This is another late review from the trip we made to Virginia (in Colorado now). This is an ok place to get a quick lunch. I took a break from shopping and came here to have something to eat. I had the Mongolian barbecue but I had it with noodle, shrimp and vegetable. It's easy, you pick the raw stuff and give it to them to cook on the big round metal grill. I remember having this in one of the deli lunch places in Manhattan in midtown, long time ago, maybe late 90s. This place made my plate ok, but I like the "made-to-order" lunch at a fast food place like this. At least I didn't order the cooked food that's been sitting too long outside. Solid mall food option. Every night around 7, sushi prices roll back to BOGO 50 % off. For like $16, you and your sweetie can gorge on two rolls and a hot food option. I recommend the pad Thai. It's so good and sweet--I think it has honey in it. The rolls are just whatever's left over. The salmon and veggie were both good. I've gotten good little tuna rolls there too, but the tuna nigiri look sketch last night. Still, it's overall an excellent deal and never let me down. This has been my go-to mall food since like 2012. read more

This place has been open since June or July...but half a year later I'm seeing it for the first time. Your typical mall food that has chinese, sushi, and mongolian grill. What I like about this place is you add all the ingredients yourself in a bowl, including the sauces, tell them which meat you want, and then they grill it on the large mongolian grill. If you want something a little bit different from the typical mall food, yet familiar, this is a good option. $7.50 for the mongolian grill plus an additional drink will probably cost you about $10. This is a great spot to eat in Tysons. It's next to panera, Panda Express and California pizza. I would get their unlimited bowl hibachi. So this is how it works. You grab a wooden bowl. You place all the ingredients for your hibachi into that one wooden bowl. Whatever you can fit into the bowl you get to eat. No matter how little or how much you get into that wooden bowl. No matter how much food you can fit into the wooden bowl it's the same price of less than 9$. Once you place all your desired ingredients into the wooden bowl, you hand it over to the cook. The cook adds your meat and cooks all the ingredients for you right before your eyes. It's a really good deal! In addition, the California rolls are a quick and fast meal. They are already prepared and packaged. It's waiting for you in the open face refrigerator to the left end of the store. The California rolls are pretty good considering that it is take out restaurant. read more

One of my regular joints in Tysons Corner Center, it's where I go when I get lured in by the scent of Cinnabon and then remind myself I can't have a giant cinnamon bun for dinner. The primary concept is basically a Mongolian grill type of deal. (They also have menu items a la carte and sushi.) Here's what you do: 1) Pile on the veggies. Don't worry about it, basically fill your bowl. 2) Shake your head in embarrassment as you then pile lo mein noodles on top of said bowl. This will be the most challenging part of the process, as the noodles really want to stay put as part of one big noodle blob. 3) Laugh nervously as you then try to slip sauces through the small cracks left in your bowl. 4) Tell the chefs what meats you want while avoiding eye contact because shame. Not the best I've ever had but definitely a super solid option. And people seem really happy with their a la carte menu, so maybe it's high time I tried that out and stopped averting the staff's eyes? NOTE: They give you a very small water cup, so just be aware that you will likely need refills. read more

I ended up at this place for a quick lunch as it is 5 minutes away from my work in Tysons Corner. The place was pretty crowded which is usually a good sign. I ordered General Tso's chicken (which by the way has no known link to the General. In my research when the people in town of General Tso were interviewed, they had no clue about such a dish). As I was reading the menu I decided to take couple of pictures for Yelp. One of the cashiers behind the counter totally freaked out (lol). He came out from behind the counter and he was holding a knife not to scare me but he said "What are you taking pictures of?" - I said your menu? He said "Why?" I said because maybe I want to send it to my friend. He was so freaked out about it that it made me feel totally awkward. He said our owner doesnt like anyone taking pictures of anything here. I was like "Dude you need to calm down, its jjust a menu (not some Crabby Patty Secret Formula\ (I never thought I could use a Spongebob reference on Yelp! but I just did). The food was pretty good but because of my odd chemistry with this Kungfu master with a knife, I felt a bit odd sitting and eating there. People need to relax. Went to Asian Bistro for lunch the other day. I have been to Tysons Mall a gazillion times now but have never tried Asian Bistro until today. I had heard good things about the Mongolian Gill option and wanted to give it a try. I was not disappointed! I filled up my bowl with all the stuff I like - beef, vegetables, and topped it off with some spicy sauce topping and noodles. The dish was cooked perfectly and tasted yum too. A word of caution - the spicy sauce is really spicy - lie Thai spicy so beware!!! All in all, a good option for lunch and cheap too! read more

