This is our go to spot for sushi. It's not a huge place, but has a good amount of seating. The atmosphere is comfortable and fun. The menu isn't huge, but everything on it is good. Some of our favorite rolls are the spicy tuna tataki, the firecracker roll and my family loves the double double. We are also fond of the the fantastic roll. If you are looking for something different, but amazing, try the dinosaur egg. Of course they have great starters too, edamame, potstickers and the tempura being our faves. Wow! Dont waste your time or money. Ordered the Yakisoba Noodles chicken and it was gross. The chicken was flavorless and the noodles were overcooked. The portion that I received for $13 was outrageously small. Not that it mattered. No one ate it. I paid $9 for 8pcs of vegetable tempura. OMG! Again the smallest portion sizes ever. Wife and I split the appetizer special which was awesome. We had a groupon so we couldn't use it on sushi but she got the chicken yakisoba and I had the Japanese noodles. Her yakisoba initially came out with no chicken but the waiter was really nice, apologized profusely and corrected it to include chicken, then just charged us for the regular price. It tasted good and she really liked it. I was expecting something like Japanese ramen(lived there for 4 years) it was ok. They then gave us free ice cream for messing up her order. We'll be back! I was doing some work in the shopping center and thought I'd stop in real quick and grab a bite to eat before I had to get back to work. The waiter asked if I would like to sit at the sushi bar and I said no I want a table. He said they only have tables for four and wouldn't seat me, so I just said thank you and I turned around and walked out. I went there with my 2 daughters after a game in Tulare. we were all starving and ordered chicken Udon, Miso Soup, Eel Roll cut, California Roll cut and 8 Potstickers. I ordered us all ice water after a hot day being outside all morning...and being cheap, cutting costs, lol. The Miso Soup came first and my older daughter stared at me while I slurped up the broth to ease my hunger. The California Roll then Eel Roll came next for my younger daughter and myself to eat but had to share with the older one since her soup hadn't come in yet. By the time her soup came, we had finished the sushi, and it felt awkward to sit there while one person was the only one eating. We were still a little hungry so I ordered 8 Potstickers. When they came, we shared that too and the Chicken Udon was finished. I LOVED my Eel Sushi but wished the serving was a tiny bit more or larger for $8. The $2 Miso Soup hit the spot. The Potstickers were alright, and a bit too oily for me (fried). I'm usually never impressed by any California Roll but tried it anyways...it was ok as usual. I was here on 10/25/2011. Disappointing. Food took over an hour to serve. I ordered the spicy noodle soup. Save yourself cash and just buy top ramen or nong shim brand. The veggies tasted like they came out of a frozen bag from Costco. Ambiance is nice. But I'd rather have a crappy environment with good food rather than the other way around. Super target is just across the way. Might as well get a pizza there. And what kind of a sushi place doesn't have happy hour. This place won't last long. Everyone from the "chefs" to the servers looked unhappy. Overpriced food for fast food quality. Oh and the Udon soup has the exact same vegetables that was in my spicy noodle soup. The tempura that came with it looked like they were made out of rubber which probably means they came out of a frozen bag as well. You know what, you might as well go to panda express. Sushi rolls were very sad looking. So small, it appears they are only serving half rolls. Even the most expensive sushi rolls was small and not worth the money. They are over priced for the portions they serve and service is very slow. There appears to only be one waiter, during lunch. Have been here before but only for their Ramen. I don't type reviews, but this has to be the one. This is in regards to the curry and spicy noodles with beef ($11-13), made in 28 Dec, 2019. For the curry/spicy noodles, they're questionable in a two ways: 1) the noodles appear/tasted similarly to Maruchan's beef flavored noodles, 2) and the beef tasted like soft beef jerky's. It felt immensely cheap for the price it was labeled; and I'm concerned if that is truly the case. ... If anyone were to eat these, do not expect much from them whatsoever (for now, I hope). If you like it, I'm glad. If you question what and where these ingredients come from, even better and power to you. I wonder where they source their ingredients from, let alone if the cook knows what he/she doing. If you're a traveler and don't live around here, are familiar with good "Asian" food even if they're mediocre, and are craving for "Japanese" food, I'd suggest otherwise. read more

