Special Note: After checking my receipt, I noticed an automatic 10% gratuity was already added to my total which was something I didn't realize until after I had also tipped another 10% at pickup. Also, there were no utensils included in the bag, so make sure you grab some if you need them. On a recommendation I got shrimp egg fu young, And Baby , it was definitely the best I've ever had. I usually have it all in separate containers and white rice but this was cooked fresh before my eyes it had fried rice and it was all in one dish. Have you ever heard of a Chinese restaurant that has a drive thru ? Yeah, this is a first for me too! This was my first time here and I'm so glad I finally gave it a try. I drive by here a lot and when I do the parking lots usually full, so what's gotta say something. I think I walked in on a busy day because the order took longer than expected however all customers waiting for their orders spoke nothing but great things about this restaurant. In a conversation nearby I heard a man say "it usually takes 10 mins but the food here's good so it's getting busier" and sure people came in and made a comment about the wait but from what I saw, they were busting their asses back there! My order was the last to get prepared and when it was ready to go I tipped the cashier $5.. she smiled through that mask (everyone had double mask btw) and she thanked me many times for it, apologized about the wait and explained that they were short handed today. I told her their customers were loyal because they really were saying nothing but good things about it. She handed me a menu and told me to call if I had any questions. Ok I admit; is been a few years ago that I've ordered from this place. It used to be great or have my taste buds really changed that much? Ordered shrimp fried rice and pot stickers. The rice was tasteless and the pot stickers were doughy. Yuck. I can't tell you how to prepare either of these dishes but I would expect some 'love' to be put in my meal. It was as if they didn't have all the ingredients to prepare either dish. If it weren't for the fact that I lived so far away I surely would have returned it. I regrettably had to trash $15 worth of food. It was that bad. The staff are really nice people but if you don't frequently visit an establishment either you forget what things taste like or they don't know what you like. I just like my meals prepared with love. That means adding some spice or onion or garlic. Whatever. Now that's not to say that other dishes aren't delicious. I may have ordered the wrong thing that time. Perhaps. This used to be some of the greatest, authentic American Chinese food in the area. It is now under new ownership and the food is horrible at best. I am really sad to see and to taste the new school takeover. The portions are smaller, the food is not well seasoned or well cooked....They don't listen fully to orders and they move too fast usually getting my orders wrong. I had to take my food back several times because they messed up my order. One time when they got the order right there was so much white rice in my shrimp fried rice that it was not edible. I used to could order spicy food with no problems but since they messed up the order so much I can no longer order my food spicy because my husband does not eat spicy food and I'm afraid that they will make his food spicy(as they have done many times before) and we would have to take it back again Wait for them to redo his order whilemy food get cold.So I have to pay an additional $.50 for the hot pepper sauce to be put on the side. The taste and food flavors are not the same as having the spices cooked throughout your food. The last straw for me was when I ordered hot and spicy soup and the tofu was burnt.. I have been eating Hong's since it was down further south on Western in Park Forest. This is she of the best Chinese take-out you can find in the South Suburbs. GREAT fried Rice, general Tao chicken, Crab Rangoon, and egg rolls. Their egg foo yung is also very very good. Can't beat their prices either. Word of advice. Order the lunch specials. There is PLENTY of in one to float 2 people. Also, get the shrimp fried rice with extra onions and sprouts to kick it up a notch. read more

My family got together this past Sunday and discovered Liangs is closed on Sunday ( which was fine for me since I wanted pizza). So we ordered take out at Hong's for the first time. Since I'm not big on Chinese food and I was out voted ( the toddlers even voted against me, how dare they since I'm their fav!) I had to settle for Egg Fu Young ( which I hate), shrimp fried rice ( how could you not like it?) and Beef Peking ( I think). The last dish mentioned had stringy noodles ( cooked well on the side) with beef, shrimp, scallops, chicken, broccoli, carrots, herbs, and chives/onions in a brown sauce. It wasn't the best but decent, although the rest of my family didn't care for that dish very much but raved about the Egg Fu Young. It may have helped to serve the noodles already mixed in but meh...maybe not. The highlight of this meal was the shrimp fried rice, it was a complete win! But last night I went back and tried the jumbo fried rice and asked if they could make it a little spicy. The spice level was fine but it just didn't taste the same as the one I had that Sunday prior. It was fried harder, looked darker, and not as fresh tasting. What gives Hong's? The shrimp was plentiful though. If out voted again on food choice and I try this place again I will stick to egg rolls and regular fried rice but I hope I don't get outvoted next time, I would almost always prefer pizza! read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. They have amazing food and super sweet service. I never have to wait too long for my food to get done. I usually call my order in and by the time I get there it's ready. They give you so much food for the price is specially for the lunch special it comes with shrimp fried rice, aside, and egg roll and a drink. I often get Chinese food from this place because it is the closest place to me that I know of. They are not bad at all. I just had to get some Chinese food for dinner and I pulled out my menu that I had saved and I saw that they had delivery on their menu so I called to find out how far out they deliver in the woman told me that they don't deliver. It's unfortunate that they don't deliver or we would probably eat from there a lot more often. I always get the vegetable chow fun noodles because I don't want to eat meat. I don't really like eating vegetables but this dish makes me want to eat all the vegetables because their sauce makes them taste so delicious! It's all in the sauce and they season it perfectly!
