After our first week of quasi-isolation in the midst of the Covid-19 mess we decided that Sunday night would be Chinese takeout night. We were heartbroken that our go-to restaurant, China Star, was closed. We had sushi at Asian House a couple times and it was pretty good so we thought we'd try their Chinese. Big mistake. We called before ordering online. The guy we spoke to was more concerned that we tipped the delivery driver in cash than he was about us ordering. We placed our order and was a bit surprised at how expensive it was, but we were determined to have Chinese. A short time after placing the order a very sweet woman from the restaurant called asking how much I wanted to tip the driver. I told her that the guy I spoke to said cash only, and she said no, she would add it to the charge. Bad communications in house? The order arrived on time and the delivery driver was very nice. I verified that her tip was already covered. Now, the main event, the food was here, and I knew we were in trouble as soon as we opened the containers. I grew up in the area and my wife grew up in CA. We can attest that chow mein and fried rice are brown, not yellow like what Asian House delivered. The rice could honestly have been a Rica-a-Roni yellow rice dish. None of the familiar flavors that we love were there. The chow mein was sweet, so it again was not what we expected or what we like. None of it tasted bad, it just didn't taste like the Chinese food that we enjoy. We have found a much better sushi place, Yamato Asian Bistro and will have to wait for our favorite Chinese takeout place to reopen. We certainly won't be back at Asian House. read more

Solid Americanized Chinese food. Picked up some chicken in garlic sauce, orange beef, Malaysian fried rice, and gioza. I asked for extra spicy, but my guess is that they don't even know how to do this. The orange beef must've been velveted, because it was really tender. Almost too tender for the style of this dish. The chicken was tasty, but had zero heat. They claimed that inclusion of sausage made the rice Malaysian, but it tasted like any standard fried rice. Nothing like nasi goreng. The gioza were fine-probably frozen ones that are readily available. Portions were good, and prices reasonable. The owner gave me a Thai tea while I was waiting which was really good. We've been looking for good sushi in the area and had been eyeballing the reviews on this place. Decided to finally check it out. This restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. The employees are "all" friendly and efficient. We were very impressed with the service. The quality of food was excellent! I worked in a sushi bar for several years so I am a stickler about fresh sushi. We had a Godzilla roll and the AK47 roll - - both delicious and tasty. We also had the "house" fried rice . . have to say I could have eaten the entire bowl . . it was that good! Remember . . . it's BYOB as they do not have their liquor license, however, we just went with their hot tea. We may bring some sake next time. There is a little room for improvement here atmosphere-wise. They had two large screen TV's with CC captioning on. That being said a little (low volume) background music would have been nice. We ate early 430pm and almost had the place to ourselves. We cannot wait to go back to try more of their delicious offerings. read more

Went back to this spot on another visit and sadly, the food and drink were not the same as our first visit. Service was great -- very attentive and friendly (no complaints). However, the food was not as good. The sauce was to sweet and completely overwhelmed the veggies and shrimp (which were lovely themselves). Sad. Omg the food is delicious. I found the portions to be just right. Service is excellent. If you are looking for the old traditional American asian food stay home. Your not going to get fried rice soaked in soy sauce and deep fried foods in old grease. The chow mein sandwich might even be different from your traditional 70's menu, but if you like fresh, and new you'll love Asian House!! I highly recommended it to all my friends and they've all loved it. The prices are comparable to other restaurants of its caliber. If your adventures and love variety this is a good start for you. Upscale food in Fall River. Excellent food beautifully served. We had seaweed salad, nim chow, chicken and broccoli, pineapple fried rice, basil chicken, house special fried rice, tea flavored ice cream. All was well prepared, quickly and elegantly served. Nim chow was not on the menu but the waitress assured us it was available. It was slightly different than we have had it elsewhere, the dipping sauce was sweet rather than salty but it was excellent. The waitress also brought us a house salad gratis that was not on the menu. I would definitely ask for it in the future. Take a look at the photos of the food. After being tired