I came here after moving to the area and trying to establish a new dentist. I came to aspen expecting to get my cleaning, check for cavities like a normal dentist checkup, and be on my way. Instead, I was given a bunch of x-rays (which is normal) and then a gum doctor and regular doctor looked at me for maybe 3 minutes each, before they were trying to tell me I needed a bunch of complicated laser treatment. I was then prompted into a room where they went over cost of said treatment and I was told I'd need to spend 2,000 dollars out of pocket for it. I have good teeth, and the doctor even said as much, but yet they were still trying to upsell me on this super expensive treatment I didn't need. When I told them that I wasn't interested they then tried to tell me they would knock 700 dollars off by postponing the laser, and just doing something else, and that it would've just over 1,000 dollars. When I said that I just wanted to get my cleaning and be on my way, they said they would not do a cleaning for me unless I got this 2,000 dollar treatment. I have never had a dentist office try to upsell me on things like I was in an auto shop trying to get an oil change. It was sleezy and unethical. This office is a scam and I would absolutely not go here if I were you I'm sure aspens response to this comment will be something like "we are sorry, each care plan is specifically crafted to each patient" like it is to every other comment in here. But if everyone in here has similar complaints, which is that aspen tries to oversell you on a bunch of complicated treatments you don't need, then clearly it isn't crafted to each patient, an this is just their playbook. DO NOT GO HERE! I sat down with the biller and she took me through the all the costs before my procedure. I told her I would pay everything up front. This was almost 2000. Then I get another bill in the mail for almost the exact same cost. They tried to explain it was for something different and it needed to be paid. I didn't see any insurance deductions and they told me that there was a problem. The support person said they would call my insurance to get it sorted out. No follow up from them. I got there and the lobby was packed, I was checking in and the lady at the desk told me my appointment was for 1/19 @ 10:00 AM, I said ok and on the way home I remembered the text, why didn't she just admit they overbooked appointments and if I could reschedule, but no she blamed me for them making too many appointments, that is not the way to conduct business with a 70 year old man. I went there after looking at other dental groups. I needed to have teeth removed and be fitted for a denture. There was no advising as to return appointments or anything. I finally received the denture and no letting me know when or if there was a follow up appointment. I have it for a week and am in constant pain as they don't fit. I am going in to see what can be done. My complaint is no follow up. read more

This location severely burned my 83 year old friend in a botched x-ray, dropped and broke her dentures, harassed her & threatened to take her to collections when she refused to pay $94 for the damages they did so she felt scared and paid them out of fear and the legal system is refusing to hold these criminals accountable! Tried to charge me outrageous amounts of money for procedures I did not need. This is in fact fraud and they should be held accountable for their actions. I was seen by 2 other dentists that told me I did not need any special procedures yet Aspen Dental wanted to charge me over $1000 a year to get my teeth cleaned. Yes I have insurance, but the special cleaning they said was the only option for me is not necessary. They refused to do a regular cleaning for me because they wanted my money. Asked her to cancel upcoming appointment, she couldn't do that either. Very bad first impression. I scheduled my appointment for 11:30am, they confirmed several times, including the day before, for 11:30am. So I take the day off from work get there 15 minutes early so they can tell me that my appt was at 11am according to their schedule and that they won't be able to see me today, I would have to reschedule. This is even after I showed them the confirmations that they sent me saying my appointment was at 11:30am. DO NOT TRUST. I don't normally write reviews, but this deserves one. I went to Aspen dental to get a check up. It had been a year since my last cleaning, so I wasn't expecting the best of news, but after inspecting my gums they told me I needed an extensive deep cleaning because I had developed periodontitis. The procedure was $2,000 AFTER insurance. I've had late stage gingivitis and early onset periodontitis before so I know what it looks like, and my mouth did not look or feel that way. I trusted my gut and went to a non-corporate dentist in Eugene 2 weeks later and they told me all I needed was a regular cleaning and my mouth was otherwise healthy. I REPOSTED my review from 2020-21 (approximately), because it was erased, so I posted another today, 6/23/24. Adding to that review today, 6/23/24, I'm blown away by all the poor reviews & ASPEN is still in business or doesn't refund or acclamate their patients, charging a "Care Card' " was given to a patient, who didn't fill it out & was going to look it over,, but ASPEN took it up on themselves