We placed an order online through asianwoklynnwoodwa.com and received a confirmation email with our order details after payment. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were informed that no order had been received. We were treated poorly at first because they thought we were a food delivery driver, and only slightly changed their demeanor when they found that we were the actual customer. They then blamed the third party, called Menufy, and were unwilling to contact them on our behalf and refused to assist us any further. We have been long time customers of Asian Wok and are extremely disappointed their disrespectful and unhelpful service. We left with no food and a problem to solve. read more

Well, this place is in need of a lot of work. Reviews here are not real strong, but after Johnny's up the street was closed without notice, we ended up here, because we were starved. The service was slow and as many report, not friendly. At one point we interrupted our server to add an item to our meal and she acted like we woke her up out of her sleep to ask a silly question. For my meal, it was lunch. The Hot and Sour soup, was plenty sour, but not hot. It was also so think, it was like jelly. I added soy sauce, but it needed a lot more chicken stock to make the broth rich like I'm used to. The portion on the lunch was much larger than expected meaning it was larger than most places I've been to. The beef was basically average and came with two small scoops of rice which basically becomes a single scoop. We added potstickers and this was the real disappointment, pictures online show traditional homemade potstickers, but we were served frozen potstickers that were deep fried. The flavor and texture were terrible and at $11 it was overpriced; cause any teriyaki shop sells the same for $7. We didn't plan to end up here, but we did and this place proved why it was empty and why they have an attitude. If you can't do better, you should consider closing. read more

The waitress was not friendly! I ordered the Mongolian beef and requested no rice noodles. And was told by the waitress for the first time EVER that it was NOT possible to leave them out......WTF? Rice noodles are the first thing sprinkled on the plate. I've been to many Asian restaurants, and have never had any issues holding the rice noodles. Due to this incident, we probably won't be back. The value is very good for this type of restaurant (especially during the lunch special), the serving sizes are more than enough, etc. I love their lemon chicken - most restaurants don't offer this (or if they do, it's too sweet). I usually order this along with some hot and sour soup - which is the best I've ever had. I mostly take out, but for dining in, their waitstaff is pretty nice, they know English well enough and the tea is very pleasant (again, better than most Chinese restaurants). You can tell the chefs really want to create a good quality plate of food, the place seems to be ran very well, it has a nice, calm atmosphere, and I would recommend anyone come have a meal here. You know the places that try to get all fancy and they never seem to get the flavor of a dish right? Like they'll make a meatloaf and dump cinnamon on it to call it gourmet. At Asian Wok, the almond fried chicken will taste like almond fried chicken. The sweet and sour prawns will taste like swet and sour prawns. The pork fried rice will taste like... pork fried rice. The people are great, the service is fast and the facilities are clean. It's even got a fish tank with giant koi. Who could ask for more? This place has quickly become our family favorite go-to! The most I've had to wait was about 30 minutes which is great. For pick up, they have a wonderful Covid pick up situation. And they have been dependability delicious and generous with their servings! My family enjoys American-style chinese food. We're not picky, and we expected to like this place. We did not. We ordered two standard dishes, and our kids basically rejected both. Adults ate them but with no joy -- these were blah, as if cooked by an annoyed chef who was a decade past quitting. White rice was not listed on the menu, but turned out to cost an additional $3.50 per portion. Highest we've seen anywhere in the country. Doesn't feel right for them to charge extra, at such a high price ,and not even put that on the menu. Definitely won't go back, no matter what. read more

