    68. Chicken Chow Fun 103. Beef with String Beans 1. Vegetable Egg Roll
    Adina S.

My grandma and I ordered from here on Christmas Day. The delivery was easy and relatively quick! They also provided plenty of sauce packets on the side. Our favorite dish was the chicken chow fun. The noodles had just the right chewy texture and there was plenty of chicken. The beef and string beans was also delicious, although pretty salty and oily. I still counted it as my vegetables for the day! I was glad it came with plenty of rice on the side, as that helped to diffuse some of the grease. Of course, the egg rolls were also tasty, but once again pretty decadent. This place hits the spot, but don't expect anything authentic. It's definitely American-style Chinese and most of the dishes are quite heavy. Still, it hit the spot and satisfied our cravings!

Basic Chinese takeout restaurant. It's smaller than most; I don't think there was any seating in here. The food's good enough. It doesn't really stand out, but it's fine. Quick too. They have an 'A' health rating. Those As are becoming less common these days.

STAY AWAY!!! I ordered a food from this place today, 07/25/21. Food taste good and I was happy eating until I bit a piece of stone. I bit so hard that it broke in pieces. I went back there and they gave my money back. They said they find these stones in the rice sometimes. I hope my teeth don't hurt later. First and last time. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The food was ok. The cashew chicken was good, but the general tso's was lacking. Would've like a little more flavor.

Your typical neighborhood take out spot that delivers. When you need good chicken and broccoli this one is my favorite for the area.

I ordered the cured pork with garlic shoots and dry fried green beans. The cured pork was quite salty, and paired well with the buttery, tender leeks it was cooked with. The dish was not overly oily, and was pleasant over white rice. I enjoyed the chewiness of the pork which allowed you to experience the complex flavor. The green beans were well fried, with characteristic texture signature to this dish. The seasoning was very well balanced and not overpowering to the natural sweetness of the green beans. I would recommend either dish. They were both slightly toned down iterations when compared to the times I've eaten these dishes at other Sichuan restaurants in flushing, but still well seasoned and well cooked. The service was very warm and friendly, and many other customers seemed to be returning regulars.

We went a second time because our first experience was so good that we wanted to try their other dishes, and now after the second time, we can't wait to return for a third. We definitely need to return with a bigger group the next time we go so that we can try more of their dishes! Our second time there, we had the "Night Market Chow Fun" and the "Chongqing Braised Beef." Both were excellent! Probably my favorite Chow fun now and the Chongqing braised beef was so tender and had all the szechuan tingly spices that open up your taste buds and sensories. We LOVED both dishes. It had the 3 chili pepper sign and the server warned us that it was very spicy, and IT WAS -- in all the good ways. May not be for the faint, though, so be careful. Not sure if they can adjust the spiciness. We enjoy their "film set" ambiance, giving it a cooler dining experience than your normal authentic casual space -- adds some flare for a date night or for friends. MUST RETURN FOR MORE!

The ambiance and decor are beautiful, definitely a great date-night spot or somewhere to go with friends. They were understaffed when we visited so service was a little slow. We ordered the century egg claypot (6/10), lucky coin tofu (9/10) and brown rice (which you have to order separately, a little annoying). The claypot was unique but not super flavorful, although my hubs loved the texture of the egg. The portion was HUGE so we'll have leftovers for days! The lucky coin tofu was the standout. It was tangy, spicy and packed with flavor. I'm glad we tried Red Sorghum but I'm not sure it'll become a regular spot for me.

The restaurant is a few blocks from the main street of Steinway so it'll take a bit of searching. Going inside, the area is rather abstract. Service was lukewarm, I got my order in but the two workers inside weren't too receptive and the menu itself is kinda barebones with most of their food being a bit more than I would like to pay for so I just settled on one order of Singapore Mei Fun. After waiting 10 minutes for my food to arrive, the Singapore noodles which are usually spicy were kinda salty but it was nothing a bit of duck sauce wouldn't fix. This one order cost $17 while not the worst Singapore Mei Fun...well technically it is, even though it's not horrible but I've had much better from other places for a stable price of $12. I got the wonton soup and pork juicy buns. The soup was different from other wonton soups with the addition of cilantro and some nice balancing flavors for the salt, and the juicy buns were your classic soup dumplings with a very nice rich sauce to dip in. The dandan noodles my friend ordered were maybe my favorite, they were the perfect level of spicy and so flavorful without being overwhelming. I'd go back just for my own plate of those. The service was quite fast, and it's a cute little shop that feels like a small town Chinese restaurant. Very reasonably priced as well.
