I went back to Asian Grill and servers and the owners recognize me right away and it was very warm welcome even if it was for a while return to Asian grill. I ordered bake lobster roll and u don noodle soup and the flavor and the noodle was bomb. The sushi chef also explains me about the lobster they use is real baby lobster called "langostino" The baby lobster. Bake sauce were best in my life. My first experience here and it was pretty good. If I could give them a half star, I'd give them 3.5, but I'm willing to jump the half star for these reasons: Service- the service here was great. Our server was attentive and came over several times to check on us. She brought everything we needed and didn't forget anything. Atmosphere- the atmosphere was nice. It wasn't fancy nor was it too casual. Kind of in the middle and it was quaint, which made it feel a little more private. Parking- ample parking, no issues whatsoever Food- it was decent. It wasn't great, but it wasnt bad. We ordered sushi rolls, yakisoba, and a teriyaki chicken bowl. The sushi tasted good, but could have been more fresh. The raw scallops weren't fresh and had a weird taste (kind of like burnt rubber). Also the rolls all looked similar, which I'm not used to. For the price you pay for rolls, you kind of expect a little more pizzazz. The chicken yakisoba was okay. It wasn't the best I've had, but it had pretty good flavor. The chicken was pretty dry. Also, the portion size wasn't that great. For $13.00, I could have gotten twice as much noodles somewhere else. I was disappointed because the Ramen noodles here are just like the same ones you buy from the store. You know the one that sells for 25 cents each. I like my Ramen noodles with the more authentic noodles where it's not so curly and the taste is just a lot better. I feel it's not that heavy. I ordered the seafood which was $13 and with tax just 14. Ramen with vegetables alone was 9 and prices goes up from there. My Ramen came with shrimp, scallop and other seafood I didn't remember. It smelled fresh, which was my first reason for staying! If I don't care for the smell of a place, I can't stay. The food and service were both amazing! We had a group of 13 and even though they don't take reservations they were really nice on the phone and accommodated is by holding some tables. Our server was fast and easy going and let us do separate checks by family. We had a variety of dishes- tempura appetizers, noodles, teriyaki bowls, and sushi. The reviews were a little exaggerated and seems to be everyone raves about the experience, service and food but I differ on it and going to throw my two cents on it. The place is lovely, with the dark color ambience and subtle lighting and it was clean. Service was going to be a problem once we came into the door, we weren't greeted nicely and sorta got bad vibes. Like usual I got the, "hurry up and buy type" of waitress and I ask what's good on the menu and I receive a answer of, "I don't know. Everything should be". That is not an answer and right way to give to a customer. Anyways I ordered a Fried Roll and for my daughter I asked for a Fried Rice bowl but was told we don't have any. Now that threw me off, they must have tons of white rice and veggies on the kitchen and they could of fried some with teriyaki, spices and soy sauce and call it a night. They offered me to get the Chicken Rice Bowl which surprised me is everything like fried rice without the frying. Fish quality and plating stacked up to the other neighboring joints in Visalia. Tony the sushi chef was a cool cat, gave me some free tempura Ahi while I was waiting for my fish. After waiting over 20 minutes asked about the other entree we ordered it was told it would be coming up right. Obviously they had forgotten about it. No apologies. When it did finally come it was not what my husband ordered but due to time constraint he ate it. When I went up to pat it was considerable more money than what my husband had ordered. When I told the girl she just looked at me like "so" and handed me back my card to sign. Once again no apologies nothing for the wait. He said it was good but that is not the point.