to fill out the patient's information for care credit WITHOUT PATIENT'S PERMISSION? That's against the law & I believe that will ALL of these reviews, 95% "one star reviews", are valid because the same happened to me as far as threatening me for extra $5,000 ON TOP of what I paid, also NOT doing Periodontal Maintenance for a few years,worsening my gums/teeth, but "CLEANING", though charging me for my gum issues I have had since '82, regularly getting my gums scaled 2-3X a year since then. I'm going to go forward with a Class Action Suit" against Aspen, Eugene, OR. The State of OR already has multiple grievances against Aspen, whether Eugene, OR, Springfield, OR and/or in other states, reviews from '16 through present. I was told by Senior/Disabled Service & other reporting agencies, to go forward with the Class Action Suit, because Aspen broke the law & proceeds to continue doing so. Others can sit & complain to basically "a wall" with Aspen, OR join the suit. It is irrelevant to me, as there's hundreds of complaints against them from as I type this.' Terrible! spoke several times to lady in office about my dental anxiety. Assured me they would take good care of me. I drove a hour and a half to get to this appointment. Needless to say, they left me sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. I left out of my mind, super anxious. No apologies, nothing. I also tried Aspen Dental in Roseburg, with the same promises. Absolute chaos. Hopefully this place will. be shut down like the Roseburg office. Also this is my second time prepaying for their dental plan. Once again I'm sitting in the waiting room of Aspen Dental with my very capable 17 year old. He has his own job and his own car and his own independence. I take him to the doctor and he can go see the doctor by himself. However, Aspen Dental demands I sit in the office for a routine cleaning and dental check. They say it is because there might be some type of emergency. This absent Dental is in a shopping mall. It won't let me walk across the parking lot to a store and browse the store because I have to sit in the office in case there's some type of emergency. This is the most ridiculous policy I've ever heard. I called and complained to management. They said they want to discuss it with me and they noted my complaint, but it remains our policy. I have other children that other dentist and it is not their policy. My extractions began a week before being completed. 3hrs in the chair that day with drilling, hammering and pulling. The following week was hell. And on top of that, I got a dry socket, which they failed to spot, so another week of very severe pain. Had to go to my primary care physician to get any help. Their Andrea phone person yelled, hung up, and accused me of abuse, after saying she and her dentist don't believe I have a dry socket. Why? No clue. Warning! The bill was outrageous and the customer care lower than a one on the rating scale, but could not leave a zero. read more

Horrible service and horrible experience. Making the appointment was great, easy. I showed up to this office at 1:50 for my appointment @2PM to fill out whatever paperwork a new patient would need to fill out, great they are using iPads instead of paper to fill this out, should be easy enough. Nope, kept telling me it couldn't be saved due to a server error. Okay, whatever. it's now 2:11 and I'm just waiting along with another patient who was there prior to me being there at 1:50. A few minutes go by and an elderly lady walks in nearly trips and falls face first into their front desk, she's panting aggressively and is crying to the front desk lady telling her she has cancer, and then sits next me while sniffling and the breathing was reminding me of covid, and I just felt so uncomfortabl, like she was clearly sick, and there was no protocol or those who are sick should wear a mask and keep their distances. It's now 2:30, 30 minutes past My appointment time, I'm getting frustrated because I'm clearly here for a reason, and it doesn't seem to matter. Whatever, I finally get called at 2:52, ridiculous. They do my xrays, and the dental assistant was awesome, she really did the most for me out of everyone there, even the actual dentist, but we will get to that. We're doing the xrays and I tell her that I'm super sensitive to these plastic thingys they always hurt me and make me gag, so she was supportive and literally was running back and forth taking it out o my mouth and always asking if I need a break or if I was okay. Truly made me feel better for a minute. We finish and she takes me into a room. where I then waited for another 15 minutes, just staring at my xrays not knowing what I'm looking at. FINALLY, the dentist comes in, i tell her the pain Ive been having and she's like, lets see, SHE SHOWS ME my abscess in my gums above the tooth, she was like "see that black above your tooth, thats an abscess. Okay.. she continue to do her work and go by tooth by tooth and I'll be honest, my teeth are in horrible shape, so I'm not too surprised by her response but it just felt like she didn't care, she didn't want to help, nor get my smile like I said my goal was, back. She just wanted to bill my insurance, and make money. She said I'll have to have all my teeth pulled and get dentures. I then told her It's not something I thought about at all