This is my favorite spot for sushi, Thai, Chinese.... they have a little bit of everything and are always reliable. We get takeout here all the time and the prices are pretty good! I love the snow mountain and spider rolls, which I usually get when their two roll special thing is going on. You'll have to look into it! Ordered online for pickup on the way home from work. Hubby has been looking forward to sushi for weeks. Arrive at the restaurant to pick up our order and was told they don't have sushi today do we want something else. When I asked why nobody called us to let us know ahead of time, the girl behind the counter just shrugged. Great customer service. So I had to sit there while the rest of our food got cold waiting for the kitchen to make something else. Get home to eat and everything is cold. This is not a cheap place to eat. If I wanted crappy Chinese food I could have gotten the same thing elsewhere for way less. I suspect that's why they won't call to tell you they aren't serving sushi so you won't cancel your whole order and go somewhere else. Will not eat here again. read more

I was told by co-workers, customers, even my friends that "Asian Garden was great. The staff was friendly and the food was awesome. You need to try the sushi!" When I got there, the place looked good, I had high hopes. The staff was very friendly, many people came up to talk to me. There was, however, one woman with a thick accent, that was rude. I was informed that the Sushi Chef was off today and they only had one, so I was disappointed for that. However, I understood. Then they told me that they no longer carry Miso soup, errg. The main girl that waited on me was very helpful in explaining everything. I got some edamame. It came out pretty fast. There was no sea salt on them or any seasoning. The thick accent lady wanted to take my meal order, and she would explain everything fast and wouldn't repeat them. When I misunderstood her, she got angry. So I got something I am familiar with, Szechuan Chicken. It came out before I could eat half of the edamame. Less than 5 minutes. It came with fried rice. The rice was just yellow rice, not fried. It was dry and COLD. Not warm, but cold. The chicken was your typical Asian chicken (thinly sliced pieces). It came with 1 baby corn, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, chest nuts, and some other vegetable. The sauce had a familiar flavor to it. It took me a while, until I realize it was just Ketchup. I couldn't finish it. The sauce was nasty and chicken even felt slimy. The staff made sure that I had a full glass of Coke, and they brought the bill promptly. The reasons I didn't give this place 1 star is: decor, haven't tried sushi, and all the people that like it, can't be wrong, right? read more

Oh, man, I go here so often -- it's my Monday night ritual lately: run in, order a Hunan or Szechuan Chicken combo (usually, but once in a while I'll feel the urge for something else, like the Mango Chicken or, as was recommended to me recently, the Pad Thai), then quickly grab some groceries for the week from the Harris Teeter while they're cooking my meal. The combos are a good size. I really should start eating half and saving the other half for later (*pats belly*). The food is really good and it takes only a minute to get there from my house -- even less once they finish connecting the back of the parking lot with the end of my road (work finally started back up again on this fairly recently). I wanted to check out Asian Garden as it's difficult to find Adrian fusion restaurants (IMHO) in the triangle. The atmosphere, portions, and price were pretty great, but I was thrown that they apparently don't have Sushi on Monday. Period. I couldn't find that information online and honestly would have tried somewhere else if I had known that. Im guessing I'll go back later into another week and see if their sushi is decent or not, but not holding my breath. Definitely an acceptable dinner, but I wouldn't go out of your way to try it out. read more

I've been frequenting this restaurant for years and have noticed a decline in customer service. Today will be my last time patronizing. I ordered black pepper chicken and specifically told the cashier to make sure my food had enough sauce on it because it has been dry in the past. When I got my food, it barely had any sauce on it. When I showed it to her, she proceeded to tell me, no it does. Then she had audacity to put her hand over my tray as she leaned it over to allow the little bit of sauce to pool in one corner. I told her I didn't want it after she touched my food. She then says I can charge you for a container of sauce. I tell her that I don't need all that sauce just the amount you give for dine in orders and I'm not going to eat it after you touched it. (She was sitting in dining room eating her food right before.) She continues on until I just tell her to please cancel my order. Customer service is key! 1st- if she had an issue with giving me the amount of sauce as with dine in orders, tell me up front. If it was going to be an extra charge, tell me up front. Then, don't put your hands all over customer's food, especially before you wash your hands. Health code violation. read more

