Maria and Chuck did a pretty good job on helping us pick Regency gas insert and getting it installed, especially during COVID. The issue is service after the sale. I contacted Maria on October 19, 2022 due to our unit not staying lit. The unit was still under the two-year warranty until November 5, 2022 and Maria assured me that the work would be completed and covered by the warranty. Over the next two months I repeatedly called and emailed both Maria and Chuck and was told I was a "PRIORITY" customer, and they would put me on the schedule "Next Week". I have been given the excuse that they have health issues that do not allow them to service customers. I can understand this impacting the business for a couple of weeks, but nearly three months? Maria informed me that they did not want to send out a technician that was not certified to work on a Regency. How about hire and send someone to school? Well, it has been 11 WEEKS and at no time have they reached out to me to schedule a service call. As bad as I hate to give a business, especially a small family business, a bad review. I visited Aspens showroom after admiring my neighbors new gas fireplace. She had nothing but great things to say about Aspen so I wanted to see for myself. The showroom was very clean and organized. I was greeted by the owner Maria who was very professional and knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions and a few I hadn't thought of. My fireplace was in need of repairs and upgrade, it was the original that came with the house in 1991. It made the entire room look very dated and now it is a beautiful focal point. Maria was very easy to work with, great communicator from start to finish. Our remodel is so beautiful. Everything went exactly as Maria said it would. No issues with install, great customer service and beautiful end result. I am very happy with my new fireplace is much more energy efficient. read more

Aspen Green is one of the only gigs in town which is why they still get business. Aspen Green installed the gas fireplace in our home before we purchased it and so we used them when we could not fire up the flame a few years back. The owner is highly unprofessional- shouted at me over the phone as though I were his kid and dragged his feet on replacing a part for us- even showed up one day and didn't have the part but pretended he was there for something else; he's very disorganized. Last time he was here he pulled the stonework loose (which I am now having to repair with the mason) and dropped a part into the well of the fireplace which I had to fish out myself. Don't use Aspen Green. They're awful. read more

We purchased a Regency gas insert in 2014 and at the time I thought all was great. Called them for service as I thought flame pattern was wrong at the begining of Covid and son came out. I was told that I did not need to do any annual maintenance and that I had a broken log. Was supposed to get a quote to replace logs and fixed and we never heard from them again. Since the insert still worked, I let this go - mistake. The insert recently stopped working and I both called and left message as well as emailed Maria. No response. Went to store were told need appointment and when I said service related, she said husband temp out of commission and son has broken toe or foot so nothing available. As I was unable to get service, we called in another vendor, and this is what I learned. One log was installed wrong (By tech evaluation) and in fact this is what caused the broken log and the issue having now as pilot assembly covered in soot and has to be replaced. Thanks to all the pictures taken during service you can see this. BTW these inserts should be inspected yearly just like your furnace and how water heater. So far, we recommend Rooftop Chimney Sweeps although their pricing appears high as per Aspen Green. They got back to me quickly and their inspection report is 13 pages with pictures that I now have in my records. They are very communicative. I reserve final judgement for when system in service. read more

I have never had such a hard time with a service provider. After certifying that a gas fireplace was working well in an Arlington Condo, I found that gas was leaking out of the valve in the wall filling a high rise building full of natural gas, But they came out and fixed the valve. then the pilot light did not work and I spent 10 days trying to get them out to look at the reason. Even after telling them that I would pay for whatever repair was needed. 10-14 days later they sent an email to tell me they would be nearby. they do not know how to communicate at all, I would have expected a phone call. Lord knows I have called them 7-8-9 times and followed up with emails. No the irrational wife, tells me to go find someone else, Good Grief! they will be out of business in no time. do not trust your home or your life to these people, they are incompetent. read more

In December 2013, I ordered and had Aspen Green Gasworks install a wood burning fireplace insert. The ordering process and the time they spent with me, up to the purchase, was great. I was even really happy that they were able to fit me in during their busy season. After a few weeks of waiting for the unit to arrive, the crew came out and did the install. They were courteous and seemed to do a great job. They took care to place floor mats down and put up plastic to try and keep my house clean. It wasn't until a week or so later that I notice the chimney cap was crooked (12/29/2013). I sent them an email asking if it was supposed to look that way or if they were going to come back to complete the work. They told me that they would have to send someone out a little later because they are in "busy-season." I agreed to work with them, and told them that I'd be amenable to them coming out in a reasonable amount of time. After several emails back and forth, they finally came out to correct the issue (2/21/2014): The chimney cap was crooked, it was not attached to the chimney, which left about a 6 inch gap. All throughout the rain and winter storms water and snow has been pouring in to the chimney. When they finally came out to correct the issue, the crew only used caulking on 3 of the four sides. I was so tired of dealing with them, I just completed the 4th side. I believe I gave them plenty of time to correct the issue, but it wasn't done. For a $4000 purchase, I'd expect them to come and correct something within a few weeks, not a few months later. I've definitely had people come over and ask where I purchased the fireplace insert, but I'll be sure to tell them that it was a mistake. Too bad... The initial part of the purchasing was a great experience, but the follow-through was horrible. read more

