We came on a hot Monday afternoon as a party of 2 looking to get a quick bite in the area. Really didn't expect to find this little gem! We ordered the shrimp scampi and pad Thai, both which came out pretty quick upon ordering. The scampi was amazing, the stir fried shrimp was placed neatly on top of the fried rice (fried with coconut milk apparently) and all glazed with their special sauce - the flavor was phenomenal. They really nailed down the Thai essence in this dish and maybe it was the heat but I almost thought I was on the other side of the world for a hot second while eating this dish. I just wished there was more on the plate! The pad Thai we thought would be some good comfort food, but boy was it more than that. At first sight it looks like normal pad thai but then on first bite you realize they ever so slightly undercooked the noodles so they were as if just under-al dente. Whether intentional or not this small detail blew my mind and really changed my perspective on pad thai. Very pretty venue, we choose to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Friendly staff and they were helpful with gluten free options. Food was good, not amazing but good. I was very pleased with this sushi spot on Key Biscayne. I loved that they have one riceless roll that was so delicious. It's in the appetizer section. It's called Kanisu. Then I had the tuna ceviche and they provided slice cucumber instead of chips. Both were very fresh and really good. Here's the slight negative. When we were seated we were told that the kitchen was closing in five minutes. We ordered very quickly. However the food was brought out unevenly so two of us were almost finished before the sushi rolls were brought out. Also no water refill. This upscale looking bistro in the heart of Key Biscayne looks much more expensive than what it is. We were so pleasantly surprised the first time we checked it out and have been coming back since. Their lunch menu is a VERY filling amount of food for about $10. Parking is available and easy in a shopping plaza next to the place. On a Saturday around noon there were no crowds and good service. I've had the Pad Thai, Thai Fajitas, and Spicy Thai Wraps here. All have been delicious and very filling. The portions are good - if you are not too hungry you can share them. Service was prompt and good, refilling our water and helping us with any extra requests we had - soy sauce, peanut sauce, etc. The outside Seating is really very pleasant, a mix of shade and sunshine in the heart of Key Biscayne. read more

This is a hidden gem in a very expensive area of Miami. I've visited several times for lunch. The lunch menu has a variety of options and the prices are amazing. Most lunch combo are between 9-13$ and they are very filling. These prices are hard to come by in the heart of key Biscayne. The food is delicious and will definitely return to try new items. The lunch special comes with salad, two dumplings and a main dish. Side dishes, if ordered, come in big shareable portions. Sushi and noodles = 5 Stars. Service = 3. Here's why... Tucked away in a small shopping mall is this sweet little sushi spot. We got sat right away but the waitress was a little awkward. She had this off putting - deadpan expression that didn't sit well. She spoke good english so I don't think it was a language barrier thing but felt more like an "I-dont-wanna-be-here," emotion. Anyways, we shrugged it off and read over the menu, and ordered some sake. The sake was brought over and no lie, as soon as I poured it and sat it down, I accidentally bumped my glass over and spilled my sake on the table... UGH! We asked the waitress if we could get some napkins but she just kind of stood there and stared... "... sooo can we get some napkins or move tables??..." She let us move tables but then we just felt more awkward. Okay okay enough of the awkward. The menu has a mind numbing amount of food items; There's noodles, sushi, pho, rice, curry, tacos, tempura... ALOT of different items. We started by ordering an appetizer of fried calamari, which was perfectly crispy but not too greasy. For dinner, I can't turn down a good plate of Singapore noodles and of course we also ordered sushi. The singapore noodles were SOOO dang good. I'm talking, a perfect balance between the amount of noodles, meat and veggies. Sushi-wise, I ordered Tuna and Yellowtail nigiri which was skillfully cut to the right size, it was tender and the flavor was clean and sweet. Then we had the Dragon roll, Spicy Crunch roll, and awesome Origin Roll. Presentation of all these items looked so cool and appetizing! Definitely a 5 star flavor and presentation experience. My first experience with Sush was a disaster. My buddy took me to a spot up here in Dayton, Ohio and I did NOT set well with me. That was back in 2004. I said I'd never eat this crap again. Everyone kept saying "give it another chance".. "your buddy took you to a crappy spot".. "are you sure you were eating it the way it's supposed to be eaten".. and blah blah blah.. My girl is a MERP student at Ross, and on a tight budget but she sprung me to experience Origin, knowing how apprehensive I was about it. Thank you baby! She was very patient and helpful explaining what was what (I don't eat swine or shellfish) and how to eat it. The stuff I do actually eat - yeah buddy, I SMASHED IT.
