From the outside and even the Google Maps photos, I honestly thought it would be a typical American-Chinese restaurant. Instead, I found a clean, efficient dim sum spot with surprisingly good food. The self-service concept worked really well. You order at the counter, pick up your own food, and there is no tipping. I actually like this system because at traditional dim sum restaurants you often spend more time waiting for carts or servers than eating. One thing that really impressed me was the cleanliness. The restaurant isn't newly renovated, but it's well maintained. After each table left, the staff cleaned with fresh sanitizing wipes instead of using the same cloth over and over. They also serve everything with disposable plates and utensils, which personally gives me more confidence than reusable tableware that isn't always cleaned thoroughly. The food was consistently good. The lotus leaf sticky rice was fragrant, the rice noodle roll with fried dough had a great texture, and the Teochew dumplings were generously filled. The standout dish was the stuffed trio. This is the only dim sum restaurant that offers dim sum and a full menu in fort lee. Hourly Parking is available on the street so it's recommended you park in a lot for dining here. Waiters were quick to seat us and offer hot tea. We arrived at noon for dim sum on a Friday and they had the push carts circling the dining room. But it was very slow to arrive at our table that we had no choice but to order food off the menu even though we requested the dim sum cart after receiving the tea. Food was hot and tasted good. Kids wanted rice rolls which were not on the cart so we had to order from the kitchen which mean it came out after a bit more waiting. If you're looking to satisfy your dim sum craving this place is great. They also have large tables for big groups. And they take reservations. read more

I only tried the chicken sticky rice, and it was pretty good. Prices are a bit higher than actual dim sum spots. But you're really paying for the convenience since there aren't a lot of dim sum options in the area. The only other one I think of nearby is the food court at 99 Ranch, and Dim Sum Station is definitely better than that. Will need to come back to try the classic dishes like ha gao, shumai, etc. but this should do if you are in a pinch. read more

I pass this place quite often, so when I needed a quick bite, I finally decided to check this place out. A few interesting things is that you have to order the exact dishes you want to eat, which is kind of hard to do because when you go to dimsum at a restaurant, you keep on ordering food until you get full. So, it was hard to gauge figuring out how much food I wanted to order. The food was just okay. The shrimp rice noodles ($6.95) and shrimp spring rolls ($6.95) were good. The black pepper short ribs ($7.95) were okay but just too greasy and dry because it was sitting in greasy sauce. We also ordered the snow pea leaf & shrimp dumplings ($6.95) but this didn't seem to have any shrimp in it at all. Very vegetable heavy, so it felt like a rip-off. And we also got the steamed seasonal vegetables ($8.95) but it was overcooked. I did like it that they did cut up the long vegetables but there were still super long pieces that was hard to eat. I gave this place a 3 out of 5 because the food wasn't bad, but it's not amazing enough to go back. I would rather go to a dimsum restaurant for better food and better dimsum experience. It is a traditional Chinese meal made up of small plates of dumplings and other snack dishes and is usually accompanied by tea.   I've decided to pay Dim Sum Station located on River Street in Hackensack after a year. Since there was no table service, this was setup a bit like a fast food establishment where one orders from the counter and waits until your number is called.   The menu comprised an assortment of seafood, meat, and vegetable dishes that are prepared in various ways: steamed, fried, or baked. Their selection was smaller compared to other restaurants I've visited in NYC.     Greeted by the staff, I decided on the Har Gaw and Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup. Har Gaw (shrimp dumpling) is one of the most popular dishes. These are chunks of shrimp encased in a thin, translucent dumpling wrapper and served in a plastic container. They were tender, chewy, and soft. The Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup has giant shrimp wontons filled with a generous quantity of shrimp that tasted fresh and succulent. The noodles were authentic Hong Kong style--springy and thin.   For dining in, every dish was served in plastic takeout containers. Prices can be a little expensive, and the service is always friendly. All forms of payment are accepted. There's a small parking lot available on the side and back, but suggest coming early and during the week. They take their food seriously while not so much the dining experience, which I continue to recommend. read more