because I'm only 24 and didn't think it was this bad, because I just went to the dentist last month and they were an expensive pay out of pocket dentist and they certainly didn't tell me I would need dentures, nor all my teeth pulled. I then tell her is there other options?? Such as implants or veneers, and she told me, there is but there's only one doctor in Eugene who does prosthodontics and he's probably out of your income range. Like thanks. Needed that. I tell her straight up I don't want dentures and I will be getting other opinions. She sends me on my way, she did not care I'm telling you, if she had she wouldn't have let me leave there with out some antibiotics for my abscess. So now I have to go to urgent care to heal the infection in the meantime. Absolutely will not be coming back. And will be telling everyone I know what a horrible service you all provide. read more

I came in with the worst jaw/mouth pain imaginable. I was exhausted from not being able to sleep for several days due to the pain. I was coming out of town and simply could not wait to see my dentist in my hometown. I essentially had a full on panic attack while I was there explaining my symptoms. They were so nice and calm, and treated me so well with so much patience while all while I was sobbing and honestly, a complete and total wreck. They explained why I was experiencing this particular pain, promptly set out to help my pain, prescribed antibiotics and assisted with setting up my follow up appointment in Bend. My whole experience was not good. I did not want to write a review. However, I have had multiple text messages from Aspen and multiple emails asking me to complete a survey. It's overwhelming . I even tried to block your emails. So because your persistent with your surveys let me go into some detail. 1st. During my initial visit after the dental hygienist performed her analysis on my teeth she told me I had gum disease and I needed to get my wisdom tooth pulled. She then gives me directions on what the next steps were but first we needed the Dr. To come in and confirm. After she goes into her spill about the survey and wanted feed back etc etc. (Keep in mind my visit wasn't finished, the Dr didn't even come in yet ) not only was I scared and shocked to hear I had gum disease but now I was frustrated for the lack of empathy the hygienist gave me. She was finished with her consultation and was now pushing for a good review. That rubbed me the wrong way. 2. I swore they asked me if I wanted my teeth whitened about 3 times. The whole time I felt they were trying to upsell. I was told to buy the $150 electric toothbrush there, the $30 toothpaste for gum disease. And a $5,000 treatment plan. And then when I go to pay, the lady again asked if I'm interested in teeth whitening. 3. I'm paying at the counter the phones ringing off the hook. The lady at the desk apologized and put me on hold. Then got off the phone and said she wished the phones would stop ringing as their computers had been down and she needed to catch up on work. She was obviously overwhelmed. She continued to put the calls on hold but huffed and puffed every time. Very unprofessional. (I've been in her position when the computers are down) It sucks yes, but don't explain that to a 1st time guest and tell me you wish people would stop calling that your behind on work. 4. So now I leave. I scheduled a wisdom tooth removal with a oral surgeon elsewhere. It was cheaper. I contacted Aspen and let them know I needed my xrays sent over to the oral surgeons office. The gentleman I believe his name was Nick; Told me I need to fill out a release form and give them consent. I said that's fine email it to me and I'll get that back to you right away. I emailed the form back within 20 minutes. 1 week later I get a call from my oral surgeons office informing me they never received the xrays. I contacted Aspen and asked if they could send them over. Well, I accidentally called the Eugene office and that lady told me it could take up to 10 days but I needed to contact the Springfield office. So I called Springfield and Nick answered again. I said look I have my surgery scheduled for tmro I need the xrays sent over. He looks into my file and says ," Oh yes we did we receive the consent form, I'll get that sent over to our corporate office. It has to go through them before we can send over your xrays." At this point I am frustrated because I sent this over 7 days ago and your JUST NOW sending this to your corporate office for approval. I told Nick he never informed me of a 10 day processing period if I would have knew about it, I would have arranged my surgery at an optimal time for the xrays to get sent over. Now it's last minute and your telling me there's not much you can do on your end ? You can't make the process go any quicker . I sent this form to you 7 days ago it should have already been handled. Anyway, I was just going to have to pay my oral surgeon another $120 for new xrays since Aspen dental isn't on top of their work. I couldnt reschedule my appt because I had already arranged time off work for my surgery. Finally, I contacted my oral surgeons office and let them know the situation. The lady helping me was appalled that they couldn't just scan the xrays over. She said it's a couple clicks of a button and couldn't believe them. She even insisted I find a new dental office that she has heard negative things about Aspen . I couldn't agree more. read more