We had planned to do dinner & a movie in Lynnwood (coming from Lake Stevens) and I had insisted we use one of our Entertainment coupons since they are about to expire. We went a bit out of our way for this dining experience but luckily we were weren't disappointed. Both the hubby and I ordered the combo meals - grouped together with option like S&S Chicken, Mongolian beef, rice, egg roll & soup. I asked to switch out the egg drop with the dumpling one and it came with two which was a nice surprise. They didn't charge me for the change either which was another nice surprise. Our meals came quick, hot and delicious! I agree with other posters about there being too much sauce but the flavors, portions & quality was terrific. The service was a bit hit and miss but once they arrived they were super friendly and we quickly forgot about it. For $14 (including tax & tip) we enjoyed dinner out for two. The majority of the restaurants are very Americanized and range all over the place in quality. I have been pleasantly surprised for years with Asian Wok in Lynnwood, which is not only not too far from where I live but also serves up a great brand of Americanized Chinese food. I have eaten in the restaurant once many years ago, but I almost exclusively pick up take out for dinner at home. I generally call ahead, minimizing my wait once I arrive for pick up, though even if I order in the restaurant the food tends to come out fairly quickly. I usually order 2 dishes: House Special Fried Rice and Broccoli Prawns. The House Special Fried Rice is their normal fried rice with vegetables, but overloaded with chicken, pork, and shrimp. It is always hot and fresh tasting, and as far as fried rice goes I haven't had much better other places. The Broccoli Prawns has massive fresh prawns, loads of broccoli, and a few other veggies (e.g. baby corn) and a garlic white sauce. Much like the rice it is always super hot and fresh, and I am always amazed by the freshness of the veggies and meats in the entrees. It seems like people occasionally complain about the service, but I have never personally had a problem with it. The prices are reasonable, particularly once you factor in how large the portions are. Even better is that you get a free order of fried crab rangoons on any take out order greater than $20, and you will easily hit $20 if you order 2 entrees. Asian Wok comes highly recommended for Chinese takeout. read more

Pretty good food for being out side the Seattle area and in a strip mall. Prawns in black bean sauce was nicely cooked with a variety of vegetables. I asked for 2 stars of heat. It was just right. Would have thought that the black beans would have made it salty, but it was not. We also ordered broccoli with garlic sauce. This was also ordered as a 2 star dish. Quick! Use that old Entertainment Book coupon before it expires this year! This place is in it, and it ain't half bad. My dad, the ultimate Frugal Jew, and I were flipping through our Coupon Torah looking for a budget-friendly place to "bond" over dinner (in other words, Mum's at church and too busy to cook dinner). We picked this place out of a craving for greasy goodness. They only had a couple servers on shift, with about 8 tables split between them, so I didn't mind the urgency of service. Also, the language barrier slowed things down a little. But our young male server was friendly and respectful, so who cares? We're the ones speaking the wrong language! He brought us free tea promptly and refilled it ASAP. Right on, man. Dad and I ordered sweet and sour soup (for me), won-ton soup (for him), the shrimp with lobster sauce, and the honey walnut pork (holy crap...i THINK it was pork....yeah). My soup was far better than his, which tasted like water with 2 dumplings. The dishes were as greasy as expected, and more than enough to split between two hungry Jews (who eat pork, so you can shut the hell up), and satisfaction was achieved. If you're going North on Hwy 99, take a left on 196th and drive till you get to an intersection with a little strip mall on your right. That's where it is. Like I said we used to go in for lunch time and we were amazed with their lunch specials from square one: choice of soups (egg flower, my personal fav or hot & sour, his fav), a huge HEAPING portion of an entre (pretty much ANY/EVERYTHING on the menu), and a choice of spring roll or a chicken wing. With a tip, we usually get out for around $20. YES, $20 for two and you get all that! Unfortunately our Chinese food lunches had to come to an end when I took a new job so we decided to make our tradition into Chinese food DINNERS.. Thinking it may be a little more expensive and probably NO dinner special which could even compare to the lunch.. But no we were wrong. Dinner there is just as great if not better! For 1, its less packed. 2, you get enough food you can share and since we'd already been coming in for months, they allowed me to get the entre I always got for lunch before, at the same dinner price!! They're absolutely amazing - They always remember us and though it's not the best looking place in the world, they food, prices & service constantly amaze us! All in all, the Asian Wok looks like your average, run of the mill Chinese food restaurant complete with bamboo plants, koi swimming around and a smiling Buddha with his tummy to rub on the way out.