I rate chinese food on how well they do kung pao chicken. Theirs is ok (about a 3). The chicken is actually breaded, which isn't something I prefer, but the flavor is ok. Pepper steak is good. I absolutely LOVEEEEEE this place. I have tried many sushi restaurants and the quiet undiscovered ones are always the best. We have been here many times and this place quickly became my wife's and I favorite place for sushi. They have very reasonable prices and right now are offering a get a regular roll free with the purchase of special roll!! I get a 6$ special roll and and free Spicy Salmon Roll!! YOU CANT BEAT THAT!!! The staff is very nice and polite, once the forgot to charge me for a drink, and just told me it was on the house. They interact-acted with my (at the time) 12 month old daughter and would make her giggle and laugh to the point that my daughter wanted to be held by the gentleman working there!!!!!!!! When we tried to take her back she said NUH-UH! This place is great. The only complaint is some staff do have a thick accent, but never has this place disappointed us. Web page has been down for months. This makes ordering very difficult since the best way to order is by number. I have called and their english is so bad they cannot understand what I am saying. And of course, if you cannot understand your customer (or maybe they do) the best course of action is to hang up on their customer. I absolutely love the concept of this restaurant. It appears to be takeout Chinese, but you go in and you also have the option to sit and eat. Not only do they serve Chinese food, they have Thai, and SUSHI!!! Ok, so I'm not going to lie. I was skeptical. This place can't possibly have good sushi. I thought it'd gave grocery store quality sushi. I gladly admit I was wrong! It's no fancy restaurant, but I would totally go back for sushi, it was great! And my husband got the pad Thai. It was to die for! I'd even die twice for that pad Thai, maybe 3 times. The spring rolls were great, and the wonton soup?! Oh man, I'm drooling just writing this review. Our family and friends also enjoy going to Asian Garden when they are in the area visiting. Service can be slow but carry out is ready when promised. The biggest disappointment is their salad as it's soggy and the ginger dressing is blah. But the excellent Egg Drop Soup makes up for the salads shortcoming. read more

I'll start off by saying the only real reason this place gets 4 stars is because I'm a snob about excellent customer service, and they've had some rough bouts of lazy employees (amidst all the good ones, mind you). As far as cuisine, I've only had their sushi, save sampling a friend's plate here or there but everything I've tried has been quite tasty. The sushi is also very artfully presented, even with the use of LED lights which I find particularly cool. Their prices are also fair in regards to what they offer. The setting a lot of people get a take-out feel, and that is true, but I don't think it should deter from the rating. The place is clean and as someone previously described, utilitarian--which I feel is just fine. Certainly it is not comparable in decor to some other fine Asian dining in the area but it doesn't need to be. I'm not rating it on how pretty the wall hangings look. The biggest problem as I already mentioned is there's been a handful of slow or negligent servers. If this place were crammed and busy every time I went and the service was a little slow because of it, I would be OK with that. But it's not. There simply is no call for it other than they do not want to work. It isn't anything major. It's not like they spit on my food. But I've waited way too long for service in there before. And it isn't the entire team, just a handful, but those few slackers can stick out in your mind. I do hope this business does manage to get solid on its feet--I like it enough to want it to prosper--and the rest of the employees are friendly and always happy to see me. tl;dr: Good food, fair prices, but sometimes some slow or sub-par service mixed in with otherwise very friendly people. read more

Excellent. We ordered take-out so cannot comment on service, but food was obviously fresh, good quality, and tasty. I had to drive 20 mins home but the food was still hot on arrival. This is our closest Chinese restaurant so we deal with it. My husband likes there Pasi Oou noodles and I usually get the sushi. It's okay not what I'm used to but okay. We got the general tso's combo (chicken was hard as a rock), chicken lo mein combo (very little taste at all) and both came with pork fried rice. The pork in the rice (all 5 pieces of it) was burnt. The hot and sour soup had a weird taste and it had mushrooms in it. I've never seen that before. The egg rolls had very little meat and a lot of wrapping. Used to love this place. Haven't been back since it changed owners but had a few moments to kill waiting for haircut and went in for a quick sushi roll. Waitstaff not very knowledgable on their products and allergies. Not all ingredients listed on menu so got a roll after asking to ensure no tempura flakes, tempura, or fried roll that had a tempura shrimp in it. Luckily my wife in not allergic to gluten so will give to her, but not a good showing in my opinion. read more
