    Bibimbap
    Mei P.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now and I finally had time today to grab lunch. Like the other reviews say it is HARD TO FIND! Entrance is on the side of Enterprise and parking is usually pretty packed. Beware! There are Enterprise ONLY parking spots! DO NOT PARK THERE. The restaurant itself is a small office cafe-optimized for people to grab their lunch and go. They have several menu items such as sandwiches, bibimbap, and hibachi bowls. I ordered the classic bibimbap with brown rice. It was very fresh and delicious! One of my favorite meals in a while and it was under $10 which is a sweet deal! The veggies were very fresh and I enjoyed the brown rice's consistency! The marinated beef was good but some pieces you could tell were over cooked and not as tender as you would like. Overall, a great hidden gem to grab a ~healthy~ lunch with your coworkers if you are in the area.

    Bi Bim Bap bowl

I came to this place a few times to grab a quick lunch since it is very close (walking distance) to my job. It can get very busy during lunch but even with the crowd, the food is always the same quality. I have tried a few things off their menu: Tacos: pork tacos here are pretty good. It's a good portion and has a lot of flavor. You get 3 tacos for about $7.50. Burrito: I have tried the kogi beef burrito and the spicy pork. Both are good and flavorful. One thing I noticed is the burrito is mostly rice so there are some bites where you only get rice and tortilla. Also a good portion for about $7.50-$8. Bi Bim Bap bowl: I really enjoyed this! It's a large portion and quite good! It's $11 so a little on the pricy side for lunch but it's made with all fresh ingredients and will definitely fill you up. Sushi bowls: I have created my own and picked off their menu (sushi ko) and honestly this is my favorite dish here! It's always fresh and very delicious. The portion is just right. The sushi bowls cost between $11-$13 depending on if you choose off their menu or create your own. Overall, this is a good option for lunch if you work in the Greensboro area but is pricy compared to other lunch spots. They also have a good selection of lattes and coffee/tea beverages as well as breakfast. Breakfast is reasonably priced ($2 for bagel and cream cheese)

    Menu to customize your bowl

TLDR; Entrance is on the side of Enterprise Rent A Car, Good food, and long lines during lunch rush. If you are in the Greensboro area, and you are looking for a quick bite to eat, this place usually does the trick for me. Finding this place is a little tricky due to the fact that the entrance is towards the back of the building on the side of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Once you walk along side the building you will have to walk through two sets of doors before reaching the Eatery which is a lot closer then it sounds. They have a variety of customizable bowls, sandwiches, and salads to choose from. My goto is their Classic Bibimbap without the bean sprouts and carrots because i'm allergic to carrots. I wish they would let me substitute it for things that I'm not allergic to, but it's an additional 50 cents for each substituted item. I personally don't like their gochujang sauce because it has a weird citrus flavor to it, but their cilantro peanut dressing is awesome. I would get a customized bowl, but the bowls start at $7 dollars and for each protein or vegetable you choose, the price gets added on. Price wise, I like the signature bowls, because you get more for what you pay for, but that's just me. The lunch rush usually starts at 12 and the line becomes super long, but they make the food pretty quickly so the line goes pretty fast. Overall, the food is pretty good and when I have meetings all day this is my go to spot for a quick bite that won't put me to sleep afterwards.

    Hawaiian Bowl. Yum!!!

Hawaiian bowl is the best. Salmon. Brown rice. Killer. Parking is hard but worth ot to go here.

    Vita bowl
    Ian M.

Not a bad, got the Vita bowl (chicken, carrots, kale, cucumber, jicama, beets, rice, misc veg) with a side of miso. Miso wasn't bland but wasn't super flavorful. The vita bowl came with a sweet and spicy red sauce. They have sricha there for people that want more spice. The bowl itself is actually kind of deceiving in that you see all these exotic vegatables on the top but once you eat past the top layer, the bottom is really just a romaine and spinach salad. The experience started out good but towards the end of the meal it felt like i was just eating a salad as oppose to a bimbimbop style bowl. My friend Jason got the Sushi-ko bowl and he felt the same way. He also noted that he enjoyed the salmon better than the tuna. Service was quick and there is limited seating. They have several TVs which are displaying the menu.