Maria owners wife was nice and helpful in the shop but owner Chuck was not familiar with products and I had to correct him about model numbers, dimensions and other technical aspects of devices. Very spotty follow up with multiple calls required and horrible customer service. When one of our two fireplaces (~ $8,000 invested) malfunctioned we set an appointment with Chuck and he did not show and did not call. From that point forward we could not get them to answer their business phone, obviously screening us, and when we left messages we received no return calls. Not to be mean but I am not sure how he is able to put his pants on every day One of the worst experiences I have had with a business. read more

Doing business was difficult because the ownership of this establishment is clouded by a sister company that installs the gasline, a fact that was not disclosed to me when i bought the gas insert unit, which led to an ugly confrontation after the gasline was installed. When I tried to withhold payment for the faceplate (and only the faceplate) which was yet not ordered, Chuck insisted on full payment or he threatened that he would trespass and shut off my gas he already installed. (He said to take the issue up with the sister company, apparently owned by his wife, absurd as that was.) So I paid and hoped they would order the faceplate (they later did without any issue). Also, promises to visit my house for follow up were not kept twice. Most troubling is that this establishment carries Regency gas fireplaces, and the Regency faceplate has a design flaw. Specifically, the back of the faceplate is absurdly designed, not allowing the faceplate to sit snugly on your fireplace wall. On Dec 30, 2015, I tried talking to a manufacturer's rep named Paul, and he was extremely rude and insulting. I could tell he was not the customer service rep. Although I had sent photos of the back of the faceplate, he refused to say if it was defective or if that was the way it was supposed to have been designed. (Part of the faceplate back did allow a snug fit, other parts didn't. Go figure. Was a nightmare to install.) Whether mine was defective or not, at a minimum the design as defended by Paul is very poor, and i had to cut large chucks of metal off the back of the my faceplate to make a snug fit. Paul stammered that because I had cut metal on the back -- not attached to anything by the way -- that my warranty was void, a total hoot because this was a faceplate. He left me bemused -- not sure what he thought I would claim my warranty on. :) I don't recommend. read more

At the time we built our home, we had a very difficult time finding the right product with modern look for our fireplace installation. The result was an unattractive "builder grade" vent-less product which also raised concerns over the smell. Thank goodness for Aspen Green Gasworks. They came in, sized up our home and realized immediately what could really add that finishing touch. Their team installed a stunning Regency Horizon fireplace which just pulled the entire room together. The installation took place in late 2010 and its been over 5 years of near perfect performance. One simple problem was addressed immediately even though we were far beyond the warranty. This is a company that stands behind their product and I cannot give a higher recommendation on their product knowledge, customer service and quality! Top recommendation! read more

We purchased a gas fireplace from Aspen Green Gasworks in January 2014 and had a terrible customer service experience. We paid over $5,000 (includes installation of the gas line) for the Regency Liberty Direct Vent Gas Insert (Model No. L540EB). The purchase and installation went well (11 February), with one significant disappointment - at that time, Aspen Green Gasworks was not accepting credit cards for payment (we paid by check). Within a few days of installation, the fireplace began making an intermittent vibration/rattle noise shortly after it was turned on. We spoke with the owners of Aspen Green Gasworks (Chuck and Maria) and told them the gas fireplace was making a noise. On February 21st, we sent them an email explaining that the intermittent vibration/rattle had persisted so we asked them to schedule someone to come by and check it out. Resolving this issue turned out to be a significant challenge. We called Aspen Green Gasworks many times and sent them numerous emails. When all was said and done, it took 7 months to fix our fireplace, and it was the Regency Regional Representative (Gordon Brandt), not Aspen Green Gasworks, that ended up fixing it on September 25, 2014. During those 7 months, Chuck and Maria, time after time, were unresponsive. They repeatedly deferred getting someone out to trouble shoot the vibration/noise, often going more than one month without getting back to us after telling us they "would let us know" when Chuck could fit us in to his schedule. New sales and installations took priority over "service calls." Twice, Chuck failed to show up at our home for agreed-on appointments to check out/fix the problem, causing me to miss work. After 7 months of trying to resolve the issue with Aspen Green Gasworks, we gave up dealing with them. They offered good service when we were shopping for a fireplace insert, but that service disappeared once the sale was made and our gas fireplace insert was installed. After the Regional Representative for Regency fixed the fireplace (removed/replaced the blower), Chuck and Maria never called to follow-up with us. To say their customer service was extremely poor would be an overstatement -- we absolutely would not recommend using Aspen Green Gasworks as the overall experience was very frustrating. To end on a positive note, Gordon Brandt, Regency's Regional Representative, was very responsive, professional, and knowledgeable on Regency's products. If not for him, who knows how much longer it would have taken to fix the vibration/rattle noise in our gas fireplace insert. read more