I needed a quick bite to eat while shopping at the mall, so I ordered a miso soup and grabbed a prepackaged salmon crunch roll from the sushi fridge which rang up to $8 in total. The miso soup was a large portion but I was actually able to watch that is made from miso soup instant powder - and that's how it tastes like: Not that great. The roll was pretty good for being prepackaged sushi although I had to shake off some of the copious amount of tempura flakes covering it and to my surprise there was no salmon inside the roll (just a bit on top) but crab meat. Overall, this is not a bad place for a cheap and quick lunch since you can also assemble your own lunch special at the raw food counter which the cook then prepares on the Mongolian grill. read more

Your hand crafted mongolian BBQ bowl for $7.50 in the tysons corner mall. the only complaints are they allow you to pick one meat or pay more for additional meats and there is no lamb on the BBQ. alos the sauces to add while cooking are limited, but it's cheap though the drinks are $1.99 which means your meal runs atleast $10 a small portion of rice is served along with the cooked BBQ. Parking is a nuisance and the construction outside the mall is aggravating. recommended for a mall meal and it can be healthy if you don't add oil or too many noodles. read more

So this is basically buffet style pick your own veggies and what not, and they always give a scoop of rice. I just wanted a lot of veggies, which doesn't fit very well into your bowl. I had to use my hand and smash everything in to make it compact. Then I added some noodles at the end cause I'm a sucker. I added some hot sauce, and chilli sauce, and then boom onto the grill it goes. I saw a sign for $1 for double chicken and I got it. I could probably count how many pieces of chicken I got. My meal cost $9.5 definitely not worth it. I had maybe 8 pieces of chicken and they were all super thin cuts, so I'm assuming if I didn't double up I would have gotten 4 pieces.... I should have just gone to panda express and got 3 items. Whatever lesson learned. Definitely good if you just want lots and lots of veggies, I don't think its possible to get your moneys worth though cause its $8.5. read more

4 stars for the Mongolian BBQ. But.... not the most sanitary of places! I like the concept of the Mongolian BBQ and the fact that you only put the stuff and sauces you want in your bowl and then they cook it up to order. I like the fact that when we told them my husband is allergic to peanuts, they cleaned the cooking surface before they put his on. But what I don't like is the way you pile all the stuff in your bowl and then it touches the tray and the counter before it gets cooked. Also the tongs are always greasy feeling on the handles. And you are using the same tongs for different items which leads to cross contamination. It just seems very unsanitary. But I have eaten here 4 times and have not had a food safety issue after the fact. If it was strictly on concept and taste alone I would say 5 stars. And if it was strictly on how gross I feel when I pick up the tongs and I see my noodles touching trays and counters it would be 3 stars or less. But taking everything in to consideration and taking the fact that we keep coming back here, it's a solid 4 stars!! We have only had the Mongolian BBQ so I cannot speak to any of the other items they offer. If you are shopping at Tysons and have a hankering for Asian food, give it a try! read more

Toxic! this is a HORRIBLE and Big NO-NO place to eat!!! They do not follow food safety procedures! it was a red flag when one of its employees used a Hot tap water for cooking! i mean hot water straight from the tap, which is not considered to be drinking water for many reasons one of those that it can be treated with chemicals! I am very disappointed. I went to the mall with my friends and i ordered spicy lo mein with no bean sprouts as i was allergic. When I picked up my food and sat down I opened the carry out box and to my surprise there were bean sprouts. When i went back to the woman at the cash register and told her that i ordered the lo mein with no bean sprouts because im allergic, she proceeded to give me a little styrofoam bowl and told me to "pick up" the bean sprouts. When I asked to see the manager she said he is busy. 1. Very rude 2. I could have had a bad allergic reaction 3. I had to throw the whole thing away and wasted my money. read more

The Mongolian grill here is awesome! You get a salad-sized bowl to fill with all the veggies & noodles you can possibly cram in (piling noodles 6 inches in the air without losing any is a fine art). Then you can choose a protein to add, pour on some flavored sauces, and they cook it for you fresh on a big round grill. It's definitely healthier than the prepared stuff, and always customized to what you're in the mood for. I haven't had any of the 'typical' chinese food entrees, but judging from the samples they hand out, this place is comparatively a lot better than Panda Express next door. They also serve sushi, although I haven't tried that either. Overall this is a great lunch spot, and for $7.50 you can definitely get 2 meals out of it. read more

This is my FAV spot for sushi in Tyson's Corner Mall. My manager put me on this spot a while ago but it wasn't until a couple of months later that I actually gave it a try. I ALWAYS get the shrimp tempura and it is made to perfection. It usually takes about 10 minutes for it to be ready, but its sooo worth it. The rolls are jumbo sized compared to the sushi merry-go-round in the middle of the mall. I believe you can get the tempura for under $10. read more