Sushi Bowl with white rice, red cabbage, cucumber, mixed greens, avocado, dried seaweed, masago and tuna
    Mel L.

Great place to get a healthy lunch. I ordered a Sushi Bowl with white rice, red cabbage, cucumber, mixed greens, avocado, dried seaweed, masago and tuna - I loved every bite. The food was so fresh and absolutely delicious. The service is pretty efficient - they seem to have figured out how to move the lunch crowds quickly so that nobody has to wait too long.

hawaiian bowl. coke cap for size reference.
    John L.

TL;DR One of the better examples of equal quantity to quality; serious bang for buck (In my included picture, I added a Coke cap for size reference). Healthy(er? What is healthy now anyway? Compared to what I usually eat, just looking at this bowl makes me feel healthier I guess). Will be back to try more, they have quite a variety of menu items. ___________________________________________ I'll echo what a previous fellow said here: it's nice to have a quick (or perhaps only?) Korean option in the Tysons area. I'm a white rice fiend, and I hunger for it on an almost daily basis. But alas, this area always disappoints me. Off topic, you'd think Tysons being Tysons would have better lunch options that would fit into a 30min-1hour window. I frequently expend more energy thinking about where I can go eat than I do actual work in the first half of my workday. I found Banban today by typing "rice" into Yelp near Tysons Corner, VA. I'm not kidding. A few observations for those interested in the longer rundown: 1. For about $11 (without a drink), it's hard to think of another place where you can get these kinds of ingredients and this amount of food. I actually think you could probably attempt to do it: everything you see in one of these bowls, you could probably get at Whole Foods in their pay-per-pound box things, but with the fish (or meat protein), it'd easily be double (this bowl is weight heavy). 2. It's straightforward. I appreciated that more than anything about my meal. It's not drowning in any heavy secret sauces and it doesn't have some foreign ingredient that the house thinks to add to inject some kind of uniqueness. It's the expected flavors of each individual ingredient put together to form a very thoroughly palatable experience. 3. Everything in my bowl was fresh. The greens were obviously fresh. The white rice (YESSSSS) came out of a gigantic steamy rice cooker that opened with a billow cloud of glutinous glory. And the fish.. well I'm no fish expert. But it felt (yes felt) and tasted fresher than many places I've been to that serve raw fish in Northern Virginia, sad as it is to say. I often eat raw fish at home, and I have eaten wild caught fish freshly prepared, and wild caught fish that have been frozen then thawed for maybe a week or two. Fish that's been frozen too long have a funny mouth texture when thawed to serve, so I can at least determine that that, it's not. Then again, we're not sitting here debating whether it should be of bluefin quality for $11. This is already too long a review for a 30 minute interaction with a bowl of rice. With places like these, the praise is redundant and the criticisms are few. As it goes with any place that presents both quality and quantity in a cheap package, I do hope they stand the test of time; it's always sad to experience huge dropoffs due to economic and competitive pressures. Cheers, I'll be back for more rice.

    Chirashi Bowl ($10.95)
    Puloma D.

Both my co-worker and I are bought the Chirashi Bowl. ($6 for grand opening day!). I had the salmon w/ ponzu sauce which was super tasty! He had the Salmon/Tuna mix w/ gochujang sauce which he stated as very good. They do a pretty good job of the 50/50 split so no size disparity there. You can pick either Tuna/Salmon for the protein, White/Brown Rice, and an assortment of sauces. The bowl is also super filling so no issues on size. These bowls are regularly $10.95 which to me is rather high for the area. I don't think I would pay nearly $11 bucks for a bowl on a regular basis so I'm not sure if its worth going back. There are many other items on the menu which I will probably be trying out in the near future which are a little bit more reasonable priced. Also this eatery seems to be owned by the same people who own the Greensboro Cafe which has significantly cheaper lunch prices a building over. ($7.50 for daily lunch specials).

Customized Chirashi Bowl: quinoa, half salmon and half tuna, sriracha
    Allison S.

