This place is so delicious, I am so happy to have found such a delicious dim sum place. Definitely a must try if you like Asian food. I ordered a few different things any everything I ate was delicious! My favorite is the Shu Mai, second the juicy soup dumplings. The staff was delightful, I was greeted when I walked in and was checked on many time to make sure I was happy with everything! The atmosphere was chill, very pleasant and friendly. The worst dim sum ever. The food was not good. As an Asian/Chinese and I'm a foodie. I traveled from North to South Cali for good food; I knew how a good dim sum dish should be. We ordered the roasted duck and the smell was terrible because it was microwaved before it was brought to our table. Ordered food here on Uber eats and was underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. The bbq pork bao buns were the best thing out of what I ordered , but it was more of the boa bun than the BBQ pork filling so it was a little dry. the teriyaki chicken was chewy , & a very small portion for $10, the pork dumplings were a bit greasy and lacked flavor, the crab Rangoons had little to no crab inside, and the BBQ pork ribs actually scared me because ive never seen any kind of meat like this... 2 Stars is being generous. The restaurant was empty at 2 pm on a Saturday maybe this is why. Food was mediocre except the sweet and sour Shrimp (lunch special) that was good! Pork shumai was not good. They had something called the rock shrimp? That was not good it left a bad aftertaste. Worst part was the service. Waiter would disappear, then when we paid, he gave us too much change back, realized it, took it back, then didn't come back with the correct change. Came here for lunch. Service was good- not hovering, but not absent either. We ordered some dim sum and a rainbow roll. The dishes didn't all come out at once, but at a nice consistent pace so we could enjoy the meal in a relaxing fashion. The quality and taste of the food was good- not great, but not bad either. I really like the fact that ASIE is trying to put out some Cantonese food on the Santa Barbara map. Perhaps it is the fact that I am Cantonese so I have significantly higher standards for Dim Sum, but this set of dishes is just not up to par. On the bright side, the ambience is really calming and the service is great. While their dim sum is lacking, perhaps their other food is better. Here's my reviews on their Dim Sum: Shrimp Cheung Fun - Unfortunately, this rice noodle dish needs significant improvement. Not only does the frozen cheung fun you can buy taste better but also the noodle is so chewy its like you're trying to engulf a mouthful of chewing gum. The batter needs to be a lot thinner, use less glutinous rice flour, and the soy sauce needs sugar. The shrimp is well seasoned and tender though. Spinach Dumpling - Sorry, but unfortunately this is another rough one. The filling of this dumpling is pure spinach, and the spinach has nothing wrong except the poor seasoning. However, a dumpling with pure spinach does not work because all you have is a mushy bundle of leafage once you squeeze the water out. Additionally, the skin is thick, bland, and wrapped poorly. In addition to some improvement in mastering dumpling wrapping, this dumpling also need some grounding substance for the filling to go with the spinach, among some necessary seasoning adjustments. Bean Curd Roll - The last of my ASIE reviews, and unfortunately, this dish is not good either. The rolls are poorly wrapped, almost hollow, and need significantly more filling, vegetarian or pork-based. The sauce is like a thin soy, but needs to be a thick gravy with more mushroom flavor and less soy. The only saving grace for this dish is the garlic on top, which is an interesting spin to the dish. read more

When we got there it was completely dead, which we thought it was a good thing! but soon realize why it was dead. My friend order some dish and they change their mind on the order, as well told the server to not cook the order since they was still deciding. When the server came back my friend tried to change their order but the server told them it was already being cooked. This made my friend uncomfortable and not trying to be rude still took the order they did not want. I got the duck ramen and it was only 2 pieces of duck with a lot of bone. Was tasty. So that's why it gets the extra star. (From 0 to 1) Bbq Bao was okay as well, not very filling. But the service wasn't professional since my friend was pressure to still order a dish and pay due for the dish that was already being cooked. (Like why place the order in the kitchen when the customer told you to not do so because they're still deciding?!?) I would give this place a 0 if I could. First off, the cup I was served with lemonade was DIRTY, as seen in the picture below, and was clearly unwashed. There were also a cart of dirty dishes out in the open. I was so excited for the soup dumplings, but when we got them, they were just not good. They were slimy, hard to chew, and not tasty. I rarely leave a low star rating but some just doesn't seem up to par. First off, location wise is great. Right in the heart of Santa Barbara on state street. Which means, it's a big tourist trap. Also caters to a good amount of college kids. Like I mentioned earlier, they served dim sum all day so I had to give it a try. Food, was just ok. Seemed basically frozen and then warmed up. The ramen was a another issue. I understand some people like their noodles al dente but even sitting in the broth, it did not seem to soften up at all. The other dishes was just ok. Anyways, we ordered chili wontons, duck ramen, miso soup, and an order of beef dumplings. Nothing stood out and the food that was served was not what we expected. For started, the chili "wontons" were not even wontons. Instead they were fat dumplings with a mysterious filling and numbing chili oil. Beef wontons were small and slippery, not the best flavor. The soups were definitely the winners of this meal. Miso soup was good and my boyfriend liked his duck ramen enough. We have had better for sure. The best thing about this restaurant was definitely the service. The workers were really nice and attentive. They came around many times to ask if we need refills, check in on us, and even give us some chili oil. It makes me sad to give such a low review but the food just wasn't cutting it. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the dumpling had almost like a soup texture inside. Ate outside in outdoor seating for my first time dining at a restaurant in 4 months. The service was decent. They brought out hand sanitizer when asked so that was nice. The food-the green beans and lettuce cups were very very good. But the steamed spinach dumplings and shrimp rice rolls were terrible. They tasted like they steamed store bought frozen versions. For the chili oil wontons, they brought out chili oil dumplings, which in my opinion is not an acceptable substitution for a chinese restaurant. Only people who dont eat chinese food often would think dumplings and wontons are similar. They also completely forgot one of our dishes, despite it being a very short list of things we ordered, and we had to ask for it. This is the first genuinely authentic dumpling house I've ever been to, and I will be back again very soon. After grabbing lunch at a place nearby I saw this dumpling house and decided to order to go. I ordered the Shrimp Dumplings for myself and some Juicy Soup Dumplings for my partner, and some mango mochi ice cream for my sister. To no surprise at all, we were all very happy with what we ordered and our only regret was not dining it to enjoy the full experience. The sushi is about that standard price as anywhere else, but the dumplings were very cheap in my opinion but incredibly light, filled with flavor, and savory. The service was really quick and kind. And the interior of the restaurant was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, and I will come back to enjoy some more of their options. PS: I think people review this place too harshly, this isn't a Michelin star restaurant, this is a INCREDIBLY reasonably priced authentic asian food!
