What i recieved was 55#, the spring rolls and a 42#!!! 42# was chow mein and generals chicken. I didnt realize the order until i got back to work. My original order was delicious, the meat was nicely seasoned but the shrimp was a little cold, i wont lie. Still very good! Rice was ok, i dont know if it was fresh or not, but just ok. The spring rolls were also very middle of the road. The peanut sauce was a little watery, but still very edible. The chow mein was actually a surprise, it had 5 spice in it and I actually liked the change! Big pieces of stir fried bok choy and onions, very good. The generals chicken was very tasty as well. Breaded, fried and soaking in sauce if you enjoy that. All in all i would have given a 3 but the pleasant mistake means i have chinese food for lunch tonight and tomorrow! These type of places just kill my "value" meter. We ordered up $45 worth of food and wasn't able to finish it all. I think we have a new favorite place to go for Vietnamese phood close to home. I usually order the rare steak pho. My wife has ordered the cold rice noodle vermicelli and the lemon grass chicken. The kids have stuck with the standard chinese. All things are good...the Vietnamese is better than the Chinese. This place is in a mini strip mall, for a gas station. So Ambiance is non existent. But the actual restaurant is nice and clean and a step up from your traditional asian fast food joint. The service is actually good...they people behind the counter seem to care about the food and their customers. The restaurant is right beside a gas station so you don't expect quality food for such a great price. The food quality is amazing. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food. I had the number 9 Pho. Steak with Brisket, large for $13. The meat quality was good, and the soup flavor was delicious. I arrived at 6 PM on Labor Day with the restaurant was almost empty. Been wanting to check this place out since quite a few of my friends go here. Decided to meet the wife here for lunch on a Tuesday and the place was packed! Usually a good sign I got my goto dish at Vietnamese restaurants which is charbroiled pork and shrimp over vermicelli. It was a decent dish, but I think the pork could have been done better. Usually the pork is sliced thin and maybe even caramelized from the charbroil and maybe even have some burned edges. Asian Pho seems to cut their pork into small chunks rather than slices and it just wasn't very charbroiled. It was good, just different. Imperial rolls are on par w most other places. Atmosphere - Located in a gas stations plaza, one the west side is a Wendy's, middle a 7-11 and them on the east end. Before they moved it was a Mexican restaurant that was totally redone. Food - The name of the place says Pho so you have to do the Pho. I had the #10, rare steak and well done flank, medium size. If there was any meat that was cooked rare it was hiding, closer to medium. The broth was solid. Service - Ordered at the register and they brought out the Pho. Wow! This place is dirty and has the worst service ever! I really wanted to give this place 1 star but the food isn't bad. Service -0. no greeting, when the server came up to take my order he just stares at you awkwardly without a word. Hmmm okay, guess I should order now. When they got us our food they just left it and took off without a word, no checking up on tables with extra napkins, water or tea. They also forgot our tea we had to remind them. No courtesy, no smiling, and of course no apology. Food 2- I was hungry so it didn't taste too bad but it was not great either. Atmosphere -0 dirty and I heard other customers were complaining that they found something in their bowl so the server took back that bowl to the kitchen. I didn't hear anyone apologizing or offering anything for the customer. And I found a strand of hair in my bowl as well. The sad thing was I was almost done with my food. I didn't want to bring it up to the server because it wouldn't make any difference and they probably wouldn't do anything about it based on what I saw. read more

