ASHLEY STORE vs ROOMS TO GO These two long time bohemoths in the home furniture business have big showrooms next to each other. I have browsed this showroom with my daughter for various furniture in the recent past and dealt then directly with the sales rep John Levitz. Well, today I walked into the showroom and John Levitz was at the at the greeting counter again ready to assist. Searching for the right mattress that is going to last fifteen years plus is exhausting. The showroom here is two massive stories and spread out nicely for easy viewing. I browsed around at most of the brand name mattresses similar to Rooms To Go although somewhat less expensive. They also have a nice display of Rest&Renew cotton bed sheets for purchase but I would attempt to throw a set in for free after bed purchase - just saying. John Levitz explained the mattress warranty which is super important to my decision. Ashley Furniture does offer the ten year manufacture warranty. You can also purchase an additional 3yr extended warranty for approximately 10% of the purchase price of the mattesses - this is great. read more

This store is very unorganized and makes careless mistakes. I placed an order 2 months ago, and after finally getting all of my items in stock, they messed up the address of delivery. On my second order, the sales rep put my billing address instead of the delivery address so I had two separate orders that ending up going to two different cities on the day of delivery. I called and they told me they would have everything delivered on July 16th with no accommodations for lost time and inconvenience while also failing to mention that the bed is now on backorder again and will have to wait another three weeks for it. I only noticed when I checked the delivery confirmation and noticed there was a metal frame getting delivered instead of my bed. Now I just checked the order and it says not available for the bed set. Do yourself a favor and buy your furniture somewhere else. read more

Our Sales Representative, Sebastian, is awesome. He has great rapport building skills, got to know us and what we like, and we bought some great products. He took alot of time with us, and his professionalism, tact, and grit shined through. Sebastian gets FIVE stars. Claims department was initially a tad difficult to get a hold of, but Sebastian had our backs. He connected us with Anne, who was another pleasure to work with. Anne also gets FIVE stars! Both representatives seemed to greatly care for their customers, even after the sale was done, which is an additional bonus in my book because that is (unfortunately) rare these days! The store is two floors, and offers an array of styles to choose from. I personally love to mix and match, and you are not forced to buy a set which I like. Hello fellow neighbors! I was just at Ashley's furniture in sunrise near the sawgrass. Let me tell you I went there with my girlfriend who bought a dinning room table in May of 2022. She had to refuse the delivery because there was something wrong with the table the first time and now after four times of having the service department come and refusing to do something with the table because the table is peeling she is at her wits end. So we went to the store this morning to our surprise they are professional at passing the bucks once you buy and they also sale you the extended warranty. And the the table is warranty the first to three years with the store. The manager says it's out of there hands. The warranty department don't want to talk to the staff at the store. That's the manager and employees at the store. It's unheard of , a store manager should have the best interest for the customers so they can have repeat customer wouldn't you think? They obviously have one thing on there mind. She fixed her hair in the mirror and suggested we visit Rooms to Go; "they're closing soon". She reached downstairs before us, and lied on two occasions, while being very unprofessional with her shouting out over management. I then really liked one of their dining room tables that I had not seen in City Furniture and when I had questions Brandon Martinez was tremendously helpful and most importantly had all the patience in the world. I bought an electric recliner for my Dad who is sick. The recliner broke after 6 months. Took 7 days for repair appt, and repairman never showed. Called to complain and he showed next day. Need to order motor due to manufacturers defect. Will take 2-4 weeks and then we can make appoint. Asked if we could just replace recliner due to medical necessity, they said no. Will never purchase anything from City or Ashley in the future. Recliner is not a luxury and my mom fell trying to help my dad out of recliner. I gravitate more towards modern/contemporary pieces. And Ashley's furniture does not have much of it. What they did have at this particular store was all on the second floor. They were modern but not modern enough. And the modern pieces look a little cheap. I came in for a wonderful horse wrapped Canvas that I saw months ago and I loved it. Don't know why I didn't get it but when I saw it over the weekend I had to have it. One thing I noticed, is that while some of the furniture pieces are well priced, all the accessories are ridiculously expensive. Sales associates were helpful without being pushy. Bait and Switch?? The ONLY reason this has ONE STAR is because of the great salesperson that we had, her name is Stacey... Come to find out she made a mistake and told us the terms for the same as cash was 12 months... Later we found out, it is actually 6 months on this particular sale. Anyway the following are the emails that I sent - both without reply. Hi Stacey: I hope this email finds you well... We sure lucked out with that storm! Anyway, I tried calling you yesterday after our purchase, you had just left and then I tried again today, Monday 9/2 but heard the message that your store was closed due to inclement weather, understandably so. What I do not understand is.... why we were charged a different price than what you quoted us..... Do you recall that the price you gave us in writing was 12 months same as cash??? You said the price of the furniture only went up IF the terms were extended to anything beyond the 12 months... I even made comment, we would do the 12 months same as cash to get the BEST price using the longest term.. When Rob and I came back for our appointment, we were okay with the fact you were with other customers... You are great and deserve to make all the sales you can BUT when we were given a different price, I questioned it... And the sales associate made me think you didn't add the warranties or the tax... Looking back, she should have kindly interrupted you and asked you.... Regardless, I conceded, thinking I was wrong until we got home and found the price you gave us... I called to speak to you but since you were gone, they had a manager call me back.. the manager tried to tell me the 12 months same as cash is just a "financing term" and that if I finance it at all through you that I had to pay the higher price for the furniture. This is not want we discussed in your showroom.. I explained to him that that was NOT 12 months same as cash and I didn't appreciate what was seeming to be a bait and switch... Rob and I were shocked as this is not what we discussed... I asked your Manager to take the time and go back and research this to see how he would like to resolve it... He said there is nothing he can do, that I needed to understand that I was paying a higher price to finance it at 12 months... I had to hang up... That said, we are considering canceling this order.... The way the manager spoke to me was uncalled for... Even if you made a mistake and the information you gave us was incorrect, he could have just apologized and explained it as an error but he didn't even want to investigate it and call me back with a resolution (not manager material in my opinion).. He would rather lose sale today and a future customer rather than just handle this properly, what an ass... That email came back as undeliverable... I then called the store again yesterday, 9/3 and spoke to the assistant manager, Christi... She could not see the error when looking at this OR could she??? Either way, I called another store and as soon as they opened my invoice and went line for line with me, they saw the issue... I purchased two matching leather sofas from this store in 2014 for $2,000. I also purchased a 3 Year in home Service plan for an additional $199. Less than a year later both sofas started to lose the color at creases. Since I've had leather sofas before, I assumed it was a defect. When I call the store, they wanted photos uploaded through their site. They sent someone out to inspect the (not so fine leather) sofas. They refused to take any action even though the service plan calls for repair or replacement. If you do not use the service plan in three years, you are supposed to get a store credit in the purchase amount. Apparently if you have someone come to look at the poor quality defects of their products (even though no work is performed), you don't get the store credit. Stay away from this store as it is part of City Furniture. Poor quality and they will not stand behind their products. read more

