I am in love with so many things here. The Ernest Hemingway is the BEST new bourbon drink I've had in memory. Fried mushrooms are crazy good. Hand-dipped, not frozen from a bag. Nachos are unique with black beans and beer cheese. The side wedge salad and garden salad are the most generous portions you will find. Fresh, amazing and priced better than you'll find anywhere these days. Catfish and tartar sauce are next level. The brussel sprouts are a must... I can go on and on. What a find! Mushroom appetizer was ample and delicious. The Hawaiian chicken was flavorful and properly cooked. My wife had the catfish which was coated with cornmeal, fried perfectly and huge. The sides were great. I had the wedge salad which was $.99 extra but well worth it. It was plenty large and delicious, no funky lettuce. The Brussels sprouts side was surprisingly good Pricing was reasonable in the current environment and a good deal when you consider how much food was served. Service was well done and helpful considering it was our first visit. Restrooms were very clean. Parking ample and safe. Everything that could go wrong went wrong but why the 4 stars? The food and drinks were pretty good! Since they are fairly new (this is a chain with one other location in Illinois), I expected some bumps along the way. I ordered their spicy margarita but found some black thing in it, but after I asked the bartender what it was, she offered to remake it for me. My sweet chicken wrap that was suppose to have no Tomato came with tomatoes in which I tried to pick out but my, there sure was a lot of it! After I gave up and just pushed the whole dish away, she came back and I had to tell her there was just too many to pick out. She had that expedited as a remake. Apparently someone else gave my wrap away but they came to apologize. The onion rings and waffle fries are good! I tried to sign up for their rewards program online and via text by texting that number on the little marketing card but I never got my text/email with the free app after 24 hours. I've been back twice so I tried each time, but hey... I still get the marketing emails but where's my free app coupon! I've had the El Segundo broken skull beer which is nice .. they have over 30 on draft! I also tried the deep Eddy peach mule which I liked. Their VSPS is also nice. This is a great new spot! The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a great sized beer menu and the theme of the restaurant is fun. We ordered the truffle fries, which were yummy and the wings, which my husband really liked. I tried the fish tacos which had good flavor and some kick. I substituted the brussel sprouts as my side, and they were sweet and spicy. The food actually has kick when it says it's spicy, which I appreciate. This was our first time here on a Sunday around 4pm. It wasn't very busy, and the service was good. The host and our server were very nice and let us know about the food and drink specials. On Sundays they have $6 all day bloody mary's and mimosas. They have lots of TV's if you're a sports person. The music was good and not too loud. The bathrooms were also very clean. We were not originally one of his tables but our server left right after taking our order I guess ‍ He was way more welcoming than any other employee in your establishment. Absolutely the worst burger I have ever been served. Our party of six ordered a variety of food and most of the entrees were OK but nothing special. My wife and I ordered burgers and when they were served they looked overcooked and dry. I took one bite and it actually crunched and tasted terribly burned. Upon taking bun off and inspecting , bottom of burger was completely charred and hard as a rock. It was obvious that staff knew burger was not edible but chose to serve it anyway. Holy deliciousness! It all started with the broccoli fritters and craft beer cheese dip with pretzels, then the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and the boneless wings with buffalo sauce. My unpopular opinion is that buffalo sauce is over-rated but the others at the table wanted to give them a try and I was pleasantly surprised. Cheese dip, broccoli fritters, and breaded tenderloin have me wishing I didn't live 3 hours away. They were SO GOOD. I can't wait to come back next time we're in town. There was a pretty big wait on Friday night at 6pm but we were able to check in on yelp from where we were staying and arrived about 5 minutes before our estimated seating time and were seated right away.
