I love this place! I discovered it a few years ago after going to an event at the church a few places over. I always try to visit when I'm in town even though I've moved away. I have a low/moderate spice tolerance so I appreciate the customization they offer! The food is always yummy and hot. I ordered the Thai Pad Siew Noodles Pork and I could still hear it bubbling a bit over 20 min later. I hate getting takeout and it getting cold but their food is always hot. A hidden gem! Generous portions and affordable prices. Hard to find real crispy chongqing/szechuan chicken in Arlington. Wish it had some of that Szechuan pepper numbing sensation, but close enough! I usually have to drive to or order from Dallas/Carrolton area but this is a good local option. Singapore noodles were a little light on the curry taste, but still good overall! Had received a flyer menu, so decided to try them out. Chose to order online for delivery; a very simple process. I really appreciated that spice-level is given as option throughout their menu. We ordered: Crab Rangoon (8 pcs) and Thai Pad Siew Noodles (Beef) as well as sodas. Not only did they send an extra free order of Crab Rangoon, they also included a cup of Egg Drop Soup for free. No, no, no...this place turned out to be one of my worst ever. When I pulled up and saw how filthy the place looks, I was immediately concerned. I waited 25 minutes over the supposed pick up time and in this Texas heat, well, strike 2! Now the food, the egg rolls were good. The free crab rangoons were stale and tasted old. The hot & sour soup would have been good if the fried noodles would have been recent. They tasted old and chewy instead of crisp. The house fried rice was good as well as the house lo mein but the combo plate of orange chicken and sesame chicken was horrible! Definitely over fried and way too red. Looked for a Chinese restaurant in the area of where we were and saw a decent rating on Google and gave it a try. Let talks food: we ordered Sesame chicken. Period. One meal, common dish....shouldn't be too risky. Immediately noticed before leaving that the meal was the color Red through the plastic lid (see picture). I was sure we had the wrong order; thinking it was perhaps sweet-and-sour chicken by mistake however, sesame seeds were sprinkled on top. We laughed, thought... Well that's strange but what are you going to do. We've waited an hour in their parking lot. Hopefully, it'll taste good. Our hopes were followed by major disappointment. After a couple of bites of over-fried, crunchy bites of chicken we stopped eating. It had a strange flavor but the fried rice was edible. We have a panda express less than a mile from us so after we got home and tried the meal from Asian bowl, we immediately got back out and went to panda express and found ourselves more than happy. Atmosphere: The front of their shop looks filthy. The doors and windows are glass and they're dirty and it looked gross inside of there restaurant, now turned into a shop for pickup orders. The business appears nothing as pictured online. Now, what made the entire experience overall bad was the unusual business transaction. We placed the order online and it said that it would be ready in 25 minutes we were already in the parking lot and so we pulled up to the restaurant and saw a row of people sitting in their car, seemingly waiting for their order. This was a good sign, people aren't waiting for bad food, right?! Shortly after we arrived at the business front you could tell their operations have been modified due to Covid. There were handwritten yellow signs all over the front of the store saying to call and we will bring out to you. however, the phone line is constantly busy so I don't know how that works out. We quickly realized that we would just sit here and then they scuttle out and yell out to people in their cars, your phone number and or your name and/or the name of your food. It was such a chaotic process watching one person run back-and-forth from the inside of the shop. Each time unlocking and locking the door putting on mask and shoes and grabbing four or five bags at one time and running around yelling people's orders to the cars parked. So, with this process there was not much interaction of calling, or asking questions like why is the sesame chicken red. They handed your food and they scurried off. We place the order on Saturday at 6:35 and we received our order at 7:30 (1 hour). I've never seen anything so unusual before but they seem to be staying busy so things must be going well for them. This post is not intended to hurt their business but to hopefully prevent you from making the same mistake we did. read more

