We had to work on Sunday, so we had to order delivery at the office. We decided on this place based on me saying "you choose" (I'm not really picky, and I can eat almost anything without plantains), and my Bottomless Pit co-worker (who doesn't seem to be that picky, but still) saying "This one looks nice". I ordered a Shrimp Pad Thai, hotness level: Hot (they had an additional "Thai Hot" level, but I didn't want to risk it), and my co-worker got the Tofu Pad Thai with extra veggies and at Medium hotness level. Even though this was Coral Gables, which made the delivery guy get lost (I'm not faulting him, there's no GPS capable of dealing with the weird numbering of Douglas Road addresses), the food arrived in almost no-time (he called for directions) and it arrived at a nice and edible temperature. The delivery guy was very friendly, delivered fast, and didn't even wait, mention, or push for an additional tip (we tipped on the card). My Pad Thai was great, though the hotness level was closer to a medium than to a hot. My coworker made a similar comment about her medium feeling more like a mild... though I prefer them to err on the side of edible than on the side of crying, I'd still would have liked a bit more hotness. I also had ordered a Thai Iced Tea. To tell you the truth, it tasted... or more like felt, sort of how instant oatmeal used to when I was a kid, but with tea flavoring. Weird location which is why I didnt find it the 1st time I tried to go here. But then I did more research on yelp and found out it is in the same building as a pharmacy/convenience store. Price wise, I was expecting a few dollars cheaper on each item, but portions are good and taste is amazing. I got the chicken and cashews and chicken and (was it) volcano. They both come with white rice. I also added the lychee dessert which is pieces of lychee in a syrup. Overall A+. The quality and taste is definately more like sit down thai restaurants. You won't believe it until you see and taste this place. The food is amazing but it's not a typical restaurant. Inside this Kwikstop is a culinary delight. I was quite the skeptic but I was adventurous and gave it shot. The food is phenomenal. There just no denying these women cook up a storm. The food is fresh and authentic. It all to go orders no seating but you will not be disappointed. My favorite there is the Tom Yum Goong which is a cocnut broth with lemon grass mushrooms and shrimp. Yes - it really IS inside the Kwik Stop. That being said, I've always ordered takeout from this spot, so I can't comment on how it looks like, only on the food. And oh God, the food is great. They have one of the better Tom Kha Gai around, with lots of noodles and bamboo shoots inside, and if you are a heat lover like myself, this is one of the places that if you ask for your food to be Thai hot - it WILL be incredibly spicy. The red curry is pretty good too! The Thai donuts taste pretty good, as usual served with condensed milk. They give out a lot of them! Definitely not a dine in dinner date spot. Located inside of a Kwik Mart, this restaurant does not have any seating or even outdoor seating. Definitely the kind of place where you will want to order ahead, pick up, and head home to watch Netflix and have dinner in front of the TV. That being said, the food is AMAZING. Completely authentic thai, with a tad of Colombian, sushi, and ceviche all in one place. EVERYTHING is good. I work in the area so I frequent this place for lunch and order through Yelp almost every time. Let me tell you, it is PACKED at lunch, with a line and different people in and out who are picking up their orders. This is telling of how great the food is here. My go to's are drunken noodles, noodle soups, dumplings, and the fried krab. I love it all. Asian food is one of my favorite cuisines (after my favorite main food group of pizza of course), and I cannot get over how great this place is. The food definitely warrants the five stars in this review. About the take out--the food is always kept warm and packaged very well and tight. I can appreciate this because it's about a third of a mile walk back to my office, and nobody wants their food to get cold! Same goes for orders from Uber Eats and other delivery services. The most unassuming takeout spot in all of Miami. This delicious Thai/Sushi spot is inside the Kwik Mart on Grand Ave... yes, you read that right. I found Asian Thai Kitchen by accident one day while picking up something from Kwik Mart, and after smelling the food, and reading a few Yelp reviews I was sold. They have an extensive menu of Thai food-- soups, classic rice/noodle dishes, curries, and even mango sticky rice, and they also have sushi... win. win. win. Everything is made fresh and comes out piping hot. Their Tom Yum Gai soup is my go-to when I'm sick. Why? For the flavorful broth, generous amount of chicken, and brightness from the lemongrass and cilantro. Otherwise I like to order a dragon roll when I am too lazy to make lunch. The prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. Don't let the convenience store deter you, ATK is top notch. If you know, you know. This is one of my favorite spots in Coconut Grove. It's low-key and the food is consistently good. Pad Thai is my favorite dish.. ever. So I was hesitant to try it from a restaurant inside a Kwik-Stop. I take one star away because sometimes I wish there was a little more peanut flavor in there but nothing a little added peanut butter can't fix. Not bad at all. Great little find inside a quicky mart in Coconut Grove, i think it adds to the whole experience. Its kinda hidden in a corner but you can't miss it. I went ahead and ordered the tofu Pad Thai, is is my gauge for all Thai restaurants...I was pretty good! Loaded with veggies and crispy tofu! A bit on the sweet side, maybe a tad to sweet for my liking but it had a nice spice punch to it and the crisp veggies rounded the flavors off nicely. While me and my co-workers pondered on what to get for lunch one afternoon, I was yelping around and came across this gem. I recognized the name before because I saw it listed as number one on the Miami New Times "best curry in Miami", so I instantly became excited. Side note, I kind of pride myself on showing people who never tried Thai food my obsession with red curry. Happy to say the people I shown at the office loved the food here and crave it at least once a week! ATK is one of the hole in a wall kind, that makes it a little bit more memorable in my opinion. Located inside the kwik-e-mart, (next to the Subway and Last Carrot) lies Asian Thai Kitchen. My co-workers and I ordered pick up for their fried kani, red curry, pad thai, spring rolls, and mango sticky rice. Seriously one of the best curries I ever had. I am not crazy about pad thai usually, but this one was delicious! They make it super easy to order delivery/pick-up with Grub Hub and Yelp ordering. What a nice surprise: authentic, first rate Thai food in the back of a dumpy Quik Stop. I found this one on Yelp out of necessity (we're enduring a kitchen renovation), and I'm very happy I did, as all three dishes we took out were super: great Pad Thai, awesome Thai Basil, and a great Thai Beef Salad, too. This is a take-away counter whose food quality vastly surpasses its humble, shoddy surroundings. So if you can look beyond life's rich pageant of characters who may pass by (the occasional drunk, some stragglers, too), this is a super find for quick Thai food to go, though I would take care to keep eyes open in the lot and the space generally. This is certainly not a spot from the cookie-cutter Pei Wei diner mold, and broadly, it's probably the best Thai I've had in nine years in Miami, too. And, given the perennial openings and closings of poorer quality and much pricier restaurants just a block away on Commodore Plaza, there's certainly a lesson here: great, reasonably priced food will bring in lines of people, even if the surroundings are a bit dodgy. A home run?: Seeing this superb Thai food counter land in a nicer, cleaner spot in the Grove in the future. That may be wishful thinking. I get food from ATK2 on occasion and it's always reliable. I was closer to this ATK today and decided to pick up some food. Multiple problems: 1. it was ready 20 minutes later than promised. 2. Someone must have dumped an entire cup of salt into all of the food. The curry was salty and grainy, the chicken basil completely overcooked and even the pineapples were salty, and the chicken pad see ew was so salty that it was completely inedible and I threw it out after one bite. read more

