I placed an order on December 30 at 5:00 PM directly through the restaurant's website for $75 ($65 + $10 tip). The website specifically encouraged ordering directly instead of using third-party apps like DoorDash or Uber Eats, stating it was better for the restaurant. After placing the order, I received a notification that my food was being prepared--through DoorDash. This was confusing, as the website never required me to sign into DoorDash; all delivery and payment information was collected directly on the restaurant's site. By 6:00 PM, my order had not arrived. When I checked the status, it showed that the restaurant had canceled the order, yet I was still charged. I called the restaurant and a young boy answered, explaining that "Grubhub didn't submit the order info, so we received a blank order and canceled it." I clarified that I ordered directly from their website and that my card was charged by the restaurant. When I asked about a refund, I was told that DoorDash would refund me in a few days--which made no sense, since DoorDash never took my payment. I then contacted DoorDash, who confirmed that the restaurant processed the payment and that the refund had to come from them. DoorDash called the restaurant and merged us into a call, where I was told to "call back tomorrow after 1 PM when the manager is here." They refused to take my name or leave a note for the manager. Two days later, I finally reached the manager, who processed a refund the following day and sent me a photo as proof. However, the refund was only for $65--the $10 tip was not included. When I asked about this, I was told to "call next time if you want something special." I simply wanted a full refund for an order that was canceled by the restaurant and never made. It has now been over a month, and I have still not received any refund. I followed up and was told they "did everything on their end" and was sent another photo of a receipt showing a refund. I can confirm I have received $0 back. Since this was paid with a debit card, I am unable to dispute the charge. After four days of constant calls and messages--and now over a month later--I am still without a refund. Do not order from their website. If I ever try the food or actually get a refund I will update.

We had such an amazing time at Ashoka in Pinecrest! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and beautiful--loved the mural and the artistic touches from Jaipur that give the place so much charm. We started with a Mango Lassi (creamy & refreshing) and shared the Chicken Samosa, Garlic Cheese Naan, and Truffle Naan--all fresh, crispy, and bursting with flavor. Our waitress delivered top notch service as well. For the main course, we had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma--both absolutely delicious, with rich, flavorful sauces and perfectly cooked meats. But the real showstopper? The Gajar Ka Halwa. WOW. It was unlike anything we've had--warm, comforting, and clearly made with love. It honestly tasted like a treasured family recipe. Out of this world. To top it all off, there was a complimentary henna artist offering designs! My daughter loved it. Such a fun and thoughtful touch to a great night. Highly recommend for anyone looking for incredible Indian cuisine and a unique cultural experience. We'll definitely be back!

Great food, very sweet staff, cozy intimate vibes. Overall a fantastic evening - we ate lamb vindaloo and tikka masala salmon. Both were absolutely delicious. However, the star of the show was the garlic cheesy naan!!! Free surface lot parking

Another fine hidden gem! Hubby & I venture out of our comfort zone often, with yelp as our guide. Tonight we found ourselves in need of the exotic spices. We yelped up a lovely place in nearby pinecrest town center. It's quiet, pretty and well served. Only one waiter tonight Weds at 8pm. He gets it done well and paid close attention to our preferences, giving great suggestions. We had an amazing red cauliflower app, which was even better than we imagined! I chose my standby chicken tikka masala & hubby got a recommended lamb dish. Yes, It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is comfortable and lovely appropriate decor. The place itself is small, but serves very well. Prices are in line with the area. Check it out if you are in this area of Miami looking for Indian and the like. Thanks for following me and happy Yelping!

First off, the service was great. We asked several questions, asked for recommendations, and we were able to customize the portions. Second, the flavors are incredible! We got a pistachio curry, which I've never had before. So unique! Get the bread basket!

Once you enter---- the music, and entire atmosphere calms you down - ready for a serene meal. I'd love to bring my girl here for a relaxed, romantic dinner. the paintings, lamps and doors all beautiful I ordered the paneer makhani with vegetables, garlic naan and the mango lassi. I always leave leftover for dinner but not this time... ate it all.. my belly hurts a bit cause I'm so stuffed but no regrets... delish My server was quite attentive and cordial-- great service.

Came for my birthday tonight and Service was amazing. Food took a while but tasted hot and fresh so it's worth the wait. Nice little cozy spot. Loved the decor and music playing. Check it out.

This is just to update or better yet, to add something new to my previous review. Ashoka Indian is still a great contender for best traditional Indian food in Miami. I know Ghee has it's followers, but Ashoka in my opinion, is way better. The Lamb Chettinad and butter chicken are amazing. Always a great choice and if you are not a fan of the sauces... try their chicken tandoori. Is excellent! Service is friendly and food is served in a timely manner. Clearing the table after dinner can be improved but.... It isn't a deal breaker for me. The ambiance is okay... it has dimmed lighting which i appreciate and decor is basic but not cheesy. Give it a try when in the mood for great Indian food.

The food was delicious!! Highly recommend the tikka masala and samosas. We ordered: Vegetable Samosas Tikka Masala (chicken) Lamb Chettinad Butter naan Food and service both five star. We'll be back!

My husband and I had a delicious meal at Ashoka. Our server Akshata was fantastic! She was welcoming and had great recommendations. As per her recommendation we started with the Samosa Chaat which was delicious! This is the perfect appetizer and full of flavor. We chose the Seekh kabab with curry sauce and the curry goat for dinner. Both were delicious and had the perfect amount of spice. The cheesy garlic naan was also perfect. This will now be our go to for delicious Indian dishes.