Shared the love boat with my hubby for our first year wedding anniversary (I thought it was fitting ). $65 could have easily fed 3-4 people. 2 rolls, sashimi, sushi and miso. The hubby loved the rolls he's not a fan of sashimi. Sashimi was delish and fresh!!! Not always the case in the valley. Owner was awesome. Came over to wish us well and gave us free dessert. The service at this restaurant is far beyond exceptional. My boyfriend and I were looking for a good sushi place to have sort of a late dinner at (we were coming from a basketball game in Delano). I was afraid that the workers would feel indifferent towards us since we showed up with just about 30 minutes before closing, but as soon as we walked into the restaurant we were given the humblest greeting not only from the waitress, but also the owner and his wife. The food was great, it is a little pricey if you're use to the half off sushi rolls in larger cities, but it is worth every bit of tranquility and deliciousness. As my boyfriend and I were enjoying our tasty rolls, there's was something spectacular and very inspiring to see. The owner and his wife (I believe it's his wife) were having dinner, when one of their employees made his way to their table eager to talk about something. As the conversation proceeded, it was quite obvious that this restaurant is far more than a one way relationship between employer and employees. The owner was giving his employee heart-to-heart advice and encouragement about life outside of the workplace. It was truly a beautiful thing to observe. I always appreciate places like this where respect and passion really come full circle. We'll definitely be back! read more

I went to the restaurant based on the Yelp reviews but was disappointed. The udon lacked flavor and my scallops were undercooked. When I asked for the scallops to be cooked longer, they cooked my entire sushi, including the California roll underneath instead of just cooking the scallops. Also, they turned the lights off on us because it was on the same line as the OPEN sign. I understand you want to close the restaurant but can you give me a warning first before you turn the lights off on me? You could have sat me in the section of the restaurant where the lights stayed on so I could enjoy my food in the light. The good part of my visit was the garlic edamame. read more

Best sushi in town. They use very fresh and quality ingredients. I loved their light-seasoning with oysters so I could enjoy texture and taste of very fresh oysters. Noodles are very authentic and full-flavored. One more thing I liked was they use thick fish slice for their sushi so I could enjoy full flavor of fresh fish and rightly seasoned rice combination. Friendly staff, clean place, inviting, and they often throw in something on the house- how often does THAT happen??! Sushi: Amazeballs! You know where the fish comes from (The chef goes and catches some himself- ask him about it) Oishi roll is a favorite- light, but satisfying. Firecracker and Philly are among the best rolls I've ever had. Ever. Baked rolls are top notch too. Seriously have sampled so many when going with groups and the sushi never disappoints! The sushi was good however, and this is a big however the chicken bento box I ordered had rancid turned chicken and instead of the cooks throwing it away they decided to microwave wave and reheat it. As soon as I took a bite the rancid flavor hit my taste buds. Upon visual inspection there was a actual line of discoloration down the middle of the chicken itself. I notified the waitress and the cooks made me a new one after they saw the line in the chicken but I don't think a customer should be notifying any cook of rancid meat. I am giving a two stars instead of one just because of the good sushi. read more

Not impressed with the sushi, my appetizer and other entree were very good, so I will go back and give the sushi another chance. We went on a Wednesday evening at around 6pm. There were 4 other couples dining at the same time. The ambiance is nice and clean, nicely decorated. We ordered pot stickers, chicken yakisoba, a firecracker sushi roll and teriyaki chicken bowl. The pot stickers were perfectly fried and delicious, they came with a broth for dipping that was also very tasty. The chicken yakisoba noddles were a bit too soft or overcooked, but the flavor was good. We ordered heat level 8 that I expected to be much spicier, next time I'll get at least a 9 if not a 10. The teriyaki bowl was AMAZING, the best I've had around here. The sushi roll was not well put together, it was falling apart and although the taste was good, the construction made it disappointing. read more

Wow, the place is very clean and they also posted 100 % certified by Tulare county health department two time in consecutive means they were 100% approved by local health inspections over the year. The service was very friendly and family owned and all the servers were so nice and professional. I ordered yellowtail belly for sushi and sashimi combo that was just melt on my mouth and extremely fresh as well. If I have budget to spend on food, this is the only place. It was built like classic contemporary style and bright but cozy surroundings. The Udon Noodle soup with chicken was delicious. I added chili paste to the broth and it took it to a whole other level. I could hardly keep myself from using a straw to drain it in one gulp. I also had the Korean noodles. It wasn't good, was plain tasting with little to no seasoning, really disappointed with that. Service was adequate. Was the only customer in at the time for lunch which I thought was odd. This restaurant is all about sushi and teriyaki. Their sushi rolls appear big but if you look closely, it is mainly RICE. In fact, that's mainly what you taste, RICE. They really need to back off on the RICE. It wasn't that sticky either. The meat/crab portion was small. I didn't get any avocado in my california roll??. Overall, not too bad but not good either. Enough said about the sushi rolls. The other foods are okay (udon soup and teriyaki.) Nothing stands out. The service was really slow, even though there was only one other table.
