    OG Musubi
    Angela L.

Walked by this spot dozens of times on my way to HeyTea. Finally stopped in one day and ordered the OG musubi at the kiosk. Nicely decorated interior with seating. Sevice was quick. I was surprised by how large the musubi was, it definitely was filling. It looked like a lot of rice, so I wasn't sure how flavorful it'd be, but every bite had a good amount of spam, eggs, and rice with the soy/teriyaki sauce. Nothing mind-blowing, but a good filling bite that's satisfying enough if you want something savory!

Decent option to grab some quick classic Asian food in the mall. Service and decorations are okay. A bit pricey, but look no further for your poke fix.

I had the Diablo which is quite spicy but pretty good. Not sure why they force us to "choose" a sauce that add .75 cents more. It was quite larger than I expected it slightly hard to eat once you're half way through because it starts breaking an apart. The karage was slightly crunchy but the rice is very slight on the mushy side. Overall I would come back.

I was unfortunately not that impressed by Capital Musubi. The teriyaki chicken had kind of a weird flavor and the eggs were ice cold. The restaurant is pretty much self service-ordering is only available through kiosks. If you need a quick bite, this restaurant is okay-ish but I think I would rather find somewhere else to go.

I was honestly thinking that this place would be a good place to eat but really? The menu said cooked salmon instead I ate salmon that tasted out of a can. I am honestly disappointed that they don't use real fish in their menu. At least the miso soup tasted decent because of the paper container. Come once, and never again.

The chicken teriyaki musubi was great, but I don't know how to eat it without a fork. I got a side of kimchi and it was sadly disgusting. Did not taste fresh and looked blanched. I couldn't figure out how to open the onigri so I can't talk to it, lmao. The ube rice krispie was so goooooood though.

Came to check out Capital Musubi. They are located on the first floor in the smaller food court area on the Nordstrom's side near California Pizza Kitchen and next to the tea shop. You order with the kiosk. If you use the iPads to order it's a bit small unless you already know what to get. I ordered the Teriyaki Musubi and all their Musubi are super size. I would almost say it is like an onigiri cut in half. Has lots of rice but I think some more sauce was missing. It was a little dry. It is definitely filling. They also have a few dessert options to try.

I thought Capital Musubi was something new and to be honest, as a fan of musubi, when I came across this place it piqued my interest. Musubi is usually something affordable and pretty simple as far as a meal. I ordered the chicken and egg musubi and I thought it was pretty good. The service at Capital Musubi pretty much doesn't exist? It's all ordered through a kiosk and then a worker yells out your order when it comes up. There's not really interaction. I think it's weird, but I guess that's where we're headed. Just pay with a card and then no more interaction? Anyways, the price of the musubi is a little bit pricey for what it is. Then again, with the rising costs of everything nowadays I guess it is what it is. If you're looking for cheap eats, it's beginning to be very rare to find something that's affordable. The musubi isn't small, so that's something, but it wasn't something that was mind blowing amazing. Overall, I would definitely recommend those who love musubi to try Capital Musubi out. It's different, with different flavors. Don't expect the best service, but you can definitely expect to have a different type of musubi experience.

Spam musubi is one of my go to comfort food. They have a lot of different musubi options here. We tried the egg/spam and salmon ones. They were alright, it was a lot of rice. We ordered using the kiosk and had limited interaction with the staff who were being the back counter. So when we wanted to ask for a cup for water, there was no one to ask until they came out when our food was ready. We were just ignored.

Designed for pick up and go to eat in the eating area outside in the hall. Service is okay, you can order from a person or the kiosk. Food is good but a bit pricey for what you're given.

Overall the food here is good! The musubi options are huge and one is definitely enough. I liked that there were several different types to choose from! I chose El Diablo, and while the chicken was tasty with the other toppings, I did feel like it was a bit dry. There is very limited seating inside, and you can only order through the kiosk/iPads. Definitely recommend not coming here during peak time on weekends, because the wait time to receive your food can be long, as expected. Would be interested to try the other options next time!

Kiosks to order and a few seats inside, a few more outside but tysons is always busy so it can be hard to find a spot Mango Sparkling - Very carbonated -- to the point where the intense bubbles were surprising and added a slightly bitter aftertaste. The mango flavor leaned artificial. 1/5 Spicy Chicken Musubi - Definitely large and generously filled, but the texture was off. The rice was mushy, and the seaweed was soft and soggy, making it hard to bite through. Chicken was slightly dry. Just okay overall. 1.75/5 Poke Bowl (Salmon + Spicy Salmon) - The rice was seasoned but still mushy. Toppings were light in proportion to the rice, so the balance felt off. Salmon was just okay -- not very fresh-tasting -- and the spicy salmon lacked flavor. 2.25/5

Nestled between Hey Tee and Gagawa on the first floor of Tyson's Corner Mall. Very filling and reasonably priced. Its a self served spot so didn't really interact much with the waiters. The flavors were pretty good, though I feel the rice could have used some furikake to add flavor. The Loco Moco Fries had some awesome gravy that I would definitely order it again.

I put in an order on the app at 11 on the dot and ordered two items- a mix plate, and a katsu/chicken bbq plate. It's now almost an hour in and it's still not done... I am questioning how service can actually operate when it takes this long for two plates to be made. Meanwhile, I've slowly seen a bunch of plates come out for people who ordered in... not quite sure when they ordered, but when I arrived, no one was at the counter for a few minutes and then someone finally came along and saw my order receipt. I will say, while I love the chain, this specific location is unacceptably slow. The bbq mix plate is also almost $30 which is a hard sell, considering it's a lot cheaper currently in places like San Diego... I'm extremely disappointed and I don't like to give negative reviews, but customer service is lacking the check in that could have alleviated my frustration (since I was told the wait would be 15 minutes tops). I wouldn't recommend L&L in Annandale unless they made changes. Service is too slow, there's a lack of communication, and the meals are way too expensive. Again- I hate writing negative reviews, but time is valuable, and a fast casual place should be better equip with adequate staff with honest timelines. I am a believer of second chances, so please make this right.

I added this casual spot to my list a couple months ago, but didn't have concrete plans to check it out. Driving to Manassas and back on I-66 from where I live would cost half of my brain cells and all my patience. However, a few friends and I drove out to Shenandoah this past Friday evening, and I made a convincing argument that HawaU would be on the way. By the time we arrived, we were all incredibly hungry and ready to wolf down anything edible. The ordering process was easy: we ordered and paid at the counter, grabbed a seat at one of the few tables, and waited ~10-15 minutes for the food (parts of it are made to order). LOCO MOCO (BOWL) - 9.99 The chipotle-sized bowl was topped with loco moco: white rice base topped with hamburger patty, fried egg, grilled pineapple slice, and a generous pour of beef & mushroom gravy, plus sides of fresh cabbage salad and mac salad. The gravy nostalgically reminded me of the ones I'd get from cafeteria-style school lunches -- thick, salty, slightly starchy, yet oddly comforting. The egg, hamburger patty, and rice were pretty standard, but the familiarity of the gravy tied the whole dish together nicely. Both salads were good -- the cabbage was more light and refreshing, while the mac salad felt a bit heavy after all the loco moco. Since it's my first time eating loco moco, I can't say how it compares to others. However, I found HawaU's incredibly comforting and hearty. It really hit the spot for me, and I ate the whole bowl within 10 minutes. The loco moco is definitely their signature option and a must try. My friends who got the spicy pork bowl and udon thought both were just OK and not special.