I don't know how many reincarnations this particular spot has gone through. Before Ashoka it was Saffron, and before that Imlee, and I am pretty sure it was still another Indian restaurant before Imlee, which name I cannot recall. We went there for lunch. Their lunch menu has many choices, from vegetarian to lamb, at a very good value too. You can choose a smaller set, or the thali, which includes salad and dessert as well, prettily arranged on a tin tray. The samosa is excellent, crunch on the outside and on our first bite, steamy hot! It's great they are freshly fried instead of made ahead. The lunch portion doesn't have a lot of meat, but with the delicious sauce scooped over the rice, along with the naan and other food, it's not likely you will go hungry, and given the price, I think it's a fair value. Service is on point too.

This was our first time trying out Ashoka, and it was a great experience! We started with the gabi lasooni, which was good and they were able to make mild but still have a lot of flavor. I was excited for the Baingan Bartha - one of my favorite dishes - and it was very good and smokey. I loved that there was a whole vegetarian section with lots of options! I'd like to come back and try other veggie dishes as well. We both also ordered a mango lassi and garlic naan. Service was very friendly and fast. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice - the decor felt upscale but comfortable at the same time. The decorations are fun and festive, and for a Friday night date night, it was great with mood lighting. We are happy to have found a good Indian restaurant in Pinecrest and will be coming back soon to try more dishes!

I already have a favorite Indian restaurant locally but I was in the neighborhood and hungry and this popped up with 4.7 stars on Yelp so I said let's give it a try. Expectations were high and they met them all. It's an attractive restaurant that happened to be fairly empty when we went there. I was really happy to see that they had a number of my favorites on the menu as well as some things that I have not tried before. Looking at the reviews, I settled on the Lamb Chettinad. This is typically a spicy south Indian dish and was reviewed highly by others. The waiter seemed intent on talking me out of this and instead serve me a different dish, which I honestly forget the name of. It was a creamy sauce and I ordered it very spicy. Sadly, it was not very spicy. It was, however quite good, but I found myself wishing I had gone with my original order. My wife had the chicken masala, which is her go to dish at Indian restaurants. It was excellent. It might've been among the best I've ever had. Portions were little small and prices were a little high. We also had an appetizer, Lasooni Gobi, a cauliflower dish that was phenomenally good. Overall, I thought the restaurant was excellent, but I was taking a back that their scale of spiciness is so out of line with other Indian restaurants. service was excellent with the exception of a recommendation that just seemed to steer me away from what I really wanted. I will go back because there are many high points to the experience here. Next time I will insist upon the dish that I originally want.

A horrible dining experience at Ghee Indian Kitchen…read more The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. The decor is sophisticated and modern, and the lighting is pleasant, perfect for a date. I also liked that the kitchen is open and integrated with the dining room. However, the service was terrible from the moment I arrived. I had an OpenTable reservation and stood waiting over 15 minutes at the host stand. The host disappeared, leaving me standing awkwardly in the middle of the server pathway while servers carrying trays had to ask me to move. I ordered the tasting menu. The snacks were the best part of the night: * Yellowfin Tuna Bhel: Spectacular, the best dish of the entire night. * Samosa Chaat: Quite good. * Green Papaya Salad: Average. * Charred Corn: Good but nothing special. * Crispy Broccoli: Phenomenal, one of the highlights. * Peri Peri Chicken Wings: Good, especially the sauce. However, after the snacks they made me wait more than 20 minutes with an empty table (the restaurant was half empty) before bringing any main courses. The main courses were very disappointing: * Chicken Tikka Masala: The worst I've ever had. Extremely bland. * Kerala Lamb Curry: Very average and completely flavorless. * Dal Makhani: Decent, the only acceptable as a side. * Turmeric Marinated Fish Curry: Excellent, the only main worth eating. * Seed Naan: Served burnt (they replaced it after I complained). The servers mumbled so badly when explaining the dishes that it was nearly impossible to understand what I was eating. In a tasting menu, having clear and proper explanations of each dish before eating it is very important, and that was completely lacking. I also asked four times for the house spicy sauce to two different servers and it was never brought. To make matters WORSE, when a friend stopped by to say hello and tried just two bites of my food, the staff aggressively confronted and pressured me, insisting that he had to pay for a full tasting menu. Their behavior made me feel like I was being scammed and left me extremely uncomfortable. I went very excited to this restaurant because of the great reviews, but it was a big letdown that completely ruined my date and dinner experience.

The quality of the food is truly unmatched. The koobideh platter or chicken joojeh platter are typically my first pick; with a side of their salad, rice and sumac sauce, simply made to perfection. You can tell the owners have poured their heart into the business, because the food and the service speak for themselves. Another plus? The pricing. It serves halal Persian cuisine in a fast casual environment. This location in South Miami is quite small, with only seating for 10 or so people. One thing we noticed right away was the delicious smell coming from the indoor grill...pretty much told you that the roasted meats were going to be good. I wasn't too hungry so ordered the small plate of Koobideh ($15). The cashier was nonchalant when asked about what to recommend. Once ready, it was brought over to our table. It came with a large mound of saffron rice, which was quite good. A better choice would have been half and half of a small salad with the rice. The koobideh was very similar (even exactly the same to my untrained palate) to a Turkish adana kebab or an Arabic kefta...made with a combination of beef and lamb ground meat, made flatter vs round. It was warmed/cooked over a grill and had that nice char taste that one gets from grilling. I didn't notice there were condiments in ketchup/mustard squeeze bottles until too late...it gives the place a kind of hot dog joint feel which I don't think was the intention.
