I ordered the lunch special ( it was to go but I like to see and sample the food first). Thank goodness I did..the soup was oily and chewey and not edible. I gave it back to her with my concerns but she said nothing. The fried rice looked like it had been recooked a few times ..gross! The chicken dish had a few pieces of meat with what looked like expired vegetables! I saw past reviews and should have known better. Never again! This was a lovely place to stop on our way to Lake Shasta. We picked Wong's because they had the best sounding vegetarian options in the area, and we were glad we did! The restaurant had a calming ambience and lots of cool artwork on the walls. Their lunch special and lunch combos are both a great deal, so you definitely get some bang for your buck! My partner got the kung pao chicken combo, and I got a happy family tofu with veggie fried rice. The happy family tofu was absolutely delicious, and I loved the way the fried bean curd soaked up the sauce. There were plenty of veggies in the dish like baby corn, snap peas, and bamboo shoots. Our server was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed getting to chat with her. She was very helpful and attentive. Stop by Wong's the next time you're in Willows! read more

Wongs is an older place and it shows, but they keep it super clean and that is all I care about. It is pretty comfortable and never seems to be busy. They do a lot of delivery and take away. We enjoyed eating there in peace and quiet. The service is pretty good, a tad slow and seemingly confused, but they got our order right and it was very good and we would go again. There is not a lot on this street, it is mostly for overnight travelers it seems. We enjoyed all our food. The BBQ pork and beef was super good and we will have that again. The shrimp with cashews was excellent. The give you plenty of cashews. We had a chicken fried rice that was very good and fresh. We also loved their hot and sour soup and their eggrolls. Food: the food was great. Down the street there is another restaurant that does give you a little bit more but the food overall at Wong's is good as well. we got broccoli, beef, chow mein, fried rice, and some wonton soup and they were all delicious. The only thing I regret was only getting one takeout box of broccoli beef we should've gotten to since we were feeding a lot of people at the track at thunderhill. I like that the broccoli wasn't too soft. It still had a little bit of crunch to it and I like how the wonton soup was very airy and hearty all at the same time. After a day full of driving, fun and much excitement we raced back before closing to grab dinner from Wongs. We were a retail store family so our holiday meals were just about solely Chinese as we didn't have to cook. I have a definite love for the cuisine and will try it anytime 7 days a week. Wong's was awesome. The staff knew my daughter and her boyfriend and gave them great service, but as I watched she was awesome with everyone. It's a quaint little spot but would have been just as fun to eat in, very hospitable. The food was on point, the portions large and not greasy at all. There was hardly any meat at all it had a good flavor but the meat was really disappointing

Tried this place since it's close to my job, the staff is nice but the food is lacking, the rice has a weird taste so I didn't eat it all, the chow main is bland, the sweet and sour pork was good but it was mostly full of green peppers, onions and pineapple. I prefer that it comes without it. I won't come here again, I was told there is another place to try so I'll go three next time. read more

