Walked into the store, spoke to customer service, and they said I can only call or do online chat. I asked what would happen if I can never get a hold of someone, and she said it wouldn't be repaired because it would go past the one year mark. 097 / 100 - 2017 YELP 100 CHALLENGE. My husband and I decided to take my MIL furniture shopping a few months ago. One of my co-workers had told me about Furniture Row in San Marcos, so we thought that we should start off with Ashley Home Furniture. Parking was great at Ashley - lots of room and places to park! The store itself is beautiful: spacious, well-lit, lots of choices. Everything was clean and put together when we got there and there were a lot of sales people/employees on the floor. The selection in Ashley is definitely on the "warmer" side. Not a bad thing, as this is really popular in a lot of homes, but the colors just did not match with the set up of our house. Grays were pretty much nonexistent and if we did find any, they were on the warmer side. Boooo. In terms of downsides, the only one I can think of was the sales staff/employees. They would follow us around the store, like we were being chaperoned. I wish they would have let us breathe a bit and stepped in when we needed it. I get that they didn't want to lose out on a possible commission, but it REALLY turned us off to wander to a different section and see the same sales woman a few min later, hiding behind a potted plant and trying to look casual lol. We actually left a bit after that because it was so unbearable. If you're looking for furniture that is more rustic, has warm toned woods/furniture, and have more of a "grandiose" style than modern, etc. then Ashley may be perfect for you. UPDATE: Ashely furniture followed up with and sent a replacement for my couches. It was great until they delivered it. The delivery men had strict details to not remove the damaged couched caused by low quality material. Great.... I now have two sets of couches in a one bedroom apartment. So I called my 5 year warranty plan and they informed me that the flaking and the stitching coming undone was a manufactured defect. So I contacted the manufacturer. They sent out a technician to take pictures within three day of my phone call. After 2 weeks of waiting Ashley furniture contacted me saying that this was in fact a manufacturer defect, but because the couch is in a home and not in the store they cannot fix it and offered me $168.00 store credit to Ashely furniture...... yes you read that correctly $168.00 store credit. I am completely offended. How rude and disrespectful. I bought a 1800 couch and in 7 months of purchase it starts to fall apart and you can only offer store credit!!! Worst customer service!! There is no return policy of Ashley.I brought Sofa with love seat almost $1700.When it was delivered I realized it's not worth the buy. He spent lots of time with me on two different occasions I always check and compare prices The delivery guys were considerate of my new home and very professional. Had to go into the store. Couldn't leave fast enough. Several of the sales people are not wearing masks properly and don't respect distancing. They have these ill-fitted Ashley masks so their nose and part of their mouth hang out. Then they occasionally pull the mask up with their fingers. These are the same fingers that touch everything including the pens and paper you have to touch. I'm really glad I had an N-95 on but most people don't have access to those. read more

Really bad place to purchase furniture, my aunt bought a bunk bed about a year ago and it was delivered and assembled wrong, the bunk beds were damage, and she requested an exchange and till this day she hasnt been able to get an exchange even after she already paid for the whole price of the product, all Ashley Furniture has done is sent people to pick up the damaged furniture and not bring the new one, very disappointing with the customer service and overall the whole experience as a customer who has bought furniture at Ashley Furniture I don't think it's fair for us the customer to be treated this way after we have already paid for our furniture!!! read more

SMELLY, OVERPRICED, POOR QUALITY SECTIONAL My wife and I purchased a dining table and the "Arminio" sectional sofa at Ashley Furniture in July. We didn't have any issues with our dining table but we are very unhappy with our sofa. We expected much better quality especially at the price we paid. The smell coming from the fabric is nauseating. The best way I can describe the smell is a musty chemical smell. The cheap down throw pillows that came with the sofa smell also. They have a strong gamy smell that can be best described as a wet bird. We have down pillows in all our bedrooms and none of them smell like that. My wife refused to sit on the sofa for the first couple months until we started draping blankets on it. The cushions themselves are already starting to warp on the spots we sit and I fear they will not hold up very long. We called the store and complained about it and the person on the phone claimed that "no one had ever complained about the smell". We then called corporate and the rep said "no one had ever complained about the smell". A tech was sent to our house to look at the couch and said he couldn't smell anything and claimed that "no one had ever complained about the smell". Notice a trend here? Almost as if company policy is to make the customer feel like it's in their head. Ashley Furniture has a NO RETURN POLICY so unfortunately, we couldn't return the sofa. After doing some research we hoped that the couch was just "off-gassing" and that the smell would go away but it has been about 4 months with no improvement. Ashley furniture did replace the six down pillows and pillow covers but it was no improvement. We spent around $200 to replace them ourselves with a better quality down pillow which at least got rid of the gamy smell. We called ChemDry to clean the fabric and their rep DID SMELL the "musty chemical smell". Unfortunately, after looking at the sofa they wouldn't touch it since dry cleaning wouldn't get rid of the smell on that type of fabric and shampooing would possibly cause it to shrink and discolor. I'm sure Ashley Furniture is aware most of their product is junk which is probably why they have a NO RETURN POLICY. Lesson learned. Don't ever buy from a company that doesn't take returns since that means they won't stand behind their products. WE ABSOLUTELY HATE OUR SOFA. Every time we sit on it and every time we drive past an Ashley Homestore, we are reminded how we flushed our hard earned money down the toilet to buy a SMELLY, OVERPRICED POOR QUALITY SOFA FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE . Okay I was like what's all the bad reviews about, but they sent an text for delivery Tuesday and you say ok. Then they send a text Monday we will be there between 10-2 and you say ok. In the morning of delivery you get a text saying it will be there 5th stop. At 11 you get a call and they explain the shipment isn't on the truck we will get it to you Thursday. I found a chair I wanted, no red price, and when I went to get it they said it was not included in the sale. I don't normally write reviews, but after my experience with this business, I felt the need to warn others to never shop here. This is the worst business ever. Zero sense of customer service. We bought a bed from them and when it was delivered all was good until the footboard was brought out and it was damaged upon delivery. We contacted the business and were told we had to accept the damaged footboard even though we had nothing to do with the damage caused, it showed up that way. We were told they would send someone to repair the damage because that is their policy. I explained to them we were not accepting anything and I paid for a new bed and want a new bed not something repaired that I didn't damage, but yet paid the purchase price for something new. We refused the footboard and it was taken back. After another wait for the delivery, they brought back the same footboard that they "repaired" instead of a new one as requested. The repair job was horrible, it's actually worse after the repair than the original damage. Now we wait yet again for another delivery in a week and a half from now. Wonder what we will end up with this time? Horrible customer service. I will never shop here again and will tell everyone I know not to shop there as well. See attached pictures of the "repair" job. We purchased a bed from this location this past weekend. They delivered the wrong bed. Their costumer service is useless and takes 72 hours to answer a question where they just ask more questions and say it will be another 72 hours for a response. We are on day 5 now of dealing with their costumer service for over an hour a day and they still do not have a resolution for the incorrect delivery. I would stay completely clear of this place. Could not be happier with our purchase of a Sofa, Loveseat and a chair from this store. The quality is everything we wanted it to be and the looks are great. We bought two chairs and were told that if we didn't like the way they looked we could tell the delivery people to return them. We did that with one of the chairs.