Pretty decent Vietnamese food. I like that they have a huge condiment tray to adjust your liking if it is more sweet, savory and spicy. Their soups are good and the broth for pho has good flavor. I was a little disappointed with the Banh Mi that it didn't have enough pickled vegetables on it. Very skimpy and they do not put enough meat in their spring rolls. This place is a great place for lunch. I always get the barbecue pork with the noodles. The fish sauce which I normally am not a huge fan of is very flavorful it is sweet and tangy. The portions that's come with the plates that are ordered are big too definitely worth the money. The atmosphere is small but clean. I think the owner is a middle aged women who always greets me with a smile when I walk in and that is also what makes this place great. It's a bit ironic because it's called Asian Pho, but I have never tried any of their soups but my friends have, I can't speak for them but they seem to like it too. Their spring rolls are good too, just next time pack some more noodles in them! The peanut sauce with it is a mouthful of deliciousness. The worst chow fun I had in my entire life. Noddles was extremely over cooked that became mushy with no texture and breaks off easily. I miss my mom's cooking, the kind she did when I was young and living at home. Today, she takes too many shortcuts, and it's just not the same. And when I get a craving for that homemade goodness of my past, it's really hard to fill it here in Reno, even though the Vietnamese places seem to be plentiful and operated by Vietnamese owners and cooks. Some days I wish I could get an authentic banh mi or my most favorite, banh xao (Vietnamese crepe). Most days, a really good bowl of rare steak pho is what I'm after, and that was the case last night for dinner. My man was tired and wanted to stay home, so he asked me to get it to go. I did not see Michael T.'s review he posted just a few hours before my visit to the venue, not that it would have deterred me. I ordered two large rare steak pho and an order of Imperial rolls (deep fried egg rolls) to go (about $21 value after tax). Everything was packaged neatly and made for an easy ride home. When opening at the dinner table, I pulled out a bag of sliced jalapeno, wedge of lime, and a generous amount of bean sprouts and cilantro, a ramekin of hoisin and sriracha sauce, and a styrofoam container with the rare steak, onion mix, and noodles. A separate styrofoam container held the broth. I didn't think about additional condiments while I was there because I usually have sriracha, chili garlic paste, and hoisin sauce in my kitchen. I also had mint in my fridge, and just forgot about the thai basil. It would be great had those been included in my bag because they do come with the meal when you dine in. I'm not sure of the reasoning for excluding them from takeout orders. The egg rolls and the soup were really tasty and very fresh. I didn't get through all of my steak before I was full and passed my bowl to my hubby to finish. It was nice to not have to spend hours over the stove before or even minutes over the sink after for clean up. I enjoyed my meal and even more so my family time at the table. And I will most likely return when that craving hits me again. read more

2 stars, because I haven't actually had pho here. I picked up some spring rolls on my way out of town last week and they were not good. I noticed they were cheaper than any other place in town ($4), but there is a reason, they borrow the day old shredded lettuce from Subway on the other side of the 7-11 for them. They do have shrimp and pork in there, but no herbs that make a spring roll a spring roll, no mint or cilantro. i ended up throwing out most of it and won't be returning. I don't know what the previous reviewers are talking about when they talk about the low health inspection score... I'm not even sure if they know what they are talking about. Our friend who lives in Reno took us here, and I'm glad they did. I'm from San Jose and the Pho here was surprisingly very good for Reno. I was shocked that I could get a bowl this good out here. The broth was a bit oily but the quality of the meat and flavor was definitely on point! It's next to a 7-11 store! Never seen a Pho restaurant next to a gas station and 7-11 at the same time. The service wasn't super fast but I didn't mind it too much if the food was good. My friend ordered a side of egg rolls were were definitely underwhelming but you don't come to a Pho restaurant and order egg rolls... spring rolls maybe but not fried egg rolls. Anyhow, I got a large bowl with almost everything in it except beef balls. Never get beef balls in pho cause its just overly processed meat. Try this place if you are in Reno! There are a number of other Vietnamese and Pho restaurants I noticed in Reno but I don't know how they stack up. Ph is a soup with origins in early 20th century Vietnam, featuring thin rice noodles (vermicelli), vegetables, and thinly-sliced, charbroiled meats. Frequently, "ph" is printed "pho" because the character "" is uncommon outside of Vietnam. Non-Vietnamese mispronounce this as "foh", but the true pronunciation (akin to "phu-ah") can be difficult for westerners. Let's just go with "pho" and agree that it's delicious. Across the U.S., Vietnamese noodle shops have really taken off in recent years, with Reno no