Walked in the lobby on a Saturday afternoon and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by a wonderfully helpful gentleman. Since this was our first time visiting he explained the restaurants and how to order from the kiosks. It was crowded but he took time and assisted each patron individually. Order from 2 restaurants and unfortunately the food was subpar. The cheesesteak eggrolls were small but tasty. The jerk wings were made with a store bought sauce and lacked flavor. The fried fish meal was so salty we couldn't even enjoy it. The fish tasted as if the either the grease was burned or the fish was left in too long. The Cajun pasta was pictured with sausage but did not contain sausage. We added chicken which was EXTREMELY dry, like it was days old or over cooked. The cabbage was salty and the greens beans were riddled with sugar. This is a great concept. Just didn't live up to the hype. read more

We went, thinking it was your typical food hall. But, I completely read over the "virtual" part of virtual food hall. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, and the gentleman explained the process & showed us where we can sit. You place your order on one of the kiosks. You can order from multiple places. The lady and gentleman were extremely helpful and patient with us and our questions. Let me tell you, there is plenty of food to choose from. The only meat I eat is turkey and seafood, so there's usually not a lot that I can order when I go places. But, there are so many turkey options. I was in heaven! I ordered the turkey bbq plate with greens (with turkey) and potato salad from Wings & Turkey BBQ. It came with a roll and some coleslaw, as well. It was very good. I demolished everything (except the potato salad. The flavor was great, but I think there were onions in it. So, it was just a texture preference.) My mom ordered a burger from Dave's Burgers. She said it was delicious. The rest of the family ordered different types of wings. They were all very satisfied with their food. Before we left, we ordered the banana pudding from Humble Catering. Best dang lambchops I have had! Tender charred yummy deliciousness! Easy to order virtual food hall for take out only as there is no place to sit. You can order ahead while in route or on site. The food is served hot. Everything I have had from here was excellent. (The stuffed turkey leg with mac n cheese yams and collards was fire!!!) I was quite impressed with the lamb chops. Ummm hmmmm. We stopped in this spot because I was looking for wings and Turkey BBQ. Apparently wings and Turkey BBQ relocated to this spot. At first it was a bit confusing because I didn't see any signage outside. However, once inside the cashier explains the process. The building houses a few restaurants and you order from the kiosk based on the restaurant you want which i thought was cool. They had about 7 different restaurant options. I ordered my Turkey BBQ and fries that came with a sweet tea. The staff from wings and turkey BBQ was present and she was very friendly and helpful since I had trouble using their self checkout cashier. My food was delicious just as I remembered. I will definitely return to check out some of the restaurant options. read more

Very strange experience.... You walk in and are greeted with a computer to order your food from more than 30 different restaurants in the back that you have no access to. Lacking any connection and you just sit around waiting for your name to be called to take your food to go. I was surprised to see so many people coming and going. It took a long time to get the food and then it was just a greasy spoon quality. We will NOT be back. Lacking any ambience or personality. read more

The Flavor District is a virtual food hall (ghost kitchen) and I just recently found out where it was because our go-to Mac House moved there. Ordering from online delivery apps, I was curious about so many restaurants and their locations but now it makes sense...they all come from here. Now, in retrospect, this is a better way to make more money as a restaurant without all of the extra costs. These ghost kitchens do take away that communal feeling of visiting and interacting with others but it does help keep businesses running due to lower costs. Quality of Mac House did go down since joining The Flavor District. Yes, the food is still good but it's not great. When I ordered the bbq pork mac, there wasn't any cornbread on top which was a huge bummer. There are pros and cons to these ghost kitchens but clearly, a con is that chefs are making food for many businesses. I wish Mac House was standalone but I do understand that times are tough and that's not really an option right now. As for ambiance, this is a quick way to make money without serving the community and interacting with them. There are no tables or chairs so don't plan to eat in. The staff at the counter who check you out are very friendly and nice. However, the entirety of the building feels off. I don't know, I'm very indifferent about ghost kitchens, Covid definitely ruined the food industry and now I'm bitter about our go-to spot. read more

The food was excellent, and the service was exceptional! Ambiance was nice, too, considering they only have 4 or 5 tables for seating. Luckily we were there early enough to snag two tables to put together for my friends and I to enjoy my birthday lunch. We were disappointed to learn that they only serve the stuffed turkey legs on Thursday-Sunday. That's okay though, it just gives us an excuse to come back! Their mac 'n cheese and yams were the absolute best that have ever crossed my lips! Can't wait to go back! Wish they had one of these restaurants in Durham! This is the first time visiting The Flavor District. The Cuban restaurant we had visited recommended this when we asked about Pastelitos. They have a cool concept. They are similar to surrounding other food halls but they have one counter where you order take out from a variety of vendors and can pick up or have the food delivered. This is a virtual food hall. They have an interesting selection of food choices and I really liked this concept. My friend and I each ordered a cupcake to go and they placed the wrong cupcake in her order. She was okay with that but next time we will check. read more