When I used to work in this area, I never really explored to go out for lunch, besides Greensboro Cafe, but I was glad when I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Disclaimer: this review is biased since my family has been friends with the owners and their family for over 15 years, BUT I am still going to be 100% honest about this eatery. For lunch, I usually go for something light and fresh because I don't want to fall into a food coma during the last couple hours at work. My coworker and I couldn't wait to try this place when it finally opened since we're both sushi lovers. If I had to simply describe this place, it is like an Asian version of a Chipotle, Cava, Roti, etc. When I first ordered the chirashi bowl, I liked everything about it except for the korean gochujang sauce because it didn't harmonize with the other ingredients, but in my opinion, the gochujang sauce goes splendidly well with the bibimbap. After the first visit, my coworker and I came here once a week and always ordered the chirashi bowl, but we were so glad that we were able to customize our chirashi bowls by switching out the rice for quinoa instead and asked for no sauce. After we receive our orders, we always drizzle sriracha all over the ingredients. Since sriracha can get pretty spicy, they offer complimentary lemon water at the cash register area. For the price of the rice/sushi bowls, it's the same as the other poke bowl restaurants in Northern Virginia. In addition, the price is worth it because all of the ingredients are super fresh and the quantity is huge! What's so great about this place is that not only do they offer rice/sushi bowls, there are also sandwiches, wraps, and more! All of the employees are very friendly and the environment is cute and clean. Also, the place is a little bit cramped and the line forms pretty quickly during lunch time, but they are fast and efficient when it comes to service. There is also outdoor seating, and I don't know what parking is like since I always came here by walking. If you love Banban as much as I do, you should also visit Greensboro Cafe if you haven't yet. The owners of Banban are also the owners of Greensboro Cafe. I have separation anxiety from this eatery because I haven't eaten here since September 2017 since I work in a different area now. I have yet to come back soon!

The Banban Fusion Eatery on 8251 Greensboro Drive in McLean has a great variety of Korean foods. The rice bowls, sushi bowls and salads among many other foods here are made with the freshest ingredients while offering a beautiful modern atmosphere. This place is open from 7:30am to 3:30pm on weekdays. It is closed on weekends so it helps to get there soon to enjoy the great flavors that this place has to offer. A Great Ambiance With Appealing People The Banban Fusion Eatery featured a modern look with plenty of lighting and light colors all around. The service was especially great as the people were bright and friendly. They even helped me with finding a space to park. They directed me to the two hour parking area outside the office building near the restaurant so I could easily get to the restaurant. Great Foods All Around The restaurant has some entertaining foods that mix great flavors of all sorts together. The Chirashi Bowl is a sushi bowl that mixes the great flavors and ingredients of sushi into a unique mixture. This comes with rice, tuna or salmon and mixed greens with egg, red cabbage, kale, crab and seaweed salad and dried seaweed among other things. I opted for a half tuna and half salmon version that has a more delicious texture that what I could have expected. There were plenty of great sandwiches and wraps to try out as well. The Kogi Burrito was made with marinated beef, kimchi, cucumber and kale to create a special flavor that creates a Korean twist on a popular Mexican food. Don't Forget Breakfast The breakfast options here were especially appealing. The Veggie Cheese Omelette brings mushroom, green pepper and spinach together to create a delicious starter for the day. The Banban Fusion Eatery certainly has some appealing foods that mix Korean classics with modern flavors. This is a worthwhile place for breakfast or lunch in McLean.

Can't believe I hadn't tried this place working right down the street for almost 4 years... The food is fresh & tasty. Price is not bad, considering the quality, and wouldn't deter me from coming back. Got a Hawaiian Bowl ($10.95) and a Nori Tuna sandwich ($7.95). The sandwich was delicious - tuna was grilled really well, and the aioli & ponzu sauce were a perfect complement. The baguette was toasted and held it's texture even with the sauces, which was great with the soft tuna & avocado. I do wish that it was a little bigger though because it wasn't enough to fill me up (definitely need a side of chips or something for a full meal). The Hawaiian bowl was good too. Fresh-tasting ingredients with lots of vibrant colors. Only complaint though is for that price, the amount of fish was kind-of lacking... got to a point where there was plenty of lettuce & toppings left, but no fish. Overall though, really glad I finally tried this place, and will definitely be back to try some other menu items anytime I want to switch it up from the basic sandwich/lunch spots in Tysons!

