Most dishes have been very good. Best chicken fingers and fried rice in town. Good service.

I ordered the Szechuan beef and beef lo mein, wife had California dinner, 3 cali rolls and a small salad. Wifey said they were fantastic, super fresh, she loved it. My beef and lo mein was the bomb, never had Szechuan beef before, but this was so tasty, didn't skimp on meat, not to spicy, same with lo mein. Put it this way folks, where we are in CT, you can throw a stone and hit dozens of Chinese, Japanese, sushi, or Thai places, heck we even have Tibetan one. We could drive 20 min and hit 30-50 more. But Jon were as good as this place, we laughed and said to each other " hey do u want Chinese food ? Yeah. Welll where do u want to go ? Let's go to Brattleboro!!!! " That's an hr and 15 min away. We also joked, but had some seriousness to it, they need to bring this place down to CT or someplace down in CT needs to steal this chef !

We had the fried rice lunch special, and the shrimp with lobster sauce lunch special. They both came with egg drop soup. It was about $30, which is pretty reasonable. There was a ton of food. They also pack it in a hot bag, which is great. Speaking of which, the food was VERY hot. The fried rice was delicious and I really enjoyed the shrimp with lobster sauce. My husband loved the egg drop soup. A great place to stop for lunch in Brattleboro!

Everything is made fresh to order from the thick, hand-pulled noodles, dumplings, and scallion pancakes. Ordering is quick and casual. You place your order at the back right counter when you walk in (for dine-in or takeout), and the cashier also acts as your server. If you order a noodle soup, they'll ask if you want green onions and/or cilantro. After that, just grab any open table and relax. We ordered a variety of dishes. Appetizers: Scallion pancakes: (3/5) nice crispy pancakes with scallions. Dumplings with pork and leeks: (3/5) tender dumplings filled with pork and some leeks Spicy stewed beef noodle soup: (4/5) thick hand pulled noodles in a savory broth topped with vegetables like bok choy and mushroom and some tender beef Hot and sour vermicelli soup: (4/5) very tangy savory broth with tender vermicelli noodle and ground pork. Medium spicy level Biang Biang noodles with pork: (4/5) their signature hand-pulled noodles are sautéed in a medium spicy sauce with pork. Overall this place hits the spot for an authentic Chinese meal without the glitz and glamour.

The first clue was the Cold Sesame Noodles appetizer that we tried. A generous portion and as close as I have had, to Chinatown taste. The hot and sour soup was served cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be heated, but once it was hot it was as good a soup as I have had. Egg rolls were crispy and crunchy and we all enjoyed them but the Duck Sauce was very watery. That could be improved. We had shrimp with lobster sauce which couldn't have been any better. Wonderful flavor and huge fresh shrimp. The boneless ribs were the star of the show. Big meaty chunks of pork rib piled high on the plate. Every table around us ordered them. Sweet and charred crispy, they are a must have! The fried rice was NY style with bits of pork and a hint of vegetables mixed in. I would have given Joy Wah 5 stars for the food but our waiter was just a little bit below par. We ordered several dishes to share but never were offered plates to share with. When we asked for to go boxes he bought us boxes too small for amounts of food on our plates. And he had his face in his phone the entire time we were there. If he paid more attention this would have been a 5 star review.
