This is our closest Chinese restaurant so we deal with it. My husband likes there Pasi Oou noodles and I usually get the sushi. It's okay not what I'm used to but okay. I really wish they would add delivery and have staff that understand what you would like to order. The young girl is pretty good about taking orders but everyone can drive you crazy. We decided to try this place for the first time with much regret. We got the general tso's combo (chicken was hard as a rock), chicken lo mein combo (very little taste at all) and both came with pork fried rice. The pork in the rice (all 5 pieces of it) was burnt. The hot and sour soup had a weird taste and it had mushrooms in it. I've never seen that before. The egg rolls had very little meat and a lot of wrapping. Ordered Chicken Lo Mein take out on my lunch break from work. And got one for my hubby for his dinner. The chicken was absolutely rubbery. The Lo Mein had no flavor. We love this place! We get take out here all the time. The portions are more than generous, the sushi is delicious (try the out of control roll), and the staff is friendly. I would give five stars all the way if not for the 12 year old-ish little girl who is ever present and ever obnoxious. (The owner's daughter perhaps?) We go here fairly often. The food tends to be pretty good and they offer brown rice, which I much prefer. We ordered take out tonight. I ordered sushi/sashimi combo. Got... something else. I called them, and after some discussion, figuring out what went wrong, they asked me to come back and they would fix it. They more than made up for it. Had to share my order, there was so much. They were very nice about it and apologized a lot. I appreciate that. It won't keep us from returning. It's still my favorite place for sushi and Chinese food. read more

I just picked up my first take out from Asian Garden because I did not feel like running across town to go to our usual Chinese restaurant for take out. What a pleasant surprise. The order was 100% correct, the person answering the phone was polite and informed me of specials that they had. As far as the food is concerned.. a real A+! I am a Hot and Sour Soup and Sushi specialist... and both ROCKED! This is a perfect establishment for this side of Wake Forest.. great location, fast take out and food that is high quality. Let me first start by saying the food is very good with a few small exceptions. MY issue with this place is not the food it is two main things. 1. The wait staff. The head lady their whom i do not know her name is not very friendly and is kinda rude. While this just may be a culture thing, it really doesn't matter since she is in the US serving Americans. She is just very abrupt and not very attentive. 2. The second issue i have is that they do not have any kids meals at all. Kids pay full price, which is a problem for me since i have 3 kids. I have been going to The Asian Garden since they opened and in the begining we had some mishaps they have come a long way. I eat there at least 3 times a month and my wife and I love the food. We order take out from here a few times a month. The food is always great and everything we have tried is fantastic. General Tso's chicken, Pad Thai, Curry Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Lobster Rangoons, egg and spring rolls, etc. It's all fantastic and the portions are huge. read more

Zero Stars! Do not eat at this restaurant! As I was waiting for my carry out order, I noticed one of the staff licking her fingers after she ate something in the sushi prep area. Shortly after that, I saw the sushi chef come into the restaurant carrying a Harris Teeter grocery bag. Without washing his hands, he took a mango out of the bag and cut it, then prepared my order with no gloves on! The thought that he handled money to pay for the mango and then touched door handles right in the middle of flu season totally grossed me out!! The staff gave me a very difficult time when I explained why I no longer wanted my order, and asked for my money back. I will never eat at Asian Garden in Wake Forest again! read more

Rude staff!! Too many other great sushi/asian places in wake forest to put up with the crappy service. We've been multiple times and it just gets worse. We're done. Tonight was the worst yet. Our waitress was angry at the world tonight and she let it show. Slammed our soy sauce bottle on the table, asked for our order and then stormed off because we weren't ready. Didn't even take our drink order. Not once asked us if we needed anything or asked if everything was ok. Not once. We were almost finished eating when we had the pleasure of another slam on our table which was our bill and fortune cookies. For the last 5 min while we were trying to finish and get the hell out of there, our lovely waitress stood against the sushi bar, arms crossed, staring at us to hurry up and leave we assume. Never came and took our plates or asked if everything was ok. She never said hello or goodbye during the entire visit. No thank you, nothing. Ran our credit card and walked away while we were still standing at check out. For the first time in over a decade I tipped NOTHING and feel good about it. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for her but we will never go back. A shame because the food is really good. read more

Food is good but customer service is lacking. They are always short on the phone. I ordered a lunch entree for take out with no rice extra vegetables.Their 'fried rice' is not fried, it's just yellow and not good at all. I told the lady twice over the phone, no rice extra vegetables. I pay for my order and when they bring it to me, there were no extra vegetables. I question why there are no extra veggies. They explain they can't do that and if I want extra veggies I have to order the dinner portion which is twice as much and, wait for it, still comes with rice, which I don't want. They should have told me when I placed the order they couldn't accommodate or they could have charged a small upcharge which I would have happily paid in order to get what I ordered. I asked the manager if losing a customer was worth a few extra veggies. Then to top it all off, when I take the last bite of the chicken I find a piece of metal wire. I called the store and explained what I found. Managers response was "ok". Won't be going back. read more