I mean just wow! The food is fresh, healthy and yummyyyy!!! I've tried the Hawaiian bowl and the tacos.... very delicious. Last time I went there the place was super. It's but I still got my food within 10 mins and we'll made. Definitely recommend the place.

Bimibap Bowl (next time I'll get it with a fried egg)
    Alicia J.

I saw this place on yelp and it's less than 5 minutes from my office, so I had to check it out. It was a little confusing for me to find, but as I walked into the lobby, I just followed the noise and found it just fine. It was crowded and took a minute to figure out what was the process, but I then saw a sight stating order at the register. I ordered the Bimibap bowl and waited less than 5 minutes. The prices seem fair compared to other places I have ordered Bimibap from, so no complaints there. When I got back to my desk and dug in, I was very happy. It tasted good, and they gave a good portion of food, so I was very satisfied. Everything seemed fresh and tasted great. I will be back for the Chirashi bowl for sure as well as other options. Glad I found this place.

Well, you got my vote and my loyalty. Place itself is not impressive and service is nice, but not superb. So,I thought on 4 stars, but this food... Wasabi - made in the house, soy sauce- made in the house by chef recipes. Soy sauce is home made!!!! Thick ,complex, tangy and not salty, amazing!!! I ordered sashimi combo this time and it's served with not white lousy rice, but takikomi gohan( please try it). This is one of the most complex flavor combinations in rice I ever had. I felt dashi broth, mirin, tons of veggies and even beans. Sooo nicely served with fish cake flowers on top. Sashimi itself was outstanding, fish selection was excellent, with scallops, squid and freshest cuts of fishes. Previous times I tried rolls and it was amazing as well. So,prices are high, this is not sushi eatery where you can casually grab your lunch. But if you feel like you want artistic style and refined food,or just want to celebrate yourself, this one s the place to indulge and enjoy!

Parking was easy they had some right in the front of the restaurant reserved for customers as well as a garage for more parking spaces if it got crowded. Walking inside it is a small cozy space and because I was by myself I was seated at the sushi bar. I told the sushi maker my food order and the waitress my order for wine. So fresh and so pretty how it came out! Aesthetically pleasing top notch! They gave me a few freebies seaweed salad and edamame and a side dish of pickled condiments very tasty. Because you know, they are serving raw fish and those fish are caught by fishermen. If you love sushi, I'm fairly certain you cannot go wrong at Tachibana McLean. It's hard to believe the years I spent here might have been a part of the glory days at Tachibana. When they lost their Itamae and were weathered by covid lockdowns, I think the pace of service changed. But the quality of food never has and I've enjoyed every meal here before and since. This is a classic sushi restaurant so you will not get any sort of innovative fusion rolls here. What you will get is a strict adherence to old school tradition and a focus on quality that is worth a visit. It's hard to say favorite dishes because there are so many delicious choices here. If you are sitting at the main sushi bar, you first may enjoy a free gift of whatever the Ittamae is featuring. If you like that fish, then order more of it. For sushi and sashimi, get what you enjoy here because it's fresh and lovely. Do not miss the Philadelphia rolls here because they are extra creamy and the scallions make them a real delight. I also love the New York roll and the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. Back in the day, my go-to was a spicy, crunchy salmon roll. This was always a special request but they humored me since I was a regular. I was also forever asking for a very thin slice of jalapeño in my tuna roll but you could only get that in the less-friendly and ambient sushi cafe down the street. Years later, times have changed and you can now order jalapeños, as well as tempura crumbs and spicy mayo on any roll. They have so many vegetarian rolls here, as well, so that is a whole experience if choose. You can order Japanese pickles, fermented soybean and scallion rolls, a plum and shiso roll, a gourd roll, a cucumber roll and an avocado roll. I so enjoy a big plate of veggie and shrimp tempura here. The tempura batter is not thick and just right. I also have very much liked the katsu's here: either crispy Berkshire pork loin or crispy chicken. It's an old familiar taste which you should not miss out on. The bento dinner boxes are also awesome. I usually get salmon, beef negimake, shrimp and veggie tempura, shumai dumplings and salmon sashimi. A delightful treat. The buckwheat noodles and udon soups are a bit plain and while they are classically good, i more enjoy the sushi. As for the cold sake, I recommend: the Shochikubai Nigori, the Junmai Ginjo and the cloudy pearl junmai if it's on hand. They also have Choya plum wine and a beer and wine list. You will love the green tea presentation in the gorgeous pottery, as well as that they are diligent on tea refills. Their desserts are nice but make sure you at least taste green tea ice cream once. You can get it here! It's not easy to find this at restaurants, even sushi restaurants, recently.

