Turned around and she met me at the car with apologies. Now you may be asking, what's the big deal, it's the right thing to do, and YOU are right. Unfortunately, we have people in our society who consciously take the libertarian approach that capitalism rules the day, and business have the right to act without interference from anyone or anything, thus allow the free market to dictate its societal status. The service has truly gone from good to bad. I ordered sushi a couple months ago and each piece fell completely apart from just trybig to pick up. I was given an apology and promised a credit on my account. I called today to place an order and the service was by far the worse. The tone was an attitude, especially when I asked about the credit and to speak with a manager. The manager takes the call and continues to tell me, I do not show a credit on your account, but you can place the order and we can call you back about the credit. I will no longer patronize bad/poor service and lately subpar food from an establishment that does not appreciate its customers. If you prefer to lose continued service over a $20 dish...this place is definitely not the place for me. read more

Everything about our visit here at Asian Harbor was perfect, from the food to the service. The staff, especially behind the bar, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Incredible food, really unique combination of Chinese, Japanese, and Peruvian food. All of the food was incredible, a really diverse set of options across cold dishes, wok dishes, sushi, and more. Everything was really flavorful and delicious. Our server was fantastic, always giving great recommendations without being too overbearing. I like this restaurant but the food I had was not that great. I had the shrimp Thai fried rice. It was not good. The rice was very sticky, very bland & very dark. You can tell the shrimp was not cooked in the food but just thrown in the rice afterwards. The shrimp still had the tails on. It upsets me to write a bad review about this place as I have been impressed many times in the past. Not this time... We came in, got sat, and waited about a half hour for a server to come. We asked the host if someone would be coming to help us soon and a server showed up shortly after. Slow service, good food... but then we went to leave and we were stopped by the manager who said "excuse me, was something wrong with your service you didn't leave her a tip?" Which I found greatly offensive because I made it a point to leave a cash tip on the table rather than on the card EVEN AFTER the slowest service I've ever received. I've been eating here for years and every time I go I can never be disappointed. The portion sizes are wonderful and we'll priced. I find almost everything I order to be very delicious any time during the day. I often order the Par kee mao which comes in a large portion size that will certainly leave you full by the time you leave. It's a very well balanced Thai dish that I think tastes the best when paired with chicken. It's savory in a way that leaves me excited for each bite and it never gets boring. The basil and the sauce are the star of the show because they are what makes the dish taste so good. I would also HIGHLY recommend starting off with some fries or steamed dumplings they too are amazing. I get them every time I get the opportunity and they are still some of the best dumplings I've ever had. Maybe it's the sauce or maybe it's the filling, either way they are work it. I can also recommend any classic dishes for those feeling less adventurous such as general tso,s, pepper steak, sweet and sour chicken and pad Thai. My pad thai was undercooked, my Philadelphia rolls tasted and looked old, I asked for two soups and I got one salad I asked for a side of spicy Mayo and didn't get any! Homewood Ill, (Chicago) Such a cute place. Visit them on FB they have live music and $5 drinks some Mondays out the month. Thw staff is great, plays nice music. Beedee was our waiter. He was funny. You get lots of food on your plate. They have a full bar and the prices are average around $15 a plate. Gets crowded on the weekends we were there in the evening time on a Thursday. They even have a cool little seating waiting area. Just too cute. They have no happy hour YET. But soon to come. read more