This was a take out experience. Hard to find a dim sum spot in this area. So I was very happy to find this. We ordered most of the vegetarian/pescatarian options. Food was ready to go quickly. Service was smooth and easy. It definitely seemed face-paced and clean. The food was good enough. I would order from here again. Some of the shrimp dim sum wasn't as satisfying in taste (perhaps from being overcooked or a bit dry) and please peek in the bag to make sure you have enough sauce to your liking. Dim sum is the worse when the cover is too thick, and almost all of them are here. The shumai is probably the best one and the no-soup fried bun is the worst along with the soup dumpling lol. I've been saying I'm going to give this place a try for a while and so I finally did. I ordered a bunch of different things to eat there and take home; shrimp shumai, Cantonese befalls, pork soup dumplings and wonton noodle soup. Everything was pretty good however my biggest disappointment were the soup dumplings where there was absolutely no liquid in any of them. Service is self service however the workers are pleasant and they don't except tips. Please use This review to help improve the place. I would love this family business to succeed. The siu mai and beef balls the meat is over mixed so the bite is just mush almost pasty. The siu mai had a nice shrimp in it but too much additional fillers with it. The skin was too thick as well. The turnip cake was okay but kind of bland. I like the signs stating no tip needed - all built into the price, and they serve it on a tray in to-go containers already to save on washing anything up or people asking for things to go. Also tried the 2 Shrimp Siu Mai which was standard, and the Stewed Beef Tripe with Turnips was ok, fragrant. Overall good place for a snack, and will be back to try a few others. Great taste, reasonably priced, wide selection, fast, seating and parking. Each of these reasons alone should get you here, if not for the other reason being there is also nothing as good near by. The closest option is going to be either Fort Lee where the prices are moderately higher, 99 ranch where there quality is good but the selection is meagerly small, or an even smaller selection that is an afterthought on take out menus where the dumplings are tougher than hockey pucks. Most of the items are made to order and it's pretty quick. You can customize some items like adding fishballs to your noodle wonton soup. A lot of the dishes including the rib tips are taste as if they came off the carts in flushing restaurants. A wide assortment of classic dim sum selections. While the selection it is not as vast as a traditional dim sum cart restaurant, the taste is as close as you can get without having to pay for toll to cross a bridge. One of the things this area is lacking as far as Paramus is dim sum and I happened to drive past the small Dim Sum Station sign(which apparently happened to work because here we are). The prices are reasonable, especially when NYC dim sum prices are increasing and Fort Lee prices are nearing tourist trap prices. The no frills decor is pretty plain but with a number of seating booths you can enjoy your meal on the spot. read more

Love this spot! I went a few years ago and there weren't too many menu items at the time. Now they continue to add more items to the menu. We ordered noodles with beef brisket (without broth because it was pork broth). They provided sauces to compensate the no broth which I appreciate. The noddles were full of flavor and the brisket was good (would've been softer and better in a soup). We also ordered beef rice noodle (Chinese crepe), which was very good. Amazing experience. I had never had dim sum before, and this was a great introduction. I was told the food was traditional Chinese cuisine, and it absolutely lived up to that expectation. The owner was present and was a fantastic host, which really added to the overall experience. I truly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality of the food has gone down noticeably in recent months. I don't know if they changed the recipes or changed chefs, but the dim sum simply doesn't taste authentic anymore. No frills dim sum spot, order and pick up. Decent portions for the price. Shrimp rice roll comes with big juicy shrimp, and you get a mouthful of pork filling with the siu mai. Charsiu (bbq pork) puff pastry is buttery and flaky, and the pork isn't too fatty. While the Lo Bak Go (turnip cake) doesn't look too appetizing, the flavor is there! You can tell it's made with turnip instead of just loading it with flour. They have a sign up saying they don't accept tips. Would totally return. read more

