Typically, when I walk into a dentist office anxiety provokes me to the extreme. However, from the beginning, that was something different here with Cedar Park Dental An Braces. From the front staff Christy an Kaycee made things smooth sailing while always communicating and keeping me up-to-date on my appointment and committing to call me as a reminder and just all around being friendly and kind from the moment, you walk in the door. Unlike some places where the front staff is pissy and rude and just makes you feel like you're in an awkward place and being judged. The communication with the doctors is on point and they always get back to you immediately if there's a question or concern. Once you are called back into the back rooms and start your procedure I will admit that Dr. Ho and Dr. Brian are the best and most accommodating doctors that I've ever been to in the Dental world. Not only are they relatable and communicative, but they're kind and caring with concern not just about the dollar but about your smile. When it comes down to it, I have never once felt out of place or in judgment or seen for less than because my smile was not the best and brightest. Over the years that has NEVER changed as these amazing doctors have taken the time and consideration to do what's in my best interest for my teeth for today and in the future. I love the opportunity to just engage with them and has a human interaction other than a superior over myself. Never have they made me feel less than as a person just because I'm not as educated as they are. Again, however, none of this could be done without their assistants and Amber has been top-notch all the way. She takes the time to get to know me and cares about me every time she sees me in the office. She takes the time out of her day to come and say hi and just check in where I'm at in life. When she's working on my teeth she has great sensitivity and responsiveness to pain and discomfort, noting things for the doctors. I met Billy today who did my cleaning and he was also incredibly kind and communicative. He explained to me the whole process as he cleaned my teeth, and I learned things that I didn't know about how they do things and what they use an why. All around I don't think you're gonna find a better dentist office than Cedar Park Dental An Braces. Over my time being here I have had some mishaps were life happened and appointments were missed, and their kindness and concern went the extra mile as they always checked in with me to make sure that things were OK after the fact, even though I took time out of the doctors office and away from another patient because I missed my appointment. Never once did they chastise me or make me feel bad. I remember last year when they stepped up for my family and went the extra mile in a very special way, and because of that they will always be near and dear to my heart. I can assure you that if you give them the opportunity they will win you over and you will be writing your own review about how great they are but don't take my word for it. Had the worst experience here! Spent thousands of dollars and they did terrible work. I got 3 crowns and none of them were done well. I had to go back in at least 5 times for one of them because the temporary fell out multiple times and one time they had to reorder the permanent because they ordered the wrong color and then another time they just couldn't find it when I came in to have it put on so had to come back another day when they finally recovered or reordered it and they still didn't cement it down well enough because not even a year later it's already splitting at the seam and therefore causing me constant unbearable pain and now has finally just popped off. Another crown they did I told them repeatedly was too big and really really hurt me and they just said I had to get used to it and for 2 weeks it hurt me so badly I just wanted to yank it out until it finally shifted the rest of my bite and now my teeth are crooked. read more

I changed to CPD&B after needing to leave my former dentist of 11 years due to insurance changes. I was nervous. I have a lot of dental issues and I'm self-conscious about it. HOWEVER, from the moment I was a patient at CPD&B, I didn't feel judged and was actually offered a lot of information that would help. The front office is extremely helpful and friendly, all practitioners are not only immensely knowledgeable, but they understand the needs and situations of patients. Lastly, I thought my former dentist was modern, but coming here showed me that dentistry has certainly evolved to be as helpful and as efficient as its ever been and CPD&B is not straggling behind in that regard. I want to give this place 10 stars, but yelp allows for 5. Great prices, plans, staff, facilities. Going back in a few weeks to get some more work done. :) read more