of "Store Bought" Sushi and being craved I hit my Yelp App. I was in for a quick fix and didn't want to drive too far, I had few choices. VERY FEW! It's a real shame that in our little corner of MA & RI you are forced to drive to one of the other big cities. With so many Asians in and directly around Fall River, MA I am limited to only two locations. First I look at the pictures of the food. From them, I was most impressed. My eyes tell me about half of what I need to know to make a decision on where to go. Then I read the reviews. After all, that's what I'm here for! The FOOD! I don't really care if someone wants faster service or didn't like the decor. So I walk in and head straight to the sushi bar. I want to see the quality of the fish, how it's handled and how clean the prep area is. So far so good. All the fish and other items are covered with plastic sheeting. So they care. I was asked if I would like you be seated by a pleasant and professional young person. Then I looked around to see that even after one pm, that the place is half full. It's small but the customers are more than half Asian. The locals eat here and from what is in front of them, the food looks good, very good. I sat and ordered the Sushi & Sashimi combination. I also ordered two each of the Ikura, one pair in sashimi, the other sushi. After my beverage was delivered I thought them a curveball, I wanted it to go. No problem! I was driving home twenty minutes later. The service was very good. The food even better! I must point out here that they use very little rice in their rolls and sashimi. Just enough to hold the roll together and enough to make a base for the sashimi. You get a mouthful of fish, not rice. Firm buttery creamy fish with lots of delicate flavor. I'm going to be completely honest with my review. Food is great. Ur the customer service is completely garbage. I'll start from the top. Two days ago my roommate was ordering takeout(he orders from there twice a week at least). He orders his usual and asks me what I want I have never ordered from there so I just said get me peeking chicken. Food arrives and taste amazing. Well today he orders again. I order the same thing but now they say they don't have peeking chicken. Weird right. So instead I say order me Kung pao chicken. Not knowing it's smothered in peanuts. I'm allergic. Food arrives, and I'll call them. First I'm polite and explain to them about how amazing the food was two days prior and I want to know the name of the chicken. He says some weird name and I just say yeah sure can we swap that out bc I can't eat this. He literally says no sell is final and it's my fault. So I go with out. Now that have definitely lost two customers. One being a frequent flier 2+ times a week. Hands down the worst customer service I've experienced. I wish I could give more stars because my sushi was delicious, but the rest was questionable. I personally only had the sushi, but my son had house lo mein and sweet and sour chicken. This was a late dinner, about 8pm. He ended up really sick all night and the next day. I mean SICK...coming out both ends. He was miserable. Maybe it was an unrelated stomach bug, but I'm doubting it. He was the only one to eat that food and the only one to get sick. And no one else has been sick from any kind of stomach bug. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when my girlfriend and I decided to eat here. The sushi I had tasted fresh and the waitstaff was quick and attentive. My only complaint is that some of the dishes are a little under-seasoned. My girlfriend had sesame chicken and it was good but the Szechuan spicy chicken just didn't have as much of a kick to it as a spicy dish should. I stopped in for lunch with a friend who suggested we have sushi. I am so glad we did. This was one of the most delicious and pleasant sushi experiences I have had. They offer multiple styles of Asian cuisine, but we stick with Japanese - sushi, sashimi, tempura. The vegetable tempura was cooked perfectly and was a very generous portion for 2-3 people to share. We then had the Angel roll, which was recommended by our waitress who clearly knew what she was talking about. It was delicious! We also ordered Tuna sashimi and a Yellowfin Tuna roll, both of which were extremely fresh and buttery. On top of the food, the service was great. I grew up in Fall River and currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where sushi is top notch. I would argue that Asian House would be able to compete with many of the sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. I'm also very surprised a restaurant of this caliber is located in Fall River! You need to go to Asia House when in the Fall River area and check out their sushi. If sushi is not your thing, I can probably guess the rest of their food is just as delicious. My suggestion is ask your waitress for what they would have. read more
