    Always excellent service. Juan has been great at performing maintenance work on the very efficient system that Smart installed.

    Our (now-)previous 16 y/o Rheem HVAC system started showing it's age recently, so we decided to replace it (for that and other reasons). Despite being improperly sized and installed by a different company, it had a good run. I switched to Smart Heating and AC for our servicing and maintenance a couple years ago, and have been so happy with them, I knew they were the ones I wanted for a new system too! They are always on time, professional, knowledgeable, and come with such honesty and integrity, and for the install of the new system, nothing was any different. They installed a new Goodman Heat Pump system + new water heater, and all their work was so cleanly done, and you can see much of that from the included pictures. They put in a nice new air-handler breaker in the garage where none had been before and patched up that (and similar) wall-work so nicely. They also went above and beyond and also added new Intermatic surge protectors at both that breaker and the breaker for the outside heat pump (the part where the shining green LED is coming from). They added extra straps too + wrapped and taped up the new ducting so cleanly as well. There was a lot of suboptimal (to put it nicely) work done by the previous system installers, which they corrected. It was a lot of work going from a traditional simple single stage gas furnace and single-function outside AC condenser unit to a fully communicating variable HEAT PUMP HVAC system, but they finished after about 9 hours, and the system has been fantastic so far since! It was also nice going from a janky "behind the wall" in-the-basement MERV 8 return air filter setup from the previous install job, to a properly-installed under the air-handler MERV 15 system, which will result in a massive improvement in air quality (& filter change convenience). The actual outdoor heat pump is about 1/2 the size of the previous AC condenser unit, yet does both heating and cooling functions for the home AND is also very quiet, about 1/4th the sound level of the previous AC condenser unit it replaced. Plus, the inside temperature is now just a solid stable temperature throughout the house, whereas there would be much larger swings in temperature, especially room-to-room before. It also came with a super nice, full-featured, cloud-connected thermostat with a great app to control everything so easily from anywhere. In short, so far we are thrilled with everything about the install work AND new system! I want to end by giving a huge shout-out to the fantastic Smart Heating & AC employees who worked so hard and with such skill to do such a beautiful, clean, and solid install of our new home HVAC system: Jorge, Jesus, Ricky, & Benny are all amazing, and we are grateful to you all for all your hard work on our behalf. It definitely shows, and the system is running great and is such a huge upgrade from the previous system. They also were respectful of the home and cleaned up everything great before leaving! Zero complaints, only compliments and gratitude for all of them! Mike, one of the owners, who did the initial consult and design of the new system was also amazing, so knowledgeable, personable, with such honesty and integrity. You can instantly tell he's just a good guy who always just strives to do right by his customers, including by adding on some of his own above-and-beyond guarantees about the system and their install, and not just the manufacturer warranty. I'm so happy I found Smart Heating & Air Conditioning, and am confident we will continue to be taken care of so well in the coming years by the entire Smart team. Having this type of confidence is super-important when it comes to your HVAC system & water heater. You don't want to wait 2 days or have shoddy repairs that shorten your equipment lifespan, for instance. These are significant investments and critical functions for the home. What I appreciated most was that he didn't just start replacing parts. He thoroughly diagnosed the system, explained what he was testing, and walked me through the results. He showed me that the capacitor was testing low, the contactor was worn and pitted, and even performed a megger test on the compressor to verify it was still healthy. After the repairs, he confirmed everything was working properly by showing me the compressor amperage had dropped back to normal and that the system had an 18-degree temperature split. Keon was patient with all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. He explained the pros and cons of the recommended repairs, including the hard-start kit, so I could make an informed decision instead of feeling pressured. I really appreciated his transparency and professionalism. By the time he was done, our AC was cooling properly again, and he even worked with us on the final price. If you're looking for an HVAC technician who is knowledgeable, honest, thorough, and takes the time to educate his customers, I highly recommend Keon Garcia. Thanks again for getting our family cool again!

    Unfortunately, your response omits several important objective facts that I discussed with you…read moredirectly during our phone conversation. First, repeatedly referring to my furnace as "a 1996 furnace" is misleading. While the cabinet was originally installed in 1996, all major internal components were professionally replaced five years ago. Multiple licensed HVAC contractors immediately recognized the refurbishment during their inspections and all independently concluded that my furnace was in excellent operating condition with decades of service life remaining. More concerning was your technician's sales presentation. I was told my furnace was a fire hazard, posed a carbon monoxide risk, and required replacement in the interest of safety. Those are serious claims. Yet four independent licensed HVAC contractors disagreed with that assessment, and none recommended replacing the furnace. Instead, they all recommended replacing only the air conditioner. You also claim the photos your technician showed me were legitimate. That claim is difficult to reconcile with what I personally witnessed. I watched all four of the other contractors perform their inspections in real time. They each inserted their phones into my furnace, showed me live video from inside the unit, and provided photographs of the internal components. All four sets of images were consistent with one another. None resembled the photos your technician used to justify replacing my furnace. That discrepancy is exactly why I sought multiple independent opinions before making an $18,000 decision. During our phone call, I explained all of this to you and provided the context regarding the refurbishment. Your public response ignores those facts and instead repeatedly relies on the original installation date to justify the recommendation somehow. My review was never about whether homeowners can replace both systems at the same time. Many choose to do so. My concern was being told that I NEEDED to replace a recently refurbished, fully functional furnace because it was supposedly unsafe. After obtaining four independent opinions, I concluded that your recommendation was not supported by objective facts. "Facts don't care about your feelings" the saying goes. Prospective customers can draw their own conclusions. I certainly did, which is why I sought additional opinions before authorizing nearly $18,000 in work. That decision saved me thousands of dollars, a potential service install nightmare (see the numerous 1 star reviews by others) and I stand by my review.
