    Catfish and chips

Cat fish and chips. Love it and affordable. Real size of catfish. Recommend. One of the best Sacramento if you like fish & chip. May be order to go

The restaurant could use some cleaning. The service was quick. I want fried shrimp but they cook the shrimp in the same grease as the fish which is not okay with me. The snapper was better with hot sauce. The chicken was good and cooked throughly. It was seasoned well. The okra was good. The greens are good. The bathroom needs to be cleaned. There was a lot of parking

I can't give it negative stars! I ordered the 3 pc cod and it was horrible! Who batters cod in a heavy catfish batter? They do and it's not good. Cod should be battered in a light batter. This isn't it! Don't waste your time if you want good fish and chips. Sorry Skips but I won't be back!

Hair in the Sweet Potato Pie

3.3 rating is exactly what this place deserves. I ordered a 3pc cod dinner, my side was coleslaw, and I ordered a drink. The food was alright, 7/10 on taste, but I ordered a cod dinner and they me whiting. If they were out of cod, I wouldn't have had a problem changing my order, but to just give me whiting like I don't know the difference is poor service. The lady at the front was nice, but I also seen how the cook didn't have on a hair net. (I get that some people don't really care about that, but I've had too many stands of hair in my food because of this). In fact, I found a piece of hair in my sweet potato pie!

Wings cooked hard how I like them. Always fresh! New manager knows what he's doing. Def the go to spot now.

At first sight, I didn't think this was gonna be that amazing. However, their fish is amazing. Taste fresh super crispy not greasy. It is absolutely wonderful. We had the cod, shrimp and oysters. My favorite was the cod. It was wonderfully battered and cooked. Amazing I can't even believe this came out out of what I would call a fast food type joint. it's family owned and operated. Or least has that vibe.

Strolling down Truxel rd seeing what to eat. Oh my Skip's has opened up, with out Skipping a beat we stopped by. It was scarce inside, with couple employees, so we had plenty of time to comb through the menu. And it was clean too. Finally the choice's were rendered. One fish po'boy Skip's style, and one quick small basket of fish with fries. The food was served hot and tasted good. The po-boy bread was good. The choice of style you have is: Skip's style - coleslaw, tartar sauce and Skip's sauce. Traditional style - lettuce, tomato, pickle, tartar sauce & Skip's sauce. We got it to go and it comes in a box that opens almost fully like a tray. Differently cool and worked well. They have plenty of options and some non seafood items too if you fare for the sea.

My aunt been telling me to try this spot out so I did l, inside was clean, their customer service is good, the food was good, there was a long wait, but the owner kept reassuring the customers thanking us for being patient, and he even gave us a slice of cake.

This place is so generous with their portions & DANG do they know how to season food! The raspberry lemonade slushie is perfect & tangy on hot summer today. I got the fried shrimp basket which comes with two sides for 14$ honestly not bad at all with how generous they are with portions. My boyfriend got fried pickles & the chicken sandwich (he loves this place he's been here more than me) Can't believe it took us a year of living down the street to try this place out. What a great spot to get lunch! You can order online & pick it up which is what we did and it was super easy. I'll Be back again to try their fried chicken

Came in last week to have a quick lunch with my husband and it did not disappoint!! I will start by saying I'm not much of a fast fried food kinda girl but I 100% will keep coming back to this restaurant for just that! We went shortly after they opened so the restaurant was very clean, there was a few people there before us but the young lady at the front was quick to service us. I ordered the loaded fries and my husband the catfish. I was only able to eat half of mine and was grateful to be able to bring some home for later. Ever since we went last week I've been craving it and can't wait to go back. To the young lady in the front thank you for your great customer service and to the cook in the back thank you for making everything so delicious and fresh !

Carne Asada & Pork Belly Tacos both were tasty but the Pork Belly with the slaw Tacos were truly delectable. The salad they put out was fresh and crisp. I really wanted the burger but since we catered I am going to have to go back to try it out! Service: Above and Beyond. I spent 10 years in restaurant and another 9 in hospitality and the service at Birdies went beyond the mark of service. The one person that brought the vibe, the energy, the smile and made you feel like family...Loren. I kept telling him, I was inspired by him. Loren brought my 50th Celebration to the next level and truly made my friends, family and I feel very special and honored to be celebrating at Birdies. It is because of this experience, I will keep coming back. The bartenders were above and beyond as well. Big Mahalos to the sales team who assisted my wife and made everything easy for her. Ambiance: Clean and modern aesthetics. Half restaurant and bar. Half Golf simulator and outdoor patio. Golf simulator was awesome, my first time ever. Birdies is located about a half-block from the entrance to Sutter Health Park, near right field. So one game we got to about an hour early so we walked into Birdies to kill some time. I've been to Birdies probably 3 to 5 times and it's always been in this exact situation,Happy Hour before an A's game. It seems like they have a happy hour before most if not every game. When you go to Birdies they have both indoor and outside seating though I've only sat inside. They have three ways to order at Birdies, one can order at the bar or one can grab a table and order from a waiter or waitress or finally you can order from a QR code located at each table. Their Happy Hour features $8.00 items for both food and cocktail drinks though beers are priced at $6.00. Some of the things I've gotten over my visits during happy hour were as follows Blackberry Margaritas Guava Lime Spritz Urban Roots Lager Carne Asada Tacos Single Patty Smash Burger If I'm being honest, the food at Birdies is probably more towards average rather than excellent. The drinks though have all been made excellent and tasted great. This place to me is better suited for a spot to get great drinks before the game rather than great food. I would say the food here during Happy Hour is a better deal than anything you will find at the ballpark, that goes without saying. In closing, I can honestly say I'll continue coming to Birdies for pregame Happy Hour as often as possible. It's a really great spot to grab some drinks before the game!

The drinks were sweeter than before, arguably too sweet now. The gravy for the smothered chicken almost of my friends said was WAY too salty. My oxtails were still fairly tender but quite as much as before and the flavors were a little muted compared to before. The deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown too, pretty dry although the bacon was on point. I hadn't been since last summer and was happy to return. Parking can be a bit hectic, but once you're inside, the atmosphere makes up for it. It's a family-owned spot, and you can feel it right away -- everyone is kind, welcoming, and takes the time to check in on you. We came for breakfast, but they also offer lunch and barbecue options, so there's plenty to choose from depending on when you go. They've also expanded and now have a location in Elk Grove. I ordered the French toast plate, which came with thick-cut slices of bread, eggs, and bacon. The French toast was soft on the inside with a nice golden finish, full of flavor without being overly sweet. The eggs were well seasoned, and the bacon was cooked just right. BB ordered the cheeseburger with fries and a side of grits. The burger was juicy with grilled onions and melted cheese, and the fries had that crispy, beer-battered texture. Everything came out hot and satisfying. Overall, a great spot for comfort food with genuinely friendly service. Definitely planning to come back -- especially for the biscuits and gravy next time.

Once you throw in tax and tip, you're looking at over $10 for a half glass of wine. Walking out, I was talking to one of the neighbors here and asked if he had been.