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Hsin Ryan Ho. I went there for cleaning and it was the most painful dental cleaning session I've ever experience. Mind you, I am 67y/o and have had my share of cleanings, including deep cleaning. This provider used an electric scaler instead of a manual one. Every time he touched my teeth I groaned in pain. That happened for every single tooth he touched. I kept complaining but he kept going telling the reason for the pain was I had significant recession. I knew that and that is why dental hygienist everywhere else use the manual scaler. He was not gentle at all. I also wondered why a dentist performed the cleaning. Were they out of a hygienist and still wanted to bill for their services? I think so. Also, when he walked in he loudly and rudely introduced himself. He obviously saw I was wearing hearing aids and thought the way to speak to a patient with a hearing deficit is to speak loudly. He should be advised that is not the case. Luckily, he was done in about 5 minutes, telling me my teeth were clean enough. ("You're doing a good job," he said as he exited the exam room. This was my second visit at this office. When I got there they told the VA approval had not been received and thus I did not have an appmnt. but they decided to see me anyway (Read they still wanted to be able to bill for their services. Regarding appointments, this was the second time that happened. The previous time I had to leave without being seen. Finally, during my first visit, I brought a night guard for cleaning. This is normally done with an ultrasound machine that all practices have. They did not have one and all they did was run tab through and handed it back to me. Overall, this is a horrible dental office and I do not recommend it to anyone, especially when it concerns Dr. Ho. I have already contacted the VA and asked to be transferred. Veterans beware. P.S. I happened to be a medical doctor myself and know if a patient complains of pain during a procedure, i.e. cannot tolerate a procedure, you either stop or take measures to reduce the pain. I've had nothing but great and genuine interactions with this dental office. The staff and doctors are extremely friendly, however I did my Invisalign treatment through them. My personal issue was not with any dental or ortho treatments or a conflict of personality with any staff member. My issue arose when the dental provider felt entitled to more payment beyond the agreement between me and my insurance. Instead of the office filing an appeal with insurance they personally billed me the payment. My insurance company informed me that the dentist was informed twice by them they were not owed any more for my Invisalign treatment. (My insurance paid 50% and I paid the other half). As I made my last payment over a month later I get an outstanding bill for almost $800. I call and asked about the charge and the dental office blamed my insurance. I felt as the middle man between insurance and this office. I don't understand why this office did not file an appeal from the start and why they charged $800 to me personally. I was informed by my insurance company that this dental office is performing a scam. As I informed this dental office I will be filing a grievance and I will be in touch with them I noticed they would not answer my phone calls to the office nor return my calls (I've never had this issue before as they are fully staffed). As I went in the office today the receptionist said that it was an accident on their part that the dentist "made an adjustment" an adjustment me nor my insurance was aware of and that's why this occurred. I'm not sure if they thought because I'm in my early 20's they thought they could get away with this but I'm fearful for other patients at this office who could and already have been taken advantage of. In my opinion upwards to one thousand dollars is not some little accident as they made it seem. I had to go in person to the office to resolve this and I feel as if I didn't push this situation they wouldn't have corrected their great mistake. If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband went to get a tooth removal on Monday 12/22. The dentist told us it would take 5 minutes. We were there for 2 hours. They then informed me that he had "very small" root tip that the dentist stuck up into his sinus area in his cheek by repeating to attempt to get the root out. (They also informed it may work itself out on its own) They then gave up and informed us to see an oral surgeon as soon as possible to get it out. They rushed him out the door with no gauze in his mouth no paper work for after care no pain medications NOTHING what so ever! I had to call back and ask for pain meds as he was in extreme pain, and ask for some gauze and the syringe to clean his mouth hours later and I had to go back to the office. I also asked for them to assist with the new bill I would have to pay with having to see a specialist now due to them pushing the tooth so far up trying to get a piece of tooth out of my husbands mouth for 2 hours is way way WAY to long! They did inform us of a list of oral surgeons to go too unfortunately none covered under our insurance. I finally found someone the day after and due to holidays were not able to be seen until Monday 12/29 the following week. I called the office again to ask for an update on them assisting with my bill for the specialist the front desk personnel informed me no answer was made as of yet. They did not ask for my name or number to call me back so I assume they think I am going to give up WRONG! They did call my husband and apologized that they "FORGOT" to offer that they had an oral surgeon 1 or 2 days AFTER they rushed us out the door on Monday!!! The new surgeon informed us the "very small" root tip was very LARGE! Not something that could work itself out. They did inform when removing the LARGE root tip that he was developing a sinus infection and a lot of puss was in the cavity that the previous dentist from cedar park dental and braces did. I had to pay 1175.20 for the new dentist to assist him. I want cedar park dental and braces to pay my out of pocket bill for all the issues and hardship my husband has had to endure with THEIR MISTAKE! I went in for two tooth extractions and they left half of my teeth (root) in there. Then they charged me over $1,000 while using my insurance. Called the insurance company and they said they didn't have authorization to charge me anything over $500. They could not tell me what the other charges were for. Where to start on this place. I set up a new patient appointment and planned to pay through their Advantage Membership Plan. When I checked in for my first appointment, I was told that at checkout that will be discussed- which I was fine with. I was brought back and had xrays done, then waited 25 minutes before seeing anyone else. Finally, another hygienist came in and told me they are behind and if I want to wait until they're done with the patient before me they can then see me for my cleaning, but it would be at least 30 minutes. I said I'd wait. About 10 minutes later he came back and took a look and did whatever calculations need to be done, then left again. Another 10 or so minutes later, he came back and told me they cannot see me today because they won't have time since my appointment will need more time than expected. Unfortunate, but fine. Things happen. By this time the office was closing at at check out, the front desk assistant informed me that she could not help me with the membership plan as "she doesn't usually work in the front desk and wasn't sure how it worked, so today we're just going to charge you $150 and have the manager call you tomorrow." Aggravating. The next day, no call. Nothing. Day after, no communication. The next business day, I called to reschedule and discuss the payment coordination. I was placed on hold so long that it finally went to voicemail. left a voicemail in the morning and never received a return call. Two days later I called again and finally spoke with someone and rescheduled the appointment for the deep cleaning. I came in, early, for my appointment. I wasn't called back until already 20 minutes after my appointment. I was placed in the chair and had the bib put on. No one came back for another 30 minutes. By the time it was 50 minutes past my appointment time, the receptionist comes in and tells me they cannot see me today because they don't have time. I could either hope that the next patient is a no-show so I can be seen, or reschedule for the next business day. Absolutely poor service all around. NO communication on payment, a single-visit appointment that had become now not being seen twice, and no communication until already almost an hour after I was supposed to be seen anyway. If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not go here. No, I never did hear from anyone about the payment plan. The best thing I can say is, the receptionist was very apologetic and handled the situation with great decorum. read more