I am shocked at how bad the food has become and from some of the updated reviews I'm now seeing, it unfortunately does not seem like it was just an off day... We traveled almost an hour to get a huge takeout order of dim sum based on our previous positive experience and I'm not sure if their recipes and quality of ingredients just went to 0 or if they somehow made fresh rotten/spoiled food. It was horrible and I spent the rest of the day in fear that I was going to have food poisoning. The shrimp rice noodle had fresh rice noodle but the shrimp had a spoiled taste and had the skin still on half of it and the sweet soy sauce that accompanied it was so spoiled, the layers had separated and it tasted like a sour sugar water. The fried shrimp balls and the pan fried dumplings were very sour - probably spoiled then fried. I would not recommend this place. read more

Great place with quick service. We will warned it would take 15 minutes to get our order but we had it in five at the most. I came here with my friend and my daughter, and all three of us loved the food. We ordered quite a variety of dim sum items, and wound up bringing a lot of it home because we over ordered. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, and the pork soup dumplings were delicious. My daughter loved the sticky rice in the lotus leaf. That's her go to when we go out for doing some, and she really loved it. I would definitely come back here. I will probably put this on my usual lunch rotation for takeout. Living in NYC I'm used to good- great dimsum from chinatown manhattan & flushing. In comparison this spot is good enough. So when visiting family in Bergen county this is our go to spot. At first i thought the price would be cheaper than Nyc dimsum but it is not. The servings are a tad bigger though. I like most of what we ordered, not so salty or so heavy with msg. The service is fast & the area is clean & the staff speaks English. ( not that it personally matters to me, language barrier doesn't stop me from getting my food) They have a few tables inside but we mostly order take out. FRESH and AUTHENTIC dim sum in Bergen County! My only hesitancy about trying Dim Sum Station was the pinch I was going to feel in my wallet after ordering. Dishes are about double in price here (approx. $6 each as of Feb. 2022), but, hey, when you don't have many options, and are desperate, you pay it! Plus, it saves you a trip to Manhattan's Chinatown, so consider it a "discount". The experience here is more of a stop and go type. It isn't huge, but there's a parking lot to the side and they surprisingly have ample booth seating inside. It's simple here - you order off of their menu and take it to your table like a fast food restaurant. The menu is rock solid legit like any Cantonese restaurant serving dim sum. Most of our favorites were on it, including the dessert ones like Coconut Pudding, Malaysian Sponge Cake, Sweet and Salty Egg Yolk Buns, and, even, Durian Puff Pastry! (I'm not a fan of the latter, but, I know many are). PLUS they also made a limited number of rice, noodle and congee dishes to boot. Although the dim sum is higher than we're used to in price, we found that the rice, noodle and congee dishes were much more comparable to NYC. There will be patrons eating inside, but you can also order online for pickup and there are no extra fees for that. We ended up ordering a hodgepodge of dim sum to try: Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling) Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai Chicken Feet in Chu Hou Sauce Sticky Rice with Pork in Wrapped Lotus Leaf Pan Fried Pork Dumplings Baked Roast Pork Buns Prawn Spring Rolls Pan Fried Turnip Cakes Coconut Pudding To sum it up, it was surprisingly as authentic as it gets. Flavors were all on point and everything was solid. Have we had better in NYC? Probably. BUT Dim Sum Station's dim sum was still really good. Honestly, we had nothing negative to say about any of the dishes as it was your typical dim sum. Unfortunately, dim sum options are scarce in Bergen County, hence you're going to feel it in your wallet when you pay, but if you're craving dim sum, Dim Sum Station definitely hits the spot! Finally got out to Hackensack to try this place to pick up some dim sum. Small "fast food" type atmosphere, booths to dine in or pick up to go. Everything was so yummy! I was impressed that even with having to drive 20 mins back home it stayed warm and delicious. I wish they came with some kind of dipping sauce, although I asked for it and the guy said it was inside, it was not. Luckily I own every Asian sauce and was able to make my own. Definitely family owned, and I love to support local, small business. I ordered 7 dishes (wonton noodle soup not pictured) for $47. Spare ribs could have probably come with a larger portion.
