I loved this place! I was genuinely surprised at the decor, especially for a strip mall restaurant. Definitely some of the best Japanese in the area, that's for sure. Have been to Asian Harbor a few times. It's my "go to" place to take my guests when visiting from other cities. The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is usually good unless you get a server who doesn't speak any English. The only drawback is they bring their children in either after school or when there's no school and they usually have cartoons playing on the television. Kind of distracts from the normally sedate Asian ambiance you'd expect from a sushi place. Other than that, it's pretty darn good! read more

It was ok. We ordered the Pad Thai, Fried Thai Snapper, and sushi. Nobody was impressed. Service was good. Don't think I'd return.

Have been here a few times for sushi and the one time Im almost positive the fish was bad because an hour or two after eating it I puked all the sushi right up than felt perfectly fine. also, I once ordered a shrimp fried rice to go to bring to work that night and as soon as I opened it there was a HUGE black hair in it. As of right now it's the only sushi place in Howell. Really a shame because it's had the potential, for me anyway, to do very well! read more

Party for 4 for Valentines day. Made a reservation for 7:30. Table was ready, place was very busy so we figured there would be a wait. However......we waited 3 hours for our food. Seated at 7:30 and for was served at 10:30. We complained several times and the waitress kept telling us that they were making it now, and that was since 9pm. WILL NEVER GO BACK. They were totally un prepared for the crowed and did not even have enough wine glasses. They gave us water glasses for our wine. I DON'T THINK SO. read more

Been here a few times and the food is very good! Lots to chose from on the menu, but not overwhelming. The Pineapple fried rice and the Christmas roll are my favorite menu items! It's a tad pricey for a small sushi restaurant but the quality of the food makes up for it read more

The sushi here is probably good did not have any this time. Got the pad thai and wasnt impressed at all, took two bites and didnt want anymore. Would not recommend the thai dishes, lacks flavor. and the chicken was weird. The manager came to see if i wanted anything else but did not remove the pad thai from the bill even though it was barely touched. read more

I've eaten at Asian Harbor and have also ordered to-go many times. The service at the restaurant is always good and food is usually good as well. My issue tonight was with a take-out order. I placed my order online with the option to pay at the restaurant, I like this option because I can pay with cash or c.c. Instead of putting my card info online. My order was placed at 6:33. The total was $60. I arrived at the restaurant at 6:55 under the assumption I would have a short wait. I paid upon giving the gentleman behind the counter my info and was told it'd be a few minutes. I waited until 7:10 and the same gentleman apologized and told me it'd be another minute. Honestly, I had no problem with the wait, it is Friday evening and the restaurant was half full. My order was brought out at 7:29. The gentleman apologized one last time as I left. When I got home and opened the bags up, I found the Filet Mignon Hibachi cold. It wasn't warm in the least, it was all cold. I was suprised because the bag had just been brought out from the kitchen. Now the total cost of my order was $60 and the Filet was $28. The portion size is okay, but I didn't think I could let it go without a phone call to the manager. I called the restaurant and the same gentleman who waited on me answered. I asked to speak to the manager regarding a complaint with an order. I didn't give any other details about my compliant. I was put on hold and when the gentleman came back he said "the manager asked if he could take a message?" I was a bit surprised the manager wouldn't want to hear feedback from a customer. He then said he could take my number and the manager would call me back. I informed the gentleman that if the manager didn't care enough to talk now,I didn't think I should have to wait until he did to listen to a longtime "former" customer. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I was so impressed with this place that I thought they deserved it. I had the 'Crazy Tuna' and the 'Lime Leaf Grilled Chicken', and I am not exaggerating when I say that each dish could easily be the tastiest thing I have ever eaten. My husband and I have been going there for over a year. The sushi has always been delicious, but the customer service is HORRIBLE. There's only one staff member there that's ever been friendly. We recently had an issue with our order and instead of offering anything for the mistake, the owner gave us an attitude about giving us our money back. We will not be back for a while. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND SUSHI IS OVERPRICED...My girlfriend and I have been here many times and for some reason I come back, I guess I just enjoy horrible service and overpriced sushi. So the most recent visit was the worst, since it was good Friday I assumed the place would be busy so we had called an order to pick up at 7 and went to go pick it up a half hour after they told us it would be ready. When I arrived there were 2 waitresses serving only about 5 tables. So I waited 5, 10, then 15 minutes for someone to ring up my food. At this point I had enough and went up to one of the waitresses and mentioned I ordered over an hour ago and wanted to be rang up. The server looked at me with a blank face and walked over to ring me up. Now I'm waiting 10 more minutes just to get my food that I paid for and ordered well over 1 hour ago. Eventually after waiting 25 in the restaurant for my order I placed an hour ago, they finally got me my food....Overall I've been here many times and the service is horrible every single time, the sushi is never really fresh and it's overpriced. A new sushi place needs to open up around them to put them out of business because there's no competition and they are aware of this.......Save yourself the money and headache and go elsewhere.....anywhere read more