Our go to place for family gatherings...usually nine people easily seated and served promptly (we always order ala carte.) Relaxing surroundings, friendly owner and servers. I CANT BELIVE THIS GROSS first got my plate and it was so i could serve my self food and it had dried dirty food on it that should have been my first sign to run. This place is gross full roaches my chicken wasn't even fully cooked!!! for $50 this was not worth it and to wrap it up they made me give a tip... Best dinner around. Here are some of the items not included in a combination dinner. Think outside of the "box ". If only they delivered. Sigh Crispy Beef with Chili Sauce is more sweet and not very hot but they supply more hot oil on the table or you can take some home. $9.25 Pot Stickers are fabulous. They're made with homemade pasta wrappers Filled with a yummy meat feeling and third with the homemade sweet ginger garlic sauce. You won't find this in any grocery store! Six in a serving. $5.95 Chicken Salad was over dressed with the sweet and vinegar dressing. Not to my liking. $6.95 Chow Fun is great with wide noodles and any meat you could want. $8.25-9.25 General Tao's Chicken is a dish with large cuts of chicken in a sweet spicy sauce surrounded by broccoli. Always a favorite, I even eat this cold. $9.25 Walnut Prawns or Chicken with Mayonnaise sauce just isn't for me. $9.25-$11.25 Hong Kong Chow Mein Is the opposite of what we might think chow mein is. The noodles are crispy wok fried and served on top of the vegetables, meat and sauce. As you eat, the noodles change from crispy to regular but always have that fried flavor. $8.25-$9.25 Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork is always yummy and is one of my favorites. It's pretty typical of any Chinese restaurant and if you get it in a container, not in the combo dinner, I always ask for onions peppers and pineapple. Otherwise you will just receive the meat and sauce. $7.95-$9.75 Spareribs with Spicy Salt are tiny bone-in ribs served with wok fried jalapeños, onions and airy rice noodles. I eat them like a regular rib with each bite topped with a jalapeño onions and noodles! $8.95 Moo Sho any meat is mostly cabbage and served with the standard pancakes and hoisin sauce. More meat would go a long way. $7.25-$9.25 Fried Prawns are crazy crispy and dip in any sauce or just great with soy sauce. There are six butterflied prawns in each serving. $7.25 BBQ Spareribs were disappointing, Only two of them were edible and the other two were dry and burned. When I called and complained I was told, " Well that's the way they are Because of how they are cooked, just don't order them again." $8.95 Foil Wrapped Chicken are like little triangle presents. When unwrapped, the braised dark meat chicken pieces in smoky sauce are revealed. The meat is so tender and there are eight wraps per serving. $6.95 read more

Stopping over night on the way up north, Willows was the right distance to drive. With just a couple choices in town, we went with the higher rated choice. We were NOT disappointed! we ordered spicy eggplant, spicy Vegetables, beef and green peppers, Mongolian beef and bbq pork noodles (we are a large group). The only dish that was so-so was the flat noodle bbq pork. Everything else was really good. The service was good. The place was clean. I came in and told them my food was cooked oddly and tasted not right but refused to remove that item from my order and also gave me a attitude about it. And then the bill we couldn't tell the writing well. so we put 45 plus the change and walked out. The waitress came running and said the 45 was a 49 so we went to give her her change and another guy came out and cussed at us saying we shorted her on purpose and intimidated us into giving her over 8 dollars for a tip! In this city of Willows, CA, just about over an hour away up North from Sacramento, there isn't much food options to choose from. This area is surrounded by fast food chains. Wong's is a great choice for a non-fast food restaurant and is surprisingly authentic enough to be considered pretty good and decent! When you're pretty much in the middle of nowhere and are craving for something authentic and not fast food, go to Wong's! It's hard to even believe that you can get good authentic Chinese food in this really small town! I was pleasantly surprised that mine and my BF's lunch plates were pretty tasty and filling. So disappointing. We went here due to convenient location to our motel but unfortunately the only thing positive i can say is the food was hot. The service staff wasn't friendly at all. The family meal we got had a lot of food but contained very little chicken and beef and lacked flavor. This restaurant looked promising based on reviews. As listed in the reviews, the plates of food are large. The service is basic, average. No follow-up to see if the meal was OK. I had to point out the real disappointment. An Asian Roach came with the dinner plate, jumped off and started crawling around the table. I called over the waitress, who killed it and did not say anything. I was charged for dinner anyway, including an odd service charge on the receipt. I will not visit the restaurant again, and cannot recommend it unless you want Roach protein with your meal. read more

Staying in a hotel nearby and decided to try the local cuisine rather than the large amount of fast food nearby. Gave their chef's special of crunchy beef a try and it was excellent. Broccoli lined the plate with a large helping of seasoned beef. The service was excellent and friendly. I will definitely return on my next adventure through Willows. read more
