I'm surprised how severe many are with their ratings. This IS a Chinese Buffet after all. Its like expecting amazing seafood at Red Lobster; you can't begin to compare, and what is everyone comparing it to anyhow? Las Vegas buffets? If you want a variety of Chinese-American appetizers and dishes for only 7.45 all you can eat at lunchtime, then its worth a try. They'll even give you a to-go box and you can fill it as full as you'd like for 8.75. Then you don't have to enjoy tacky paint and decor. I find the food to be fresh and flavorful. They have a nice variety of veggie stirfrys (with meat). Its a little greasy....but not any different then most Chinese food. Coconut Chicken, Sesame Chicken, General Tso's, Chicken on a Stick, Eggrolls, Potstickers, Sweet N Sour, Butter Chicken, Stir Fried Rice Noodles, Chinese Green Beans....just a few of the selections to choose from. Go when it is busiest to get the freshest food. Its always busy at lunch time. Sushi is supermarket sushi, so don't expect a lot of flavor there but it's all you can eat too. It was great to find such a place since mostly everything is closed on Labor Day in addition to every Sunday. It would be very miserable of not being able to find a restaurant after hiking for 10+ hours. Food was great for the price. The only thing is about having more COVID restrictions. I lived in Kalispell for quite a while and this was always my go-to place for lunch or dinner. They keep crab legs on Supply at night so n they never let anything run empty. Their Sushi is fresh and tasty and they have every side you could want from peanut sauce to seaweed salad to plenty of fresh ginger and wasabi. I'd have to say the coconut chicken is my favorite but I also really enjoy their soup choices. A large selection to choose from and very friendly wait staff. The older fellow that works there is always smiling and I'm always happy when I get him as my waiter. And make sure to have lunch or dinner here everytime I go back to Kalispell to visit! read more