Ashley furniture sold me and my fiancé a bed. It was soft in the store and seemed very comfortable. We waited weeks for it to come because it was "back ordered" when it finally came it had marker marks all over it. we then had to wait weeks for them to give us a new one. the mattress is harder than sleeping on the ground. They refuse to refund our money. after a few days i felt a little itchy. i didn't think much of it because it was a brand new mattress. needless to say... I just took the mattress cover off to find bed bugs... I am fully disgusted with this company and would love to know how they think this is how to operate a business. If you want an actually good mattress with great customer care go to mattress firm. Ashley is the WORST and they also own city furniture where they are just as bad!!!!! I KNOW ashley will have to rectify this situation in some manner as this is unacceptable!! UPDATE: After posting my initial review I was contacted regarding my complaints and they were handled quickly. I got a call a week later checking in to make sure I had nothing else I needed assistance with. I was definitely satisfied with how I was helped. First and foremost I LOVED the sales representative I had. She was very knowledgeable, a great saleswoman and was helping me get the lowest price possible. However, the rest of the staff I have dealt with has been a nightmare. The day after being at the store I called to put my deposit in after making my final decision on which bed set and accessories I get. The price I was told was $500 more than what I was quoted the day before! So I tried explaining what my sales representative did to get that price (discount and price match) and the number was still off. I still put the deposit in just Incase we could figure out how to get the right price. After a few phone calls and "I'll call you back"s it was never resolved and I was frustrated at this point. I asked for a refund of my deposit on Friday and it's notWednesday and it's still not showing as a pending refund. So I'll have to call back AGAIN and try to get this sorted out as it seems very few representatives know how to help me. read more

The customer service of this store is the worst. I purchased a new kitchen table and chairs in April 2021. It was delivered in June 2021. The table was dropped off in an open box with the legs, bolts, and screws all loose in the box. The box was cut on all four sides and taped back in such a poor fashion. When I called customer care, they told me that once they slide the box in my front door, it is a final sale? My wife pointed out the box and tape and they said to call customer service. If I ever actually get the mattress it will go in my will lol. So far, the required to buy adjustable base (or else "they" won't honor the 20 year warranty) arrived ('even tho I have one, so that ticked me off, and now a sale is out and they are giving them away with select mattress. I can't. So, City Furniture delivered the base, two men. Driver working very hard. Other guy never stopped talking on his phone to a woman, made the other guy have to wait on him, then he put the electric cord in wrong and it wouldn't work and they had to figure that out, - I felt bad for the driver, he had that look of exasperation, then phone man started rolling the box down my hall not paying attention and I yelled at him I said hey watch the walls bc he was using his entire arm to hold his phone, not ear buds, and my hall curves and I could see it coming. - Got email that headboard & rails etc are coming tomorrow and they were to call me with my window of time by 8pm and it's 11pm and still no call. Since I have to drive there to let them in, it kinda matters a lot. Basically Sales is great, Delivery needs improvement. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I ordered a 8pc dining set in Nov2021. I received my first items (4chairs) on 26Jan 2022. I realize the delay may have been caused by short on inventory and understandable. Then it all went south! Right off the bat, 3 of the chairs either had damage or was assembled poorly. On 3Feb a repair person came out. Was able to resolve issue with 2 of the chairs and wanted to patch up the legs of the other two. I refused. I paid good hardworking money on new furniture, and that's what I deserve. In the meantime, my table and one backless stool finally arrived on 9Feb. Surprised I didn't have any issues with those items. Again on 9 Mar they sent replacement stools for exchange of damaged Items. One chair was ok, but 2nd chair has damage. On 15Mar a chair was supposed to be delivered but I got a call saying the chair got damaged during the delivery so I needed to reschedule for 22Mar. Then I received a call saying they had to cancel for this delivery date and needed to reschedule for 5Apr. Chair arrived yesterday and had poor assembly (again) so now I had to schedule for a repair visit on 26Apr to rectify this issue. I can't imagine I can recommend Ashley to my friends or family much less ever buying another piece of furniture from them! If there was an option to give a "no stars" review, I would have done so.