I order the Mongolian beef and FRIED RICE Why ask what kind of rice if you're going to give the customer what you want them to have? The beef is chewy yet tender. The sauce is good however it had spicy next to the name and yet it takes like regular beef and broccoli without the broccoli. I wanted fried rice & paid extra to have sweet & sour sauce FOR A REASON. I got sticky white rice!!! If I wanted white rice I would have ORDERED WHITE STICKY RICE !!! FRIED RICE WAS ORDERED FOR A REASON, if I didn't have a choice WHY ASK ?!!!!!!! Two stars because I drove too far to have chewy beef and sticky white rice. Boo to you Asian Bowl !!! I wonder if it's because there was a crib in the dining area with a little boy climbing on the tables, there was a crying baby somewhere because they were crying loudly. The lady behind the counter I'm guessing the parent had to stop and tend to the mess that was made in the dining area and pick up toys and whatever. Came back here today during COVID season. Ordering pick up is super easy: call the number on their door or yelp, order, pay and when you get there, they leave your order on the outside table. Basically contactless for you. 6 Free Crab Rangoons - as heavenly as ever. crunchy. fresh. perfect. Egg Roll - not the worst, not the best. Worth for $1 something tho Thai Basil Chicken - spicy. rich. onions. green beans. jalapeños. green bell peppers. basil so good! Panang Curry - OK for me (i'm not that fond of curry but my mom liked it. She said she wish the curry was more thick, though) Happy Family - Don't know why this was on chef's special. It includes around 5 meats for $13 which ofc is too good to be true. nothing special not much flavor. Fried rice - I think the rice was pretty good. Def better than Panda Express' "fried rice" lol Overall: The woman on the phone (who I assume was the owner) was super nice and fast. she dropped our order on the table outside and explained questions. Got a flyer that advertised this place. Decided to try it. Went online and ordered with relative ease. Took the delivery option and was given an approximate time for delivery which was missed by 10 minutes. I started to get frustrated until I saw a text from the driver that said he would be a little late due to heavy business traffic. He arrived with our food and apologized for the delay. The food was well packaged and warm. Now my rating for ANY Chinese restaurant begins with their hot&sour soup: is it spicy? Did they give me won ton with it? The online order process allowed me to pick my spice level-something I've not seen in other vendors, not just for soup, but for all my order-and it came close to what I expected. The soup was excellent, so..... I LOVED the Szechuan dumpling. My wife ordered the general tso- regular, though they have a Thai version in the chef special that I will be trying. They have a great noodle selection which pleased me. I also ordered s&s pork and the breading was crisp, the sauce was on the side, and the meat was tender along with the crunchy vegetables. I dunno what happened here, but I've had some amazing food my last two visits. I have ordered here off and on, at least once a year or so or more for a decade. Never anything great. Recently I ordered a variety of plates and every single one was amazing. I had orange beef for the kids - a pretty common plate, I had curry, a thai basil beef, some lemongrass chicken, etc - and I have eaten at a lot of Thai and fancy Asian restaurants and these plates not only held their own, they amazed me. I thought maybe the difference was between the lunch and dinner plates. Anyhow, it was so good I had to go back and back again - all with success. I talked to the workers to see if anything had changed in the last few years and the answer I found was based on the cook. So that's good and bad news. If you come on the wrong night, you get the same "eh" food they've had for decades. If you come on the right night and get "Ken" - you get mind blowing dishes. It's hard to base a business on someone who can up and leave at any time. It's also hard to make things consistent. In any case, if you had Asian bowl before and were unimpressed, call ahead, find out if Ken is there - and give it another try. It's worth the wait and money. Hopefully they give Ken a contract worthy of Dak Prescott (or more worthy) and get him to train others. lol. read more

This is one of the better Chinese American restaurants in South Arlington. ( First Chinese BBQ in North Arlington is one of my all time favorites and tastes more like what I had when I lived in Hong Kong). My favorite dish is the Thai basil shrimp but honestly, the Thai basil anything is good. The dinner portion soups are also really great, huge, and come in various options. Depending on which soup you get it comes with a different broth base and different type of noodle. I have tried them all and have no complaints. You can easily have soup for 2 (possibly 3 people). The fried rice is also good here and you can choose unique flavors such as Thai style or Japanese (has seaweed in it). The portion sizes are decent for entrees. Not huge but also not skimpy. The spare ribs are good but they are either pre-cooked or frozen because a couple of times the middle was cool. The only thing I didn't care for was the sampler because everything is fried and has no flavor. You can absolutely find something on their extensive menu for everyone. read more