I have been going to this practice for 3 years and have spent a significant amount of money there. But even with all of this, they were planning to send me to collections over $19. They would rather lose a patient and ruin someones credit over $19. The extra $19 came from them adding additional Fluoride, which I did not ask for. I am having a horrible experience with this office. I went in for a cleaning only on March 2022, and using my insurance, I still paid over $200. I had 2 apts and paid them twice before I left their office. A year later, they started the emails, phone calls and text messages telling me that I still owed them $266.12 more. They have sent me to collections and I am now having to take legal action against them, especially if that collection lands on my credit report. I also called the insurance company and they stated I had paid my part. I dont know what billing codes they are using or how they are billing, but something is definitely wrong here and I hope it's. not insurance fraud when using "deep cleaning." Several others have left horrible reviews on Google as well regarding this same experience of being charged a year later for God knows what. Update 11/15/23: Office called me to ask me about my review. They stated that they have never received the information provided to them about contacting my attorney regarding this matter. I have emails and text messages to prove that. They also stated that I approved a "deep cleaning" while laying on the chair getting my regular cleaning. Whatever the case may be, I paid them everything they asked me to pay before I left their office. BBB will be contacted and so will department of licensing to file a complaint. No one should be billed 1.5 years later for something that their "old manager" was messing up with. Proper procedures should be put into place so that things like this do not happen and patients get caught up in the you owe me thousands of dollars years later. This is disgusting behavior from professionals. And if anyone is going to go into the office for the first time, make sure you get paperwork, signatures, and have proof of conversations for your legal matters later on. It will help. read more

