I swear I've reviewed this before, but maybe it changed names? Anyway, it is a small hibachi place at the end of a strip near Kohl's. No dine-in, though the sign promises that. Not even any chairs at the counter inside. Oh, well, I'll take it home. Friendly service. The usual hibachi menu. I went with steak/shrimp/chicken. Got home and there was the standard massive portion, mostly rice, but still a lot of meat. The rice was very good, and probably very unhealthy. The steak was cooked a bit past the requested medium, but still tender, and tasty. The chicken and shrimp were also slightly overcooked, but again, still good. Very small portion of veggies, just cabbage and carrots. Pretty darn good, but I had hoped for sprouts and next time will pay extra for them and a bit more veggies, because I have to at least pretend to eat healthy. Prices feel a little high but are appropriate for this kind of food, with this quantity and quality. Spring for some more veggies, even at $1 per. Took a few minutes to make so order ahead if you are in a hurry, but really it was probably about 10 minutes so not bad. I'll be back. read more

We had two people in our party that have shellfish allergies. We came in to place a takeout order and asked them to avoid cross-contamination with allergens. We order this through door dash and it is always perfect every single time. They follow all the directions perfectly and the plates are STUFFED! One will feed two people for sure! The steak is always seasoned and cooked very well, their rice and appetizers are always filled with flavor and their yum yum sauce tastes so much better than any other I have tried! I love this place and will continue to order from them keep in mind the service is pretty fast too- around 7pm i put my order in and got it in 20 minutes 10/10 read more

This ginger monster struck our appetite again so we found our way back to Hibachi Express. Although the restaurant was empty there were a dozen carryout orders lined up at the grill. As always, our order was taken with a smile and an accurate wait time (quoted 20 minutes and it was ready in 15). Beverage selection was limited to 12oz cans of Coke, Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, Canada Dry ginger ale and 16.9oz bottles of water. I was really excited to try my first hibachi meal which didn't include singed eyebrows and leaving smelling like a restaurant. I wasn't disappointed! I was just a little bit surprised. When you read "express" you think instant. It took about 15 mins. I wish they had an option to order online. Maybe we've just become brainwashed by super fast food. The food was really good! I got steak and shrimp. Both proteins were cooked perfectly and were clearly of good quality. My 2 gripes are that they were out of egg yolk sauce ( my fave!! ) and the food definitely tasted of dirty grill. Such a small detail, but it stuck out to me. It certainly didn't ruin the experience, but there is some room for improvement. I will be back for round 2! read more

I had Hibachi Express a few weeks and I highly recommend ordering your food prior to going there. I ordered the food and it took over 20 minutes for it to be done which is reasonable but I was hungry. I ordered my food to go as there is no dine in option right now. I got the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp which had a lot of meat in it for the price. The food is worth the price but the reason I did not rate the restaurant higher is because the place was kind of gross inside and the rice was not the greatest. I probably would order again as the food was good but I am not sure if it would be anytime soon read more

I cannot speak highly enough of this place!! I no longer live in the area, but I still make the 25 minute drive whenever I'm in the mood for hibachi, because no other place compares! After I picked up my food today I had some car trouble in the parking lot. Two of the employees saw me struggling and came outside and fixed my bumper for me in the middle of the parking lot!! The food is mediocre. Nothing like the real Japanese steakhouses unfortunately. It wasn't necessarily "bad" but it was great either. The entrees tasted good and were decently portioned but the spring rolls and eggs rolls were awful. There isn't much I don't eat and I did not eat those, they were bad. Wife wanted some hibachi and wanted it fast so we ordered the steak/chicken combo. The staff was very friendly and thanked me for ordering as i was leaving. The serving size wasn't small but also wasn't overbearing with too much food. The steak was cooked perfectly medium and the chicken was cooked medium as well (just kidding) the chicken was perfectly cooked all the way through. I also got some crab Rangoon and it was delicious as well. Of course the yum yum sauce was delicious. If you near north Hamilton road, I would suggest stopping & eating here. read more

Very good experience. I was looking for something relatively quick, and a good meal for my budget. Woman taking the orders greeted me as soon as I walked in, and was extremely polite and pleasant! The menu is pretty straightforward. I ordered the hibachi steak, no cabbage (which it usually comes with), with mushrooms and bean sprouts which were a dollar extra each. The cook made everything fresh on the grill, and cook time was about 10 minutes - not bad at all. I went around 8:30pm so I can't speak to how quick it would be at a peak hour. I saw pics on Yelp as to about how much food there would be and I wasn't disappointed. I do wish there was a bit more steak - but for $10 plus a $3 tip it was well worth it. First, the good. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They specifically thanked me for the tip I added which was a nice acknowledgment. Not that I do it for the credit. It was just a nice touch of appreciation in a "to-go" type atmosphere. The restaurant was very clean. They have a cold water dispenser with cups for free cold water while you wait, or to have with your meal. There is ample seating and tables do not feel crammed in. There were quite a few people waiting for food when I arrived and it didn't feel overcrowded. All in all, a good atmosphere for a quick bite to eat. Now, the areas for improvement. The wait. I ordered my food with 3 people ahead of me and waited just over 20 minutes. When the order was placed there was no wait time given. I have been to several quick hibachi-style restaurants and have never waited more than 15 minutes (at the most) for food. Even when cooked to order. I noticed several people come in for pick up orders and the food was ready to go when they arrived. This will be the route I take next time. I ordered the Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp. It came with 7 good sized shrimp and a good portion of chicken. Along with that was a portion of fried cabbage and, what can only be described as, a mountain of fried rice. I was offered yum-yum or ginger dipping sauce and opted for both. While the portions were generous for the price ($12.99), the quality had the most room for improvement. The cabbage had very little flavor, so I skipped that one altogether (not a huge loss). The chicken was very overcooked. Not burnt. Just very dry. The glaze they use is a bit too sweet for my taste as well. The shrimp was also massively overcooked. It seemed like pre-cooked shrimp that was thrown on a griddle causing the shrimp to become tough and dry. The flavor, however, was really good! The mountain of rice was just ok. It was a bit smokey in flavor and with the sweetness of the chicken, it left an odd taste. The dipping sauces were also very sweet. I actually added soy sauce to the ginger sauce for some salt. All in all, not a horrible experience, but there is certainly room for gains in the area of quality. This is a long-established business in the area, so I know they are doing something right. This will not be my last time trying them out. I may just have to plan ahead to avoid the wait times and maybe expand to other menu items. read more

They're not like a typical hibachi grill like in NEW YORK but the food was good but I was unhappy with the way they prepared the food with no sanitary precautions. My father had a allergic reaction and was rushed to the hospital even though he ordered chicken and steak. He's allergic to seafood and that's what triggered it.
