If I can give 0 stars to customer service, I would. Unfortunately Micky is no longer there and Shroeder is, who is awesome. But things have changed with customer service. I live 2 1/2 hours away and my family of 4 we pay cash to get our teeth cleaned for the past 6years. The lady at the front desk on 10/8/2024 at 244pm I called to let them know we where going to be 18 mins. We was already on I-10. Late due to traffic, hurricane Milton caused this traffic. She said I would have to reschedule because they only allow a 15 minutes grace period. Not only that they did not call us to tell us that the hygienist left due to an emergency. We only see Shroeder, did not bother to call us and give us the option to reschedule before we got on the road and wasted time and gas, a total of 4 1/2 hours, round trip. Aspen dental is no more. The front desk staff who talked to me thinks that she's doing me a favor and can talk to me like the way she talks to everyone else. Stay away from this place at all costs...unless you have the follow-up and negotiating skills of a used car salesman. I went in for the 'free clean and X-ray' new patient deal. After reviewing the X-ray the dentist said that it was urgent I get a deep gum cleaning and root planing or I'd be at a risk of losing teeth. I reviewed cost with billing rep, Holly, who told me my insurance would cover $1000 of the $1200 service and I paid my $200 upfront and proceeded with treatment. Service of the cleaning was ok but not the reason for any complaint here. 2 months go by and I receive notice from my insurance that they will not be covering my treatment because their dental professional reviewed documentation provided by Aspen and there was no reason for the treatment I received. I call Aspen up to speak with Holly, who I talked with previously in billing, and she lets me know that this is standard and they will file an appeal on my behalf and should be nothing to worry about. Now 2 weeks pass and I receive a bill from Aspen stating the amount my insurance denied. After more than 10 calls and voicemails to Holly with no returned calls I finally speak with another associate starting the my appeal was in fact filed and I can disregard my bill. After my failed attempts in reaching them and no follow-up from them in return I was skeptical at best in their ability to file a claim so I decided to call up my insurance to see if, in fact, an appeal was filed as it had been weeks since Aspen confirmed my appeal was filed. My suspicions were confirmed that Aspen lied and no appeal was ever sent to my insurance. That was 3 weeks ago and I have been following up daily by calling and leaving messages for Holly, who was the person I'd been dealing with and supposedly submit my appeal, and none of my 15+ calls or voicemails have still not been returned. This is far and away the worst business experience I've ever dealt with and would caution anyone from going here for treatment. There is blatant mismanagement, accountability, and negligence on behalf of the employees. This should never be the case in the medical field where people's health is on the line with large dollar implications. read more

Not necessarily unhappy with the dental work, but does it really take 3 1/2+ hours to have teeth cleaned, even though you have braces on? No it don't. Turns out, once the wires were removed, it took 25 minutes for the actual cleaning. Arrived at 1:30 and still here at 4:53 so if you like a medical facility to respect your time as they insist we respect theirs, then stay far away from this place. What a joke. read more

I hate to ding this place because in an emergency and my Dentist was MIA they saw me treated the problem and resolved the issue. The staff is pleasantly professional and efficient. Office manager Dennis well versed in all the financial matters and takes time to explain billing and payment options. The physician staffing this office was informative, explained my options and got on with the procedure. After 2 follow up visits my mouth is as beautiful as before. I have made the decision to transfer here for my future dental care. The ding or perhaps it could be a tip. Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes after your appointment time to be seen. I'm not much all for the poking and proding. I am an OTR truck driver and about the time I hit Alabama my molar started throbbing due to an exposed nerve. My drop off just happened to be 20 miles from here. I did call ahead in advance to let them know I an coming but didn't set an appointment. I arrived at 9 am and after my nerves had settled and we got the paperwork underway. I was in the chair and ready to be worked on. I was in and out of the chair within an hour and a new hole in my head and pain free. These guys are amazing. Too bad I don't live in Florida I would come here every chance I could. (Preferably not to have more teeth yanked) I had no Insurance (as I started a new job) and they had already set me up on a payment plan. wish I would have checked here before going to this place. the front staff and assist were quite nice, but the egotistical dentist was a huge *sshole. I specifically went there for the enormous amount of pain I am in. he said he couldn't do anything about the tooth because I needed antibiotics. I asked him to give me something for the pain and he offered me ibuprofen. I told him that I had 800 mg ibuprofen at home and it wasn't heloping, that I was having to take one every 2-3 hours. he said he couldn't do anything for me, and made me feel like a druggie looking for pills. I just want to be out of pain. is that so much to ask of a dentist when he could clearly see the issues I am having, there is actually an exposed nerve. he had no problem at all talking about the implants I was interested in, but had no desire to help with my current issue. there voicemail says they are non-judgementa, but that is far from the truth. they also say they will do there best to help in an emergency, but he did nothing. when I said if he couldn't help me, I would have to go see an emergency dentist that could and basically he said there's the door. