The restaurant was roomy and seemed clean, we ate in. Several people came for to go orders and they appeared to be local. Our food came out in a fair amount of time. I ordered General Tso, he ordered Curry chicken. They were standard fair with the exception of my General Tso, which was actually sweet and sour chicken, I did not let him know his mistake, he was busy enough and I wanted to eat and get back on the road. Stopped rolling through in a snow storm... a little hole in the wall with some Great food. Staff was personable and was very flexible when I asked for egg fu young which wasn't on the menu. I have been eating egg fu young coast to coast for twenty years and it's one of my favorites... my wife ordered the pepper steak, we both agreed the food taste and quality was was excellent, I don't get all the bad reviews here. The egg fu young has shrimps, big hunks of pork and chicken with a good selection of veg, the brown gravy was super tasty and a nice consistency. The restaurant seems to have been here quite a while and was a bit grimy and could use a good scrub but overall we had a relaxing pitstop and would gladly stop here again... 5 stars on the food. read more

This business is a 9 minute drive from my house and took 2 HOURS to get here. Was in touch with the restaurant at the one hour mark just checking on our order and the lady said "he'll be there soon". No window of time was given but "soon" turned into 45 more minutes. When the driver finally got here it took me a second to get up after he knocked but he wiggled the door knob. Why?? Everything was cold when it arrived but decided to warm some up due to hunger and everything was bland, no flavor at all. Called the restaurant asking for a refund due to the quality of the food and the 2 hour wait. The owner apologized for the driver being pulled over for running a stop sign between deliveries and instead of a refund, he wanted to send the driver back and pick up the food and make us wait for another delivery. Awful service and awful food, will never order from here again. Couldn't save much of the food as leftovers, not worth eating again at all. Also what is this teriyaki stick? It's skinnier than a pencil and not seasoned. Only dish that was sort of seasoned was an order of chicken and broccoli which is typically in a sweet, light sauce. The 6 shrimps (firm and cleaned) with fresh vegetables (broccoli, snow peas, green peppers, onions) in a light sweet (not too thick) sauce was a modest lunch portion, though the dish could've had more flavor and more sauce. The brown rice was cooked firm, just right. The hot & sour soup (egg, tofu, celery, carrots, fungi, mushroom) was not too spicy, Overall, this food I had was simple and fresh, and pretty decent. THE BEST!!! It always amazing to me how the best restaurants around sometimes don't have much written on yelp. In many cases it's because they don't need that and businesses like these are so beloved by their communities that yelp isn't a factor. It appears to me after having dined here and knowing many people that do, that maybe a couple of kids passing through left what seems to be reviews of some other place which is nothing like the place I just had the best meal of my life at. I say that because this restaurant was immaculate.It was one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been to anywhere. I don't normally leave restaurant reviews because I've been to so many restaurants in so many places and usually its just ok, with nothing to rave about BUT Asian gourmet restaurant in Brattleboro Vermont is the type of establishment that inspires you to take time out of your day or night , to make sure you honor them and their superbly delicious Asian cuisine. It's also the type of place that's so good, it would be wrong to keep it all to yourself. Therefore , I am here to make sure that I let everyone know that if you're like me and you love authentic high quality 5 star Asian food, this is THE place to go. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant in my entire life , that offers both Chinese and Japanese food, where the chef is a master at both, but that WAS the case tonight at Asian Gourmet. I'm so glad I stopped there. I'm going to be there a lot and I'm going to bring my children too, as soon as I can. I know they're going to love it. The owner and his wife are absolutely wonderful human beings. I watched them welcome each customer with so much warmth. You can tell that the People around here trust and love them and it's so easy to see why. The food was mind blowing and delectable. Each sushi roll and entree that comes to the table is truly a work of art. The owner is a gifted artist in the way that he prepares and puts his whole heart into his food. I literally took photos of my sushi because I couldn't get over how beautiful the presentation was on each dish. I've never done that in my life. I am now in the lot where I parked my car for dinner. After I ate at Asian Gourmet, I simply could not leave here without making sure to review them. This place is way too good to miss. On top of everything, the female manager was an absolutely wonderful breath of fresh air and was part of what made it all such an unforgettable experience. This restaurant is the best of the best! Typically, I would give them two stars because the food preparation is pretty uneven. Sometimes it's pretty good, but