Great place. The food is always hot and ready (like I like my women) and replenished quickly. The staff are attentive and friendly. GF likes their sushi offering and I like to make multiple trips to try a little of everything. Dessert offerings are delicious with a good variety including a soft serve machine. I used to hate this restaurant but after several co-workers said that they have made big improvements I gave it another shot. I love it! This place doesn't look like much from the outside, sitting on a corner with a casino attached. After having possibly one of the worst Chinese food experiences here in Kalispell, we were gun shy. Then the housekeeper here at Red Lion said that we should try them, that they do use a lot of fresh ingredients. They are also one of the only places that don't close right at 9pm. The hours are supposed to be until 10 pm, but a guy came in at 9:40 and they told him they were closing. I haven't been to a Chinese buffet in a long time, but I know it can vary in quality. We were greeted as soon as we came in by a young guy chewing food, and put his hand over his mouth as he asked us what we wanted to drink. I can say that now because we could not hear him the first few times, as he whispered it. Okay. The whole family looked like they were through working and were sitting around all over this restaurant eating and talking on their cell phones. We got there at 9:15 and another couple were still eating. The variety was good, and they might even be a four star during the day and not at night when the stuff has been sitting around. We went for the most fresh things we could find and the stuff that looked like it just was put out. I was surprised it was as good as it was, only because of how some of it looked a little 'tired'. If you are in Kalispell, I would give them a try, they have sushi, all you can eat crab legs during dinner hours, and plenty of the usual Chinese buffet items to choose from. Really disappointing. All the chicken dishes were exactly same with a different sauce - and none of them had flavor. Thre shrimp were battered and fried with the shells on. Dishes were cold. I feel like you should have moderate expectations for most buffets. I found the food variety to be good and everything I tried was decent. The sushi bar selection was modest but, again, everything I tried was decent - and I have tried a lot of sushi. Staff was there to seat you and get you a drink when you first sit down, not much else in terms of service. I found the restaurant to be clean and the food was hot and generally fresh (I went at about 6:30 pm on a Monday). Overall, for the price, I was satisfied. Yet ANTOHER cheap and tacky eatery supplying Montana with ever growing waistlines. How these Asian eateries in the Flathead Valley get such high ratings is beyond me. It must be the natives. The food is cheap, unoriginal, loaded with high calorie salty seasonings, while using canned or frozen vegetables. Not a single one of these places in the valley offers anything above a single star. Other then Wasabi which is in a class of its own due to a sense of pride and fine ingredients. Unless you're looking for quantity and bang for the buck I would not go near any of these places. We stumbled on Asian Buffet after all day hiking in West Glacier National Park. As we were tired and hungry, but in Kalispell, many restaurants are not open or close early on Sundays. Although, we are not a big fan of buffet food (because most of buffet items are deep fried), but Asian Buffet offers a nice wide variety of entries selections from sushi to steamed crab legs. Yes, giant crab legs ( I thought they were king crabs)! The place is busy, but still provides very good customer service. In addition to the buffet, you can also order from their menu. Its been about a year ago since my wife and I stopped here. When I suggested it she reminded me the last time we went there we said we'd never go back. We decided to try it tonight and I regretted it immediately. There are virtually no beef items on the buffet anymore. All the chicken dishes taste the same and the soup is, well, let's​ not go there. The place didn't look clean. Food was not good. Lonely fish in the entry fish tank just looked sad. General Tso had no heat AT ALL. Ice cream more like ice milk. Sweet and sour sauce was just a thin, hot pink liquid. The butter for the crab legs was actually melted margarine. Not real butter. Everything had a fake, cheap feel. Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, because anything else I've tried in the two years I have lived in Montana has been FAR WORSE. This restaurant is strictly buffet, but I have seen some people come in and buy a styrofoam container of whatever. They have a sushi bar complete with ginger/wasabe/green seaweed salad, kimchee as well as three hot bars with such favorites as pork wontons, coconut chicken, General Tsao's chicken, egg rolls, two kinds of rice, as well as both kinds of soup (egg drop, hot & sour). Desserts including soft-serve ice cream... Unlike many Chinese places that CHEAT and use spaghetti, this place actually uses the right kind of noodles. The best (and cheapest) time to go is at lunch, when the buffet is regularly emptied and refilled by the busy customer base and busier kitchen. I think this must also be a family-run business. The main female manager is a young mother, very sweet and kind. I have never had anything but good experiences here, and we've gone many times. read more

This is the only Chinese buffet in the valley. Unfortunately they are basic and they have no ambition to change their formula because they don't have any competition around. Average to small food variety, foods needs to be refreshed quicker, my wife says everything is too salty, good customer service though, but a very BASIC Asian experience here. If you want to experience a real chinese buffet and have plans to go to Missoula try China Buffet on 1910 Brooks st. You wont be disappointed (of course go during during peak service for maximum food refreshing). They will have to carry you out in a wheel barrow. read more

The same owners used to own the Kings Buffet and it had multiple health inspection failures so who knows whats going on in the kitchen. This is by far the very worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been in during my many years on this planet. It is not clean, the Sushi was dreadful and all the food with the exception of the thin white noodle was utterly tasteless. On top of that the Chinese tea arrived with a thick froth on the top which never went away. It was horrible tea and it looked and tasted like it had dish washing liquid in it. I did not know Chinese food could taste this bad. Wish you had minus stars so I could have given it minus 5. Absolutely terrible service! My best friend and i went there last week and we were disgusted with their food and the rude customer service from the lady in the front desk. We arrived at about 6pm on friday evening and the snow crabs were gone, they never did a refill until we asked them to. All the food was old. They took forever to bring out the new and fresh food. And the whole time we were eating the lady at the front desk kept starring at us and it was very uncomfortable. There was not much selection, and the waiter not once came back to see whether we wanted a refill with our drinks. I know this isnt big city china buffet, so i dont mind having less variety in food, but the service was very unwelcoming. Now I see why they have many bad reviews. read more