exception. Most include some Chinese and Japanese menu items, as does Asian Pho, an unassuming little spot located in the same building as a convenience store/gas station. When mentioned to a friend, she said, "I have a rule. I don't eat food prepared inside or next to a gas station." Normally I might agree, but this time she's missing out. Asian Pho is a true hidden gem, albeit one hiding in plain sight at a busy intersection. Like most noodle shops, the format here is fairly informal. Unless you're ordering take-out, just grab a couple menus from the counter and seat yourself at one of the numbered tables. When finished, tell the cashier the table number and pay on the way out. Simple, straight-forward, efficient. The service was fast & friendly, even though we had a few "lost in translation" moments. I recommend ordering with the menu's item numbers to avoid confusion. For starters we ordered Spring Rolls ($4.95), and Pot Stickers ($4.95). I'm generally more fond of the former than my wife, and she the latter. However, dipped in a decent peanut sauce, the balance of pork-shrimp-veggie flavors enveloped in moistened rice paper won her over. For me, I usually find pot stickers to be greasy, limp disappointments, but these were crisp, tasty, wonderfully-fried pork dumplings. They actually changed my mind about what this appetizer can be. Although there are chicken and seafood variations on pho, its mainstay is beef (in a variety of combinations). I ordered a medium serving of my favorite, featuring rare steak, well-done flank, tendon, and tripe ($6.50). Sadly, the kitchen was out of tendon (I'll grant you, an acquired taste), but the other ingredients were so good I hardly noticed. The broth was full of flavor, a perfect balance of savory, subtle seasonings. Some diners add one or more table sauces (soy, hoisin, hot chili paste, Sriracha, fish sauce) but I left that perfect broth alone. I did employ the traditional side items (bean sprouts, sweet basil, chili pepper, lime), and cilantro, which is the first time I've seen this included on a pho side plate. Once prepped for munching, the soup didn't stay in the bowl for long. My wife's favorite Asian soup is Wor Won Ton ($6.95), which is more Hong Kong than Vietnam. Wor Won Ton roughly translates as, "Won Ton Soup Deluxe," meaning it includes a bunch of veggies. Asian Pho's version is quite good, with so many pork dumplings my wife felt the need to remove a few in order to stay on diet. I didn't mind cleaning up the collateral damage, or sneaking a taste of perfectly-cooked shrimp and bok choy from her bowl. On a return visit I ordered another traditional favorite, Flame-Broiled Pork and Imperial Rolls served on a bed of cold vermicelli & lettuce, with vegetables, peanut garnish, and a lightly sweet "special sauce" ($8.50). I've always enjoyed this dish, but Asian Pho's rendition is among the best I've had. The Imperial (egg) rolls were quite good, cut into chunks you eat with the rest of the dish. Some noodle shops seriously overcook the pork, but the meat topping my dish was tender and crazy tasty. After two excellent meals at this gas station oasis, I think I'll become a regular. Not gonna lie, Asian restaurants will have bad to mediocre service and that's more normal in the Bay Area with the influx of Asian owned restaurants. That being said, the pho here is my favorite pho in all of Reno. I really enjoy their banh xeo that is only available on weekends. The pho is flavorful and they give you sooo much meat and noodles in your bowl for the price. A medium is definitely more than enough to fill me up but I can't resist a good banh xeo either. The banh xeo is superrr crispy. They definitely know how to make these but the ingredient preparation is a little time consuming for those who complain they run out or won't do it later. The actual making isn't that long and should be easy for them, but when they run low on shrimp/pork/other items in their dish, they probably only allocated so many. I also had their 3 bean dessert and their Vietnamese coffee. The dessert is good with the coconut milk, pretty typical in taste. The coffee is a bit sweeter but still strong. read more