I called them up and asked what vegetarian plates they had: unfortunately it was only two, the veggie fried rice without egg and the Volcano with veggie or tofu and veggie. I ordered the Volcano with tofu... Hot. It was fried tofu with some crunchy veggies in a Thai sweet chili sauce. It was tasty maybe a little too sweet for me, it could have been hotter. Also I like my veggies a little more cooked. Next time I'm going to try the eggless fried rice. It would be nice if they made some of their other dishes that seem vegetarian without the fish sauce. But don't let it fool you, the food is legit. Most orders are to go but I think they do have 1 or 2 tables that you can eat. The food does not disappoint. Full of flavor and favorable portions. This is our go-to place for Thai delivery. It's really good and fast. We typically get the pad Thai, basil fried rice, spring rolls, wonton soup and occasionally a curry. The pad thai is pretty good for takeout. Its not like getting it fresh in Thailand, but it is definitely good! The basil fried rice has a really pleasant sweetness to it. I wouldn't recommend getting pork with any of the entrees because it's cut like the chicken, in flat chunks. This causes it to be a bit tough. The menu is very expansive, and you can order sushi, as well as duck. They will make it hot if you ask. I have never visited the store, so I cannot comment on that part of it. read more

So if you're freaked out by the idea of getting shrimp from a convenience store, I get it. But think about this --you love those food trucks right all over town? You eat from a truck, but you won't eat here? C'mon. It's the same concept. Minimal setup in a small space, dishing out awesome food. The Pad See Ew (I like the shrimp) is my go-to. It's a slightly more "advanced" dish if you usually go for Pad Thai. More savory, broad noodles, more veggies. Fried rice is excellent. Spring rolls are solid. The first time I walked into the convenience store off of Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove, I was a little put off by the fact that they were serving hot asian food next to glass pipes. But after eating here a number of times after a friend recommended, I must say that I judged this book by its cover. This is our go-to spot when we're craving asian and don't want to leave the house. We love the drunken noodles and the pad thai. Never had drunken noodles anywhere else; they're like a thicker, softer spaghetti in a flavorful sauce with other bits (like they've absorbed liquid--hence the name). One down side is that they have a pretty high minimum if you are ordering delivery (I think it's $30 or $35). The employees and management are pleasant, and I've received 20% off of my food when it was delivered late once. I would still put Lung Yai Thai Tapas at the top of my thai food list in Miami, but this place lets you enjoy from home for slightly less money. read more

When my husband came home with the wrong order I called to let the restaurant know and I was met with a lot of attitude and asked "what do you want, not to pay for the order? I told them i had received the wrong order and I did not want to pay for something I didn't order, plus I had been charged twice. There's was no excuse and a lot of bad attitude and they said, fine, we will refund your order but you are no longer welcome to order from us. Terrible service that needs serious work.
