    Marinated Pork Quesadilla & Rice
    Valerie B.

The food tasted great and the service was good! Not a ton of variety but it's a small place. I ate the marinated pork(marinated in pineapple) quesadilla with rice as my side. My daughter had a chicken quesadilla which was delicious as well. The rice was dry so I wouldn't recommend. The mango salsa was super flavorful & the green sauce was just the right heat! All in all I would recommend and I would eat there again. For 4 adults the cost was about $52.

Best tacos in all of Kentucky. Salsa is delicious. Try the fire salsa and the mango pico de Gallo.

Notice NO queso on our queso burrito and they left out our order of queso and chip...

Order is NEVER right, Their cashier Ko has the worst customer service ever, showed pictures of a messed up order with my receipt and they gave us queso, which they for got to put on our queso burrito (WHAT?? I mean what is a queso burrito with NO QUESO??!), but refused to give us the queso and chips that they forgot. We even called after our order was placed to kindly ask that they double check it since this is ALWAYS AN ISSUE. Their food is good but the accuracy and customer service is definitely DISAPPOINTING.

$2 tacos? Yes please! Taco salad was just ok - for the price I would skip it

The tacos here are awesome and SO CHEAP!! Also, they have a salsa bar and they make the salsas in house! YUM! You need to check it out! You won't be disappointed and the price is hard to beat!

Absolutely delicious authentic tacos! I had Al Pastor and Carne Asada. Both were exceptionally tasty. The salsa bar had lots of choices and toppings. The only suggestion I'd make is for the onions and cilantro to be made available separately on the bar. I like more cilantro and less onions than were available in the mixture. All in all my favorite tacos in Shelbyville! Can't wait to go back!

This is your typical mexican restaurant. The food was decent, a 6/10 for the tacos. However the sopes are to die for. Portion sizes for meat on tacos are a little small but the tacos were two dollars. The restaurant isn't really inviting and the decor looks old. Service was decent.

So I was told I had to wait 20 minutes. When they came to get me, guess where they sat me...in the bar!! WTAF?? Yes it was on a table, a broken table, unclean and sticky, but still in the bar in a crowded spot. As expected, zero service! I had to wait to even be greeted and when finally greeted...all I got was "what do you want to order?"! No help, no introduction, no hello or welcome! We were welcomed warmly and seated at what I think is the very best table in the restaurant. It's the booth that feels like you're almost in your own private room. It kind of hugged us into our own little world and was perfect for a birthday dinner. Then there was Joel, the loveliest of servers. Fun, funny, knowledgeable about the food and just delightful. Joel gets five stars all by himself. We all started with the El Luchador cocktails. They were SPICY. Probably a touch too spicy for some people, but we loved them. Now, I'll be honest. When I first looked at the menu, I was concerned. I don't like goat cheese. I know, I know. I like ALL the other cheeses, just not goat cheese. And this is a goat cheese heavy menu. But I jumped to conclusions because there turned out to be plenty for me to eat. We started with the PAN CON TOMATE. Get this. It's amazing. It seems like it should be simple, but they've somehow elevated it to another level. SANDÍA CON MACHA. This is one of those dishes where you imagine someone in the kitchen putting these flavors together and asking, "Is this good?" And the answer is YES. ACEITUNAS ALIÑADAS Y QUESO MURCIA AL' VINO. They were kind enough to keep my olives from mingling with the goat cheese. The olives I had were meaty and delicious. MEJILLONES CON VINO. My FAVORITE. The mussels were fantastic, but the fennel and that dreamy broth were what really did it for me. PULPO. I tried it. It was delicious. Eating octopus just freaks me out because they're so smart. This is not Mita's fault. This is between me and the octopus. TOSTADA DE CANGREJO. My second favorite thing of the night. A party-in-your-mouth situation. YUM. TACOS DE CORDERO. I didn't eat these, but the others in our party were very happy. BROCHETAS DE POLLO. By this point we were FULL, but these were still very good. Tender, nutty and just the right amount of kick. Overall, the flavors here are unexpected in the best possible way and clearly created by someone who really knows their stuff. If you're up for a culinary adventure, this is absolutely the place. And even if you're not particularly adventurous, there are plenty of delicious things here that can make a special night feel even more special. My wife and I ordered the same steak, prepared the same way--medium rare--but hers was incredibly tender while mine was unusually tough, sinewy, and difficult to cut, let alone chew. (those were my em dashes btw) After cutting into both steaks, it was clear they had been cooked properly, so this wasn't a kitchen issue. Sometimes a supplier simply sends an inconsistent cut of meat. What mattered was how the restaurant responded. The staff immediately offered several options: remove it from the bill, replace it, prepare another one to take home, or do whatever else was necessary to make sure I still had a great experience. That is the mark of a restaurant group that consistently "gets it" and truly understands its customers and community. The mezcal Old Fashioned is definitely worth trying if you enjoy a smoky drink. It isn't nearly as aggressively smoke-flavored as some of the "smoke box" Old Fashioneds served elsewhere. The mezcal gives it just the right amount of character and fits the restaurant's atmosphere perfectly. The beans, rice, and sauces were all excellent. The guacamole with plantain chips is practically a must-have. At this point, I've tried nearly the entire menu and have never regretted stepping outside my comfort zone. The next time you visit, try something you might not normally order and you may discover a new favorite. Kudos to the entire staff, especially Lisandra. And be sure to finish with the chocolate cake and ice cream!