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. after the horrible reviews this dentist keeps getting, aspen dentist should fire his ass. Update - the doctor had put in a script for antibiotics which he said was for an abscess I had but when I got the script, it said to take 4 pills on day of procedure, which means 1) either I had an abscess and he didn't care or 2) I don't have an abscess and he just chose not to do any work on my teeth even though I was in an enormous amount of pain and the antibioptics were for after the implants they kept pushing on me. 2016. I started doing an implant a few years ago upon the recommendation of a dentist from Aspen. I told her that as long as it's covered by my insurance then ok, we will move ahead, only to find out that it wasn't! This was at the branch closer to Costco. whenever I went to an appointment, there was always an excuse as to why "They were sorry, they made a mistake" about one thing or another. Suffice it to say, I was very displeased with their service and asked to be transferred to a different branch, as the work on the implant was already started. Two incisors in either side of my mouth was to be inserted. When I eventually found out that the total cost of 1 implant was $5,000, And that I was responsible for the ENTIRE cost, I didn't complete the process. I simply asked them for a predetermination of the entire recommended work, so that I would be aware of the depth of the hole I had jumped into. 2019. Forward to September. I decided to try finish the work, it made no sense having two holes drill into my mouth, $5,000 of work being done and I can't profit from it. So the gums are opened up by Dr. M, screws put in we are heading towards the final steps of doing impressions followed by placing the crowns in. Long story short, two weeks after the crown was placed, I feel the left crown "shaking" Are you kidding me? Having paid through the teeth of credit cards for this procedure, this tooth is coming out. I went back to Aspen, saw the doctor who told me my body is rejecting the work. Really? I have no pain, no information in the area. This is a different dentist now. She doesn't immediately address the issue, instead, she gives me an appointment three weeks out. That happened the Tuesday. On the Thursday of that same week, while teaching a class, the entire thing fell out! Here is the kicker. I went back to them, with the tooth in my hand, and the same dentist says; "You are lucky, it might not be rejection at all, I'll still need the dental surgeon to check it." And still left me with the same appointment 2 weeks out! I guess this wasn't considered an emergency, just an inconvenience! You know what? The service there is sloppy, at best. I am thoroughly disappointed in that company. I spoke to my union and they are advising me as to the appropriate steps to be taken. When you spend this kind of money, whether cosmetic or not, one SHOULD get their money's worth. Dentistry is just a big rip off! Dentist shouldn't charge customers an arm and a leg for these procedures just because they can. And if they do, they should deliver errorless work, which, clearly this was not. This is the most unprofessional job and service I have ever encountered, and I have had dental work in a third world country before. A huge chain like Aspen should not leave anything lacking! Went to this office in April, They recommended having Teeth scaling. The amount out of pocket for me was a total of $535.00 ( my portion) for the whole mouth. They cleaned the bottom potion in April, And billed my insurance company $1003.00 and I payed $280.00 for the bottoms to be done that day. So now they want another $245.00 for the service rendered. I came to Aspen Dental to have a crown completed ater I had a root canal done at my previous dentist in Miami. My initial visit wasn't too bad I had a few x-rays done and conversed about the process. I was comfortable and eager to get it all completed so I could put this behind me. I was also due for an annual cleaning which is something I brought up but they seemed more interested in the crown which my insurance only covered a fraction of. After preparing the tooth I was told to wait a week then to return for them to analyze the tooth and to make a molding for the crown. A day before my appointment i was told not to come in because my crown "wasn't in yet, it should be in within the next few days" I knew this was false because I hadn't done the molding for the crown. I called back to address the problem and was given the run around. Almost a week after that call I called again to check up on the process of my molding appointment and they said I needed to make "another molding"..... Although I never made the first one. Noone wanted to admit to their mistakes and misinformation but whatever I just wanted the crown completed so I could go to another dentist (I was told that if I went to another dentist during the process of the crown I wouldn't get my money back and they couldn't honor our agreement.) Fastforward to another week I went in for the molding and eventually the crown was completed. Its incredible how something as simple as a record of a patients procedures can get "lost" or "mishandled" when you have hired someone to specifically handle those things. I will not return to Aspen Dental and wouldn't recommend any of my family members here either. Oh, And the annual teeth cleaning my insurance covered was never completed, addressed, or a concern although they tried to get me to have other work done that was not covered by my insurance, and never a concern of any other dentist of mine in the past because "this is a good price." Went In for a broken tooth. Upon arrival I filled out the new patient form. They took me back and had me get my xrays done. Everything went down hill after that. When the hygienist saw me, she told me that my gums are on the brink of being infected. She made it sound so horrible, it made me cry. Now I've been going to another dentist for the past year in a different state. They never said anything about this!! I still wanted to just get my tooth pulled, but the hygienist insisted on pulling out a camera and showing me the area where tartar was built up. The dentist came in shortly after. Huge ego, she kept saying things like "my Job as a doctor is to educate you " as if I didn't know my teeth had cavities? She was very condescending. She told me "when I get on my feet and start working" to come back. Where did she get that from?!?! I've been working and I am stable...anyway I kept saying I wanted this tooth removed and everyone kept telling me "let's look at our options first, you may want to save it" well at the end of everything she said "I recommend you get this removed" this is about an hour and a half of me being here.... So I ask, can I get my tooth removed today? No!!! Apparently the tooth is too close to a nerve and needs to be removed by an oral surgeon even though my sister had the SAME TOOTH removed for her at a different doctor !! This is a terrible company bordering on criminal! The main issue I have with the company is that they make you pay the "estimated" amount due after insurance pays in order to make an appointment. Then when your insurance pays more than they though they refund you the difference if you are lucky and they