If you have dental insurance and use Aspen dental for your dental care needs beware!!! I was told on 2/4/2020 right before I had a root canal what my portion of the root canal expense would be! When my insurance company payed their portion, I had overplayed my bill by$137.00!!! After calling Aspen Dental 2 times, they credited my credit card for $80.00, which was incorrect. Three weeks later, it took more phone calls and me sending my dental insurance statement for the root canal and after the office manager received my info, she still argued with me about if this was the insurance company's fault! She was rude and curt to me on the phone and couldn't tell me when the overpayment would be handled!!! Not if she would call me in a few days to let me know when I'd get a refund. I really didn't need the run around with her and her lackadiasel attitude!!! Already have enough stress in my life! I will never use Aspen Dentals services again, I don't need the stress! PS: Received a call from the office manager and she said the insurance claims Dept for Aspen Dental reviewed my overpaying and will be crediting my credit card for The $57.00 over charge as of 9 am this morning! Run away from Aspen Dental. They are totally unethical! I went to them because I moved to the area, needed to find a new dentist and they were listed in my network. After 66 years of being told by dentists that I have very healthy teeth and gums, you can imagine my shock when their hygenist told me I had periodontal disease, including Infection and bone loss, and needed an invasive deep cleaning procedure and follow up cleanings every 3 months. I checked the internet and discovered I had none of the tell tale signs of periodontal disease. In addition to that diagnosis the dentist told me I had a fracture in molar that required a crown. I started looking into Aapen Dental and discovered they are a corporate dental organization that has been accused of scams across the country, and there have even been some news and television investigations into their practices. I cancelled my deep cleaning appointment, found a reputable local dentist, Andrew Tillman, and made an appointment for a second opinion. I am so glad I did. Turns out I DO NOT have any dental issues, no periodontal disease, no need for a crown, and in fact, as usual I was told I have very healthy teeth and gums. This location is professional looking and well kept, and all the people from the front desk person to the hygienist and the dentist are nice and professional. I gave them 2 stars for their overall business practices. I've had some previous dental work at other offices out of state, but I have been regular on my checkups and all of my previous dentists (both in state and elsewhere) have taken a "wait and see" approach related to replacing my crowns and previous fillings. I went to this location 3 separate times over the course of 1.5 years, and their recommendations for dental work got progressively more aggressive (and expensive) each time. The first time I went in, they did the usual X-rays and cleaning and didn't recommend any additional work. The 2nd time I went in (6 months later), they strongly recommended I get my crowns replaced, with a potential out of pocket costs of $1350 for 2 crowns. The most recent time (6 months later), their analysis of my gum pockets were in the at-risk to danger zone for periodontal disease (which was completely surprising as I did not change my oral hygiene habits, nor did I have any medical changes). They wouldn't even clean my teeth and recommended a deep cleaning that would require me to be put under. I found it hard to believe that my teeth would change that much in just 6 months time. Then they sent me to the business manager to schedule my deep cleaning and get a cost estimate. The cost estimate for the cleaning alone was $800, plus they also said I still needed the crowns. They wouldn't even schedule my appointment unless I paid a deposit to secure the hygienist's time, so I ended up paying $100 just to make the appt. After I left, I decided to get a second opinion from another local dental office. They analyzed my gum pockets and found them to be within the normal range, and reviewed my X-rays and disagreed with the findings of Aspen Dental. Maybe it's the "corporate" nature of their office, but the prices are high, they "upsell" you on products and/or recommend expensive procedures that may not be warranted, potentially mislead patients on the severity of the issue, and make patients pre-pay for services. Needless to say, I have since changed dentists. Just beware and do your homework on potential costs and services. read more

Going to the Dentist can be really very scary, no fear here! Came in with a BAD TOOTH in fact my whole face swelled man I was in complete pain! They were so kind and the care is AMAZING durning my tooth issue and continued after care!! I just can't begin to express just how happy with the treatment and all the TLC I received from the front desk, billing ladies, but best of all were the fine people in the treatment rooms! They pulled my tooth (no chance of saving it) if they could they would have, they helped me into the car and had me back the next day just to check on me.