Oh my goodness, that seared fatty salmon, amazing. I was…read morevery pleasantly surprised that the customer service is so ON IT. I believe the avocado being unripe was an isolated event because after everything that happened with my previous order, the manger gave me a gift card to come back and rectify the situation. So my husband and I went back on a random day and we loved it. The ambiance is really cool, very nice vibe on the balcony. You can see the chefs from above & I really liked that. So it went like this: I was upset, rightfully so, then complained, the assistant manager and manger took me seriously and they recognized the issue right away & made it right! I will definitely give this place another try & come back for that fatty salmon. Thank you for taking your customer complaints seriously, it speaks volumes for a business to care.

The location is tucker at the corner of a busy plaza so I never noticed it before. It also looks really small from the outside but it's actually got a lot of seating and even had a loft! Their lunch menu seemed good so I got the beef sukiyaki bento box--soo tasty and satisfying! I used to work at a Japanese (corporate) owned restaurant back in college and this was my favorite lunch item. The flavors are similar! Their service is great also. The server remembers me (rare these days!) and they were all very attentive. If you enjoy open kitchens, sitting on the second floor allows you to watch the sushi chefs filet and make rolls. It's quite entertaining! Will be back for more happy hour :) The happy food portions are great (full size) and very tasty. Love the karaage

I am also gluten free - and they were super helpful with what I could eat with being both gluten free and pregnant! I had cooked meat and sides, with miso soup and edamame. We briefly spoke with the owner who said some of their food is flown in from Japan. Amazing!!! Now that I'm not pregnant anymore- we will be coming back to eat more off the menu, particularly their sushi :D The ambiance was great and stylish, and parking was easy for us right in front of the restaurant.

I decided to give this a try since my go to Japanese place in McLean has a boring bento box. While…read moreSho's bento box was a bit nicer, I was disappointed with the following: *Miso soup is diluted! For a sushi or bento box meal, a good miso soup is a must. *The box was tiny: I expect to be full when I consume a bento box. Sho's was much smaller than what most Japanese restaurants serve in the DMV area. *Kara age is certainly not their forte and was one of the worse ones I've had in this area Additionally, they only sell a $12 large pot of hot tea for a group, and I was surprised. They should serve a single cup size for solo diners or for a party of 2. I got an eel avocado roll to be full after finishing my bento box. While service was great, this place is way overpriced and I will stick with my regular Japanese spots.