Asian Bistro is probably my go to spot at Tysons lol! Ok maybe I'm hyping it a bit but it's damn good! Ive had the crispy honey chicken, lo mein, and chicken with broccoli so far. My favorite is definitely the combination lo mein. You get baby shrimp, beef, chicken, and veggies! So good! The crispy honey chicken is definitely the runner up! Its sweet, its crunchy, and its unhealthy. The bad stuff is SOOO good though lol. This place very generous with the portions so come hungry! I shall be returning for another dose of lo mein soon! If you're craving big portions of food, this is the best place to go. The Mongolian grill allows you to pick your choice of fresh veggies, noodles, meats and sauces that they cook in front of you on an enormous flat top grill. They sell other items here like sushi and typical Chinese dishes, but I only come here for the grill. I love that you can choose however much you want (or however much you can cram into the bowl haha) and also create your own flavors by adding your own sauces. It also comes with a side of steamed rice on the side. I usually eat half of it for lunch and need to save the rest for later. I do think that the workers here could be a little friendlier. Oh well. It's a quick grab and go place at the mall. For $8 it's a very decent price for all the food you get. On a side note: I did try the miso soup here one time when I was in the mood for some hot soup and it was HORRIBLE. Please do not attempt. Waste of $3. read more

This place had surprisingly good food for an Asian fast food joint in the mall. Get the Taiwanese noodles. It's hot and flavorful. I thought there was a decent amount of meat and veggies. Okay prices with huge portions! The food was also not overly oily like many take-out places. The service is okay. They do not speak english very well, but remember! It's just a mall fast food restaurant. Good place to go refuel after a good shopping session. I would recommend it to anyone looking to grab something to eat in that shopping plaza. read more

This spot has been around for years. I used to come here when I worked in the mall back 8-9 years ago. They just moved their spot in the food court about 2 doors down. I always would come here for the fresh to order sushi or the Mongolian grill. The best thing here though is probably the Mongolian grill. If you order the sushi, don't pick up a pre-packaged sushi platter. Request them to roll it fresh. TRUST ME! You can't really go wrong with the Mongolian since you are choosing all your ingredients and flavors. I always liked the flavors and options they had to offer. I haven't been in awhile but have been meaning to try it out and see if it is how I remember it to be. I see some of the same people that work here from when I used to frequent so I can only assume that it is probably still decent, especially for food court food! read more

I used to like this place, and if I planned to eat in the food court downstairs instead of the one upstairs or at one of the sit-down places in the mall, Asian Bistro was my go-to. Not anymore. The mongolian barbecue station had really old ingredients out, and there wasn't much variety of green veggies available.The sushi was mislabeled, as I grabbed spicy tuna rolls, but they were just regular tuna rolls. My gf and I drive all the way from Rockville md to Tyson's just to have their noodles. You can create your own entree and add what you want to the noodles and the chef cooks them the way you want. Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Very good price for the amount you get too! read more

Asian Bistro is definitely one of the best takeaway eateries in Tysons. It's no fancy restaurant but the food is good and they have a LOT of menu options. My favorites are the sushi and Pad Thai, but I always get the sushi fresh and made to order--the ones in the cooler aren't bad but it's well worth the extra couple minutes to wait for them to make you a fresh roll. I like crunchy eel and avocado (the "crunchy" being tempura) but the spicy tuna rolls are excellent, as are the shrimp and avocado. The Pad Thai isn't as spicy as you would expect but it's flavorful and filling. The portions are great (8 sushi rolls is exactly enough for me, and the Pad Thai is 2-3 meals which is AWESOME) and the service is pretty good. They always remember me when I come by which is nice. Bottom line, Asian Bistro is my go-to spot for Asian cuisine when I'm at Tysons and they do not disappoint! read more

I'm actually in awe at what they accomplished; how can Hunan chicken be dripping with sauce and yet still taste like nothing? Absolutely no flavor. Where did it go? But we have had a very bad experience, they served bad spoiled food for dinner, when we ordered Noodles, for the first bite we felt some think wrong with smell and food, Went back to exchange for a Fried Rice, but the lady in the counter never agreed to exchange for different dish. We wanted to be good, even though they served spoiled food, all we tried to do is exchange, she didnt accept and asked to pay full price. I don't like almost all the Chinese food station in malls for all those Americanized 'food'. But this place is exceptional and exceptionally good. We went to tysons center like weekly basis, always just passed this place and got food from Panda Express. Until one day my wife was surprised to find their Chinese menu. Ever since then no Panda Express any more. We always order fish fillets in spicy sauce, pork belly slice with scallion. Very nicely done and consistent. Staffs are friendly. As most of these dishes are freshly cooked after ordering, you will have to wait longer. But definitely worth the waiting. read more
