I needed the ENTIRE water line replaced all the way from the house to the street, which was going to be complicated because we live on a slope and have rocky landscaping. I asked Steve tough questions, including whether his team had ever drilled a brand new line in such rough terrain, which he assured me he had. I told Steve, "I want this done once, I want it done right, and I don't want to have to worry about it again." Steve and Done Right Plumbing delivered! They installed a brand new water line, a new pressure release valve, and managed to do the whole thing without digging a trench! I assumed the mixer cartridge needed replacing. This is a repair I would usually do myself, but since I live about 45 minutes away I decided to call a plumber in the area. Based upon the 5 star reviews I called Marysville AA Plumbing. 2. After looking at the problem the plumber recommended taking out the entire existing Delta fixture, "since Delta parts were difficult source," and installing an entire new Moen valve and housing assembly, which would also require cutting a hole in the adjacent closet to access the pipes. Estimated total (not including drywall repair) - $1600. Could the plumber breakdown the estimate into parts & labor? No. Really? Sounded a bit steep to me but what do I know. Maybe Delta parts are really hard to find. After passing the quote along to my wife we agreed to say no thanks and get another bid. 3. At this point I went online and within 5 minutes located the replacement cartridge at multiple Home Depots for $65. I purchased the cartridge and installed it myself in under 30 minutes. 4. Better Air NW was the only one who didn't give us pricing or a plan and the only one we had a negative experience with. During our in-person consultation, Jered focused on our HOA almost the entire time. Our HOA does have requirements in this area that we don't think are enforceable anymore, and in any case, that's our issue to sort out once a proposal is in place. We reassured Jered we would handle the HOA ourselves and wanted him to treat it like any other job: propose whatever setup his experience would call for and walk us through a plan and pricing. He kept coming back to the HOA anyway, and we struggled to get him to focus on the plan instead. He even told us one of the rooms was "impossible," and when we asked why, the answer was the HOA. It really felt like we were grasping at straws here. By the end of the consultation, our time had been wasted and we still didn't have any pricing or a plan. Later, he texted us that they couldn't do the job, without giving a reason. Since we never got one, we were left to guess: to us, the constant focus on the HOA came across as an easy way to pass on a job they didn't want to take on.