My adventurous eater and I tried out Sushi Koji after rugby yesterday. It was a real treat. Our…read moreserver was very helpful in helping us decide what to get, and we thought we would try sashimi (after reading reviews about the place) as well as noodles. Fellow Yelpers did not steer us wrong! We ordered Otoro (fatty tuna) and sake belly (salmon belly) sashimi, listed as 3 pieces each. We also ordered tempura udon, a shrimp tempura roll*, takoyaki, and mentaiko butter udon (off the specials menu). Let me begin by saying the space is clean, roomy, and well-decorated. We enjoyed looking at the artwork and figurines, which included anime figures that we recognized. There were many tables, and though they may be physically close together, there is enough separation to be comfortable without being on top of each other or feeling cramped. There was a family of five that was seated next to us partway through the meal, and I never felt like the noise level changed or that we suddenly felt as if there were more people around. The takoyaki came out covered in bonito flakes. The sauce was a perfect blend of tempered spicy mayo as my adventurous eater enjoyed it without being overwhelmed by heat. The bites were well-sized as not to be too large, but we were able to bite in without burning our tongues our with the right balance of batter and octopus, and we both enjoyed it greatly. The sashimi came out with the shrimp tempura roll on a beautifully arranged boat - 4 pieces each! We each tried two pieces of otoro and sake belly, and the pieces just melted into our mouth. The otoro was garnished with what appeared to be hint of wasabi and maybe chopped jalapeño, which was too much for my adventurous eater to try, so I gently scraped it off. Neither of us were able to taste anything but the well-chosen slices of fatty tuna, which were a hit. We then tried the sake belly which were garnished with a sliver of fried garlic and garlic paste. Again, I scraped it off for the adventurous eater, who then raved about how delicious it was! I tried it with the garlic and agreed. The garlic was perfectly fried, and was the right amount not to overwhelm the delicate buttery texture and flavor of the salmon belly. Although, I will admit - while it's a nice flavor to add, the sashimi itself didn't need anything to be added. The tempura udon came out, with perfectly battered pieces - 2 shrimp, an asparagus, an onion ring, a slice of sweet potato, and a slice of eggplant. My adventurous eater attacked the shrimp while I munched on veggies. The batter was crispy, light, and not greasy. My mentaiko butter udon came out and I am so glad I ordered it! There was a little nest of noodles, with two halves of a soft-boiled egg, and plenty of creamy sauce. The menu described the dish as buttery and umami and it did not deceive. The udon was perfectly chewy and slurpable, coated with delicious creamy sauce. I debating mixing in the eggs because they looked so perfect, so I dipped one half in the sauce instead and ate that whole, before mixing in the other half into my bowl. Even my adventurous eater tried a little bit of my udon and agreed that it was delicious! Not having had mentaiko butter before, I looked it up before writing this review. The dish is described as being a spicy-fish roe butter sauce, but what we are talking about is a very mild heat. The dish was warming, tasty, and very comforting. It was also surprisingly light considering the buttery richness of the flavors. I finished every last bit of the noodles in my bowl and drank the rest of the sauce, with all the fish roe stirred in. I may have also commented a couple of times on how phenomenal the dish was. That was when our server shared that it was the first day it had been on the menu, so they were looking for feedback. I would say that the dish alone is worth checking out, but I feel like you will keep coming back due to the quality of everything else. I think this place is a gem and I will definitely look for excuses to return to Oakton to eat there again. Between the friendly service, the cheerful ambiance, and the amazing food, this is hitting all the right notes! * My adventurous eater filled up on everything else before even getting to the shrimp tempura roll, so we ended up packing up the rest of the udon and the shrimp tempura roll to bring home. Due to life, the roll never made it into the fridge, so we tragically had to toss it without trying it. I wish I could tell you how it was, but I can say the roll was beautifully formed and served and looked absolutely delicious. This is where I wish I had taken pictures of everything.

We ordered the Sushi…read morefor 2, which came out as a full sushi boat with around 12 different types of sushi and nigiri, and it was way more food than we expected in a good way. I initially thought it would be mostly rolls, but it leaned more toward nigiri. That said, everything was super fresh and really well prepared, so no complaints there. I recently started eating seafood again after years of avoiding it, so I have been easing into it, and this was actually a really good place to do that. The fish tasted fresh, clean, and not overly fishy, which made it a lot easier to enjoy. The Osaka roll, which our server recommended, was really good, but my favorite was definitely the paradise roll from the sushi boat. Anything with shrimp tempura is a win for me, and this one hit the spot. The ambiance is cute, cozy, and on the smaller side, which made the whole experience feel more quiet and intimate. It did not feel rushed at all, which I appreciated, especially since we were breaking our fast. We ended up taking a lot of food to go because the portions were so generous, and surprisingly, everything still tasted fresh and delicious even the next two days. The only downside is that it is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, portions, and overall experience helped justify it. Overall, great quality sushi, generous portions, and a calm, intimate vibe. Definitely a spot I would come back to, especially if I am in the mood for fresh sushi without a loud or hectic atmosphere.