I am excited that this place is just half a mile from my house. Pretty sure I could eat here every day. I've gotten takeout twice now and both times, it's been delicious. Tonight, she did not give me any basil but they did last time so I'm guessing she just forgot. It was still super good without it. The to-go pho (ah, poetry) only comes in a large which is HUUUUUGE. My husband and I have been going to this place for quite some time. Food was not always to our satisfactory but it's close to home. However.... Prices have definitely gone up lately and even to the extent of charging extra for take out. Which I think is ridiculous considering they have raised the prices on everything as is... Customer service is definitely out of the question. It's Nonexistent!! Downright rude and unfriendly. Presents a very unwelcoming feeling, I don't recommend this if your looking for dining in. When I arrived the lady was very rude and took her sweet time to get to me even though I placed an order for pick up and she saw me. The one things I do like about this place is the weekend special it has. That is the crepe. If you never heard of crepe, it's like pancake/omlette-Vietnamese version filled with chicken, bean sprouts. I decided to try out this new Vietnamese restaurant in town because my roommate thought it was a good place to get a bowl of Pho. He is vietnamese so I expected it to be so. I ordered the Large #3 which was a the Flank, Brisket, Tripe and Tendon noodle bowl. I noticed one good thing about this bowl of pho as it came out. The broth was mostly clear and it didn't have a lot of oil floating at the top. The taste of the broth was a light beef flavor just the right amount of sodium and spices. I had to help separate the rice noodles at the bottom due to a lot of clumping. The quality of the meat was ok. I did speak to one of the employees regarding if they used MSG since the broth had such a light taste. I'm not MSG sensitive but they did say they used a little bit with the pho broth. It's always a pleasure when you can find something delicious in a surprising place. You wouldn't think that a gas station could host some really amazing food. And yet, here it is. In the same place for gas, chips and corn dogs, there is this little alcove of a restaurant which contains some simply amazing Vietnamese food. I had heard about Asian Pho for a while, but only recently had the opportunity to stop by a couple of times. And man, am I glad I did. The menu isn't as big as other such places in town, but the selection is still really good and covers all the bases you'd expect. Pho, of course, and different appetizers like spring rolls, along with other various noodle and rice dishes. The soup is some of the best I've had in our area. I opted for tripe and tendon, my two favorite meats to have in pho, and I was extremely delighted, I can tell you. I should also recommend you look at their daily lunch specials and combo plates. The broiled pork with imperial roll or shrimp is way tasty, and very filling to boot. All their food is of great quality and they are lightning fast in preparing it. My pho was up after only a few minutes, and the daily specials are usually pre-made and ready to just grab and go. It's really great when you find a place that has their act down packed like this, which makes sense given the throngs of people from the surrounding industrial parks who flock here. Drinks are available, both regular sodas and some other selections like coconut water or Vietnamese iced coffee. And their prices are just amazing, as you can get a bowl of soup or dish of noodles for under $10. Good deal! There are a few tables to sit at, if you would rather dine-in. But whether you stay or grab a bite on the fly, keep in mind that this parking lot can be very hectic. It is located at the intersection of Longley and McCarran, with the lot shared among several businesses, and with tons of folks coming in and out for gas. So just be careful when looking for an available parking space. I'll admit, I very nearly gave this place three stars instead of four, simply because of their customer service. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad service or rudeness on their part. But they are very curt and taciturn. And at no point did anyone come check to see if I needed a drink refill, if I was doing alright, or even if I wanted the check. Now, I am willing to cut them some slack on this since, for one, as I mentioned above, they are wicked fast and efficient in getting their orders out, and secondly, I am a very dine-and-dash sort of guy anyway. But really the quality of the food let me feel alright letting the rating remain in the four-star range. If you are cruising around south Reno and need to find a spot for lunch, then you should for sure keep Asian Pho in mind. I want to give this place a chance but so far my two experiences haven't been exactly great. I've only ordered to go and haven't actually dined so that may be another story. But the first time, they were rather busy but I felt like there was no attempt whatsoever at customer service. Food was decent-I get their tofu vegetable spring roll and it's cheap but also rather bland. It's just tofu, lettuce, and some vermicelli. The second time, I called it in and they got my order wrong.
