This guy was 3 hours late. He told me he was gonna come over at 3pm dint get to my house till 6pm. When he got to my house he was sweating. No shoe covers. He walk in to my carpet with out a shoe cover. Told me that to fix my ac is about $11,000. As the day came, i never got a call, so i called and asked if he was still going to come because he never called for my address. If I could give a one start I would.. these people lied about how much we paied for our new AC .. mind you we have been having problems for a while and called these people because they were a family friend .. they never would respond to our calls once he touched the unit at our house he would say he's call us back but NEVER did .. EVERY-TIME he came he would want money .. like if your as good as you say why not guarantee your work ??? I've seen reviews of this man Alfredo from another company and honestly I should have trusted it .. he likes to make repairs that don't need it and charge you a ton of money .. if you didn't know how to fix our AC or don't know what your doing just say that . I was contacted within 15 minutes at 5:45 PM by the owner of ASM and he was at our home within an hour. I called them in the morning and they were at my house earlier than planned, today June 7 2021. I talked with Mauriceo and he said someone would be here between 1 to 2PM. They showed up at 11:30 which freed a good part of my afternoon. I used this company back in Dec. 2020 because my furnace quit working. They quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the bad control board. The furnace has never worked better. The later part of May 2021 when the weather was hot I turned my AC on and it worked for about two hours and stopped. I suspected the control board might have blown again but instead a fuse. The repair took about five minutes and everything is working again. Would I used them again? Yes. Good service means a lot to me. read more

The issue is that for that $75 I had to show him how to light the pilot on my heater, and then he explained that it would be $500 to clean the heater to get it working again. And that was it! I had PG&E out to light my pilot on my furnace but after it was lit the PG&E serviceman couldn't get the furnace to start. He recommended I get service for the furnace. It is July, and a couple days later I wanted to use the A/C but it too, wasn't working. I then called ASM and told them of my situation. Alfredo and a woman came out to service it. I told Alfredo I wanted the A/C to be fixed, but he looked at the furnace and thermostat and never looked at the A/C. He said the furnace and A/C are connected and because my furnace was so old they couldn't get parts. He said he'd check for parts but I knew when he said it, it wasn't likely because he mentioned how old it was several times. So, I spent $75 for a service call that left me nothing. There was no attempt to check the A/C, there was no follow-up about parts, nothing. I knew the furnace is old but others who've serviced it in the past year or so have found the burners and such to be in good condition. As he was leaving Alfredo said "OK" as he was headed for the door. He was apparently not going to charge me but then when I asked if I owed him, he stopped and changed his mind and said $75! I think he knew he was taking advantage and when I asked about it, he couldn't resist. Later, I had another serviceman check the system and he said I'd lost all my refrigerant in the A/C. Since I had two different responses from servicemen, to verify, I called a third serviceman and was told I was out of refrigerant again, so now I know the refrigerant is gone. The last two servicemen both offered to fix it or install a new system, in which case my service charge would be applied to the cost of a new system or repair. If Alfredo had checked it out I would have known the problem and could have saved 2 other service calls and/or possibly purchased a new system from ASM. As it was, I ended up paying for three service calls because the first one was worthless. Had Alfredo looked at the A/C and told me the problem in the first place I could have saved the price of two service calls. He left me with nothing but took my money anyway. I feel gypped! read more

Alfredo is a gentleman. He does what he says he will do and follows up to correct any problems that show up after he does his work. He installed a new thermostat in my house. Unfortunately the new thermostat did not accurately sense the ambient temperature. This problem showed up a day after he installed it. I contacted Alfredo about the defective thermostat. ACM called me back and had a repair person out to my house in 45 minutes. We are very pleased with our furnace repair. Alfredo returned my call the same day, shortly after I sent out a request for estimates on Yelp, and was also able to do our repair on-site- I was worried we'd wind up waiting until December. He explained what he was doing, and wore a mask for Covid precautions, and quoted us a fair price before proceeding with work, with a warranty. AC was not working and the technician did come out in a timely manner, but the technician failed to adequately identify the problem. The tech replaced a capacitor before receiving authorization from me and charged me a few hundred dollars for labor (took 5 minutes) to install a $20-$30 part and then recharged the system claiming there were no leaks. When he failed to fix the problem, the same tech came back out and said the freon was leaking and the compressor was bad and had to replace the whole thing. He said he would refund/credit me for the money from the failed repair, but said he would provide a quote to replace the whole unit at a good price. When I decided to go with another company, they declined to provide a refund prompting me to dispute the transaction with my credit card company. Perhaps I just got a bad technician, but I would look for other HVAC contractors if you are having problem. read more

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! They are complete CROOKS & CHEATS. They worked on my HVAC unit at my condo in San Francisco. They charged me well over $1400 to fix the cooling issue, only to mess up the heating. They claim their work is under warranty. That's a complete lie. I asked them to revisit my condo to check the new problem which started after their visit, and they sent me a new estimate of $1750. The warranty was completely ignored. I eventually opted for another company, a much more renowned and reviews one, and they fixed the issue for $700. And they confirmed that the previous guys (ASM Mechanical Services) had screwed up big time. When I confronted them about this and requested and explanation, they completely ignored my messages. You will regret going with these guys. They are completely unprofessional and will con you of your money. This is an honest review. I am attaching a snapshot of my credit card statement for proof of payment made to these guys. If you want to throw your money and get cheated, go for these guys. If you care about getting your work done professionally, look elsewhere. These guys should lose their license. read more