don't just over bill you. I don't think that I should have to give my dentist an interest free loan for 6 months every time I make an appointment. All of the dental staff is great and makes you feel very much at ease, but the admin is more than incompetent. I have been trying to get and explanation of a balance that they say is due to them for 2 years! I call to get the info and they say they will look into it and get back to me. They never get back to me and then they put me in collections for the balance that they cannot explain. then I call back and repeat again the same process. I finally was told the date of the balance due so I got an EOB form insurance showing I owed an different amount for that day, and Aspen verified that on that day I paid the estimated amount which was twice the balance due. So why the balance in collections? they don't know their best bet is that is balances from other dates that the insurance didn't cover. REALLY!! show me the dates, they cant! They must just rely on the incompetence of their staff to get patients to pay them balances that are not due to them! solid business plan!!!! Since moving to a different dentist I have been trying to get my records from them for 4 days and every time I call they tell me they will email the immediately but I still have not received them. This is perhaps the worst dentistry practice I've ever been to. They are staffed to the gills with admin aides, office people, and the like...but only have one dentist on site. Plus the fact that for each little procedure one has to make a whole separate appointment. I had a xrays, checkup, a gum marking, a cleaning and one cavity filled and it took a total of five appointments over EIGHT WEEKS to get this done. I recently moved from North Carolina where my regular dentist could do this in one appt - two tops. People were nice but I will not be coming back. Long story short I broke a crown and needed to get it fixed asap and don't have a local dentist. Aspen was great with scheduling me on short notice and at a convenient time. Upon arriving immediately completed the new patient paper work and was in the back minutes after arriving. That part was impressive. From there x-rays and photos were taken and back to the dental chair. Although I'm sure the dentist was knowledgeable it felt like she was reading from a corporate training script. My favorite part was she explained that working for a corporate dentist office she is salaried and doesn't make any more for recommending more expensive treatments so unlike those sneaky private practices they go over what they think you really need and not try and upsell you on more expensive options or unecessary things (hint: more to come). I'm sure at least the first part of that is true. We went over the options for either a bridge or implant with her recommending the bridge as the cheaper option Next I was taking into an office to go over the costs associated with either plan. With dental insurance the bridge was $5000 and e implant was $10,800. GTFO. It's not like I've priced out dental bridges before but that seemed really high since I had only paid, I think, $2500, for 2 crowns and multiple teeth cleanings a few years back. What irks me is that they refused to put in a temp or give me anything that would have at least made my smile prettier. The whole Crux of my visit was to get this since it's my front tooth and I'm going on vacation soon. The Dentist advised she couldn't glue the tooth back or make a temp without me signing up for one of the treatment plans. When I explained I wasnt comfortable with them and would pay for the temp she countered that it would be a liability and I could sue if anything happened. Then I learned that my insurance determines the prices. That's obviously not true. Luckily I found about dentist office that is going to do the implant for $2000. That is less than half cost they were going to charge for the bridge and the other dentist recommended against the bridge given my age and the likelihood of have further issues down the line. And they made a mold so I can get the temp the next day! I don't blame the dentist or the staff. They are not responsible for the price gouging or, I assume, corporate policies set to protect the businesses liability over all else. I just won't be coming back. read more

I would not recommend Aspen Dental on Atlantic blvd to anyone. Their customer service is horrible. I went in for a consultation about a dental implant and was told that based on their computer system my insurance does not cover dental implants. This is different than the information my insurance company provided me with. I requested that the office staff call my insurance company to clarify the information. The office was told from my insurance company that dental implants are covered however they needed an email sent to them with an updated fee schedule before they could book an appointment for me. After one week of waiting for a response, I contacted Aspen Dental again to see if I could finally book an appointment but now they were saying my insurance does not cover dental implants, which was not what was told to me when I spoke with my insurance company. I asked the office staff to contact my insurance again and after three weeks of going back and forth repeatedly calling the office, having them still tell me dental implants are not covered, they finally confirmed that dental implants are covered. Then I was told that I would have to go down to the office, show them my driver's license and pay first before they would even book the appointment for me. I was not comfortable with doing this because this is not standard practice in my experience. In addition to all of this, I found out I was charged for a gum cleaning appointment I had canceled. I was falsely signed up for a credit card which was explained to me as a simple payment plan. I tried contacting the office numerous times and after finally speaking with Holly I was told the charge would be removed. One week passed, the charge had not been removed. I called the office again several times, no one answered the phone and it went to voicemail. The only time I was able to speak with someone I was put on hold for several minutes. I gave them enough time to remove the charge but they still did not remove it. This resulted in me having to call the credit card company to dispute the charge. Because of this experience and how long everything took, I chose to use another dental practice. I could only imagine what other mishaps I would have gone through had I chose Aspen Dental. read more

I asked if somebody could send me a confirmation email showing that my account statement = $0 and they said they would but no email ever came.