Today is $1 Wing Wednesday and we decided we would see what all the hype was about with the Crumbstruction within the Flavor District. We saw the link on Facebook to order our meal for pick-up. It was pretty simple, you choose from what was available, decided what time you wanted to pick it up, put in the car information for curbside. Easy Pesy... We ordered 12 unbreaded Lemon Pepper 12 unbreaded Buffalo 12 unbreaded Honey BBQ Kid's 3 piece Teriyaki with Sweet Potato fries Total with Tax - $45.45 Flavor District is the old Golden Corral location in Wake Forest, so it's simple to find and parking is good. We called the number provided for pick-up and the order was brought out promptly. Now, for the food. The hype is proper! Let me say it again, the hype is proper! The wings were a good size, the dressing was dressing, the flavors were good. I don't eat lemon pepper, but I was told it was a little salty for their taste. We ordered sweet potato fries but were given regular. We weren't about to drive back over that - but next time I will make sure to check before leaving the location. We really enjoyed the way the wings were prepared (without breading) and they made sure you had plenty of sauce, no naked wings over here! Spanish food kitchen cooked by Cesar. Authentic Spanish food. Cesar is from Spain and his seafood paella was the best. When I go to Spain, I always look for the best paella. Now it's in my backyard. We told him yesterday to just cook "whatever" for 4 people. Croquettes were the best I ever had and the egg/potato tortilla was beyond! He also made garlic shrimp. VERY reasonably priced. I now need to make this a routine dinner for our family. Doesn't get any better or authentic than this! Mouth watering! read more

I've never been to a virtual food hall before. I actually didn't know these existed. But this is what this establishment is. A virtual food hall is where there's a bunch of chefs available in the back to make food, but it rotates. This is not a place where you sit down and eat, it is where you get takeout or get something to delivered. I did not eat here because we were just checking out the place but it looked like they were great options and I would like to try it. This is a new establishment but I would recommend that they work on the decor because there were a lot of fake plants and not a love put into the environment. read more

Disappointed. First time ordering and they're new so I will forgive the inadequate delivery system they have. The front counter looked frazzled. Clearly they need a better system to find orders that are coming in from the kitchens. Alphabetized shelves will do wonders! I'm giving them three stars because: 1) The front counter people were nice 2) Ordering was easy 3) The burgers were cooked and satisfied my husband and son I knocked them down for the following reasons: 1) A chicken sandwich was missing. Confusingly, the onion rings that came with it were included. I checked the receipt and I paid for it. I will take part of the blame for this, as I should have checked the order before I left. However, it's the kitchen's responsibility to make sure that the order is complete before sending it out, IMHO. 2) my item wasn't included bc the kitchen it came from ran out of ingredients. 3) the "seasoned fries" weren't seasoned, according to my husband. They were bland and soggy 4) the burgers were not delicious; my husband and son were just really hungry. 5) as mentioned before, the front counter is unorganized. I only saw one person in charge of checking the orders and one other person finding orders for the people that were waiting. I'd be willing to give this business one more chance bc it's a novel idea. I hope it gets better organization and quality control SOON. read more

Ordered food for myself and my sons family. Had high hopes but once we opened the containers, those hopes were dashed. All if the fried items were overcooked by a considerable margin. The worst were the fried oysters which were over breaded and cooked beyond tasting like seafood. The fried shrimp was edible but only barely. Fried chicken and chicken nuggets suffered the same fate. Only bright spots were the beans and rice and the sweet potato cornbread. When I asked about tarter sauce and seafood sauce, I was told they were in the bag, but as it turned out, neither was included. Ambiance? Just a counter and someone to had you the bag containing the food. read more

We ordered from Typhoon Bistro. I ordered cellophane noodles with chicken. The chicken was over cooked and hard to chew and tasteless. Every single piece! I picked out all the chicken. There weren't enough veggies to make it a veggie dish, but the noodles were tasty. Disappointing for $15 + tax! Update: after informing the staff at Flavor District, they refunded the price of my meal. They had heard similar complaints. Way to go Flavor District! read more

As a new business they still have some issues to work out - You can only order from the app- The app needs to be updated quicker- if the Restaurant is open and the app isn't updated you cant order.