The doctor examined me and said I had periodontal disease and therefore needed a deep cleaning, an expensive procedure requiring deadening and a followup visit. Really? The dentist I'd gone to for many years had never prescribed that, and I'd seen him earlier in the year. Had I developed periodontal disease since? I went to another dentist today, one who has been in Cedar Park a long time. Neither the hygienist nor the doctor found evidence of gum disease, or a need for deep cleaning. My teeth got a clean bill of health. For Rock Point to over-diagnose, and then prescribe an unneeded procedure--which is what they did--is unconscionable. I would not trust them. read more

Honestly, I didn't even experience any dental work, but my initial visit left me in a pretty awful anxiety state so bad I was certainly not thinking straight and knew deep down the place was looking for a patient who had insurance a (a good one apparently they told me) and money to pay for some work. Fortunately/Unfortunately, I fell down the stairs and bruised my rips and then developed pneumonia. Long story short, my doctor highly recommended to cancel any procedure. i haven't been to the dentist in about 5 years but finally had dental insurance again so scheduled an appointment. since i have good dental hygiene i wasn't too worried, maybe a cavity or two, or a crown, but after such a long time away from the dentist i wouldn't be too surprised. well, after x-rays and an exam, they told me that i had 7 cavities and needed 3 crowns! and that my insurance would only cover 1 crown per lifetime. my total cost (after what insurance paid) for all the work to be done would be almost $3000! they also required that i put down a deposit before my next visit! i decided to get a second and third opinion, and both agreed after exams and looking at the x-rays from this dentist that i needed only 2 crowns and had only 2 cavities. furthermore, my insurance covers all my crowns and fillings, so i do not have to pay a thing. this dentist was going to charge me almost $3000 out of my pocket, none of which i have to pay because it is totally covered by my insurance! needless to say, if you have any doubt that you really need the work done, or that they seem to charge more than they should, get a second opinion. and check with your insurance company before you pay them anything! read more

The office is brand new with the most state of the art equipment ever. X-rays. 18 of them, taken right in the cleaning chair. They are able to put your teeth right up in HD for you to see, think floss shaming!! Everything in your mouth if there to see. The dental technician was charming and efficient. Believe it or not the dentist actually cleaned my teeth and talked about everything in real time not just after I was passed back to him as usually is the case. I highly recommend going somewhere else. Beware the untrained assistant and distracted Dentist. A 1.5 hr procedure took over 3 hours, I was buzzed in the tongue with a drill by Dr Kerr and the assistant pinched my lip with her tools over 20 times, Dr Kerr kept leaving the office for 5-20 min at a time. It sounded like he was chatting it up in the hall. And the assistant had no idea what to do, would not follow instructions to use the right tools or wear her light so she could see what she was doing in my mouth. She couldn't even tell me basic things about caring for a cap tooth. NO TRAINING, ZERO SKILL SET OR EXPERTISE. She should NEVER have been let loose on a patient. She body bumped me while the Dr was drilling. Fumbled constantly. The Dr paid more attention to her than the procedure. The procedure was torturous, and the temporary cap was a disaster. Leaving me with pain and temperature sensitivity. I waited for 4 weeks for my new tooth. Dr. Kerr destroyed my original tooth and Dr. Edmonds did the cap, but not before they tried to leave me with the same untrained assistant again. I only had a small crack in my tooth due to an old silver filling. Lots of X-rays and Dr Kerr recommended a cap to prevent a future root canal. All my other teeth are perfect and my gums are in excellent shape. The crack did not bother me but I didn't want to wait for it to become a problem. The care I received here left me with worse pain and a bigger problem. The permanent cap did not fix the temperature sensitivity or the soreness like Dr Edmonds said it would. I can feel a gap with my tongue. Total disaster. I'm beyond furious. read more

I was greeted by Ansonya, who was most helpful and to my surprise was able to get me back to the dentist and seen with in a few minutes. I saw Dr Chang and the assistant Jaz, and I couldn't begin to tell you how happy I was with my experience. They answered all my questions. Discussed my options and I left there very pleased.