seven times out of ten, it's edible, but meh. The sushi rice is undercooked, the seasonings in the Chinese food is uneven, sometimes the avocados used in the rolls are not ripe, and sometimes the request for handrolls is ignored. However, it's close by and relatively inexpensive and the delivery guys are really nice. So in a pinch when I don't feel like cooking, I order from them. BUT NO MORE. Last night I received the wrong order. When I called, the woman who answered the phone realized she had switched the orders said, "If my boss finds out I screwed up I'm going to get in trouble." No, I'm sorry or asking if I want the original order. I told her I really would like my order because I don't eat meat and what should I do with this one? "You can eat it or throw it out," she said. So I asked for my original order and I was told I'd get it when there was another order going in the direction of my neighborhood. Again no apology or offer for the inconvenience. It was more that I was inconveniencing her. After more than an hour, I called and asked when could I expect my order, she repeated when there was another order in my neighborhood she'd have the drive go out. But then it occurred to me if it was possible that she asked the kitchen to prepare my order? I asked and she said, "No." So I can assume she had no intention to rectify *her* mistake. I order quite often from this restaurant, but now I will never order from them. As I mentioned above, for the most part the food is meh, but it's closer than their competitors and less expensive. We ordered delivery for a large group staying in Wilmington. The delivery option was a lifesaver for us! We called in a large order and received everything as requested and delivery was pretty fast, considering the distance and amount of food we ordered. ***important update. Where to begin.... So yesterday was my birthday. I wanted to get take out to avoid going to the store due to COVID19. I had such a good experience last time, I thought I would give takeout a try. I order at 315 online for pick up at 5pm. We arrived at 445 and were told they are "making the sushi and it will be right out". A half hour passed and we were told the same thing. Finally at 45 minutes and getting frustrated we went back in to ask what's going on. The waitress went in and an all out pissing match began in the kitchen between her and the cooks. At 6pm I was so upset that I told the waitress we need to leave and want a refund. She then stated "THEY DONT HAVE THE AVOCADOS TO MAKE THE SUSHI". Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?! Where is the respect for the customer? Why not just tell us that in the beginning instead of lying to us and making us wait for something that was NEVER GOING TO BE READY BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE THE INGREDIENTS. I would have been totally understanding by the way, if they had just been honest. I am beyond disappointed with this place and will never give them my business again. If I could give it zero stars I would!! Ordered take out. Took 1.5 hours to get food (were told that ahead of time). Received our food. Was mediocre at best. Then I saw our bill. Our food totaled $43. Then $73 was written on the check and our credit card was charged for that amount. I calmed and was informed there is a $25 "gas charge" plus tax for delivery. I'm okay with delivery fee but $25 and to not inform the customer that is what it was is unacceptable. I will be calling our bank to ask about this and see what can be done. I love sushi, eat it all the time. A pretty lady offered to take me out to get sushi. How could i say no! What a mistake. First off our order came in what appeared to be a large salad bowl filled with shredded cabbage. A blinking led light was hidden somewhere beneith the wilted vegetation. Presentation was laughable. Humor makes dates fun so we had a chuckle and dove in. I immediately thought i was on an episode of survivor trying to win a visit from a family memeber. You know the challenge where they need to eat the rotten fish! The sushi was slimy, i managed to choke a piece of tuna down. My date however couldnt swallow, a rarity. We decided to try one more piece. I went for the octopus. Usually when i get octopus in a meal it is sliced nicely, one of my favorite kinds of sashimi. This piece wasnt even sliced. It was an inch and a half of pure tubular tentacle, like it was ripped off of cthulu himself. To make matters worse It tasted like something off an asain porn set. My date washed down a piece of spicy tuna roll with some luke warm green tea and turned green. I cant eat any of this she said. I agreed, it was horrible. Worst sushi i ever had. Sakura was a nightmare of inefficiency and health hazards at the site of our former beloved Indian restaurant. I was served broken glass there and when I told the waitstaff the reply was; "That happens sometimes". This restaurant opened as "Panda West" which confused and angered many long time customers of Panda North. This place is usually empty when I drive by. This was the worst experience ever. My teriyaki beef is dried out, and no teriyaki. Crab Rangoon are funky tasting. Fried rice no flavor what so ever and very dry. Veggie chow mien is mostly liquid and no flavor. I'll never be back. On top of that the person taking the order was complaining about people not tipping so he has a fee for delivery.
