Our dishes arrived promptly, beginning with a delicious hot and sour soup, followed by what seemed to be homemade chicken dumplings. In fairness, have not had a dinner meal there to rate this fully.. but the 'Lunch Special' was a huge let down.. I get Lunch Specials at Chinese Restaurants all over the area, but I've never had one this small and this expensive.. it was a child's portion & even the egg roll was half size of any egg rolls at any other restaurant - also they would not let me order an egg roll a la carte. Fine little Chinese restaurant in Tysons, near Walmart. We had soup (egg drop, wonton), Szechuan chicken and moo shoo chicken. The food is ok, service is good, and if I were grading on a curve because it is probably a rare halal Chinese restaurant, I'd have to up my rating. read more

Salam and Good Evening! My family has been coming here since they opened a couple years ago! Aunty is amazing and very welcoming. She seems to know all of her regulars and always takes time from her busy kitchen to come by say hello. Soups (chicken corn soup family size our go to) are incredible! Today we tried the chili chicken (it's spicy so be prepared if you like milder foods) and Hunan chicken. 10/10 and the reasoning is the food and soup always tastes exactly the same as we had it before. !!! COCKROACH ALERT!!! ,................ This was my first and last visit to Hunan village restaurant, Tyson corner, VA. I heard their food is good but I didn't know their hygiene would be so bad. I was there at lunch time and I was the only customer at that moment, later a family came with children. I Ordered Mongolian beef. The proportion was ok but not enough for me. So after finishing beef I wanted to try their shrimp noodle soup. When it arrived, it looked delicious. I was really enjoing it. After 6-7 spoon, I found a COCKROACH !!!!! YES, YOU ARE SEEING RIGHT, COCKROACH!!!! I enjoyed the Mongolian beef so good, that now my mind replaced that enjoyment with disgust! I immediately asked for the owner and the old Chinese lady came, told me she's the manager. She saw it and she said sorry we cleaned the kitchen hood previous night, probably this came from there. I was like WTF!!! How the F*** that could be a reason? This means, either your restaurant is COCKROACH infested, which you failed to control even by cleaning or your restaurant has cockroach infestation already but you didn't care!!! I ordered the dumplings and the pancakes, and both were a big letdown. The dumplings were bland and tasted like they'd been reheated rather than freshly made. The "pancakes" weren't pancakes at all, just plain flour tortillas, which felt lazy and misleading. Service was fine, but the food quality really missed the mark. read more

We ordered Singapore Noodles, Steamed Vegetable, Egg drop soup, Vegetable Dumplings etc. Waiter did make two errors- spice level asked was not what we got, had to send back singapore noodles. Extremely disappointed. From the street it looked inviting however once inside you can tell they don't take care of the place. Funny smells, multiple ceiling lights out, copy paper signs in sheet protectors taped up everywhere alerting you that you must spend a minimum of $10 per person. No music. Staff was not friendly at all. Refused to acknowledge when I repeatedly said thank you. I'm not sure what halal is but it must mean no flavor and chewy meat with cold rice. More like Haram Hunan Village. If people think this is the standard for Chinese food, then quite frankly they don't know Chinese food. Just having the word halal doesn't equate to quality. My birthday, September 9th, was meant to be special, especially because my 7-year-old daughter saved her own money to buy me a beautiful gold chain as a gift. She was so proud to give it to me. After our celebration at the restaurant, we got home and realized the gift was left behind at the restaurant . My husband immediately called the restaurant, and Zoya, one of the staff, reassured us that she had found the gift box and would keep it safe for us to pick up the next day. But when we went back, everything changed. Suddenly, the staff couldn't find the gift. They claimed the box was empty. The manager, Mr. Imran, promised to check the cameras, but then he made excuse after excuse. No calls back. No answers. Just silence. My daughter's gift was stolen, and no one seems to care. My little girl asks me every day if they've found her gift for me. She's heartbroken, and as a mother, it's the most painful thing to see. That chain wasn't just jewelry--it was a symbol of her love and pride. To have it taken and then ignored by the people who promised to help has left us feeling betrayed and helpless. I'm sharing this because I don't want anyone else to go through what we did. It's not just about losing a material item--it's about losing trust and seeing my daughter's heart crushed. I've been here multiple times and the food is always the same. Delicious and hot. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is great, they always give a hello when you come in. Overall highly recommend, Hunan chicken and Mongolian Beef are some of our faves. Additionally though not a Thai spot, their drunken noodles are great! read more

My wife and I are vegan and this is our go to restaurant for excellent vegan Chinese options. We love it so much that we drive from downtown Silver Spring every time we crave Chinese despite living minutes from several other options. The food is always amazing and the portions are huge! The food wasn't greasy which is a plus for any Chinese restaurant but every Chicken dish was clearly the same dish which was very disappointing. It was the same prep and sauce with some minor additions or subtractions to fit the description. For example, orange chicken had a few orange peels and General Tsao's chicken had a few red peppers thrown in. The egg rolls may have been good in house, but the wrappers were overly thick and thusly mushy upon arrival. The beef dishes were also pretty much all the same but we were all impressed at the high quality of the meat being used. The beef dishes were definitely a cut above the chicken dishes. Halal Hunan. Hail Hunan. This quaint place across the street from the Walmart was quite refreshing. The service was great, and the food was great. Not overly greasy and very flavorful.
